Good food, but the customer service ruined my experience. The waiter took my order and walked off when I was in the middle of ordering. Wasn't talked to just asked what I wanted, given food and Everytime I had a question before I could asked the waiter walked away. Felt rushed out of the restaurant, couldn't enjoy my meal. Really good place to try Mexican food for the first time. It is pricy, I believe for the appeal to white folks. But if you are Mexican and want authentic food just go to sante Fe mall or plaza fiesta. Here they don't drench the flautas in sour cream or stuff the tacos with cilantro and onion like authentic Mexicans do. They kind of just add it for the look of the dish.

I'm really sad I didn't get to try and review their food. We arrived on a Wednesday night and were seated by the hostess outside - the dining room looked pretty busy but only 4 other tables were taken outside. We were seated at 8:32 (only know the exact time because I received an important email I've been waiting for as soon as we sat down), after waiting for 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, my friend got up to find the hostess and see if someone will be assisting us since we haven't seen a server come by in that entire time (the busser did bring us the complimentary chips and salsa and there was a waitress serving other tables outside, so someone def knew we were there). The hostess then went outside and was discussing table numbers with the busser, then went back in. 5 minutes later (about 25-30 minutes after being seated), we got up to leave. The hostess came out at the same time and was apologetic that no one came by, but I didn't want to risk waiting another 20 minutes to see a server so we left. I'm not that young and I've never before left a restaurant due to not even seeing a server in over 25 minutes; honestly, a simple "Hi, here's some water, I'll brb with you" would've sufficed for us - we were having a good night and had complimentary chips and salsa to hold us over.

I thought that I could handle an entree by myself, since I hadn't had a decent meal all day. I even ordered Vegetarian Fajitas just so as not to get full and feel heavy from meat. I could barely finish my 3rd tortilla.. Especially after adding a $5 Margarita to the mix! The combination of the various vegetables was so delicious (and that was before making my very own special soft taco). I couldn't even finish half! Be sure to add a lil' queso... it's MUY BUEÑO!

I went with two friends and we were not impressed or even ok with the experience. The food was not a lot and was served cold. The texas fajitas were the only thing that was good. I ordered a Michelada drink that was served half full on a giant glass. The service was the worst part of the experience as we had no one attending to us and we had to track them down for everything, even the most basic requests.

Located about a block or so south from the over priced and lesser food quality Uncle Julio's, El Azteca is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Busy but not loud and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The food is very good as well.
