This historical place have two parts, a usual restaurant and a take out room. In the second one you can eat in with all the amenities except the table service. Everything is good with always the detail that makes the difference like delicious onion bread etc... Do not visit Miami Beach without a stop here.

Read about the sustainably harvested Stone crabs so this was on my must try list when visiting Miami. Decided to try the East vs West to see how it compares to the King of crabs. In my opinion the Stone crabs were good, but eaten cold the King crab is well named as it had a sweeter, saltier flavor that I preferred

Douglas Kelly

Their name says it all. This is definitely not a cheap meal but if you really want to experience truly fresh stone crab claws, there is no better place. Once you have had fresh stone crab it's hard to go back to lobster or king crab. The flavor is just, well perfectly rich.

Lindsay Patchett

The wait was incredibly long. The crab tasted fresh but the prices seemed too steep for me. Everything we had was really good, highly recommend the bisque.

Erin Kathleen

It was fun to dine in a classy and historic venue but I still found it overpriced for the experience. The waiter managed to be cold but attentive at the same time. The food was good but just too plain. Dessert was quite yummy but massive. Oh important note: valet parking is the same price as street parking so might as well valet!

The worst service I have ever experienced in my life! The waiter was extremely pushy and obnoxious. He was instructing us what to order. So we can "tel our friends" that we had certain dishes. He was interrupting us while we ate, showing us how to handle crab legs instead of leaving us enjoy the meal. He hysterically topped up our wine glasses, pouring wine on the table and plates in the process. He was rushing us and he talked pretentiously and very loudly. He gave us instructions how to tip him at the end. He was obviously one of the senior servers in the restaurant so I am sure his style is appreciated by the management. If you want to pay a very high price for food (80 USD per person) to be insulted, rushed and yelled at don't miss the opportunity to go to this restaurant. Otherwise avoid it.

A bit disappointed - the stone crabs at the ”take away” were small and didn't look too good. I had the New England Chowder which was just ok and a slice of the famous Key Lime Pie - total cost was $26 - had almost nothing to eat for a big price. I guess prices have gone way up since last year. Don't think I'll be going back to Joe’s any time soon.

Delicious stuffed crab and cocktail shrimp. Sat in bar with no reservation. Limited menu in bar but all we wanted was stone crab so was fine. The happy hour bar menu is great

Pancho Masson

Amazing food. Amazing service. Overall an amazing experience. Food was cooked perfect. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to our party and made great suggestions based on what we wanted and the size of our group. Prices reflect the quality of the food

Jen and Natalie are great bartenders! Over the summer, you can get a claw or 2 at the bar if you feel like a quick bite-- imagine your favorite meal in the world... The stone crab will top it!

Best stone crab. Served precracked ready to eat. Amazing.

Worth the wait. I'm from the Boston area and I'm very lucky to have delicious seafood. I heard Joe's was a must try for their famous stone crabs. We got there around 9pm on Sat and it was about a 1-1.5 hour wait. We got some drinks at the bar and chatted with other folks waiting. The time went by quickly. For dinner we had the huge onion rings (perfectly crispy and moist), stuffed tomatoes, shared the wedge iceberg salad (def big enough to share) and we both got the large size (five claws) of the stone crab claws. It came with a mustard dipping sauce. I would have never thought to dip in mustard, but it was amazing! For dessert we shared a brownie with ice cream and whipped cream. This dessert could have easily fed four people. Can't wait to be back!

Serena S

Famous deservedly so for it's excellent seafood - and it was very good indeed. Sadly the customer service doesn't meet the same high standards, nor what I would expect. Large groups will be treated well but others are not accommodated or welcomed in the same way from what I observed. Disappointing overall.

Larry Mayberry

Such a great experience both at the "wait at Joe's" and the actual restaurant. Expect to wait for your table but as you do enjoy a cocktail or appetizer in the expansive bar area. We brought our kids and were happy to give a welcoming atmosphere and great service at the wait and the table. Plus, you can feed 3 small kids with the 1/2 fried chicken for only $6.95!

Marta Alonso

Amazing experience. If you want to eat real fresh Stone crabs, this is the place. I loved my crabs and my husband loved his lobsters. Drinks at the bar while waiting were really good. Not to long of a wait for a restaurant that only opens for the season. Excellent and professional service, classy atmosphere and overall the best fresh seafood for your money. Would give them a ten star if able.

Just had dinner their tonight 08/02/2019. The Stone Crab was still thawing from being frozen. NOT chilled. Very bland taste. Yes Ive eaten more than my fair share of Stone Crab and Seafood up down the East Coast. Waste off money. I can now check that expercience of the bucket list. Next Experience around the corner.

My boyfriend took me here on super bowl Sunday so the wait was only about 10 minutes. The food was delicious and our waiter, Cash, was fabulous. He was friendly and informative. I highly recommend eating here!

Seriously good eats, albeit a little pricey. I went with the hobo grouper and it was so delicious. This place is definitely worth it even with the higher price tag.

Angelo Pouchie

Service was great. Had a great experience. My first time. Atmosphere is very welcoming. Oh yes food was great I had the baby rack ribs & for a seafood place their ribs we amazing. Must try

David Johnson

Outstanding Experience! The service was amazing... seated right away, recommendations made that tasted off the chart. :)

We went here because we read they are in the top ten in Miami Beach for Key Lime pie. It is really good and you do taste the lime zest and the buttery crust. We happen to stumble upon the "to-go" section of the restaurant. They have lots of lunch options like salad, soup and sandwiches. I opted for the Manhattan clam chowder. It was good except for sand in the soup. They need to clean the clams better before serving them. Other than the crunchy soup, this place is high class. We will come back when we visit Miami again.

