Me and my family... are saying the same thing... THIS PLACE IS BETTER THAN GOLDEN CORRAL!!! It might have alot more food variety... but this GOOD COUNTRY EATING fill up our SOUL!!! it sucks that we were just passing through... but will remember to come back WHEN WE PASS THROUGH AGAIN!!

The staff must sit around & write the 4 & 5 star reviews because they damn sure don't check on their customers. Home cooking? Really? Nope, if that's home cooked food, your parents neglected you, that comes from My 12 year old daughter. Worst buffet & service in middle Georgia. Keep up the good work, consistency counts! The chicken tastes more fishy than the fish!

We haven't been here in awhile because the quality of the food had gone down hill. Sunday lunch was good. We had whole fried catfish, chicken tenders, fried and baked chicken. There was squash, green beans, corn and fried green tomatoes. Plus banana pudding and peach cobbler. The cornbread was a little dry and hush puppies were over fried, too much crispy crust.

I found this place while traveling from Chicago to Florida... I've been looking for a good county home cooking place for hours and I found it!! Everything was delicious and for under $10 I'm impressed.The staff was very nice... My only suggestion is bring a sweater

My whole family loves 478 country buffet! They have a good variety of foods to choose from which is great. Lots of veggies, usually fried chicken and at least one other meat, salad, fruits, and dessert. Tget always have peach cobbler and it's really good. I love that they have healthy items The staff are always really nice and the restaurant and restrooms are clean. I also love the customer rewards. You get a punch card and after its filled you get 2 buffets for 10 dollars! Also be sure to give them your cell number to get happy monday coupons each week. (Its 2 buffets for 10 dollars every monday!)

Very friendly Korean lady greeted us when we came in the door. My husband thought he walked into a Chinese restaurant by mistake. She made us feel welcome and at home. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the fried pork chops and chicken thighs and my husband couldn't stop eating the gizards. He said they were warm and very tender.

The waitstaff are courteous and friendly but the food isn't good. I've been twice just in case the first time was a bad day, but the second time was just as bad. The food is bland. The dressing was runny with no seasoning. I really wanted to give this place a better rating due to their great service, but this is not how country food is supposed to taste.

My friends and I ate there yesterday about 3pm. The food was fresh and seriously delicious!! The restaurant is not fancy but it was clean and the staff were very friendly. Next time we're at this plaza, we will definitely eat here again.

I did have a 5 star review 3 months ago so that should say how long I've been coming at minimum. Well this was a different experience all together. We got our buffets to go as it was Pork chop dinner we stopped by to grab food on my husband and I way home from work. It wasn't ready when we arrived so I asked the lady cook how long it would be she just said a few minutes ok no problem. She came back out with chicken after 8 minute's and my husband was getting impatient so I asked her once again and then she replied chicken. I said yes ma'am but how long on the pork chops and she repeated chicken as I was standing and waiting for them to bring the pork chops out. I hear and see and the same lady in the back in Spanish say these fat lazy people. Well that was uncalled for so she stepped back out after a few minutes with another pan of chicken and I asked again. She then just says Chicken so because she speaks Spanish and so do I I asked about how long on the Pork Chops and excused her for assuming others can't speak Spanish. Well that was a dear in head lights she stopped paused and went to the back and then a guy came out a few minutes later with sides still no pork chops this is 23 minutes later that a different person comes out with pork chops. If your staff is going to be of Hispanic descent please advise them that because people may not look like them doesn't mean that they don't understand what there saying. To the staff member I recommend that you don't judge others if you don't want to be judged.

Pretty awesome place. They have a bar with southern foods like fried chicken and pork chops,cabbage,mac and cheese,greenbeans etc. They also have a salad bar and dessert bar. They're sweet tea is delicious.

I came in on Sunday to eat and the girl behind the register was on her phone while it was busy. Another girl with blonde hair was standing there doing nothing. I watched a dark haired girl and another girl working and running fast to take care of it all. Not only was the girl behind the register on her phone, but she was rude to me. I left and felt sorry for the rest of the staff. Those girls were doing all of the work. I felt like i was ignored on purpose and then others were left behind at the register. I heard the blonde and the girl behind the register gossiping about the 2 who were actually working. It discusted me and after waiting 15 mins and watching this i left. Terrible service on behalf of the one left at register and the one standing there doing nothing. I will not be back. Shame on you for allowing this

Glad it closed so we could get another place to eat. The food was terrible.. overcooked or just dried out from sitting so long. If you went 1 to 2 HRS before closing time the Buffett would be half full ( they would say no more was being prepared ) but they would charge full price. It's now Georgia Bob's.. I give 5 stars

Ate lunch on Sunday. Prior to going I downloaded a menu online and found out it was out of date when I arrived. It would be nice if they would post the daily menu on line like its sister Fried Green Tomatoes. The food was good. However the cashier was anything but pleasant. Hard to believe these two restaurants are part of the same company. Everyone at FGT are nice and smiling. One person can make the experience sour.

