This is a limited menu restaurant, which seems to focus more on small plates than dinner entrees. Of the entrees that we tried (i.e. burger, lasagette, and trout), all were fairly straight forward and unimaginative. The burger was the best, and least expensive of the options. The beer selection was also fairly limited and hop-heavy, though one person enjoyed their $14 glass of cab. The desert was...limited, too. However the bread pudding with ice cream had a nice almond flavor, so it was probably the only surprising or remarkable part of our meal. The service was friendly and prompt, which is a bright spot in this otherwise mundane restaurant. Perhaps worst of all, though, was the noise. There are lots of hard surfaces in the restaurant, to the point that we either had to shout at the server when he was next to the table, or he had to come around to hear us individually. Likewise, conversation was strained in that environment. While our visit wan't horrible, it was just "meh." Given the huge variety of great restaurants in the area, you should probably try somewhere else besides Bocado if you're looking for anything more than a quick drink, based upon our experience.

DONT GO. Just left this place, overheard the owner yelled extremely homophobic remarks to his waiter. It was the most unprofessional experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I will never be going back to a place of such discrimination.

Trendy eatery on the west side of town. Excellent service. The signature burger is delicious. Reservations recommended for the weekend. Might even spy some celebrities. Reasonable place.

Went with my friend and ended up ordering the "Burger." Pretty decent service and never had an issue with the establishment. Only annoying thing is the fact that there isn't really any parking around the area but the adjacent lot was only $3 so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Great drinks! I had Matt, the bartender, make me a cucumber martini and it was definitely one of the best I have had in a long time. I also recommend the burger, westside style! Sooo good in a place that doesn't look like they would rock out a burger. Make sure to try it out!

I like that you can add the cost of valet ($2) to your dinner bill. The food is overpriced - average $15 for an entree including burgers? $11 wines? Come on. Price aside, the food was good and the ambiance was nice and cozy, servers were attentive and nice.

Of course I'm reviewing the Bocado Burger Stack. Finally visited Bocado with a friend for a lunch date, and we both got the burger stack with a side of fries (regular for me and herb for her). The burger was simple, but delicious. I generally prefer burgers with more toppings, but I left happy with my meal. The right amount of all the ingredients, and some crispness to the burger edges. I devoured the regular fries, but I would recommend paying a little extra for the herb fries, because they were amazing. I probably wouldn't go to Bocado to order the burger again, but it's worth a try for anyone who enjoys burgers. If I visit again, I'd want to try some of the other items on their menu, because everything sounds pretty delicious. Service was great. We got to the restaurant near the end of lunchtime, and the servers were extremely friendly despite looking exhausted from the lunch rush.

Great burger. Like a fancy big Mac and I mean that in a good way. I don't eat fast food. The burger at bocado was really great. Have to order sides though. Burgers and sandwiches come a la carte on a plain white plate. No sides unless you order them.

Be aware this place is very loud. There is no sound deadening in the concrete bunker. They also charge premium prices for mid-shelf liquor. Most recently we ate dinner at 7:30 and they were already out of a spiecial, signature cocktail. The burgers were good. Service was fine.

Food was decent, but service was horrible. We were seated right away, but we didn't get out for 2 1/2 hours. People around us came and left. I almost felt like it was intentional. Never once checked on us during the meal. Empty glasses for 45 minutes. 30 minutes after we finished we finally got a question if we wanted dessert. Check please.

Small menu that looks like it changes often or daily. It has the date on it and seems to be the daily specials, plus lots of wine options. Everything tasted great and the staff was pretty friendly. The place didn't seem very busy, but this is probably because the food was very overpriced and there is no free parking around unless you walk a ways. I wouldn't come back or suggest this place due to these reasons, but the food was nice and it was a semi-upscale environment. A burger and fries with tap water and no ice cost me $18 + tax, or roughly double of what it should have cost.