The most professionally people i have meet . From the manager who greeted us with warm welcome . He have taking care of our 3 kids to tell us about this great place and offerings us a tour of this 450 employee capacity restaurant to rest of the team . Food and service is over the top .

Atmosphere is a throwback to the days when dining out was an experience. Service is outstanding and the food is superb. Joe's IS pricey, but well worth it.

Great place in place in south Miami Beach, great to go with family friends or Children. Try the famous crabs. Excellent service, warm and fun place. We will come back

Stone crab claws were excellent, though my dining party didn't like that they were cold. The sauce wad excellent. Crab bisque soup was excellent, as we're the rolls. Everything is a la carte, though I recommend sharing the vegetables. I ordered a small salad and it to me was large. Their house dressing is very loaded with stuff and was excellent. Service was professional. The big down side was it was a holiday weekend and the 2-2 1/2 hour wait was well over three. They do not take reservations but you can put your name in and leave.

Get the stone crab! 1.5 servings of large claws plus two sides filled up two 200lb men easily. Key lime pie was fantastic. Excellent, fast service. $230 after tip (also ordered onion rings, lobster Mac & cheese, 1 glass of wine and a coffee) but worth every penny.

Awesome stone crabs. I heard about this place couple years ago, finally got a chance to try famous stone crab claws. What really amazing, that these claws are sustainable. Atmosphere is good. Wait staff is very helpful . I will definitely be visiting again. They also validate valet ticket so you only pay 8 dollars.

Chris Impey

We were told to go here by a taxi driver and loved it. It's not cheap at over 70 dollars for five large claws but there's loads of sweet delicious meat and we shared this between two with some sides. The service was fantastic and the key lime pie was great to finish on.

The service is historical, waiter has been working there his entire life. Had a great story to tell about the past changes.

Best fried chicken and seafood around!!!! Go to the take out next door and eat it in there. People great. Love love loved it.

Don’t order salmon. Just don’t do it. This place was recommended by a friend and after seeing all the reviews I was excited to dine here. My experience doesn’t seem to match all the other reviews, the food was ok, but nothing amazing or worth price I paid. I’m sure I ordered the wrong thing here. I got the ginger salmon and roasted asparagus. The salmon was saturated in a sauce that didn’t do many favours for the salmon, it wasn’t very moist and really pretty disappointing. Asparagus was ok. Overall I’m pretty sad I ordered what I did, but I am not the kind of person who is comfortable complaining that the food is mediocre. I will say their bread and butter were both amazing.

Jason Rosenbaum

Joe’s is a classic. Ive been 3 times. When I was 2yrs old, I choked on the fried chicken and the retired waiter Philly saved me! Once a few years back. And then just recently. Fantastic stone crabs - make sure to get the jumbos if they’re available! Best classic hash browns of all time. GET the fried chicken to share as an appetizer. The whole place is just an awesome experience. Will be back every time I come to Miami.

Stone Crabs were AMAZING.....atmosphere is great. Menu is more extensive than the sit down restaurant, and our bartender Trish, was FANTASTIC!!!!

This place was recommended by Miami’s Finest so you know its good if the cops eat there. We went in as they do not take reservations. We waited in the bar for about 20 minutes and got seated. The bread basket comes with an assortment of tasty breads and pretzels. We ordered the fried fish platter which comes with scallops, fish, clam strips, shrimp and homemade potato chips. We also split the lobster roll which contained a large portion of cold lobster. We also tried the fried chicken which was hand battered and delicious. New England clam chowder and stone crab bisque were amazing appetizers. This is a quaint little place but has a huge following. Only downside is alcohol is way expensive... almost 8.00 a bottle... but you’re on the beach.

Definitely worth a visit, no matter how long the waiting time is! Absolute tasty stone crabs for an appropriate price. Our main courses were lobster tail and baby back ribs, which were awesome in taste. The size of the servings is generous. Our waiter was so nice and chatty, we felt very comfortable with him.

Had a great time food , friends, laughter and cocktails. KUDOS to the (apologies I forgot his name, ) manager and staff for working with our large late group. Very accommodating...Yet, still made everything work out. Yes, great time was had. THANK YOU

Scott Osmond

Fantastic food.. I had my first try of Red Snapper, I couldn't of enjoyed it anymore. The service was fantastic with a very knowledgeable server.. We got there before it opened and there was already a queue. Not sure if you can book but if you can I recommend it.

Konstantinos Kohilas

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Our host gave great recommendations for apps, drinks, and serving sizes of the stone crab legs (luckily we got there just as the Jumbos were about to be out of season). This is a well operated example of a restaurant who strives to give the best experience in every aspect of dining. 10/10.

Ashley Harris

Amazing place! Their seafood is delicious as usual, service is excellent and has a cozy atmosphere. Everything I ordered was very terrific and freshly prepared! Great experience overall.

Olivier Nimeskern

Awesome seafood restaurant. I came here a number of years ago due to its reputation as the best stone crab claws in Florida and I was not disappointed. Very tasty and they melt in your mouth. And the Key lime pie is amazing as well, perfect texture and flavor. This is a big place but it is crowded so you may have to wait a bit.

