This is really an incredible find! Authentic Mexican food, almost everything made from scratch and some of the best horchata I've had outside Mexico. The trees lechery cake was also amazing. Don't miss this place!

Never disappointed. Always the food taste the same. I've not been El Tenampa in a while and boy that wet beef burrito tasted the same I had a couple of years ago. I've been coming to El Tenampa since it open, furthermore I was one of the truck driver that delivered the originals chairs before it open. The place is small and it gets crowded it and the wait time is long, just grab a drink and listen to the live music because the wait is worth it. Thanks Tenampa.

Horrible place! The server looked like she hated her job. No personality and made rude faces. Once food came out she never checked on us. The queso wasn't a dip at all. Looked more like a clump of stringy cheese that had been melted and was $12!

The worst Mexican food I've ever eaten in my life. Not only is the food terrible, but the people that work there are disrespectful. They missed up my order and when I called them to let them know, they said I was the one mistaken !! After arguing, they finally decided to make me my order again. Of course, when I went to go pick up my food, the employees laughed at me and talk about me in Spanish. Little do they know, I'm a fluent Spanish speaker and I know exactly all the disrespect things they were saying. Please help yourself and stay away from this place !!!

Our waiter had a great attitude and was even helping us pronounce our dishes properly when we asked. He made sure we had anything and everything we needed. The salsa had just enough heat and the chips were fresh. We had steak fajitas, the smoked pork chops and shrimp fajitas. Neither disappointed. Each came with either rice and or beans which were both homemade and very tasty. I had stopped one of the young women to find about the cheese they used, she was more than happy to help. I can't recommend this place enough. The store next door is great also. Very helpful for those of us that do not speak Spanish.

Great Mexican food. Family atmosphere and friendly. Best Mexican food in the area. The fajitas are the best. It is a BYOB place. I don't know why the other reviewers say the wait staff is unfriendly. I found them to be attentive and very courteous. Let's face it. It's not a fancy 5 star restaurant. If you want great food in a small family run restaurant this is the place. If you are used to being fawned over by overbearing waiters who are over your shoulder every second then I would go somewhere else.

Ordered takeout of a little over $50 when I got home we were missing a side of rice and beans and there was absolutely no sour cream with any of entrees. The lady that helped me at the counter wasn't too Pleasant seem like she was in a bad mood. I called the restaurant asked about the sour cream and she told me you don't get any with your entrees only if you come in and sit down for the meals. This must have been the same lady at the counter cuz she had the same rude attitude. Then when I asked her about the missing side of rice and beans she argued with me that it wasn't even ordered but after a few seconds on her reading the actual order she admitted she was wrong but her attitude just increased. We were long-time customer in this place and I would never step foot in the door again cuz of how this lady treated me! I wouldn't even go back to get what they owed me just to avoid her rotten attitude!

Used to love the place but now their prices are outrageous and the service is always nasty with one woman in particular that has a constant attitude. Completely lost interest here. This place is garbage. The refried beans look like they were wiggled out of a can, fried, and refried again, the rice looks like goya box rice with the canned vegetables. We came 3 times in one week, and the 3 times they got our orders wrong. I completely understand that we're all human, but what really disappointed us was their lack of good customer service. When we would try to correct their mistakes, they would quickly turn their backs on us, and one waitress even rolled her eyes like we were such an inconvince. Food is amazing. Some of the best street tacos I've ever had. Realistically, the place deserves a 5 star review, but I've been there a few times in the last 2 weeks and the AC is terrible. The middle of the summer in Orlando, 50 or 60 people in the sitting area and an open kitchen makes for a VERY uncomfortable meal. I mentioned it to the employees and they said it was set to 70 degrees and working. I know for a fact it wasn't. Get that right and I'd up my stars...

The food is fine here but the prices are about 50% higher than they should be. I don't eat meat so I was looking for fish tacos. I was told the could make shrimp tacos, $2.00 additional. The tiny little shrimp were hardly worth the $15.00 I was charged. I asked for additional chips after the two of us finished the skimpy serving we were given, I was told that would be additional too. I should have waited in traffic and gone the extra distance to eat at El Tepeyac Mexican restaurant on Old Bay Ave. the food is better and the prices are lower.

I've always heard that Tenampa was good, so while I was on a shopping outing, I decided to stop in. I'll start with the good, the food. The prices aren't quite steep or a bargain, just about what I would expect to pay for what I got. The food itself was excellent! The salsa tasted fresh, the rice and beans were a great side (though I'd honestly like a little more beans and rice... the presentation was good, though.) and the mains were stuffed with delicious and well prepped meat and veggies. The bad was mostly on the side of the service, which felt a little low effort to me. All in all, though, I'd definitely recommend this place on the food alone.

I would say that the customer service it was ok, but we order some beef ribs and they were smelling funny. Then they told us that the ribs were marinate with beer. My wife order those ribs and she is pregnant. I would say i was very disappointed of that because i was expecting some good ribs. I love ribs and i know when they are not good or if they are old. Be careful because later that day my wife and i were in the hospital for food poisoning. Stay away from the ribs or any meat. Make sure they meet the the expiration dates on the meats. The Boss Chef, has never failed me! He makes the best Mexican meals in Southern & Central Jersey! My wife is there right now for some take-out orders for dinner at home! Hot food gets cold quickly when served on a cold platter. Barbeque sauce on a burrito, well it tasted like it. Wait staff that compulsively fills salt shakers, stacks glasses, or anything else to avoid making eye contact with customers. All the employees seem to be disengaged, not hostile, not rude, just not concerned about quality or service. One has to assume that favorable comments on this site were left by friends of the owners. There is just no other explanation. Food wasn't bad, but it sure wasn't good.

