Great food and service. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Food is fresh and cooked perfectly. I love the lunch fish and chips personally. The lunch tacos are also incredible. My wife loves their salads. Look forward to trying at night and getting a big streak!

This is a nice spot that's kid friendly. It's a bit on the small on the interior it that doesn't affect the quality of the customer service what so ever. There's a nice variety of adult beverages lol but be warned the bar tenders aren't great at mixing the drinks labeled "new" so there's going to be a lot more alcohol in those lol. The only real complaint I have is that my steak was over cooked. I asked for medium rare and got the other side of medium close to well done. Hence the four stars and not five. All in all it's a nice new restaurant, lots of potential and a staff that wants to succeed. I recommend you try it out.

We thought we would try this "hidden gem" for lunch. One would think I'd learn to stop believing reviews in this area, but here we are at another four+star reviewed less than stellar eatery. For a start, the place and decor are tired! The dark mushroom and black color scheme does nothing for the appetite. Combine that with a desperate need for a paint job and a really deep clean, and I felt disappointment before I even sat down. Cloth table coverings don't do much to boost the atmosphere when they're covered in paper. I'm not sure how some people are getting "romantic" from the ambiance; it's anything but! The menu features a variety of Mediterranean choices--one of my favorite cuisines. The hummus was surprisingly good (thankfully). The Naan was soft and tender on our appetizer, and while likely not traditional, I did enjoy the celery and carrots (except for the one obvious bad one that shouldn't have been served) as an addition. Given that it wasn't busy when we were there, I would have expected it to be much faster, but service was slow. I had a gyro. Again a disappointment. There was not an appropriate amount of meat on the sandwich, and it was drowning in tzakis. The hot meat melted the sauce making the overcooked naan soggy and cold inside while dry, tough, and crumbly outside. The meat itself appeared to be frozen and finished on a grill rather than on a traditional gyro rotisserie leaving the meat greasy. My husband had fish and chips. The chips didn't make an appearance as they brought onion rings by mistake. While the promise of a fix was made, we eventually gave up on the hope of fries. That may have been a blessing though as the onion rings were actually one of the better things we tried. The fish, on the other hand, was pretty uninspired. He ordered it "extra crispy," but what he received was heavily breaded, and while cooked and not doughy, was horribly soggy and unappealing. It too seemed like a frozen product, just finished up in a fryer. Nothing was truly horrible, but honestly nothing was anywhere near the 4.3 stars this place has received here.

Came here with family and it was fair at best. I was recommended the blackened Mahi Mahi which, when it came, was just a piece of fish in a non-descript sauce. I believe they've had a change of chef (who evidently didn't know what blackened means) so give it a few weeks while he learns his trade.

Anyone with a brain can manage. But when you meet adversity and can fix it while keeping customers happy that's what makes someone a Manager that knows how to operate and lead their people!! Tony is great! Our whole dinner was great after he fixed a slight hiccup from the kitchen. Besides Tony bring awesome, our server Blake was great too! I look at negative reviews and wonder if they gave the establishment a chance? We will be back!!

Love the food here and the service. Everyone is so nice. I pray for the day they get a larger venue because this placed is busy. Don't miss out on Taco Tuesday! Their mahi mahi is amazing!! One of these days I will be able to experience their outside seating. Every time I ask, the host says no even if I see free tables out there. And one more thing, try to get seated near the bar because the other area is like a freezer. Bring a jacket just in case!

We drove from Peachtree City for a quick drink because the website said they were open until 11:00 pm...nope. Got there at 10:38 pm and the doors were locked. Called and was told they are closed. Nonsense.

We love Big Joes! You cant beat 50 cent wing nights on Monday. Their wings are huge & you can be as picky as you want. We went as a big group & had someone order basically 2 of every flavor & they did it with no complaint. The staff is friendly & attentive, the food is good, & the beer is cold! :)

The name conjured images of bar first, food (distant) second. However, it was an excellent blend of a neighborhood bar and a very nice restaurant. The menu offering (at the time) was a mix of Mediterranean and domestic dishes. The service was excellent. I will definitively return on my next visit.

First visit for us. The was four of us, three humans and our small, well mannered dog. We sat on a fantastic patio. The food was superb and the server was even better. I hope we will get to visit in the future. YES, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Subpar food and they don't season it either. Spending the day with my wife and I had to experience that. Food is also overpriced for the quality that you get. The only bright spot is the customer service. However, the wait staff did not match the servers in attire. It seemed like a scene from Kitchen Nightmares. Fried Green Tomatoes taste better. Stay away!!!

Not a family friendly place by any means. The waitress that we had talked to me as if I was a bumb right out of the gate. She was so smug and rude about a simple question regarding the kids menu. The atmosphere is just not good and neither is the food. If I could give zero stars I would. There is no manager on duty ever according to the waitress we had so dont bother trying to get any assistance from anyone in charge. I gave this place a try because I live close and like to support the local businesses and I am not that hard to please but Big Joe's is not a family friendly community place to eat. Who ever the owner of this place is they need to train there staff on customer service.