David Drullinsky

Stone crabs are as advertised, really good, simply prepared and fun to eat. The side dishes and appetizers are also fantastic. I had a great time but you must be prepared to spend a couple of hours here. Arrive early, there is a long wait to be seated. As an alternative you can take food as take out and eat somewhere else. All in all I fully recommend!

Douglas Kelly

Their name says it all. This is definitely not a cheap meal but if you really want to experience truly fresh stone crab claws, there is no better place. Once you have had fresh stone crab it's hard to go back to lobster or king crab. The flavor is just, well perfectly rich.

Alex Metzler

Omar was great. Polite, helpful, and humorous. Heard about legendary wait times but arrived at 5:30 and was seated right away. Has an upscale, classy atmosphere but it’s noticeable that casual is welcomed and encouraged. Great place for all if you love seafood.

Kieran Rons

Cool place and great food, drinks and service! Well worth a visit. Try the Key Lime pie too!

Dennis W.

An institution in Miami...been there for over 100 years. Old school in many ways, and decor to match . If you're a borderline crab fan, then you should skip this place. If you're a crab lover, then you'll undoubtedly like all the various types of snow crab, Stone crab, Royal Stone crab, Alaskan King crab, etc. Service was very good.... But the other food is a little better than amusement park-quality. And prices to match.

Sean McConnell

One of the best meals I've had. The Stone Crab is amazing. The crab cakes were excellent as well!

David Johnson

Outstanding Experience! The service was amazing... seated right away, recommendations made that tasted off the chart. :)

NATALIE JOHNIE

This restaurant came highly recommended. The restaurant is very pretty and has an old school feel to it. Every staff member we encountered were very polite and personable. We ordered the king crab legs, lobster, lobster Mac and cheese, fried chicken, mahi and crab cakes. Everything was great. I did feel like the price for the crab legs were a little steep compared to other places I’ve been, but it was wonderfully prepared and had a lot of meat. For dessert we had lava cake unfortunately, this didn’t meet my expectation. Overall, it was was a great dining experience and time out with friends.

Janice Newberry

Delicious stuffed crab and cocktail shrimp. Sat in bar with no reservation. Limited menu in bar but all we wanted was stone crab so was fine. The happy hour bar menu is great

The Jumbo Stone Crabs were $99 and when the waiter brought them over it blew my mind. 3 tiny Stone Crabs. Very disappointing for that price. My Chilian Sea Bass was very good but when I saw my wife's $99 platter of Jumbo Stone Crabs I freaked out. How dare they serve that to a customer for $100.00 have they no shame or morals?? DO NOT ORDER COLD STONE CRABS AT JOE'S THIS SEASON unless you too want a terribly upsetting experience as well. If they put 4 on the plate maybe I wouldn't have flipped out so much but 3 tiny for $100 now that is a royal rip off. After writing my review the management of Joe's answered my review to show good will. It's called reputation management to show that management is listening to consumer complaints but the fact still remains that the plate of cold stone crabs on my wife's plate in my estimation was priced too high, $99 for three (3) large, not even Jumbo walking away hungry is not good value. Joe's Cold Stone Crab is overpriced and overrated and that's my opinion.

cheree angus

Great place for dinner! Delicious, delicious!!! Opens at 6pm, we got there 545 on Sat night. Sat at bar for 15 min then sat at table by 6. We ate crab claws plus lobster roll to die for and oysters. Expensive, but worth it! Best crab we ever had!

Lorenzo Fattori

Famous tourist trap. After waiting about 30/40 minutes for a seat we were accommodated to our table the server. We asked him if there was any tomato in the crab soup and he rudely replied “tomato, why should be any tomato”, well, there was tomato in the soup. After ordering a starter, a soup, meat and side dish he again replied in a rude way “that’s it?” pointing out that according to him we didn’t ordered enough. Maybe people are not that hungry or want to save space for dessert! Actually we left food: the crab soup not only had tomato, but didn’t taste good at all. My medium cooked tenderloin was rare cooked and the hash browns were basic and without salt. Overall the place is full just because it’s famous, quality is low and prices are high. Maybe the crabs are famous and good, but i don’t like seafood. What I had was really fast food quality. We wanted to try the Key lime pie but we were so disappointed that we just left as fast as possible.

EVERYTHING about this place is of the highest quality. Staff is helpful, courteous, and well trained. Food is a 10/10. Only downside is a long line to be seated.

Michael Florence

We ate here years ago and had the best stone crabs ever anywhere on the planet. . We plan on being In Miami for our 40th Anniversary Cruise in December and plan on going to Joe’s the night before. First class service.

Stuart Elby

Still great. The wait staff is five star plus. Although everyone goes for the stone crab claws, locals know the other dishes are spectacular. Try a fish or steak dish and share a plate of the claws.

Matthew

Everyone says to go here. The lines scared me, was not pumped to go with the crowds. We finally went after 25 trips to Miami. AWESOME. Fun place, no wait, and the Stone Crabs were well worth it. Service was terrific, we just kept ordering more and more and more. Bill was crazy high, but we had a blast. You want stone crabs, this is one place you must go.

Jadin Ruben

The service was great the employees were well trained, it was surprising to see the food that we ordered arrived in little time to our table. There were complimentary bread and water. The employs where well trained knowing what us tourist would many like and most of all kind.

