We've eaten here twice now and I have enjoyed everything I've ordered. It's flavorful food so if you're not into lots of flavors/seasoning then it's not for you. I would say its the best Mexican food restaurant in the area and I will definitely return. Fajitas, margaritas and the kids options have all been a hit. Our server was also very attentive for our large group and took good care of us. The only thing I would recommend is that management fix the front door from slamming behind every unexpecting patron that enters. It's a bit scary and not the best first impression.

The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with the stone/industrial look and elegant booths. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server and brought drink within 5 minutes of sitting down. The chips and thin and crispy and melt in your mouth delicious. The salsa has a very dense roasted fire taste it that is unlike any salsa I’ve ever tasted. I would take a gallon home if I could. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was thoroughly impressed. The tortillas are hand made from scratch and the chicken was roasted and blackened perfectly. The side of bean had an abundance of flavor and were paired perfectly with the Spanish rice. I will be coming back frequently. The food, atmosphere and service were spot on.

First experience at Uncle Julio's and it was pretty good. The service was great even though their were a few snafus in the kitchen and the food and drinks were great! I don't even like guacamole all that much, but the table side presentation was interesting and it wasn't half bad. It was pretty expensive as far as Mexican food goes but being in Orlando, it was expected. Overall, great experience!

I have worked in hospitality/customer service for 20 years. The food was good, however, it was the worst service I’ve ever encountered. The host did not smile once, she looked/seemed very angry that she had to sit us. Our server greeted us 10 minutes later and acted as if we were an inconvenience to him. We had to ask other servers for a drink refill, utensils, etc. Will not recommend this restaurant and will not return for a second time. Awful customer service.

Food was amazing, partner had bacon wrapped shrimp and I had some chicken (cant even remember the name ) best Mexican food I ever had . Portions were massive and wee nachos you get before you order your food were to die for. Went back 2nd time to get chocolate lovers pinata. For $30 it was the best dessert ever. You get a bat to smash your pinata and all the goodies fall out , mini churros and fresh strawberries. It was very filling so didn't even get to eat the chocolate. Very friendly staff and quick service.

I had the worst experience EVER when I came for my birthday. We were there for 3 hours and only was able to get 2 drinks a piece. The server was very slow and blamed everything on the kitchen and the bartender. My friend ordered chicken tacos with no guacamole. He was given tortillas with nothing inside of them except for cheese and guacamole. My other friend ordered rolled beef tacos with rice. He was given one minuscule spoonful of rice and, I kid you not, EMPTY rolled tortilla shells. Literally nothing was up to par, except for the drinks, which took an hour for each. I've eaten at an "Uncle Julio's" before and loved it. NEVER AGAIN will I even think about visiting this restaurant. The only reason why they aren't getting a single star is because the manager reluctantly gave us a discount. It honestly wasn't even a great discount. He just took off what we didnt eat from the bill along with a free drink.

Ok...guac...was amazing. The service was less than desirable. The restaurant extremely busy and the waitresses were very very stretched. Maybe time to hire more staff?my order was improperly places, card was charged wrong, waited 1 hour to get my food after my order was placed. I did speak to the manager and soon after my food miraculously appeared. My 1st experience at this establishment and although I'll miss the guacamole ...I will not return to this establishment. Service is very important.

Wanted to try this place because it was different & sounded amazing. Walked in to a host who looked like she could care less about being there. Sat us at a table where we waited for ten minutes without a server. Made eye contact with the host several times while waiting thinking she could possibly take the hint. Eventually walked out and went across the street to Yard House, where the server is fantastic.

The food here is amazing! The waiters I’ve had were really great. Every time we have been there the manager has come by and had asked us how we are doing or if we needed anything. If you want something cheaper but filling their chicken tortilla soap is so good, I recommend that! You also get seated pretty quickly if you don’t have a large party.

