To all black Americans Caribbeans or those perceived to be BEWARE. I have noticed that a few of you have had few poisoning, overly spicy food, overcharges to your card etc, inside scoop, these Ethiopians don't like you. They mess behind your food that the serve you or they Serve you old food. They overcharge your cards because the don't feel that you tip and your food is over spicy because it is old and they don't want you to pick up on the rotten flavor. I repeat, they do not like you. Some of these GOOD reviews with no pic are FAKE . They do treat white patrons better because these people have business with each other that's deeper than just a restaurant. For the black American/Caribbeans that had a good experience, KUDOS and God was on your side, but don't make it a habit. This is an inside scoop from what I know about the limo drivers that work there as well as the restaurant owner. They have let me know they do not like Black Americans. They don't want you sitting amongst there white customers aka their slave masters. They will not tell u this but they will take forever to fix your food or address you in hopes that you will leave. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE BLACK AMERICANS/CARIBBEANS
First off the customer service is A-1! As soon as we entered the space we were greeted by the owner, who is also the chef! What?! The vibe is very warm and inviting. The food was savory. The portion sizes were massive! I enjoyed every minute in there. Talking to the staff and eating authentic Ethiopian food made it a night to remember.
We tried the vegetarian platter which was really nice. On the menu it is mentioned that you it serves 3 but if you are really hungry as we were it would be mostly two people. Every single item on the platter was delicious specially the beans and potatos. The bread (Injera) has a bit of sour taste to it due to the fermentation which is really appetizing. It's also super fluffy.
Hello everyone come check out my hangout spot it’s great food and place to enjoy with friends and families.
Outstanding authentic Ethiopian food. Best doro wat and vegetarian combo I've had! Also enjoyed traditional Ethiopian coffee service. The owner and her staff were so kind and welcoming. Excellent service.0
Response From Restaurant Manager Let me Clarify About The outrageous and racist comments.... On June 9 Miss Brittany Tylor came to restaurant and ask one of the waiters to talk the owner. Once the owner introduce herself,Brittany Taylor said she is doing a research about Why Africans don't like black American? She should be making a research instead how black Africa imigrants with great odds become successfuel citizens of this country . Furthermore,I responded to her that I am African American;Ethiopian america and consider my self a proud black person .her despicable action to poison the reputation of the restaurant is unexplainable dilemma. This restaurant has been in operation for almost ten years;we serve people from all walk of life and experience. If the statmemt was true, we should have been closed and gone long time ago. As the resturant owner, to be labeled with this kind of Negative and Racists remarks
I have Bole the last 5 years I never have any complaints I love the food and the servers I will be back
I sat at the bar and even though the place was virtually empty I still had to get the bartender's attention to get my order taken. I initially wanted a sambusa appetizer but was told that it takes a long time and would probably come out with my food, so I decided not to order it. She was wrong. My food took about 45 min to come out and not one time during my wait did anyone say "I apologize for the wait, your food should be ready shortly", nothing whatsoever. Also I had a glass of water with my meal and my glass sat in front of me empty the entire time I was waiting for my food until I finally had to ask the bartender to refill it. She seemed utterly oblivious as to how to serve a guest. What I ordered, which was shrimp tibs, was overpriced at $19; it's literally just shrimp in broth, enjera and a small salad made from iceberg lettuce. The presentation was also very blah. In addition, I was also incredibly turned off when the cook walked into the dining room with her hairnet on. The food actually tasted pretty good, which is what the 1 star is for. All in all, the food wasn't good enough to compensate for such poor, inattentive service. I will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone.
Food was very good. It was something new for me but pleasant. I loved the wine.
Just ok Ethiopian food. My dish was a bit too oily/greasy for my preferences. If you are dying for some Ethiopian food - this place will do. But there are better places here in Atlanta. Very unpretentious place. Service was a bit slow.
Food is good and staff make you feel at home.
Delicious food. Wonderful and warm atmosphere. Can't wait to take my mother! And so much food I have dinner for tomorrow too.