I have called twice for take out, only to be told no. Today the hostess called me back after I placed my order to be told the kitchen was doing a deep clean. Hours are till 2pm for lunch, apparently the kitchen does not know this. Somebody please tell them. In the meantime. go to Fred's Meat and Bread or H & M for the same burger and save yourself a headache.

The owner, Brian Lewis, does not pay his employees. There are now several cases open with the labor and wage division including former salaried staff and several servers and cooks. These are confirmed to include at least two servers, former GM, former business manager, and such. Additionally, it was my experience that when a few employees attempted to contact Brian he continued to lie saying he’s done taxes on those wages he didn’t even pay. Which is tax fraud FYI. not only this, but when employees have calmly come in to ask for their owed money he changes his story and refuses to look up checks in the system to prove they cleared as he claims. When confronted, he threatened to call the police and screamed in front of customers. Consider the repercussions of eating at an overpriced burger establishment who mistreats workers and deprives employees former and current of money they earned. Do you really want disgruntled workers handling your food?

Lovely service and great food + drinks. We tried the iced out cocktail - excellent citrus flavor, perfectly strong, highly recommend. Steak tartare - not the best I've had, but worth a try. I liked the tangy cream it was served with, but I missed the more traditional mustard. Burger stack and herb fries - excellent, absolutely recommend to all burger fans. Lobster roll - light and fresh, stuffed full of lobster meat and with a beautiful dressing. The tomato bisque accompaniment was also delicious. My only negative point was that it was a bit pricier than we are used to, but we understand that Atlanta has a different standard than our little town :) I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a diverse menu to bring people of all tastes to try!

Only giving 3 stars due to overall experience. I'll start by saying that the food was fantastic. I had the burger which they are known for and it didn't disappoint. I followed that up with the bread pudding which was absolutely.... delicious. Possibly the only bread pudding that rivals my mother's version(IMHO). With that said our service was very lackluster. I would like to stress that this was only regarding our actual server. The hostesses and everyone else were great. Our server was extremely slow and inattentive. There were several times when we needed him and we watched him walk right by us without checking in. Once my burger came I waited patiently for our server to come so I could ask for ketchup. Eventually I grew tired of letting my food get cold and just asked another server or food runner who promptly responded. It even took this guy forever to cash out the check. We had to ask another server to go get him and she just ended up cashing us out. The small tip we left was reflective of our service(which I hate doing because I used to be a server), but I don't feel like anyone should have to pay top dollar for inadequate service. Maybe next time will be better. That is if there is one....

After being blessed to work in (and eat) fine food for years, I’d say: Dear Bocado - you can have food that was in the soil/in the sea/on pasture 5 minutes ago, and that’s great! But if it’s served with arrogance, the beautiful food is destroyed. Suppliers and kitchen are doing a wonderful job, but the service staff is ruining it. The Front of House manager has created a culture among servers that they’re doing us a favor by letting us eat at their farm to table restaurant. Honestly the worst service I’ve ever experienced. They (without a single apology) failed in every way possible, from ignoring us, telling us the "bartender" would be our server (he stayed at the bar the whole night), wrong orders which we were charged for in addition to the correct dishes, rude staff, cocktail order taken from one 1/6 guests. Even the valet guy was rude. The consensus at our table was "Terrible terrible, never going back, how does that even happen?"

It may have helped that my first visit was on a rare, low humidity August evening in Atlanta with 3 of my favorite people. We ordered the trout, flounder, kale salad, deviled eggs and the burger stack with fries. Everything was delicious. The drinks were refreshing and quick to arrive. We also ordered dessert (we were there for a while). The bread pudding with toasted almonds and vanilla bean sauce was nothing short of perfection. It was not overly sweet like so many others I've had. Though there's not a lot to look at back there, the patio is light and breezy. Service was decent but the food and ambiance won me over. Go. You'll enjoy it!