Mohamed Eshnuk

This is the spot that my wife and I chose to celebrate our second anniversary. I have to say it totally lived up to the hype! The Stone Crab was so delicious and such a great experience at the same time. Along with the service was so fast and efficient, and the rest of the food was amazing. The sides are pretty big and fairly priced, I highly recommend trying at least 3-4 large Stone Crab claws, along with 2 shareable sides and finish it off with some coffee and key lime pie! That worked perfectly for the 2 of us. There are no reservations here, but if you go after 8 on a weekday the wait won't be that long at all ~30 mins. If you are in Miami Beach area, do not hesitate to go to this place, it is the best and most unique place in Miami!

Chris Impey

The best stone crab ever. Mustard sauce is a must so don't forget to ask for it. The crabs look scary but they're very delicious. The large size is very good but you can go for medium too. Take your appetite with you as you'll really need it. I'll come again tomorrow.

Larry Mayberry

Such a great experience both at the "wait at Joe's" and the actual restaurant. Expect to wait for your table but as you do enjoy a cocktail or appetizer in the expansive bar area. Get ready to eat out of a cardboard box and to have zero table service. 30 dollars plus for just appetizers and no service. Menu has little descriptions of food items and they really don’t have a huge selection of seafood.

Garrett Descoteaux-Friday

Very expensive, but the stone crab was worth every penny. If you are coming to Miami Beach during stone crab season, definitely stop by this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. I purchased 2 medium servings for 2 people which was $90. My friend ordered a large portion for himself which was $85. Two medium portions was way more than a single large. On the left is two medium portions.

jb tone

There was an hour wait to be seated. That is the ONLY thing that anyone may find fault with. The food selections were plentiful. Portions we're as well. I recommend the Stone crab claws! There is a hidden gem on this mainly sea food menu - Fried chicken I'm a southern kid. I know pan fried and deep fried chicken. Joe's does seafood as good as the best Joe's does steak as good as the best Joe's does fried chicken as good as the best (portion size FTW)

Cary

Food was good but the experience was amazing. The staff is just fantastic. They we're better than the food.

Never miss a chance to go to Joe's!! We are Eastern Airline folk so for years this was our go to place and it's great to return! The stone crabs are sweet and the brussel sprouts are prepared deliciously! Make sure you get in line, the wait starts early. Grab a seat in the portico and have a beverage and an appetizer. Service is exceptional and professional. Dress is not formal, but I would suggest not wearing beach wear either. It's a very nice place.

Matt Allyn

It's an experience. Get the key lime pie. Beer and cocktail menu could use an update. Big portions, all seafood tasted super fresh and was expertly cooked. Incredible service.

Cara Donohue

My boyfriend took me here on super bowl Sunday so the wait was only about 10 minutes. The food was delicious and our waiter, Cash, was fabulous. He was friendly and informative. I highly recommend eating here!

Alexandra Ford

My first time here for stone crab season and they didn't disappoint! Yes the wait for your table is the memorable experience, it's like a giant cocktail party. My group of 3 met a couple from Chicago and we decided to combine our reservations and dine together. It was a great time enjoyed by everyone. I recommend the grilled tomatoes and the Stone crab bisque. If you're patient and opened minded to meeting new people Joe's Stone Crab is the place for a memorable dining experience.

Aleksandra Chumak

Shameful service The food was delicious. Even though most of the stuff were nice, our server completely ruined the whole experience. It was my birthday dinner and he knew that. Disrespectful jokes, not paying attention to our table, threw the bday cake to the table like to the dog. Also he brought to my father house vodka instead of Titos (we could feel it) and when we asked to remake it on the bar in front of us they gave us completely differently drink

Captain Bob Hartzell

Had stone crab, always awesome. What made the experience was we walked passed all the busy line and waiting and stood at the bar near the service station (ancient technique). But with out bar stools was like can we order some apps? Awesome restaurant, fancy top end vibe. Crab, fritters and drinks was just a sample...

Mark Mansour

As an Aussie we get spoilt for seafood. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but what I got was ok. The crabs large plus the spinach with garlic(could have used so much more garlic in it), plus I had a slice of key lime pie, which was very tasty. If I could just rate the service it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, based on where I am from, and it's freshness, didn't do it for me.

Erwin Blanken

The food was great, but the entire experience was amazing. Edd the host at the entrance was just so helpful and made our experience

Steve Choi

Sorry must of made a mistake by hitting wrong star. Joe's is a 5 star experience. We had the stone crab claws and some sides. Perfectly delicate and tasty, prepared to perfection. Sauce was amazing. The wait was long so go early but you still might have to wait. Our waiter was classy, experienced, informative and friendly.

Charlie Pehling

The food was very good, but in my opinion not worth the price or the 3 hour wait to be seated. And that was on a Thursday night. I will say the crab was extremely fresh and the sauce served with it is phenomenal. Also the wait staff is some of the best in the business, very professional. Valet parking is a very reasonable price as well.

masons creations

Treated with great respect and like kings. The 3 of us got there at a time recommended to us by a friend, before it gets busy from 7(ish) onwards, we got there at 7.20 and didn't wait 2 minutes. Got there during Crab claw season and made the most. Tom, our waiter was great and guided us what was best to order and he got it spot on. All the way from the UK and we thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you.

Miami classic restaurant! If you are in Miami in the winter months, you must go here. Joe's has been in Miami Beach since the beginning of time. The food is consistently delicious, ambience is great and service is very good. Make sure to make a reservation during the winter months as it is usually very busy during the season.

