This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Live music bar.
I really wanted to listen to some blues music on my short trip to Atlanta and that's how ended up at the Blind Willie's. I didn't try the food the vibe was really nice, the band (Sandra Hall) was great. They have fairly good selection of beer and drinks. The people seemed to enjoy a lot. The service was really good. They apparently have a very good blues roster too. I'd definately go back again & would recommend.
All the best local bands. Good food. No smoke. I thoroughly enjoy every time I come here. By far, my favorite place in Atlanta for blues music.
As a musician & as a listener, I've enjoyed BW's vibe for quite some time; very intimate. Food/cocktails/blues. Come chill sometime.
The food was delicious the music was toe tapping And the crowd was invigorating.
One of the coolest spots in Atlanta for music lovers.
It's a nice blues bar.
Great atmosphere, music, and food. My only suggestion is to go early this place fills up fast!!
Live music every night and the drinks are quite strong
Music straight the people great everything is great
Great music, drink prices are good. Great atmosphere. Closest thing to New Orleans you can get around here.
Good food, good music, good service.
Great place for blues
Great music, cozy vibe
Great blues bar, always have great shows and standing room only crowds. Come early to get a seat. One of the best venues for live blues in Atlanta!
A classic American Blues room
I love Willie's, they get some great bands in here, and it's been spreading the gospel of the blues to Atlanta for 30 some-odd years
Good place that's been in the neighborhood for decades. It's time to get with the times however and move the smoking / smokers outside.
Great place however if you get there too late a seat can be hard to come by.
Fun times 10
Awsome
Comfortable atmosphere, good food, and great blues.
This little place had great service, good food and entertainment.
I had a great time! The place is a little tight- like most blues joints. The music was great; the food I could do without, service is wonderful as are the drinks. There is a cover charge of $12 I believe and the drinks are a little high $8 or so.
Great venue to hear blues. Food served is decent. If a big name you must get there early. Mostly valet parking.
Live blues all the time. Great place.
Great local and regional blues acts. Good drink prices and food. Plenty of seating for all but the most popular acts.
Real atmosphere and music is absolutely the best. Prices are fair and drinks are not watered. A+
Love it, as a concierge have sent many guests, always a positive review
Always live music!!! If you love the notes, you're missing out and that's cheating yourself! Always a place to sit!!! Always a cheap cover!!! Plenty to choose from on draft!!! Great staff, friendly and attentive!!! Located on North Highlands with all the other bars... The BBQ pork sandwich had an awesome Memphis, Tennessee flavor! Gang, Gang!
My visit here started off a little rocky but by the end, turned out a great evening! Jimmy (Spike) had excellent hospitality even coming out from behind the bar to ensure everything was good! I appreciated that & his service. The Cajun wings were crispy & just right! Chelsea was the server & by the end of evening I was thoroughly satisfied. This place is down home, very warm & friendly Big Bill sang his heart out! The band was very entertaining! I’ll definitely go back!
Great blues music
This place really is a hidden gem in Atlanta. It's big enough that you can fit in enough people without feeling cramped but small enough that you still feel like you're in this underground dive bar. The atmosphere is eclectic with lots of New Orleans/Mardi Gras decorations. They do serve a limited food menu of mostly Cajun/Louisianian cuisine (think Cajun Catfish, Cajun Wings, Red Beans and Rice (EXCELLENT!), Jambalaya, Gumbo, Sweet Potato fries) and cheap drinks (Sweetwater, Anita, Yuengling on Draft, plenty others in bottles plus wines, ciders - I saw one woman with a martini glass but didn't see that on the menu). The music was excellent and not too loud to enjoy. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was busy although not crowded. I notice several group of 6 or more. Most like to sit and enjoy the music but a few were dancing. There are stools at the bar but there is still room for you to go up and order. Overall a very nice musical experience in the heart of Atlanta. (FYI there is a paid parking lot across the street (cattacorner really). $5 for 2 hours cash or card with Wells Fargo ATM on site.) Addendum: two people lit up cigarettes toward the end of our evening and completely ruined the night. I can't stand places that allow smoking (you should not subject all your customers to the perils of cigarette smoke against their will - it was not known that this was a smoking establishment) and therefore I downgrade my rating from a 5 to a 3.