First time here and my sister in law made reservations for our large party. We arrived in time as our reservation was set for 7:15pm and here we are currently waiting for over an hour and we still have not been seated. If it wasn't that it's my sister in laws birthday and she is looking forward to the chocolate piñata I would have left to eat at another restaurant. They finally seated us at 8:30 and again our reservation was for 7:15. When we got inside they still didn't have enough room for us to sit and the head waiter had the nerve to tell us there was nothing they could do. Once they got their stuff together they took our drink order around 8:40. The drinks started to arrive around 9:20 and they ended up forgetting 2 of our drinks which one of them was for the birthday girl. They took our food order (which we only had 2 waiters for close to 30 people) and it took another 40 mins to arrive. More than half the food orders were cold(which we ordered fajitas which should come out sizzling), the cilantro rice was cold and under cooked and so were the beans. The waiters would come with the food and would start yelling at us to see who ordered what and would hand out the food leaning over the guests. For the money spent I will never come back to this place again. Unprofessional management (as the manager never even came to apologize for our wait time and the mis organization), understaffed and no organization what so ever. If you come with a large party good luck!!!

Great service for a tourist town, and we celebrated my sons birthday here.. I was a little disappointed that they don't come out and sing happy birthday or do a chant. However our waitress sang happy birthday with my family and she brought him the most delicious ice cream you could eat (Vanilla with coconut and pecans). Delicious! Great Food!!! Full disclosure, the chocolate piñata is what Drew us in for a night out. While it was a fun experience, the service and the quality of the rest of the food is what really impressed me. Everything tasted really fresh and we will eagerly return with family and friends (for some more chocolate piñata action). Our order: Guacamole - Super fresh, great flavor. 8/10 Tortilla Soup - Great! 8/10 Shrimp Quesadilla - Amazing and very generous portion size. 10/10 Chocolate Lovers Quesadilla - Honestly more of a visual and entertaining experience than a culinary experience. Really average taste. 6/10. However the overall experience of a chocolate piñata filled with fruit and churros brings this up to a 9/10.

Eat here at your own risk. Had separate tabs for drink and food and all tip was put on one of the cards. The waiter added an unauthorized extra tip to the card that wasn’t used to tip. When I called the restaurant a week or so later the manager assured me the extra charge would be reversed. Two weeks later and no refund has been given. Guess they feel stealing from their customers is acceptable.

We ordered delivery through their website so I can't comment on the restaurants ambience or service but the food was exceptional! We had fajitas with shrimp (combo) and everything was high quality, flavorful, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I love all mexican food, but this was by far the best I have ever had. The portions were hearty and prices reasonable/mid-range. Not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not the place. Great service and wonderful environment. Also very good menu with great selection. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to serve tacos more authentic style with tortillas a little more crispy than soggy and add more flavor to the steak (add cilantro and onions) instead of lettuce.

Also loved the complementary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and light and the salsa was spot on, not too hot with good flavor. Took the wife here to meet up with a bunch of women attending a conference in O-town. Being a local, I wasn't expecting too much from a restaurant in the "tourist area" along I-drive. I think we were both pleasantly surprised at the food quality and service from this establishment. The chicken and steak in the Fajitas for two was cooked perfectly, not overdone. The portions of lettuce, pico, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans were good and it's hard to resist the freshly made flour tortillas to put it all in. Although they were a little on the small side for our liking, I'm sure we could of asked for more if needed. The Swirl, a frozen margarita and sangria drink, was a nice compliment to the meal. The poor waiter did a great job handling the large party at our table. The prices were better than I expected for this part of town. We liked it so much, we plan to come back sooner rather than later.

*BEWARE VEGETARIANS/VEGANS* I’ve been a vegetarian for quite a few years now so eating out can be a problem, typically Mexican is a safe bet because the basis of most of their meals are rice, beans, cheese, etc. There were only 2 vegetarian options on the menu and no vegan that I could see. I ordered the Cheese and Onion enchiladas since it was either that or salad. When I received my food it seemed to just have brown burrito sauce on top, a few bites in I notice something isn’t right and low and behold it is smothered in meat sauce. I wouldn’t be so infuriated if it would have indicated on the menu what it was served with!!! Not to mention the beans it comes with also contains pork which also NOT indicated on the menu.