Daniel

The main kitchen dining area was closed. So went to their cafe.

David English

This place never lets me down! I'm always impressed with the quality of food and the excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Christopher Cook

Jovonneb

We went here because we read they are in the top ten in Miami Beach for Key Lime pie. It is really good and you do taste the lime zest and the buttery crust. We happen to stumble upon the "to-go" section of the restaurant. They have lots of lunch options like salad, soup and sandwiches. I opted for the Manhattan clam chowder. It was good except for sand in the soup. They need to clean the clams better before serving them. Other than the crunchy soup, this place is high class. We will come back when we visit Miami again.

Brian Premo

This place is simply great and a must try when in Miami. We hit the timing perfectly, on the 4th of July, by getting there 5 minutes before they opened. Got right in, no major wait. And for anyone who says “oh, that’s because it’s off season” - doesn’t matter. The way stone crabs are prepared and frozen at this place keeps them just as fresh. Fried chicken is also a must.

Serena S

Famous deservedly so for it's excellent seafood - and it was very good indeed. Sadly the customer service doesn't meet the same high standards, nor what I would expect. Large groups will be treated well but others are not accommodated or welcomed in the same way from what I observed. Disappointing overall.

Brian Zakrzewski

Seriously good eats, albeit a little pricey. I went with the hobo grouper and it was so delicious. This place is definitely worth it even with the higher price tag.

Paul LeBlanc

No one can say anything bad. Claws were amazing. Onion rings with cooked a lightly battered. Atmosphere is why you love this very special place!

John C.

A true Miami institution. If your visiting and it's crab season you owe it to yourself to experience Joe's Stone Crab. The food is excellent and the service is always attentive and friendly. Try it at least once in your life, you won't regret it.

Syl E

Good restaurant although a little pricey. Nice garden where you can taste quietly the stone crabs which is the main reason you would come here. Excellent service. The stone crabs were probably frozen before they were cook. But the sauteed spinach and hash brown were well worth their prices.

Achraf Alami

The most professionally people i have meet . From the manager who greeted us with warm welcome . He have taking care of our 3 kids to tell us about this great place and offerings us a tour of this 450 employee capacity restaurant to rest of the team . Food and service is over the top .

Pancho Masson

Amazing food. Amazing service. Overall an amazing experience. Food was cooked perfect. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to our party and made great suggestions based on what we wanted and the size of our group. Prices reflect the quality of the food

Alte Nijhuis

Very pleasant place for a dinner. Just be prepared for some waiting time. We had to wait for an hour at the bar, which was not a bad place to stay. Friendly waiters, not stressed in this crowded place. Dinner was fine. Especially the cold platter taken by my wife was beautifull and delicious. I went for tuna, rare. Also good quality. Pricing in line with quality and appearance.

John Walsh

Read about the sustainably harvested Stone crabs so this was on my must try list when visiting Miami. Decided to try the East vs West to see how it compares to the King of crabs. In my opinion the Stone crabs were good, but eaten cold the King crab is well named as it had a sweeter, saltier flavor that I preferred

Jean R.

Loved the experience here! Amazing stone crab and calamari .staff very attentive and competent. Very expensive but worth it!

Nahil Khalife

I was disappointed by the stone crabs. The place is really overrated, although I did enjoy the history aspect of it. The stone crabs did not have any flavor at all. I was very shocked! The oysters were good and the lobster mozzarella sticks were great too. Overall I think it's a simple seafood restaurant nothing worth the hype.... Sorry! I love seafood and this did not make the list

Fernando Mendoza

There's no much to add to the 107 years of history here. Oldest restaurant in Miami Beach. A true classic. A beautiful colonial house welcomes you to the stone crab experience like no other. Sides are delicious, specially the potatoes. Little secret: they also have Miami's best fried chicken :). Remember the season in October to May. They close during the summer so bear in mind.

Woody Huffines

Unequivocally the best dinner possible. Their crabs are an annual pilgrimage for my parents. This year it was an 80th birthday party and the food and service was impeccable. There slaw and mustard dressing is always wonderful; the wait is worth it; the service spot on. One can't have a bad experience at Joe's. We look forward to every trip and are NEVER disappointed.

LARRY KARLIN

Always a good place for a terrific meal. The fish & chips were delicious. The usually wonderful fried chicken was a big disappointment. Maybe it was an off day, but the chicken was dry and uninspiring.

Daniel Stent

I hate waiting for anything but this place was absolutely worth the hour it took before we were seated. There is a very spacious bar so it was scarcely an inconvenience. Restaurant itself is fantastic, incredible steak and enormous tasty sides. Great atmosphere and service

Kishan Sudusinghe

Delicious food with a rustic and vintage environment. Historic location. Always a wait so better to go late or early during dinner service. Service is very professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Victor Kostyukevich

Awesome stone crabs. I heard about this place couple years ago, finally got a chance to try famous stone crab claws. What really amazing, that these claws are sustainable. Atmosphere is good. Wait staff is very helpful . I will definitely be visiting again. They also validate valet ticket so you only pay 8 dollars.