We went here last night for the first time and was disappointed. It was very crowded and we were seated outside on the patio. While there is no smoking inside they allow it outside. There was a lady smoking and a gentleman smoking a cigar and the smell was horrible. Everytime they seated anyone by him they ask to be moved and two sets of customers moved while we were there. There are 2 small fans on the patio and there needs to be ceiling fans instead to keep the air circulating and I think that would help with the smoking issue. It was very busy and the wait staff seems overworked and we had to wait awhile to be acknowledged before placing our order. The food was good and hot but the overall experience wasn't. It was pricey for what we had and the smoking was a huge issue for me. My husband and I don't smoke and I for one don't want to eat dinner with someone smoking at the next table beside me. We won't go back here again.

We really liked the fact that we could take our dogs. Unfortunately the steak we ordered medium rare was more than well done. The waitress didn't come back until after we'd finished our meals so we didn't bother to complain. If the service had been better and the food had been cooked property I would have given them five stars.

A local chain steakhouse was overpacked, so we decided to try Big Joe's. We were greeted promptly and everyone was very friendly. Our waiter was having to serve inside on the opposite side of the patio as well as the patio patrons. We saw him three times while we were seated. I waitress for a other table was more attentive. He did not inform us of the specials. Seasoning was minimal. Beef tips were tender and delicious, but was not given an option of gravy or sauce. Sat with empty glasses for over 15min. Husband's food was delicious a d the kids meal was huge for the price, which was a benefit. If they expect people to pay their prices, an improved menu/meal plan and properly training/placing staff would be a plus. Overall good, but not enough for us to return.

Local favorite! This place rocks, the specials change often and they try a lot of different things - this keeps it fun to keep coming back to try new delicious meals. Staff is always friendly and happy to help with suggestions. Great beer, wine and drink selection. Update, a year later and my opinion still stands. We keep coming back. The shrimp & grits special I had over the weekend was absolutely delicious. Service was still as good as ever.

Ok this rating is because I am upset that I ordered something expecting it to be the same as it was when I had previously ordered it. I had an off the menu soup that was amazing. I told everyone at my job about it because we do have catered lunches and this would have been a possible place to start ordering from. When I went to pick up my second order for myself and three other people I was upset that the flavor was different as well as different and missing ingredients. When I called to complain the hostess stated that comes with the territory when you have more than one chef and when dealing with mom and pop versus frozen bagged soup from a big chain restaurant. She went on to tell me that she had some that morning and it was similar to the previous batch.. very upsetting. My bowl was full of fat instead of steak. I paid almost 12.00 for a tiny bowl of fat and potatoes and side salad... won't be returning ever.

I really wanted to like this place, but it was not a good experience. The fish and chips, advertised as cod, was made from thin gray pieces of fish that we smelled before it was even set on the table. The turkey Ruben was made from processed packaged turkey (round) and was completely tasteless. Juicy tacos made with shrimp were ok as were fries and onion rings. On the plus side the hostess and our server were both friendly and efficient. Unfortunately not enough good reasons to go back. I'm afraid we're not the only ones disappointed as the parking lot after church was practically empty. Too bad.

Went to Big Joe's last night just to kill a little time while my daughter was in gymnastic class across the street. I wasn't very hungry so my friend and I just decided to just split an appetizer. Our server suggested the stuffed mushrooms and they were fabulous!! The staff is very friendly and it took no time at all for the appetizer to come out. We liked it so much that we ordered the smoked salmon dip appetizer and it was equally as wonderful!! Going to Big Joe's today for lunch to try the fish & chips!! Can't wait

Beyond disappointed! My husband and I have been there before and were always pleased with the food and service. So went for dinner Saturday night with another couple, the place was NOT busy - several tables were open. After being sat and not greeted, the hostess offered to get waters while we waited for our server - 10 minutes later, we finally got the water. The server - Seth - was completely dishevelled and sweating profusely which of course was very unappealing. We placed drink orders and an appetizer order - another 10-15 minutes before we got our drinks. The hostess popped over again and said "did you get the appetizer" - she assumed when we said yes that the appetizer had been delivered even though nothing was on the table??? Finally we get the avocado salad which looked more like chunky guacamole but without the salsa. The real mess was our entrees - of the four of us - (3) were wrong! I got the wrong steak and it was completely overcooked, my husband ordered the special "whole" snapper and got a filet and our friend ordered a medium rare NY strip and it was way overcooked. Seth took everything back and said "Joe" would be out to see us. We waited and yet - NO Joe! We finally got our dinners - I got my filet which to compensate for the overcooked steak was now rare instead of medium rare, but we went ahead and ate because by now we had been there for over 2 hours! When we asked where Joe was - we were told he was too busy to come out - really? There was one large party on the patio that was just arriving!!! We got no apology, we were offered NOTHING but a bunch of excuses! I am beyond disappointed and can say with certainty - none of us will ever be back! I've worked in restaurants for years - I'm always very sympathetic when I see a place slammed - but this was nothing but a poor excuse for horrible service and so-so food!