Wow. Never had Ethiopian cuisine, so I was flying blind. Had the single portion sampler and was blown away. For newbies like me it’s similar (yet with fully new flavors so really not that similar) to authentic Indian. I’m already addicted to the pancake like bread thingy. Do it.
Good food, nice friendly folks.Atmosphere was nice. Will be back again.Next time I will take some photos of the food.Good presentation of the food.
Amazing Ethiopian restaurant! The food was outstanding and very flavor full. The combination platter was delicious. We enjoyed eating there very much. Great service and sitting on the outdoor patio was relaxing. Well worth the visit!
I’ve moved away from the Tri-Cities area of Atlanta (near airport) and I can honestly say that this is the only restaurant that I truly miss. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I’ve had meals as a couple, as a large group of women and as a to-go order. Every time - perfect! The Doro Wat is my favorite but we’ve tried so many things and all were delicious. Also... the coffee!!!
First time eating Ethiopian food and was a great place to start! Everything was so well seasoned and flavorful. The also have great vegan options.
I was excited about this dining option on this side of town. I normally only enjoy Ethiopian cuisine at a place off Clairmont and Briarcliff rd in Dekalb County. Bole has very friendly staff. Food was very uneventful. I ordered to go. I wondered, on my way home, why the aroma didn’t taunt and tease me. After unveiling my meal, I wished I had made the short drive north of the city to go to my favorite Ethiopian spot. Because the people were nice, I give 3 stars.
Mercy is an excellent server. The food was outta this world. A little wait for the food but nothing good comes fast. Get the sampler for 3. You'll like it even better the next day.
wonderful place food is awesome
Good authentic ethiopian food. Slow service. Location is great. wont find food as good as this any where in the south not commercially made ethiopian food this is the real deal with great prices.
We loved the service and ambiance. The vegetables were deliciously seasoned, but the meat was overly spicey for my palate. The server brought me cheese to cool it down a bit and it helped. The beer was the coldest I've ever had...I would definitely go back, but not order spicey. I'm not sure if that's possible but....
Awesome food. Plus they make their own honey wine.
The people are friendly! The food is awesome! If you have a taste for authentic Ethiopian Cuisine, this is the place! I ate there for lunch, how its diner time ... I want to go back already! I have been thinking about how am I going to get back before I leave town! Great place!
This place has amazing authentic Ethiopian food. Service is great. Friendly wait staff and manager. I highly recommend eating at this place especially if your vegetarian. Veggie dish is the best!
Friendly staff, great food.
Delicious food excellent service yummmmmm
I can't eat spicy foods; however, the flavor of the food was great...
Having recently moved to Atlanta from Denver (where there is an abundance of Ethiopian restaurants), we were looking for an authentic Ethiopian restaurant that could be our new 'spot'. Bole is authentic and delicious, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the restaurant itself is beautiful! They also serve traditional injara (teft flour only) which is such a blessing as we are in need of gluten free options when dining out. We are delighted to have come across Bole, and enjoyed our second visit this week! 'E' was our server the first visit, and was very gracious and helpful with suggestions for my parents (their first time eating Ethiopian cuisine). 'Sarah' was our server the second visit and she was the only server on duty during a fairly busy evening. She handled everything with grace and efficiency. At her side both back of house and front of house was the owner/chef 'Teje' (sp?). Ms. Teje exudes love and light, and as she made the food, she came to the front of house to assist in service and check on all of the customers. My wife and I will definitely return often, and we wish continued success and abundance to the team at Bole. Thank you!
I am so happy I found this place closer. The Doro Wot is the best
very good food
The best Ethiopian restaurant ever! I really love the food, best customer service, and clean restaurant. Thank you for your service.
Amazing place!!! Food is excellent. Like a trip to Africa!!