Date night with hubby so we decided to try Uncle Julio's as it is a new place. We did not wait and were seated right away. Our server Fabian was awesome and was able to make suggestions as we asked him what was good. I really loved their guacamole and their cilantro rice. Their black beans were so flavorful. We did not have enough room for the dessert pinata but we will be going there again with a larger group just for that. This restaurant has been added to our approved list and we will be going again to try something new!

Absolutely loved this place the food was so good. We got the fajitas. The accompaniments with the fajitas were also delicious. One warning, we got the pinata dessert and while it was fun to crack it open, it was huge! Way to big for 4 people would be better for larger groups. GREAT SERVICE! We ordered salmon tacos, shrimp tacos, skirt steak fajita, table side guacamole and steak tacos in lettuce wraps. All meals were tasty and hot. The option of having lettuce wraps is a major plus. Overall for a chain restaurant it delivered what we wanted and we didn’t need to ask for anything! I will definitely return!

Nice atmosphere (Why are all Mexican restaurants dark though?), excellent service from our server Stefany and delicious food. We were celebrating a couple of birthdays, so we got the classic chocolate pinata. It was $25 and we were mostly full already, but what a fun experience! This desert could easily finish off 8 to 10 people comfortably. $25 seems to be a bargain for the experience and the amount of treats that you get.

Awful experience at this location. Manager on duty last night was the main cause. Luckily the GM provided his cards in order to address such a situation. Davin Wall is supposedly this location's GM. I haven't been able to get a response from him despite calling and emailing him consistently for the past 24 hours. As a result I tried to call the corporate location. Now, I haven't received any response either from David Ellis. I wonder how long it will take to get even a response after I paid over $70 for pickup and still have not received my order or the money back.

I go to Uncle Julio’s on a regular basis because I work in the same place as the Orlando Eye. Anyone that works in the area is supposed to get a discount on any food place in Icon Park. I just had the worst experience and you lost a great customer. It’s not even about the money it’s the way how the manager went about the situation. Usually I call ahead for a to go order because I don’t have the time to sit and wait for food. Today I went in to pick up my to go order and usually it’s the same nice girl or guy at the bar that knows what I look like and calls the manager over to input the 50% discount they ALWAYS give me on my food. I cannot stress this enough on how many times I’ve been to Uncle Julio’s and I’ve paid no more than $9 for my food. I go in there ALL the time. The guy who’s at the bar is someone I’ve never seen before and I tell him about the discount and he goes and calls the manager. I literally sat there waiting 10 minutes for this fat bald guy to come that’s the manager on duty. During the 10 minutes that I’m sitting there waiting the bartender apologizes to me multiple times because I was waiting so long. So the guy that’s on duty as manager today on 08/04/2019 around the time of 8:10 he was very rude to me. When he came up to me he asked me what’s up and I told him I usually get a discount as I tried to explain to him the discount I get everytime I come in there. So he says oh okay and applies a discount, hand me the receipt and then leaves. I look at the receipt and he only took $4 off my food. So at this point I’m already annoyed because he had me waiting a long time just for him to take $4 off a $17 meal that ended up being $14.55 with tax so it was like he didn’t take anything off to begin with. So I asked the bartender to call him back and he says okay. He finally comes back after a few minutes. So as I’m trying to talk to him about the 50% discount I always get he CONSTANTLY cuts me off every time to tell me that that isn’t something the managers are supposed to do.. when I’ve been to Uncle Julio’s 15+ times and EVERY single manager that I’ve met since I been working in the area has given me the same discount EVERY SINGLE TIME. HE WAS SO RUDE AND WOULDN’T GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO TALK. So as of today I’ll never go there again because of him. It’s not even about the money it’s about the experience. I’m the customer and I should’ve never been treated that way ESPECIALLY not by some delinquent manager. Everyone there is usually nice to me.. but this guy was very rude and I should’ve gotten his name but I was tired of him interrupting and being rude I didn’t even bother to get it.