Pretty crowded. Paid 12 dollar cover to hear the jazz band. Nice atmosphere. Will return
Great music and a very relax place
Excellent!
Hella good time
The very best live venue for blues music! Awesome!
Food is standard bar food, nothing to get overly excited about. Stingy on the drink pour. The music is always great though. They allow smoking inside this tiny club so just know you will leave smelling like a whole ash tray. Very mixed crowd, all races and ages which I enjoyed. I would go more often but the smoking makes it hard for me to tolerate more than an hour of exposure. Go for GREAT Blues Music and a nice mix of people.
Love going there. Great blues and always a good time.
This place is rad if you love the blues! Saw the legendary Shadows with Sandra Hall. What a treat!
Best Blues Joint in Atlanta !!!
Cool vibe, and great venue for live music. Get there early or you’ll be standing.
I rarely write reviews but this place totally deserves it. For lovers of blues, this is a must visit! The Cazanovas band played some absolutely soul stirring music. Don’t miss Blind Willie’s when in Atlanta, if blues is your thing.
Nasty owner...people uptight. MUSIC GOOD...UBER DRIVERS BETTER
Love this place. Intimate setting with good music.
Just needs to close down or get a bigger establishment. Black people who thinks they're business righteous needs to take classes on business owning. Music is good is what that one star is about.
The wait staff is great. The music the night I went was more like rock and roll than blues, and it was way, way too loud.
Went here on a first date cand left with a new girlfriend. Awesome music...the live jazz was great
Last night I saw Frankie's Blues Mission play, and they were great. Thanks, guys, your blues really lifted my spirits.
Great Down Home Spot
Came alone without reservation and was somehow let it without problems. However, bigger groups of people trying to get in (mainly tourists) were told the wait is 2.5 hours which clearly wasn’t the case as the bar was half full during my time there
One of my favs!!!
I love the food and the people who work here! The only thing I don't like about this place is that it gets very loud and it can become hard to talk to people with all the loud noises. Otherwise, I love this place and I hope to keep coming back for as long as I can!
The music was great, the seating was very limited. They had tables and chairs directly in front of the bathroom doors so every time someone had to go to the bathroom we had to get up and move so they could get into the bathroom. That was gross, smelling the toilet every time someone used the bathroom. The red beans and rice was good however the chicken wings were over cooked and dry. The service was slow but the waitress was nice but seemed to be overworked and a little stressed out.
The older male bartender with glasses is terrible. Stood there for 10 minutes just to order a beer on a Wednesday night, was ignored repeatedly by the bartender and the bar wasn’t busy.
Music is great! The smoke sucks! About 1 in 10 people were smoking. It would be way more enjoyable if the proprietor kindly asked the 10% to smoke outside.
Real cool place but limited seating, food prices are ok but could be better. The entertainment is awesome though, really interactive with the artist.
First time in Atlanta and the Blind Willie's was a place that I had my eyes on for awhile. First exposed to the restaurant on food network and as a die hard foodie, I had to go.
Cajun dry-rub WINGS
Love this place
Awesome blues club. Got to see Chris Smither here. Awesome show, awesome place. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed the blues band. Server was excellent. Cover fee a little high. $15 per person.
Nice! Great crowd and music. Food is not what you go there for.
Service and food is good..The space is kind of small..but its still nice and the live music is great.
It gave me a Goodfellas vibe since it reminded me of the Bamboo Lounge. Loved the set up they have going on along with the dimmed lights behind the bar. The atmosphere was great along with the music being played. Would def come back soon to enjoy myself
Great music, good drinks, decent food
Dropped in for a pint, friendly staff and plenty of seats. Music on stage wasn’t great though (but Tuesday night acts are never headliners!)
We got here abiua 8:15. Waited for about 8 minutes before anyone greeted us. We paid $12 to get in. We ordered wine. The waitress never asked us if we wanted to order food nor did she tell us that the kitchen would be closing at 8:30. We decided why we wanted to eat around 8:45 only to be informed that the kitchen closed ay 8:30. Like really... We asked to sleak to the manager, come to find out the cook was the manager. He refused to even cook us an order of fries. I will never step foot back in this place again. Maybe if we we're white we would have gotten better service.