Awesome and authentic
I have been meaning to come here for years, and finally went... It was great. The food was incredible- so flavorful! The Ethiopian beers were all really good and the service was good too. Highly recommend this place, just a short walk from moat of the training hotels
Authentic and super tasty. Our waitress was so pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended
They be wasting your time. You basically be paying em to waste your time. You could literally go home and make some fir fir for free and under 5 minutes. DONT GO HERE PLEASE, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!
We are waiting from Last 1hr 10 mins and still no food on our table. Food quality might be good but they are not well equipped if 10-15 people come at same time. Will not suggest if you have work and time is valuable in your life!
Injera bread was
Excellent food and exceptional service!
I lived in Kenya where we get really good Ethiopian food, since it borders Ethiopia, this place has very close flavors to that. I think it is even better than the restaurants downtown of Atlanta. The tibs were amazing and had an awesome gravy. The rice was spicy and had a lot of flavor. The shiro was really good! The veggie platter doesn't have that though. The veggie platter is almost not worth it because it does not have shiro. Overall this is a great place for authentic flavor. I would skip going downtown to eat at this place!
I read Brittany's comment about Bole being prejudice toward African Americans and vehemently disagree. I am African American and have been visiting Bole for 10 yrs and figured I should make a review. We have always had awesome food, service, and general experiences at Bole. Just a great place. Tigi, Abinet and the entire staff make the place feel like home. Also, I am impressed with the recent changes in the back seating area. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Brittany's comments are counter to what I have always experienced.
One of the best Ethiopian Restaurant and the food is so delicious
Server, atmosphere, and the food was amazing. Until the next day… My friends and I both got food poisoning. I was over the toilet throwing up and diarrhea at least three days. It was horrible, with my very first time ever having food poisoning. We were fooled by the tasty bites. But thanks for the sudden weight loss. That was the part best part.
Jeezus! This spot is a hidden gem! Real talk! It was like I had an Ethiopian grandmother workin her magic in the kitchen. Portions are very generous and prices are excellent. It’s a must you order the vegetarian combo with Baklava to go! Service was very personable with a 12 minute wait for to go orders.... the only thing I can say negatively was the restrooms needed some attention and the hand dryer is in the hallway....huh?! It’s worth the trip!
The food was very good! The staff was very friendly and explained everything we were eating since this was my first time trying Ethiopian food. I highly recommend Bole and I will definitely return.
I can't say if the food was good or not. We waited 2 hours and our food still was not ready. Poor service. I will not be going back again
اسلام و علیکم Its a nice place to have excellent food in a nice place
Excellent food, great service, convenient to the airport. I will definitely one back!
Boles has a warm atmosphere plus extremely great customer service plus great tasting food equals must return and return
Ethiopian and Eritrean people and their culture are close to my heart and the food is something I just adore. I loved their doro wot. Do try their traditional coffee and injera. Will definitely definitely come back.
Really nice place. Good food and great service. Will definitely visit again. A nice platter for vegetarians r vegans as well. And some really strong tasting Ethiopian coffee
I called in my order 40 minutes ago on my order is still not ready this doesn't make any sense and I'm in a lift so in a few minutes they have the option to cancel the ride
Omg. What happened? This used to be the spot for great food. Why did my family have to wait an hour to eat? And why was the Njera not warm? I really want to support.
Vegetarian Ethiopian food. Wonderful
I LOVE this place! I've taken a couple of family and friends here and they love it as well. Food is always so good and you can't beat the vegetarian sampler for $10. I'm a vegan and I love having this healthy option to eat.
Food was good I took my daughter there to try something different..And different it was!! Great service!!! The ladies were awesome!!!! We ordered a they with different meets and veggies...but I think it taste better the next day.. will go again when in the area!
It is my second time visit. First time waited what I remembered more than 45 minutes if i am not wrong. But this time I waited 1 hour 20 mins still did not get food in my table. I love their food anyway. It would be better if they inform for late so that customer can be aware of their this. After eating i am modifying my rating. It was awesome. Note: suggestion for office public keep some waiting time.