Michael Gabriel

Amazing place to eat. It's a beautiful restaurant through out, it's a must go to spot in Miami. Don't miss out on the stone Crabs. The baked clams were tasty as was the conch fritters. Crab cakes are wonderful and don't miss the fried chicken. The best onion rings I ever had too. But the show stopper is the key lime pie . I wanted to buy a case of pies to bring home

Kham Inthirath

Han Leng

I think the quality of food in degraded. But still crazy expensive. Look, there are tons of restaurants offer stone crabs, with much more reasonable prices. This has become a money pits. Go to the keys, like Eaton seafood at keywest. You will find much better deals and better food quality.

Robert Meconi

Best fried chicken and seafood around!!!! Go to the take out next door and eat it in there. People great. Love love loved it.

Jaclyn Renee

None of us were impressed with the quality for cost. We visit a number of nice places, the cost is certainly inflated do to the clientele. Not a memorable meal to sum it up.

j.m. slade

Great place. Food is good. Service is fantastic. Atmosphere is casual, and busy. Prices are bit ridiculous. Definitely worth a visit.

Johnny Sze

Great service and amazing and unique stone crab. Got the colossus and large stone crabs. Didn't disappoint. Sides are great too. No reservations but the place is huge and you will get seated quickly. Second time here. Visit each year for the season stone crabs. Key lime pie is excellent as well.

lisa calkins

Louie L

Definitely a place to go in Miami. Food is fresh and almost everything is good. It's a little pricier than it needs to be. To give you an idea of prices, 5 large crab claws is about $70, piece of corn almost $5, and. Piece of key lime pie $10. Service is really good.

PJ Rabie

Visited the take away and sat at the bar. I was very impressed with the wine pricing which was at retail prices, the food was generally good. The Bisque was a winner especially at the price. The chowder was a distinct least favourite. Balance of the food was decent albeit on the expensive side but I suppose that's due to the brand.

Wing To

Amazing place to eat with exceptional food and service, highly recommend this place

Michael Doherty

My mom's favorite food is Stone Crab so I had to take her to Joe's when she came to visit! She seemed to like it and I'd say it was quite good. I also really wanted to try the famous $5 fried chicken. It was only ok, but what can I expect for $5 at a nice restaurant. Our scallops were fine, but expensive for the portion. Overall I was pleased with our experience but I'm not itching to go back

Laura Hoffman

Food and service was awesome! Had the stone crabs, fried chicken, hashbrowns, creamed spinach and key lime pie for dessert. The fried chicken was only $7 and we received half a chicken. Wish I lived closer to eat here everyday!

C. B. OKaan

This place is totally overrated tourist restaurant, used to check your credit card before you order, as standard. Thankfully; they gave up that policy. How do I know? I forgot that I have been there before. Place is too large & crowded, very long wait for frozen refrigerated crab and seafood. Service is over cool kind of old fashion fake aristocratic attitudes. They told me, I have to call ahead to have defrosted. Excuse Me!!! Said it again!!! Say What!!! They are kind of proud to serve frozen refrigerator seafood??? Not an New England, Seattle or San Francisco's market standards for seafood and service.

Anna Z

Expensive for stone crab’s order. Pretty fresh. Good survive.

Eriola Kasemi

We read about Joe's Stone Crab before arriving to Miami Beach, so wanted to give the Take-Away part a try. We were impressed with the very good service. We did not try the famous crab, but we got the Oven Roasted Herb Chicken and shared into two. DELICIOUS and a big portion! We are definitely going back for the Stone Crab in the restaurant!

Angelo Pouchie

Service was great. Had a great experience. My first time. Atmosphere is very welcoming. Oh yes food was great I had the baby rack ribs & for a seafood place their ribs we amazing. Must try

Shawnita Threats

Great place to dine!! Ronny was very attentive!! All staff were very welcoming. Good food and atmosphere! Would like big bottles of Moscato but other than that excellent experience. My cousins were cold and Ronny even provided cloths that they could wrap around them.

Chris Carbone

I got to go eat at Joe's take away. Did not get to experience the full restaurant white glove but, At least I got to have these delicious stone crabs and Alaskan king crab legs with an amazing lobster roll. Their Manhattan clam chowder and bisque soups are fantastic. Can't wait to come back here and try the restaurant but the take away is just as good..

Well what is there to say really? It’s just how you expect it to be: perfect, timeless, typical, delicious. Go there for the crab, obviously. Anything else you get will be great, but it’s just extra. We got some oysters as well as the lobster Mac n cheese. It was all very good. Went for the Select stone crab claws. I like that medium size, but the larger ones are great too.

The service was great the employees were well trained, it was surprising to see the food that we ordered arrived in little time to our table. There were complimentary bread and water. The employs where well trained knowing what us tourist would many like and most of all kind.

Great customer service from our waiter. The food was good with big servings.

We arrived for dinner just as they were opening at 6PM on a Friday night. The valet parked the car, we were greeted at the door and promptly seated. The restaurant quickly filled up. The interior is, as you would expect, luxurious. The seating comfortable. The service, truly world class. For dinner, I had the stone crab. My dinner companion chose the boiled Main lobster. As sides we had hash browns and brussels sprouts. The stone crab tasted like just about every other crab I had. AT $69 it was not a knock your socks off meal, but this is Joe's. The Maine lobster was a Maine lobster. The crunchy has browns, which we ordered at the waiter's suggestion, were an interesting side dish.and I rather enjoyed them. The Brussels sprouts were a nice side too. For dessert, the Crème Brûlée with blueberries was a treat. The Key Lime pie, a tradition, was tasty and worth a try The stone crab did not knock my socks off, and the Maine lobster was exactly what you would expect a steamed Maine lobster to be. Joe's in an institution. If you want to treat yourself to a good dinner in a luxury setting with truly world class service, this is the place.

