You can smell the goodness before you even walk in the door. Once you enter you are heartily greeted. The menu is extensive and well priced. They have an amazing breakfast menu, as well as, a to die for, dinner menu. You will not be disappointed and will definitely want to return to The Pig!

Seemed like that was watered down beer that they served me and my old man ordered a beef sandwich slice fine large he got a small pork sandwich instead and had no flavor to it at all I got ribs that were mostly fat I would not suggest it for anybody and I will not go back there again

In the last month and a half I've eaten here eight times and ordered the same platter. First time here I was truly overwhelmed with the size of the platter the large well cooked shrimp the abundance of french fries and the very good baked beans. Since my first time the platter has decreased in size the shrimp size has gone from medium two medium small. Today literally small shrimp and I could count how many french fries I had approximately 7. Plus the fries were undercooked. After paying for the bill I express my unhappy platter. I told the waitress this will be my last time eating here. Maybe it's not fair that I'm cutting this place off being that I've only had one platter every time I've came to this restaurant. Maybe there might be other platters that are better but for the shrimp with two sides not recommending it

PIG SAUCE IS AWESOME! Every year at Thanksgiving we get a couple gallons of Pig sauce and we smoke ribs for the family reunion. Vinegar-based sauce. everyone loves it. We are proud to support an old Jacksonville business that's still going strong.

This lil hole in the wall spot has all you can eat fall off the bone ribs and chicken. I had the all you can eat white meat chicken. Delish! The sides were too salty for me BUT usually things are since I dont use much salt.

Five stars for their barbecue ribs, five stars for their waitress service. It seems that most orders are take out. They have 8 or 10 tables and generally they are very busy. The prices are very fair and the waitresses are honest about things that you do not want to order.

The Seafood is always reasonably priced, the BBQ is the best since Jenkins BBQ on US1 has closed. Great place to also have a good Breakfast, again the best breakfast for the price, and the quantity has never interfered with quality. Good family atmosphere. I love it, and hope you do too

Negatives - Greens were way to salty and are usually right on point. Waitress was definitely on some substance. She dropped food, couldn't keep her eyes open, slurred her words, never serviced our tables once. Positive - killer smoke taste on the BBQ. Fair prices. Good mustard and sweet sauces. Inside was clean, fresh and updated. One waitress won't keep us from returning. We may just get it to go but I'll be sure and double check the order before leaving.

Unique, people are super friendly and food is great, thus the high rating. Because they act like you are long lost buddy they have a tendency to get a little to chatty. That may just be me but the food is great and the service is good also. They are family friendly so that also is a big plus. Go and enjoy the good food and friendly staff.

This was my first time coming here based on word of mouth from a friend that told me they have the best barbecue. So I went it was very, very crowded, on a Friday night but we were seated within a matter of 4-6 minutes as the waitress had to clear a table for us. Upon sitting, I was checking out the menu and saw something else I wanted to try other than the barbecue. Fish and shrimp that again my friend told me was delicious. So I ordered it with my sides, macaroni and cheese and collard greens. My husband had a rib platter dinner and our friend had the all you can eat rib special. After our orders were placed I looked at the window where the dinners we're being sent out through as the waitresses would come pick them up once the cook rang the bell. I sat there and watched what appeared to be my fish and shrimp come up and sit in the window for about 10 minutes as they prepared my husband's meal as well as our friends meal. Needless to say once it got to me, everything was warm to cold. I asked the waitress if I could get my fish and shrimp hot. She took it back and brought me out another plate of everything fried so hard until the shrimp looked burnt. The waitress came back to the table to see how we were doing, I had to get another order of shrimp and wait while my husband and friend enjoyed their hot meals. Needless to say while I waited I tried the sides. Macaroni was watery and the collard greens??? Well after about another 6 minutes my basket of shrimp come back perfectly prepared but at this time my appetite is gone. My husband wasn't eating like he normally does because his ribs had a strong musty smell to them so he left most of his on his plate. I'm sure the meals here are not that bad, based on the congestion of continuous customers they have. Maybe it was due to the crowdedness. But the restrooms are unisex and clean, the waitresses are kind and informative about the menus. Wait time can be extensive so you may want to call in your order like alot of the people that came in did.

Can't go wrong with the Pig! THE SAUCE IS AMAZING ON ALMOST ANYTHING! Never has been a fancy place... but they know how to cook awesome pork! I ALWAYS get the pulled pork sandwich plate! they also make delicious banana pudding! Yum! Buy a bottle of pig sauce to take home, you won't regret it. :)

The staff is pleasant and the portions are a nice size but when it comes to the meats...its the exact flavor that you would expect the color beige to taste like. The sweet bbq sauce is store bought, the mustard sauce just tastes like watered down mustard, the coleslaw is store bought, and the mac & cheese is gritty and oily. Will not be returning. I suggest you save your money and go somewhere else.

I have been eating at this location for 40 years,since I was a kid. Daddy use to take us to the one farther south on Lem Turner , it is no longer there . If I am near Callahan I will go to that one . This place pulled pork BBQ sandwich with their vinegar and cayenne pepper sauce is one of my favorite barbecue places in Florida I give him a A+ on their coleslaw to excellent. I've had a lot of friends recommend that I try the ribs but I'm so happy with the pulled pork sandwiches that I've never done it when I come to Jacksonville I have to eat at least once at the Pig BBQ