Not terrible but not impressed. The chair was so small, not comfy. We ordered a draft pitcher, the server brought the empty glasses. one was cold, but the other was so warm to fill the beer. Ordered crispy calamari for appetizer, that was not crispy as described on the menu, just soggy and wet with oil, we complained, and they did fry again. My crab cake was not bad, but the wings for my husband were very dry and flavorless. One was ok, but the other was not ok. We don't wanna go back.

Unprofessional. You don’t close early just because you feel like it. I arrived 30 minutes before closing and the restaurant was dark and closed with all chairs put up. Was obviously closed long before I got there. The staff was on the porch hanging out. Confused.

Not bad but not great for the money you pay. The fish and chips were tasty with the tartar sauce/vinegar dip. The tacos were a little questionable as they seemed dry and not particularly tacos. I will say the sauces on side for them are really awesome but the main meat preparation was just odd in being dry and mainly based on putting seasoning on them. I had the steak tacos.

$23 for flavorless scallop and shrimp pasta that wouldn't have filled up a baby. Portions were terrible. Veggies were terrible. Shrimp was over cooked. My parents food was dull and thrown together. None if us enjoyed any of it. Should have saved $80 and went to Macdonalds or cooked at home for the quality of food and service we recieved. Waiting staff was incredibly rude and unattentive - walking away from our table when speaking to them, put the plates down in the middle of the table and walked away. Really bad overall, I have no idea how this place has 4+ stars. Newnan should raise their standards, will never be returning.

We went on Saturday night. They weren't busy at all. There was no waiting to be seated. It was our first time being there. After our food came out, our waitress was very slow in responding. Another waitress came by to help us on two occasions. And then after bringing our bill, we waited and waited to have it picked up. Our waitress came back by and said did I being your check? I pointed to it and said yes right there. It was standing on the table with the card sticking out for all to see. The food was fresh cooked. So it was very hot. We both ordered the seafood platter. All the food tasted the same. Hardly any independent flavors. All the breading was the same, and tasted like it had all been cooked together. The fish did have a little "fish" flavor, but mostly tasted like the shrimp and scallops. There was a very distinct flavor in our crab cake that was unpleasant. So all in all it wasn't what we expected and definitely not for the price. I'm very doubtful that we well be back.

You walk into what appears to be a fine dining experience, but the staff is dressed casually. Their wine list ranges from super affordable to fine wine, I didn't look at the beer list. The staff is super attentive but not overbearing. The food is good too. The only negative is that I had searched the menu for the price to add on salad, and it wasn't listed. The server asked if we'd like to start with a salad but didn't mention the upcharge. Maybe part of the fine dining experience, but would've been nice to know ahead of time.

My boyfriend and I went once probably about a year or so ago. They might have new management now and things could be completely different but the experience was so bad that we have not since returned. 1st we walked in the door and it took probably 20 mins before anyone came to the hostess stand. Then once we were finally seated it took almost an hour before anyone saw to our order (bare in mind the place was empty besides us and maybe one other couple). THEN when we finally received our food probably another hour later I had paid $12 for 8 lemon pepper wings and they had almost no flavor. I don't recall what he ordered but needless to say it wasn't good. I never make reviews like this because I work in the restaurant and customer service industry and I know what it is like to get backed up and not have enough staff. But even if there were only two people in the whole restaurant working then one of them surely could have made the food (for four people) while the other made sure we had drinks and that we knew that there was a wait and at least apologize for the wait.

I like to give credit where credit is due. The Ruben sandwich was good. My daughter said she liked the crab cakes. However the kabobs were tough and fatty. The veggies were flavorless. The chicken tenders were awful no flavor tasted as they were fried in old grease. My daughter found a hair in them. The coating tore our mouths up (the couple of bites that we did take) The most disappointing part of our visit was our server. She came off as very rude. This was our first visit here and it will definitely be our last.

I ordered the lemon pepper chicken. It was absolutely delicious! I did get the wine sauce it comes with on the side. I tried the wine sauce and I'm glad I did not get it on my chicken. The entree was very well proportioned. It was my first time there and I'm currently traveling around (about 5k miles so far) but this has to be one of the two best meals I've had so far.

Great food, great service. I had the Cuban sandwich off the lunch menu. Huge sandwich more than your normal lunch portion. Nice atmosphere, would be cute for a weekday date night.
