This restaurant has issues. Maybe it should spend more time concentrating on cooking than having the female manager with no management skills run about the restaurant telling the staff what to do and disaplining them right in front of the customers then to just go run over to the owners table and tell them how the employees reacted to the discipline. Talk about public humiliation.

All of the food was fantastic, and the service is very good. The only problem was the tea; when you order tea at a Japanese restaurant, you should get a little better than a teabag of Bigelow. If I had wanted Bigelow, I would have bought it at the grocery store. Get some real loose leaf tea!

I was quite impressed w the dishes coming out, excellent presentation and better taste. We where sitting in the out side garden and it wasn't until I dicided to go inside and see the inside of the restaurant that I realized why the dishes we tried were so exquisite. It turns out that my favorite Sushi Cheff was the one doing her magic. Kudos to Sokai for their vibrant decoration, impeccable service and atmosphere but more important for having Angelica Giles as part of their team.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and my husband and I received outstanding, courteous, prompt service on a Saturday night. The fried rice is the best arroz chaufa I have ever had, the tuna tacos were fresh and delicious, we loved the octopus in anticucho sauce, and I was very happy to find ceviche rolls that remind me of my favorites in Peru! We will be back to take all our friends there.

Does every single roll have to have cream cheese? And eel sauce? I enjoy different textures and ingredients but you have to be able to taste the fish or at least not feel like you're putting a mashup of 10 unrecognizable ingredients in your mouth. One of the rolls was inedible, made me gag, and that's not right. It's just the same 7 out of 10 ingredients listed in a different order per roll. Lame.

The sushi didn’t taste fresh. Sokai didn’t bring any soy sauce nor wasabi. The rolls were poorly done. I would not recommend to eat at Sokai.

The food here is creative and delicious. A lot of interesting ingredients being used. The wait time is quite low. It's the kind of restaurant that you can order multiple items and share, and keep ordering more food if you're still hungry. That being said, there's no indication of the quantity for each dish. For example, there's 3 tacos in the Japanese tacos, but only 2 pork belly buns which can make sharing kind of awkward. This doesn't affect my review but I must say this place is expensive. The portions are small. You probably won't be leaving here stuffed.

It's out first time here. The food is excellent and because the manager Luis was so amazing, we will be back. We tried 7 different dishes from Sushi to the lamb and risotto and they were all a hit. You have to try the desserts, the nutella roll and the custard with meringue. A-ma-zing. Side note: we happened to have an inattentive server in the beginning and it went from an ok borderline negarive experience to an amazing experience when Luis stepped in. He listened, he was quick to make us laugh, he was very humble, and made sure everything went smoothly.

Great food but didn't like the idea that the food has to pass in front of the restrooms, also sushi was ordered and no wasabi, ginger nor chopsticks was offered. The beer was not as cold as it supposed to be, by the way the food is great.

LOVED IT. SOSOSO GOOD. I didnt know it was a sushi place? Because it says Peruvian, I only went because we had a birthday party there. And I saw two friends that worked there, all professional and friendly. The waitress was very kind to my brother, who has down syndrome, and brought him this cute gadget to help him with the chopsticks.

Excellent food! Lomo saltado is delicious. We tried the Ceviche sushi role, the Brie Temptation and a Salmon Truffle one. The third was the strongest but all very tasty.

It was a really bad experience, my food came in and 20 minutes later my husbands and friend and 25 minutes later the last meal. The meat was imposible to chew, my ceviche was not great, the menu claim that it was sea bass but in wasn't. Conclusion we'll never go back. We talked to the manager and his answer was "I'll talk with the kitchen" not even an apology.

The kitchen took for ever and then we were rushed out of our table. Our appetizer came after our entrees. The duck was inedible. The lomo saltado and Gaby roll were very good. Overall, it was pricey and hit or miss so good luck!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. We got there and waited 15 min to be seated which is fine but mind you the place was half empty, and I know why. After finally being seated, we sat at our table for 20 minutes and 3 servers walked by without even a glimpse or hello to our table. I even gave the blank stare and still got nothing. I own a restaurant and someone would’ve definitely gotten fired. After accepting that this restaurant wanted neither my business or my money, we got up and drove right across the street to Chana Thai where the service is always good and the food consistent. Never again...so long Sokai!