These guys do a phenomenal job! Best Ethiopian food in Atlanta.
E was an excellent and friendly server and the food was delicious! We got the meat and veggie shared platter and two individual veggie combos. Everything was slow cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also have traditional injera (gluten-free). That was a huge bonus! We'll definitely be back often!
They took 2 hrs to serve food for 6 person. If you have hell lot of time in life then you can choose this place. Though food is very good still will not recommend if time is valuable in your life
Delicious! Best I've ever had!
I have visited this place twice. The first time we went I ordered a lental peas appetizer and we got two for the the listed price. Our next time we received one for the price of the two. When I spoke with our server she told me no, we should have gotten one for that price. I strongly recommend that you ask exactly what your getting. We will visit again brcbeca I enjoyed the food.
The food was excellent and the service was great this was my second time going back. Our waitress was really wonderful she was very knowledgeable about the food on their menu.
The best Ethiopian restaurant in ATL .
Our experience here was outstanding. We have never had Ethiopian food before. The owner walked us through a bit of the culture and food. When about to choose one of the more expensive items on the menu, she actually undersold herself and suggested cheaper item that would help us learn and enjoy the food origins. In addition, she treated us as family during the entire experience. If we lived in town, we would definitely be regulars!!! Last but not least, the food was delicious!!!
Great food and servuce. Loved the Awaze lamb. Its very spicy.
Great food just a bit spicy!
Good service and food.
Always great tasting food. Favorite meal is the vegetarian combo. Nice and friendly folks. Relaxing and fun atmosphere. I travel about 20 mins each way when I'm in the mood for their great cuisine and it is always worth it.
Three stars only because the wait time is horrific . However the one young lady who was working on the floor ;personality was amazing . She needed help with all the customers ! The veggie combo was good !
Whenever I’m in Atlanta, this is my #2 stop (my mom’s house is #1). The food here is amazing!! Service is a little slow because everything is freshly prepared. I just love Bole!!
Was looking for some good vegetarian food and found it. I had the Sambusa and Vegetable Combo and was not disappointed. Good food good service.
Excellent food. I had the Bole Combination and it was the perfect Ethiopian dish I've had in the US. The owner and staff were very friendly and helped me in choosing the right dish.
First time trying Ethiopian food. Very good!!!
Delicious! A little less jalapeno that was on everything and it'd be spot on. The amazing flavors just got masked by too much heat.
My favorite Ethiopian restaurant! I took hubby and he loved it too! The food is great and the portions are well worth the price!
The place was easy to find, as it sits close to I-75. The staff is helpful and friendly and the food was great. I'll most definitely pay them another visit when i'm in town again.
I LOVE Bole. Great staff and the most authentic Ethiopian food this side of the Mason Dixon. 2 of us shared the Bole Combo and it was more than enough food.
I won't return. This week was the 2nd attempt at getting service here. It truly caters to Ethiopian men & Women standno chance Even placing an order.
It's superb.
We chanced upon this place as we were staying nearby.. a really good restaurant with wonderfully tasting food.. ordered cajun style spicy rice with lamb..tassstttttyyyy :-) do try this place.. the people are very warm.and welcoming.. my sister ordered a vegan meal..that was also very tasty... portions are decently sized..
tibs combo plate was really good, as was the chicken and rice. spaghetti was ok. the owner is really sweet. bole Ethiopian restaurant is a nice family-owned establishment.
Delicious food. Had the Bole Sampler Platter. Very happy with it! Nice atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended!
Food and service was great loved the sampler I'm trying beef tartare next time probably in a day or two
I've never had Ethiopian food and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Mediterranean salad and the sampler platter. Great flavor!
This is my favorite Ethiopian spot in ATL. Good food, good portions, futbol & African news on the televisions. Don't play around with granny. She's an OG frfr.
Some very healthy options and the Doro Wot was delicious. Expect to eat with your hands using the injera bread. Very authentic delicious with great hospitality.