We had an outstanding 2 meals at Uncle Julio's while we were in Orlando. We stopped by the first night to try out the Chocolate Piñata, but ended up having such a large and delicious meal that none of us had any room. A few days later we came back for drinks, appetizers and to have the Chocolate Piñata and it was well worth it. The service staff both nights were outstanding, friendly and very attentive. If you're in the area, I'd give Uncle Julio's my highest recommendation for a meal or just for drinks. If we're ever in the area again we'll be coming back!

I really enjoyed my dinner here. The salsa was great, my entree came out quickly and was seasoned well. My soup was amazing with just the right amount of spice. The wait staff was polite and charming. Good service and excellent food!!

The atmosphere is nice here, and the guacamole is amazing. The waiter was nice but other than I probably wouldn't go back. The food was okay. My boyfriend ended up running to the restroom and getting sick within an hour of leaving the place. My flautas wear super crispy almost burnt. The server must have messed with the tip or something because I was charged more than what I thought I paid while there. An extra 10 dollars was added somewhere. Anyway, I might order the guacamole to go. But won't be dinning in.

The fire roasted salsa is amazing. The chicken Fajitas were a huge portion. The chocolate piñata was an amazing ending for a birthday dinner.

Drinks were good. Food was horrible, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. First go around it was barely warm.. Sent it back and wasn't much better I ate 3 bites of a bland chicken enchilada. Don't eat here.

Had reservations for months, still waited 1/2 hour definitely not worth the food or service. Glasses always empty. Certainly wish I would of went somewhere else. However, daughters 16th birthday and wanted to EXPERIENCE the Volcano. Dont waste your $ if you want GOOD MEXICAN FOOD N SERVICE.

Best guacamole ever! Highly recommend making a stop to Uncle Julio's! The portions are HUGE. Our biggest problem is we always want to try the chocolate pinata and we never have room for dessert. We went and shared the guacamole and quesadillas. We had leftovers, and were still too full for dessert. First world problems!

My group and I were visiting from Wilmington NC and we couldn’t have had a better experience. The food and the service was great. I would recommend this to anyone in that area. We had David as our waiter and he was awesome. One of the better Tex-mex places I have been to. Wish we had one in Wilmington.

Great atmosphere and fun place to hang out with friends and family. Food was out real quick and drinks were great. Only negative I can think of was that the hostess out front that sits you didn’t even acknowledge me but I quickly saw the people I was meeting at a table and walked right in. Overall, great place, will be back!

I’ve been to this place more than once, because I think their food tastes extremely fresh and unique. I definitely recommend everyone to try their quesadillas because their tortillas are BOMB!!. I rather sit outside so I can have the view of the Orlando eye and live music of the place, also I think inside sitting its to cold AC too high. The only reason why I cannot give this place a five star is because of the service, for some reason the server barely take care of their tables and I kind of feel behind or forgotten every time I go there, but as I just said I love their food and the is the main reason why I always come back.

Amazing service and great Mexican food. My family and I had enchiladas, fajitas and a queso. Tortillas are fresh and yummy! Multiple times throughout our dinner we were asked by manager and our waitress if anything was needed. Comforting especially when you have kids.

Its not that food bad,but I ordered the Fajta and the portions you got $24 was not that big.If it wasnt for getting filled up o the chips i would of still left hungry.I been to places and got double the amount of food for half the price.Also the salsa was kinda odd tasting,it was ok but i have had better

Amazing food, amazing drinks, and amazing waiter! I love the chocolate piñata dessert as well, absolutely will come back here with friends and family because the food is truly authentic and fresh. The only downfall is the wait time without a week out reservation because of their immense popularity but can’t blame them for it! We’d wait an hour or more to eat here. It’s delicious!

Read the reviews and was excited to celebrate 2 birthdays here. 50 minutes later our party of 9 got water. 20 minutes after we got our drinka. 1 and half hours later still no food. The place was empty on a Thursday night. Never again.

Staff and bartender are fantastic. As often as I visit, the staff always treat me with wonderful service. Happy hour on the Margarita is a nice addition to the relaxing atmosphere. Chips and salsa is a wonderful complimentary for a meal or a night of drinks.