I usually go there with my family and enjoy their food. Today the service was horrible and rude. First I put my name on the list to wait for a table. The lady tells me we can sit at the table they have by the sushi bar to order appetizers and drinks if we wanted while we waited for our table. I literally was there for about 20 minutes a guy came in to ask us if we were eating there I said yes can I please order appetizers and drinks while we wait for our table and he took our order. We waited long and nothing no canchita nothing like it was offered to the people in front of us who came in after us. Then he went to the lady on the front said something to her acting kind of annoyed at us being there. I approached the lady up front to see if there was a problem and she said wait a minute. I went back to my seat waited a bit and nothing. Me and my family had enough of the rudeness and left after being there too long without service. Very disappointed I had recommended this place to my friends as I did like it but after this time not sure if we will be back.

One of the few restaurants I walked out of. The wait was ridiculous. The staff seemed clueless. There was a lipstick stain on my sister's water glass. We ordered a drink at the bar and there were no signs of it being made. Overall a terrible first impression.

I liked this place. The rolls were interesting but not the best sushi I've had. The blend of hispanic cooking and typical sushi entrees seem tasty but sometimes they tend to be to much of strange combination to enjoy fully. The prices are ok for a sushi restaurant and you get a complementary bowl of Peruvian corn seeds to munch on while you're waiting for your meal. The restaurant itself is nice and tidy. The staff are nice if not hard to pin down for assistance. Worth it to try or if you're looking for a simple or unique sushi experience.

I'm surprised about the bad reviews. We were there for lunch, granted it wasn't busy, and we received our lunch fairly quickly. We ordered the causa acevichada, volcano roll, ceviche roll, and a ceviche classico. I have a serious problem mixing and matching too many types of sushi when they all have different flavors and sauces, specially when acid is involved, and cream cheese. I just think it's a little gross. Anyways that's just me. At first I was just thinking about getting the causa and maybe the ceviche roll but got a little suckered into ordering the volcano, like the waitress was surprised we ordered so little? I felt over stuffed when I left and didn't even finish my food. Im not sure if this place runs like a gastro bar but 6 piece sushi plates are a decent lunch portion for me with an appetizer. would probably have left there just eating the causa and have been happy but the volcano after all the other plates was over kill. The ceviche classico was great but the side of large corn wasn't fully cooked. This place is so so, the flavors are there. I would definetly like to try some of their hot plates next time.

Peruvian Japanese fusion restaurant with a great atmosphere, the specialty rolls are quite unique and all of them were delicious. The hot plates always turn heads with their presentation and aroma. The head chef often visits tables and has a fiery passion in his eyes, it shows in all of his creations.

If I could give this restaurant negative stars I would. This was one of the most awful experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The restaurant was completely empty--with at least 6 or 7 employees working not including the two hostess. We had to literally ask for everything, forks, napkins, water, soy sauce for our sushi!!!!! How do you serve a roll and not put soy sauce or wasabi and ginger on the plate? or give us chop sticks?! Our server Samantha H seemed to be in a rush to get back to socializing with the other employees, was not attentive at all and our edamame alone took 25 minutes to come out. Let's not forget that there was only one other party in the restaurant. We saw our food sitting for about 5 or 6 minutes and we asked the hostess to please bring it to us and she literally stared like if we were speaking another language. The last straw here--we ordered a dragon roll with asparagus instead of cream cheese, we watched the roll come out and sit there for about five minutes before Samantha H realized that it was there, once she grabbed the roll and realized they made it incorrectly, instead of coming over to our table and apologizing and asking if we would like to wait for it to be re made or if we will take it as is, she began to eat the roll with all of the other employees in front of our faces!!! After all of the employees indulged in OUR food, she came over to our table with her mouth full (again with OUR food). She did not apologize or really say anything because we told her we did not want to wait another 25 minutes for our food to come out so to cancel this order and give us the check. She charged us for the roll that she and all of the other employees ate!!! I am just in complete disbelief that these employees have not been trained with any sort of customer service skills or just manners in general. The kitchen staff, the waiters, and the hostess all were eating our food in the kitchen where customers can see them! Umm... health violation I would think? DO NOT EAT HERE!!! This restaurant should really re-evaluate who they hire or really invest in serious training because this was embarrassing how awful the experience was!

This restaurant is incredible. Customer Service is the best I have experienced, every time I go there. The Peruvian and Japanese cuisine is delicious, healthy, and fresh. The variety of saki also is amazing. To my Military Brothers & Sisters, this restaurant will honor you with a 20% discount of your TOTAL BILL everytime you go there, with a valid Military ID of course. To those that love to earn Airline Mileage, you can earn 3 miles points for every dollar you spend at this restaurant.

The sushi was thoughtful and fresh. Not only was the quality of tuna in my sushi roll fantastic, but the presentation was clearly something the kitchen takes their time with. They also have 21 and over ice creams that gave my meal a needed kick! I had the agave dulce de leche and will be coming back to try more flavors.