The fried fish is the best. I also have a special place in my heart for the peach cobbler. I travel to Atlanta from Jacksonville and I made a stop here seatching food good cooking and I wasn't disappointed. I filled up a to go plate and now stop thru often just for the eats.

Today was the first time my fiance and I ate at the Country Buffet and we would like to tell everyone that may be from this area or not that we recommend that you stop by and give them a try. If you like down home cooked Southern food, ( the way your grandma use to cook), then this is the best place to eat. Excellent service, food, and relaxing atmosphere. So if you would like to travel back in time to grandma's kitchen for those good ole Sunday dinners, then this is the place for you and your family. We give them 5 stars.

Ran out of some foods at dinnertime. When i asked they acted like i was a bother. The peach cobbler is rubbery and nothing like true southern cobbler . The ice cream is in buckets that people scoop out themselves. That to me is very unsanitary considering peoples hands could end up touching the ice cream.

Food was mediocre. Stomach was upset afterwards!! Had to have been the cheap box rice they try to pass off as a broccoli rice casserole. Limited selection to choose from. Waitresses just stand around looking bored while gossiping about previous coworkers that supposedly "did nothing but sit on their phones for their whole shift." I don't blame them, what are you supposed to do as a wait staff when your only responsibilities are to serve drinks and clean up dishes. They don't even roll silverware! Not impressed. I'd only recommend 478 country buffet to someine who wants a job but is a lazy millennial.

Absolutley the worst bbq ive ever eaten. Two stsrs for the garlic toast and sweet tea. I would have been happier going to Krystal. Absolutely the first and only time i will ever eat at Georgia Bobs. Okra was greasy and the brunswick stew tasted like what dog food smells like. Run as far away as you can. Im not a Shanes fan but even they are better than Georgia Bobs. None of the sauces were worth using and i had to put my not good brunswick stew on the pulled pork just to keep it from being dry. Run away from this place

It's a decent place for a country buffet. Buffet with a drink was a little over 10 dollars. The chicken gizzards and livers were pretty good. I would go there again!

I recently dined at 478 Country Buffet for the first time. It was around 4pm not too packed. Lets start with the food. The rice had to be the driest rice Ive ever eaten. The fried chicken was extremely dry. The pork chops were basically the same texture as beef jerky. The mashed potatoes and gravy turned out to be the best item on the hot bar literally. Peach Cobbler was an 1/8 of an inch thick you couldnt even scoop it from the pan. The salad bar was somewhat decent. The items which were actually refilled were fresh and my salad happened to be the highlight of my meal. Atmosphere wow! If you want to know about the employees shirts and you want to hear about this employee and that employee your entire meal loudly discussed amongst cashier and hollered over to servers, perhaps you'd enjoy it. As for myself I prefer to enjoy my meal without all the gossip and etc of employee uniforms. Entertainment was provided by an employees son approximately 4 years old. From the time we entered the business this fellow was off the charts! Loud, loud and louder. Ripping and running around. In fact while his mother (cashier) was in back talking to the staff the child ran out the front door! Other employees had to run out the door to get him safely!!!!!!!!! The sweet tea was delicious and that's the best part of this visit. For $11 per person to eat I wouldve expected food quality to be up to par but moreso I would not have expected to eat with such ruckus and unprofessionalism. This is surely an establishment I will not return to or recomment to others. Thanks!

Food was GOOD. It tastes clean. I mainly come for the seemingly fresh, minimally handled food. On this visit, during lunchtime on a Wednesday, food was better than any other visit here. This is my first time returning since having regular awful experiences a couple of years ago. I think the best time to come here is around lunch, before 1 pm. I'll be back soon.

Where to begin? I found nothing appetizing about this place. I wish we'd gone back to the nearby Mexican restaurant, but I wanted to give this place a shot. Everything was overcooked, even for a buffet. That stuff that was labeled peach cobbler was a joke. It appeared to have been a former Chinese buffet and some of the food even resembled what I would expect from a Chinese buffet. Very odd. At least the glasses were clean and the water cold...but I can get that at home.

If you have never been to this restaurant you don't know what you been missing . Needless to say I will be back . The price is great where can you go and enjoy a great buffet all you can eat for $7.50 and be so good and delicious .country buffet in Byron ga . Go try it you will love it

I loved this all you can eat, the staff were great and helpful, the food was really good and really reasonably priced too. They have very clean restrooms and they have parking outside including disabled parking. I would definitely recommend the Country Buffet and I will definitely be going back there.

Started out good. Now they don’t seem to care about the customers. One employee was so rude she said she was a manager I don’t think she is the manager. I think the owners sister is the manager. Heard other customers complaining about the food. Our problem was the employee with Dark hair. We refuse to return until she’s gone. It’s started off as. 4 star rating but now the rating is a 1. I know a lot of people and people talk. Many say the food is nasty now .we use to eat here 3 times a week now we refuse to eat here at all. Thumbs down