Still great. The wait staff is five star plus. Although everyone goes for the stone crab claws, locals know the other dishes are spectacular. Try a fish or steak dish and share a plate of the claws.

Jeffrey Rosenbaum

Everyone knows it, but this place is awesome! An unbelievable dining experience. Amazing stone crabs, creamed spinach, hash browns and key lime. Definitely share the fried chicken as an app. Maybe best fried chicken of all time. It's not cheap but well worth it. Our waiter Eric was outstanding!

Get ready to eat out of a cardboard box and to have zero table service. 30 dollars plus for just appetizers and no service. Menu has little descriptions of food items and they really don’t have a huge selection of seafood.

Derek Blankenship

Tried the Branzino as well as the Stone Crab. Food, atmosphere, and service was outstanding. Joe’s Stone Crab is competitive on a national level. Will definitely be back soon. Without a doubt the best restaurant in South Beach.

The best stone crab ever. Mustard sauce is a must so don't forget to ask for it. The crabs look scary but they're very delicious. The large size is very good but you can go for medium too. Take your appetite with you as you'll really need it. I'll come again tomorrow.

The food was great!! The best thing we had was the lobster Reuben and the shrimp cocktail!! Their seafood was fresh and didn’t have a funky smell. I would’ve liked more options on the menu but their food was great overall!! Was impressed with their freshness!!

Our waiter, Oscar, made the experience amazing. He’s was fun, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Must haves: lobster bisque, key lime pie. Both were the best I’ve ever had. Be prepared for a long wait for a table. Maybe get a drink somewhere after you put your name on the list. Dinner is expensive, food is really good. I thought the seafood may have been a little over cooked and over chilled. Bread was great.

We arrived at 6 with no wait (apparently the wait times are a big deal here). We were served promptly by a fancy fellow. He made recommendations (we took them). Drinks were strong and delicious. The conch fritters were perfect. The stone crab was phenomenal. Will definitely returning on our next trip to Miami Beach.

Jeff Crabtree

From the moment you walk in the atmosphere was extremely pleasant from the bar staff to table staff. This is a must do when visiting South Miami... Great food - Great staff...

Kimberly Schreiber

Wonderful service and amazing food in a beautiful setting. This is the perfect spot for a nice dinner and we loved the outdoor seating. The food was amazing - try the crab cannelloni! We split a wedge salad for an appetizer, it was huge! The restrooms were spotless and the service was great. Highly recommended.

I think the quality of food in degraded. But still crazy expensive. Look, there are tons of restaurants offer stone crabs, with much more reasonable prices. This has become a money pits. Go to the keys, like Eaton seafood at keywest. You will find much better deals and better food quality.

Omar was great. Polite, helpful, and humorous. Heard about legendary wait times but arrived at 5:30 and was seated right away. Has an upscale, classy atmosphere but it’s noticeable that casual is welcomed and encouraged. Great place for all if you love seafood.

A true Miami institution. If your visiting and it's crab season you owe it to yourself to experience Joe's Stone Crab. The food is excellent and the service is always attentive and friendly. Try it at least once in your life, you won't regret it.

Amazing place! Their seafood is delicious as usual, service is excellent and has a cozy atmosphere. Everything I ordered was very terrific and freshly prepared! Great experience overall.

Expensive for stone crab’s order. Pretty fresh. Good survive.

Best service in all of Miami Beach!! A bit pricey for the portion size, but I guess stone crabs are expensive in general. All of the food was good, but as a Marylander it’s difficult to compare crab cakes and crabs when we do it best up here. Best non maryland crabs and crab cakes I have had though. I guess I’m just used to old bay seasoning lol.

Blake Kneisly

Ordered a large order of the Joes stone crab legs and did not seem like a large order. I found almost every bite to have shell. However service was good!

Great service and amazing and unique stone crab. Got the colossus and large stone crabs. Didn't disappoint. Sides are great too. No reservations but the place is huge and you will get seated quickly. Second time here. Visit each year for the season stone crabs. Key lime pie is excellent as well.

Laura Hoffman

Food and service was awesome! Had the stone crabs, fried chicken, hashbrowns, creamed spinach and key lime pie for dessert. The fried chicken was only $7 and we received half a chicken. Wish I lived closer to eat here everyday!

Sue K

Cool atmosphere, this place is huge! Of course, the best thing on the menu is the crab and key lime pie. Awesome wait staff!!!

Eloisn Shelton

I have been living close to this place for a while now and just stumbled on it and I love it!! I haven't tried everything on their menu but I love their shrimp and sole fish, I've heard other customers rave about their chicken and hot wings so I have to give that a try. But other then that the place is clean the cashier is nice and my son loves it, and kids are picky!!!

Miami classic restaurant! If you are in Miami in the winter months, you must go here. Joe's has been in Miami Beach since the beginning of time. The food is consistently delicious, ambience is great and service is very good. Make sure to make a reservation during the winter months as it is usually very busy during the season.

Charley Heigie

Absolutely hooked on these crab claws, problem is they are not the only thing on the menu, from the king crab to the fried chicken this place does it all very well. The maitre de is always pleasant and cordial, depending on the time you arrive wait time could be 1.5 hours so expect to have a couple of drinks at the bar, it is well worth the wait. We go at least 3 times on each trip down to South Beach.