Went on a Friday for lunch and was very satisfied. Their tuna sandwich was delicious and you must get it with the herb fries. The sauces that come with this dish were perfect! We ordered a mimosa and it was so fresh! They actually use freshly squeeze oranges upon ordering it. My friend had the regular hamburger since it has been rated to be one of the best in Atlanta... he gave it a 7 out of 10. I've had it before and I think the same. Not a 10. It is very greasy. The tuna is a way better choice! Won't be disappointed. I asked for it fully cooked. Be prepared to pay for valet.

Upscale. Classy. Not pretentious. Absolutely perfectly cooked burgers, herb fries are spot on, fresh and delicious salads, and delectable flavorful broccoli. Honestly, though. You can look over the menu and PRETEND you're not going to get the burger stack, but you know you're going to get it anyway. There's a reason it consistently compete for the best burger in Atlanta.

Food was good. Servers were polite. However two members of my party ordered soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. When the servers brought the food to the table they informed us that they were out of soup and would bring them a salad. They should have informed them immediately that they were out of soup in order to give them a chance to change their order. Well, everyone at the table had finished their meals and out comes the salads. I will give credit to the manager...he did apologize and comp the whole table.

Got the Bocado burger stack, it was a great. A nice flavourful meat season well and cooked perfectly. The herb fries are to die for, a bit soggy but the flavor really makes up for that slight flaw. We also got a plate of deviled eggs that were really good, a little bit bland but overall good. The only issue here is that the parking is so limited.

Wow! The burger here is a strong contender: stacked tall, perfectly seasoned, cheesy, crowned with perfect pickles. (The side of fries was even crispy and tasty.) The octopus appetizer ("small plate") was pretty salty, but our comments on this were taken seriously, and the chef adjusted things by the time the second round hit the table. My husband's trout was just okay, but our friends raved about the small plate of spicy deviled eggs. Eat early to avoid lines, then relax with inventive cocktails. Recommended.

Got my food to go so can't comment on the atmosphere. Burger is good but nothing special. The fries I got were a soggy wet pile of mush despite specifically asking for well done / crispy fries. They're sitting in a pool of grease. I tried drying them off with paper towels and putting them in the toaster oven but they're unsalvageable. Honestly pretty disgusting.

Bocado has a modern, pleasant feel with great ambiance and good food. Note: The sandwiches do not come with a side, salads do not come with protein, and the entrees are priced high. For this reason, I rate it 4 stars. If they were a bit lower in cost or the food a bit more flavorful, I'd rate it the additional star. I had a taste of the signature burger; pleasant notes of sweet pickles and onion hidden within a healthy amount of meat and cheese. While I prefer flame broiled over fried, these were good. I Also had the young ones full salad with the blackened tuna. The salad was green and fresh, with the right amount of fresh cheese. Now, the tuna was cooked properly and tasty, I would in no way describe it as blackened. It tasted more of a mild Caribbean seasoning than anything dark.

Had a most desirable experience. Appetizers were unique and delicious. (beet salad, deviled egg, bread and butter) Had sweetwater 420's a tequila cocktail named White Noise.. cocktail was perfectly balanced and beer seemed fresh. I tasted the burger, steak tartar and duck dish. All were great. only made it through a quarter of entrees before too full to continue eating. service was respectful and happy to be there and it makes the world of difference. thanks for the true dining experience Bocado!

The burgers are good but don't show up hungry expecting to get one in a timely manner or you'll have your heart broken.

Bocado has one of the best burgers in Atlanta. There isn't much more to say. Get the "Westside Style" if you really feel like splurging. On Tuesdays, you can get a free beer with a burger and fries, which I'd recommend as well--especially if you get the garlic parmesan style. You'll need to use the valet parking if you plan on driving to Bocado, and the prices are not especially cheap. You can also expect an upscale restaurant with a slightly dim atmosphere. Any dress code is fine though. Grab a seat on the patio if it's warm outside.