The staff is friendly and the food is good. The veggie combo is a tasty vegetarian option. BTW, this is the only authentic Ethiopian restaurant on the south side of the metro area.
A surprisingly fabulous find! My husband and I love Ethiopian and decided to try this place out. It was so very good. We got the tomato fitfit, which is a favorite of mine and this one was quite nice with a great dressing. I had Bozena Shiro and it was the best I’ve had. Sometimes the meat is chewy and this was not at all. My husband got the Kitfo and it was wonderful. Overall, loved it! Will definitely be back and next time only one beer to leave room for coffee. So full!!
Great place! Great atmosphere! Great Food! Would not go anywhere else in Georgia authentic taste love it!!!!! Thank you Bole
Awesome Vegetarian Combo. Very similar to Indian taste.
The customer service was excellent!
This an awesome place to experience Ethiopia food and culture.
Only one experience during travel but it was quite nice. Had the vegetarian Combo, I could have split it with another person, it was quite filling. Very nice tastes on the plate. Good staff. The place seems authentic but still blended well with local standards. Overall, it was much enjoyed.
Frindly atmospher , great food Great service i will recomand it
Bole is one of those hole-in-the-wall hidden gems. This was my first time having Ethiopian, so I ordered the single order sampler, which turned out to be a humongous platter with a little bit of everything. I am not ashamed to say I ate the whole thing. Lots of flavor in every dish, with just the right amount of spiciness in the meat dishes. The accompanying bread (injera) wrapped each bite with soft tanginess. I sat at the bar, so I think I ended up interacting with every member of the staff at one point or another! They were all friendly, and seemed passionate about their food and service. After the sampler, an Ethiopian beer, and a very rich and flavorful coffee, the total bill was less than I expected (around $22, although I think the beer was on special). I don't know when I'll ever end up staying near the airport again, but if I do, Bole is definitely on my short list.
The food is fantastic, especially of you love authentic cuisine from around the world. I recommend the vegetable platter and the spicy lamb. It's as good stuff it gets. I order here at least once a week.
Best place for people who are looking for authentic Ethiopian food. So yummy
I love this restaurant. It’s a few minutes from the Atlanta airport. It has become a frequent stop for me, anytime I’m traveling. The vegetarian options are endless and every thing is tasty and authentic. The samosas are really good too.
I did not enjoy the food I received nor did the other two people that came with me. I gave them a debit card and they took a extra $10 off my card that was over the total, if you decide to come here bring cash not your card because they'll steal extra money from it. This place deserves 100 F's you served nasty food and took $10 extra dollars.
All of the dishes here are wonderful. Even better than Desta! Very friendly and attentive staff. We will be going here regularly!
This was my first time having Ethiopian food. It was a nice experience. My only suggestion would be to use bigger Shrimp for the Shrimp dish in red sauce think it was Shrimp Bole Awaze. The menu says medium Shrimp however, what came on my plate was extremely small Shrimp. That was very unappealing. Please add larger Shrimp to your menu. The Fish in the rice dish was amazing.
Great authentic Ethiopian Restaurant
Great food nice place authentic
I really enjoyed my meal! My husband and I both ordered the Lamb Bole tibs. They were seasoned really good!
we ordered to go and asked for darak tips and they gave us very little portion and put lot of atentent (ribs) and less meat. They new we were traveling truckers and they used advantage of our situation. They kitfo kebay was absolutely ridiculous and test like margarine than kitfo kebay.....i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Amazing food, great staff and several vegan options
Great place and service. I saw some reviews that people said they had long wait times, but our food came out in a decent amount of time. The food was delicious!
My meal was very good and the people were nice. Im glad I stopped here.
Wait time is too high ... more than 1 hour but food is awesome
The food is fantastic! The owner is a sweetheart! Such good value for money. My whole family loves Bole!
