A great place for some traditional Japanese food at reasonable prices. You won't find fancy sushi rolls typical in Miami and there's no elaborate decor, but you can tell it's a good place when there's actual Japanese customers and Asian servers. A friend and I came for dinner and the dinner bento box was a great deal for $19 (salad, miso soup, choice of 2 proteins, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and a California roll). We also had the Una-Q Naruto as an appetizer that was delicious. Desserts were typical for a Japanese restaurant. Servers were very friendly and location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking.

The Sushi rolls were very small. The Sushi chef must of got his training online. I could of rolled a spicy tuna roll better then him and my technic sucks. I've eaten sushi all over the country and I've never..until tonight..found something positive I can say about the food but I was totally disappointed. Don't waste your money here.

Fantastic and not far from the Residence Inn Doral. I travel throughout the US and this is the type of excellent restaurant you'll find in some mom-and-pop places around LA. No burgers and no pandering to children. The familiar lunch and dinner crowd of local worker bees and frequent visitors tells you this is a great place to enjoy a great meal or to entertain a guest who loves authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi. Just go!

How I Journey

Sushi was really fresh and tasty! Don't expect extravagant rolls with fancy toppings here, they have simple yet authentic Japanese sushi. If you're an avid sushi lover try the otoro, its melt in your mouth amazing. The Ramen was okay, not the best we've had. Service was good, prices were very reasonable and plenty parking outside. Friday nights here can get very busy!

There is a lot of respect that should be given for places like this. It is one of those small strip mall style restraunts. But they are friendly, the food was great, and there was nothing there I could complain about. I visited a lot of other places for sushi and as small as this place is, I would have no problem coming here again before I went to the other more expensive nicer places. My experience was great.

First I would like to state that this Japanese restaurant in this area is the best. Got the "Kaisen-don", I'd hardly call it that. It should be called a Chirashi-don. ~33% of the dish was Tamogo and Imitation Crab. The raw selection was good that was in there was good.

Amazing lowkey spot to eat. The food was delicious and the Sake as well. I had the chicken broth ramen with a poached egg, the tempura cheesecake, and the hot Sake. Every single thing was delicious and the service was great as well. I would definitely dine here again. The food came out hot and quickly. I mean we barely waited even 5 minutes for our ramen to come out. Also, the prices are really not that expensive at all. Most things range from $2 - $12 dollars.

Maido is a very good spot for authentic Japanese food. Doral is surrounded by fusion places people call "sushi" for some reason. Although I respect people's choices, it's definitely not my two cents. My #1 go to stop for fresh, delicious, and authentic Japanese cuisine. We've been going here for years and have tried most of the menu, it's all amazing. My top favorite items: Battera, homemade tsukemono, Katsu curry, and the refreshing Asahi drafts. And don't forget to try the omakase. While we can't always eat in Japan, Hiroshi and Genya have made eating at Maido just like being transported there.