Bocado was as delicious as always. My husband and I love coming here, and have been going since we started dating many years ago. I'm so glad I can now find them on Seated and get rewards by simply eating there. The valet, hostess, and servers are all wonderful and really add to the great feeling you get at Bocado. Plus the burger is my favorite in Atlanta. Ask for the spicy mayo with your fries, you won't be disappointed. And their seasonal cocktails are always beautiful and festive. Love this place, can't wait to return!

Recently, I needed to find a location to host 12 of my co-workers for a social dinner after work. I reached out to Bocado the Friday before our Tuesday event. Earlier that week, I had tried communicating with a different place who ghosted me after initial contact. I was definitely sweating it at this point. Bocado's manager reached out promptly. We talked over the phone, like real human beings and we discussed what their staff needed and what our group required. He also followed up the day before our event for a final head count. From check in at the host stand to close out of the checks, every facet of our event was handled with care. Food was served hot, drinks were refilled promptly, and I heard from each of my guests how much they enjoyed their experience at Bocado. If you're thinking of using Bocado for your private event, rest assured you will be thrilled with the care they give to your guests. They are more than capable both in FOH and BOH.

One of the best, if not the best, burgers in Atlanta. I've been to a lot of restaurants, bars, food competitions, etc and really can't think of too many burgers that can compete. At the time of this writing I just did the Atlanta Magazine Burger Battle the weekend before and nothing came close to this (well maybe the NFA Burger). Add bacon if you're a bacon lover; they add a couple of thick slices and it's the perfect level of crispiness and has a smoky flavor. The garlic herb fries are also quite good so make sure you pay the extra $1 for that. They of course have other menu options but I've only ordered an entree other than a burger once. If you're a big deviled eggs fan I would splurge on these. Very good. Cocktails.....I usually do the Big Business. They have a nice selection of liquor. If you're a brown drinker you won't be disappointed.

I'm curious what happened last night, Saturday January 19, 2019. Bocado is normally an exceptional experience, food and service. Last night was tragic from a service standpoint. The food was still great! It felt like half the wait staff simply no showed their shifts, kind of like the TSA agents during the government shutdown. This will not tarnish my long-standing view, but [BLEEP] was jacked up last night. Management did they best they could to compensate, but they should be aware how truly dissatisfying things were.

Good food. Convenient to midtown. Easy parking. We made a reservation for 9:00 on a weekday but still had to wait for 35 minutes to get a table. No one bothered to acknowledge the delay until we inquired after which the manager offered us a complimentary appetizer. Despite this, we'll probably give it another try.

One of my favorite restaraunts, highly recommended. Burger is one of the best in Atlanta. Good salads too. Have to get the deviled eggs and chicken salad for apps. Friendly staff and well stocked bar with creative cocktails. Lunch menu has unique sandwiches. I've tried about half of them so far and they are all great. Valet service makes for no hassle parking. Reservations recommended during peak hours.

First thing I noticed when I walked in the door was that this place smells like a grease trap. For those of you fortunate enough to have never worked in the restaurant industry, imagine collecting all the grease you ever use to cook with and storing it in a hole in kitchen floor, and letting it go rancid so that the stench penetrates your entire house, and then imagine eating in the dining room just a few feet away from that dank, rancid hole. Second thing I noticed was the noise level, which was nearly unbearable. I don’t know why designers choose to entirely shun sound absorbent materials when considering a room where people will want to be able to hear each other in conversation over a shared meal. I also don’t know why anyone would choose to have a business meeting here, though I saw several taking place; I hope no one was misheard to the point of a deal going as sour as that grease trap. The third thing I noticed was how dried out the piece of chicken was on my sandwich, and how the attempt to disguise that with spicy coleslaw failed miserably. The burger stack? You’ll definitely find a better, and similarly named item somewhere else in Atlanta. The fries were pretty good, but that one exception to the suppressed retching, and tinnitus inducing experience is not worth a return trip.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to stop when I'm in Atlanta. The Westside burger is amazing, the fries are incredible, and the drinks... perfect! We usually stop for dinner before catching a show or another event, and we're always in and out with perfect timing. The staff are friendly, and the food superb!