Michael Florence

We ate here years ago and had the best stone crabs ever anywhere on the planet. . We plan on being In Miami for our 40th Anniversary Cruise in December and plan on going to Joe’s the night before. First class service.

Good restaurant although a little pricey. Nice garden where you can taste quietly the stone crabs which is the main reason you would come here. Excellent service. The stone crabs were probably frozen before they were cook. But the sauteed spinach and hash brown were well worth their prices.

Ruth Miller

Could be better. 30/40 minutes for a seat which is acceptable considering it being tourist attraction. But after all if the food is delicious it could make the wait worth it. We were accommodated to our table the server and got somebody to take the order after 20 mins. We were without anything on the tablet for 20 mins. Upon addressing, the server said we are short staffed. Thats what i waited so long to hear. Finally we ordered the food, it was pretty tasty but portion for the price was very small. We can have similar food for a lesser price. so definitely its the tourist trap.

Tom Hendrix

Service and food were great. Only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because my cocktail was watered down. Other than that this place is very good!

Atmosphere is exquisite. Stone crabs are the juiciest. Fried chicken was well done. What made me want to come back were the servers. Wow. They made me feel like home. I had a great time. Oh and that pecan pie is so good.

Is there anything better than fresh seafood in Miami? Joe's Stone Crab is upscale for sure, and you can expect to pay for it, but here's the catch; it's worth it. A lot of steakhouses and fine seafood joints are a lot of talk for not a lot of quality, you basically pay for the name. At Joe's, I genuinely felt as though I got a good deal for the amount spent. It's not an every day kind of restaurant, so why wouldn't you want to actually be treated when you do splurge? Our service was to say the least, excellent. Our server was polite, funny, and time considerate. He made sure we never needed to flag him down, but he wasn't overbearing in the slightest. The food was of course, wonderful. It's fresh, so it doesn't need a million pounds of seasoning, they try to let their seafood speak for itself. Our stone crab was succulent and sweet, the king crab was tender and rich, and all of our sides were extravagantly decadant. I couldn't recommend them enough.

We went to celebrate my mother’s birthday and honestly my family liked the food (I personally wasn’t too happy with the food), upon getting our $279 bill we didn’t have a problem paying for it even though it was very pricey for the food we got which wasn’t a lot so that bill was extreme. The problem I had was when my father was leaving a $25 tip in cash to our server Jaime and he told my father that the 15% was almost $40 and waited for my father to tip him more. A tip isn’t obligated I work in a service company and tips are never obligated. If they want us to tip the minimum then they should already include it in the bill. Our server wasn’t around much and we asked for a menu for drinks and he said he could tell us what they have but he never did and when we asked for a drink he said they didn’t have it. I’m very disappointed in the server we got. We are a type of family that like to tip a high amount when the server earns it but our server didn't earn it. We left very upset.

Cool place and great food, drinks and service! Well worth a visit. Try the Key Lime pie too!

I hate waiting for anything but this place was absolutely worth the hour it took before we were seated. There is a very spacious bar so it was scarcely an inconvenience. Restaurant itself is fantastic, incredible steak and enormous tasty sides. Great atmosphere and service

This place is season will come over for this stone crabs. But they do their hardest, to have them all year round. But it's best to go in season. If you want them super Super Fresh. Now they are fresh All Season as well. Don't get me wrong. This is another high-end restaurant. Right located near the point of South Beach. You can see the waves in the ocean from this restaurant. Very high-end. Delicious salads. Delicious entrees. The service is perfect. Very trendy. Upper class customers. Locals visit daily. Visitors must go, when they come to South Beach. It is very well known..

This place never lets me down! I'm always impressed with the quality of food and the excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Joe's is one restaraunt that is consistent and never disappoints. My wife and I went here after a Sunday Heat game with 5 of our clients. Can I say they were very impressed with the food and service. We ordered the fried chicken, chicken wings, fries, stone crabs, Alaskan king crab legs, and a Mediterranean style salad. For desert we had the amazing bread pudding. Joe's has the best fried chicken in south Florida. I never expected a seafood restaurant to have fried chicken on their menu. The Alaskan crab legs were very well seasoned. Also the stone crabs were sweet and fresh. Get there early as the seating time gets longer throughout the evening. I usually go to the take out as its first come first serve with seating. They have there own Free parking that's a big plus. So if you are in the area definitely treat yourself to some great food.

Great place to dine!! Ronny was very attentive!! All staff were very welcoming. Good food and atmosphere! Would like big bottles of Moscato but other than that excellent experience. My cousins were cold and Ronny even provided cloths that they could wrap around them.

Dress nice if you're going to the actual restaurant. But on the side of the building there is a Joe's takeaway part. We got our Alaskan SPLIT crab to go and ate on the beach

This was my first time dining here. The food was absolutely amazing! The grilled king crab was great. But the service ruined my experience. I felt rushed and he seemed bothered. We paid in cash and he counted the money at the table; I’ve never had that happen to me. I will be back and hope for a better experience.

Louie L

Definitely a place to go in Miami. Food is fresh and almost everything is good. It's a little pricier than it needs to be. To give you an idea of prices, 5 large crab claws is about $70, piece of corn almost $5, and. Piece of key lime pie $10. Service is really good.

Kiara Clark

Had the fried chicken. It was simple and good! And also only $7, which is refreshing since the other entrees are upwards of $25.