Good prices and amazing food
I love this place
Great food, service a little slow
We have dined here several times over the last three years. We've always had great service and the food is magnificent. We've tried things that we thought we would not like...and ended up loving them. The food is extraordinarily delicious, cooked with love and passion. Truly, one of our favorite restaurants. Dined here again 8/19/18. Food was even better than the last time! They are so hospitable!
I was introduced to this restaurant while visiting Atlanta. Authentic Ethiopian food, great cozy feeling. Don't let the location sway you away. I always order the Single Sampler, Delicious!! This is a must stop for me everytime I am in the area. I can't get this kind of food where I live.
Quite possibly a perfect restaurant. The ambiance was lovely. The staff was hospitable. They even gave my 4yo a couple lessons in ping pong. Lol Oh and did I mention the food? YES! It was stupendous. A special shout out to E! Thanks, man. We will be back. :)
Food was on point. A revisit is a must.
Very delicious food, family style is a must. 5 stars on that. Not so much the pastries. They were stale.
Great food that takes a little longer but is well worth the wait. I reccomend it to anyone that has some time.
The food is sooo flavorful. My fav is the single sampler with the spicy chicken tibs. SO GOOD!
This authentic Ethiopian food is some of the best I’ve ever had! The flavors were so rich and well-combined. The ingredients tasted very fresh, and the service was delightful. We had the vegetarian combo and the spicy Awaze Tibs with lamb. I loved it all and was so glad we had leftovers so I could enjoy it again on our plane flight. If you’re on a layover at the airport and struggling to find good food, take a 5 min Uber ride to Bole, it is sooo worth the trip!
Amazing food! Was here from out of town and had no idea what to order! Waitress was extremely helpful and the sampler was awesome! Highly recommended
Excellent food and great prices.
Veggie platter is really good but be sure to bring a friend to share!
Tonight we decided to try something different. Bole did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious! So many flavors! And the service from the staff and the delightful owner was wonderful! Everyone made certain we had a positive experience. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area!
My family enjoyed the food, atmosphere and music!!!
Guess this is as good as it gets in the South side of town. I'll stick to Desta. This food was mediocre Ethiopian food. Lamb was super tough and the sauce was just a lot of oil.
Wonderful ethnic food from Ethiopia. Will eat again.
First time having Ethiopian food, its really good if you like spicy food like myself. I don't like the injera tho. Lol
This place is a true gem. I've never had Ethiopian food before today and now I'm sad I've been missing out all these years! The staff is warm and friendly, helpful and attentive. I had the bole salad and the sampler and loved every bite. Highly recommend!
Soooo delicious. My first time having Ethiopian food and I was so impressed. This dish was vegan and every bite was incredibly flavorful. Eat the rainbow!!
Portion have gotten a lot smaller since we first started going several years ago. Food and service is still good.
I love this place!! I'm definitely coming back to eat here anytime I come to Atlanta.
I tried the sampler, the food was good.
Poor customer service.
By far the best Ethiopian food anywhere and we have had it all over the world. Very much worth the trip.
Excellent food and very nice atmosphere.
Bole has a great menu with a variety of traditional Ethiopian dishes and contemporary fusion dishes as well. The service is prompt, and courteous, and the ambiance is laid back, and inviting.
Definitely did not like the pastry but my man liked them beer...
The lamb was delicious. Overall flavorful food.
The food, service, decor and cleanliness of this restaurant were all great. I can't believe I have been missing out. My favorite was the veggie Sambusas. I had two orders. I also ordered the vegetable platter which had a taste of everything. I love the menu and I will be going back as soon as I can!
Fantastic food and atmosphere. The staff was super friendly. I highly recommend their red lentil!
Delish!
It was so good and the service was excellent.
Wonderful food and ambiance!
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST RESTAURANT WITH THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered food from Uber eats from the restaurant - when I got the food it was not what I ordered. I called the restaurant - spoke to 3 different people explaining what had happened. For which the last person came on, admitted they made a mistake , and proceeded to argue with me about how they going to get the food to me. Screaming at the top of her lungs....I WOULD NEVER eat at the eastblishment