Great place for Music and socializing. Good food
This is a fun spot and the place to be!
Great house band and great visiting acts. Good live blues and jazz.
I love this place. Reasonable prices for drinks and food great music. I would love to hear Sweet Betty a lot more though, she's amazing.
Amazing blues food and booze!
The music was great last saturday and the atmosphere was very old school and comfortable. Unfortunately, the cover was 15 which was a bit too steep for me and my friends. Service was also good, our waiter Kelsey was adorable and patient with some of my more difficult friends, and always paid us adequate attention despite the place being packed. Overall, good food (except for the red beans and rice) would not recommend, to spicy, but good environment and best blue place. Will definitely be coming back soon !
Good vibes and cheap drinks
Omg
Enjoying an evening with the parents, while listening to Sandra Hall in the shadows.
Always great music and Red Beans & Rice!
Live music every night, love this place!!
Great place! I have heard the name for years and it lived up to the hype. I highly recommend going.
Band was so good the night we visited. Will definitely return when I visit Atlanta again.
A true blues club; the blues spirits are here. It has just the right vibe. And as a food reviewer, I must say the Jambalaya is fantastic.
Best blues music in the ATL!
Great place to listen to blues in a casual and comfortable athmosphere.
Tuesday / Wednesday night Blues is excellent... Look on their website for Andrew Black.... So that day...
Good music Good drinks Good food
Great music....a revolving bunch of talented musicians and let's not forget the Blues Dancers.
The cover is a tad high, but the music is always good and the drinks are reasonable. Great local spot that's always a blast.
Lots of fun. Great blues!
This is the place to be on a Friday, Saturday..any evening in Virigina Highlands. I wanted to show a friend from out of town one of the many different fun places for nightlife in ATL. It's a casual, relaxed, fun atmosphere. Just grab a table (come early on the weekends!), enjoy your drink and the live music. The crowd was great and up for having a good time. This was evidenced by a) the couple who was killing it on the dance floor and b) the rest of the bar joining them.
Best place for live blues in metro atlanta.
Awesome live music great And good food
Great live music
So much fun! I dont recommend the food but I do recommend the drinks, people and music!
very nice place to relax and listen to live music, food and drinks are good
Went to Blind Willies last nite ( Thurs). Not much of a crowd, but the band was KIKIN.The rythum section was TITE, and Kenny and the harp player were SMOKIN!! Spike the bartender & owner was a real personable fella. I was treated like one of the regulars even though it was my 1st time there. I will certainly make Blind Willies my 1st stop next time I;m in Atlanta....
Absolutely loved this place! Would recommend it to anyone who just wants to relax and have a good time. Very entertaining and amazing music
This fantastic bar has a great vibe to it, authentic, cozy, and comfortable. There is wonderful live music (blues), and the bartender is great. Bathroom is small and off the main area, and the place is a little worn, but that just adds to the heat atmosphere.
Love love this venue the best of all the live blues venues!
Favorite little blues bar
I went for my birthday Saturday the music was good but the customer service was horrible I had to pay $20 they would not wait on us watriess was very rude when we finally got a watriess she stated that "she thought we were already taken care of" yea because we had to get our own drinks then they were out of hot wings she apologized then she came back said the kitchen was closed we ended up going to Majestic Diner I will never go back to their establishment again
I love Blind Willie's. A good place to let your hair done, listen to some dam good blues and have a good time.
Some of the best live music Atlanta has to offer.
Excellent music. I have usually gone on late Saturday nights. The venue has been extremely crowded when I go, but it is worth it with the talent they book there. They have decent craft beer selection along with the usual well drinks and domestic brews.
I haven't been here in 25 years, but I still remember it as the best nights out ever. Luther the Houserocker Johnson was amazing.
This place is plain awesome!
This was my first time in this place and i have to say I really enjoyed it, The food was good and I enjoyed the music. Mrs. Beneverly sanded and played her butt off, by the way she is 80 and amazing. My only tiny issue is that they need more waitresses, I would definitely recommend and will be returning.