Get. The. Burger. It is really affordable and amazing. Very flavorful, great bun, and the fries are delicious. They have a small outdoor seating area, with a large bar inside. They have a unique drink menu and tons of wine. This would be a great date night location or somewhere to bring your clients. Save yourself the headache and use valet.

Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. The atmosphere was a little odd- we sat on the back patio which was nice, but it's a good sized patio and we were the only ones there besides one other two-top table. There wasn't any music and you couldn't hear traffic, so we felt like we had to whisper. Other than that- the service was very good and I will definitely be back for the burger!

The food is great and so is the service. The only issue is parking. It’s a little tricky at times to pull into the valet area. That brings me to another point...they only have valet parking. At certain hours the valet area can be short staffed, which can result in delays if you are in a rush to grab a quick bite. Plan accordingly. The food though makes up for the hassle. By far the best burger in town.

Server seemed disinterested in serving us as two out of three of us were just having drinks. She was kinda dry and short, not very personable. Maybe she was new. We kinda felt like because we didn't order food she didn't care. She watched as we left, then went to check the table. All three of us are bartenders and make sure to take care of our own as a rule, even when service is less than spectacular. Hope the tip teaches her not to judge a book by what they order.

The only reason this establishment is receiving two stars is because the food tastes great. The service on the other hand is well below acceptable. I was with a group of five clean, well dressed individuals. For some reason that wasn’t enough for the host. He never greeted us or even said one word. When we gave him our number of guests, he rolled his eyes and rudely walked us to our table and still never said a word! The host is the face and first impression your restaurant gives a customer. Honestly, the way he treated us you would think a group of loud animals had walked in. Because of the extremely rude staff, we will never be going back.

In my opinion, their double stack burger is the best burger around. Nothing fancy, but cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. The fries are also nice and crispy, which is how I prefer them. No trip here is complete without some deviled eggs to start with! Also highly recommend the brusel sprouts. The blue cheese is a great touch.

My wife and I go here solely for the burger stack. It was one of those things that we discovered on Yelp originally and they had a hundred and thirteen photos to view. 92 of them aware of the burger stack. We took this to me and it was very good so we tried. And man where we impressed. One of the best burgers I've had in my life. Their parmesan garlic fries are fantastic hand-cut and crispy. The burger with homemade pickles and thin patties is still extremely flavorful and delicious. We get ours west side Style which adds just that extra bit of crunch from the lettuce and tomato and grilled onions. They are open for lunch and dinner but due to how busy they get at lunch they don't offer the grilled onions on the burger. Not a deal-breaker but definitely something to note as these add so much flavor to the Burger in my opinion.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing dinner here. They completely messed up two orders that were very simple and hard to messs up. (Wrong sides and incorrectly cooked steaks) They did not remedy the problem or bring the correct food. One dish came out after two of the four people eating were finished. They did not give a significant apology and did not comp anything or offer to do so. Sadly, I would not recommend Bocado until they have figured out their kitchen issues/ordering issues. The food, however, was good.

The food is delicious, the menu isn't especially deep but it changes frequently which makes up for it. The staff are very polite and it has an outdoor seating area in the back which is really nice when the weather permits. The only downside was the speed of the service which was extremely slow, even with twice as many waitstaff as customers, so if you're in a rush you'd do better to try it another time. Definitely recommended though.

The restaurant was in a spiral before we got there and they never recovered. I called at 1pm to make a reservation for 7:30pm. When we get there, the valet told us the lot was full so "go park somewhere else". Street parking in the rain and $7 later, we walk in to find the reservation wasn't on file. We were re-added to the list, but not seated for an hour, at 8:30pm. At 9, someone took our drink orders (mine was forgotten about and came after the food) and food orders. The manager was involved at many tables this point. Food was delicious, they were out of the special, the drinks were okay (served in odd glassware after they ran out of clean glasses), and the staff was completely overwhelmed. Frustrating and disappointing dining experience for sure!