Top notch authentic spanish food with a nice market next door. The service was on point. I like the rice and beans were good. I got tacos and a burrito both so filling. To finish off I had a tres leches that was one the best I've had in a while. They got a tv and have spanish music playing to set the nice atmosphere. Great spot for sure

Food is absolute garbage. Staff is equivalently as bad as the food with their attitudes. I could understand being smug and mean if your food was actually good, but maybe they want to work their way up to "bad" and "mediocre" first. I've never had food taste so bland in my entire life, the sad part is I would honestly go to Taco Bell 100 times before I'd go to this pile of crap place ever again. My dad is obsessed with it and I don't understand why.

Our Last Visit !!! Been there at least 4 or 5 times. Service is spotty, not the friendliest but just O. K. Was there last evening. The food is not that good. They use jared tomato sauce for their red sauce. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, this sauce was good but the chicken was hard to find so basically it's one big dough ball that you are eating. My wife ordered a beef and chicken burrito and again, NO BEEF or NO chicken. The chip and salsa are good but it ends there. I do not recommend this restaurant. For what they are charging for an entrée, $ 14- 15 is just NOT worth it. ,........

As a native Mexican, I can say the food here is as authentic as it gets in Central Florida. The tacos are great and I would strongly recommend. The short ribs are also amazing. If you’re going in the evening on weekends, be prepared to wait up to an hour for a table - the wait is well worth it though.

$42 for 3 lunches! The portions haven't changed with the price increase! The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food is good, but not worth the $2 price increase! I've worked in the restaurant business for 12+ years and I can understand a price increase of 50 cents or even a dollar. Its not worth the money now. I've been coming here for years but now they have completely lost me as a customer!

This location was spacious enough for oyr party of 10. The waitress and us had a hard time communicating , and my husband soeaks Spanish. Not sure what the problem was but we got it sorted out. The food was very good. We love Mexican and it stood the quality of such. Unfortunately the chips and salsa delivered complimentary was only one order, and guacamole can not be ordered as a side dish, but again we managed. We would go back.

Prices are high but worth the money for the quality. • FOOD is always very fresh and consistent. Complimentary chips and salsa to start are great using homemade salsa that is some of the best you can get. Fajitas are excellent. • STAFF is experienced having been open for many years. Meals come quickly when it is slow or with a full house. • CRITICISM would be that with no fountain drinks they serve soda or tea in cans/bottles so it can add up quickly. BYOB available for alcohol

I have never wrote a review complaining but for this place i will. It’s the Worst place ever. Did not go for a while due to waitresses being rude and acting as if it’s a problem when you ask for stuff. They do not do any modifications on any meals and try to charge you for sides instead which cost $6.00. They have messed up multiple to go orders at this point as well and there prices are outrageous, there one red sauce is literally marinara sauce. They should not even be considered a Mexican establishment. Does not even deserve one star.

We went for lunch and had good food and service. There is no bar or outdoor seating. I had the combo with a burrito and taco. The carne asada could have had more flavor. The chips and salsa are fresh and tasty. The refried beans were delicious. The chicken fajitas are a large serving of meat! They come with rice, beans, guac, and pico de Gallo. The place has fun ambience and nicely decorated. They have fresh juices. There was no lunch menu. There’s a good variety of options on the menu and affordable.

I agree with the other posters. Food was very good, but the service was lacking. Both waitress were standing at the counter playing with their phone and only left when someone came in or food was ready. The waiter on the other hand did circulate abound and did check on us even though he was not our server. They only offer one salsa which is mild, I prefer spicy and my wife likes medium.

My father-in-law is Mexican and will not go to any other Mexican restaurants in the Orlando area because he loves this place. As such, I have been probably 4x. It is very crowded and even walking to your table can be stressful (not enough room). But if you aren't claustrophobic and are OK with very loud restaurants, it's a good place to eat. The food is authentic, they offer a wide range of beverages, the service is generally friendly and on a few nights a week (I think Friday and Sunday), they even have a mariachi for a few hours. It's slightly more expensive than other restaurants in the same mold but they could afford to charge more if they wanted.

I love the food at this place. The portions are good size, which they need to be for how expensive. My boyfriend and I just get one entree each and the bill is always close to $50. We also, always drink water. The service is fair... they are decently responsive to requests, but are in no way friendly. We do not eat at the restaurant anymore, just do take out. The other post is correct that you are charged for every side when you do take out but you do get a free small bag of chips and salsa. Overall I rave about the food, but not the service or price.

My family used to come here all the time because of the food for several years. But went back for 1st time in about 2 years yesterday and was very disappointed. The food was bland and not fresh as we remembered. Not to mention my wife's dish had hair in it and ordered something else instead. They didn't even come over to apologize to us about it. This is Orlando, if you don't get your act together you won't be around much longer. This place needs a wake up call, pay attention to the food being delivered to customers instead of congregating like a social club for your staff. Very big disappointment, wont be coming back..... neither should anyone else until they get there act together!!!

The Tenampa restaurant is the Best Mexican restaurant by far in Kissimmee, FL. The Service was great, the food tasted even better. Food portions was very good, prices were minimum. I would recommend anyone to go try it.

We always like El Tenampa. Everything always tastes great . The servers are pleasant and easy to work with. And, there is seasoning on every table for your pleasure. Be prepared to read their menu - it is a little different/more detailed than others.

Not allergy friendly!!!! While the food was delicious I was very disappointed in how my severely allergic child was dealt with at this establishment. We asked the server in both English and Spanish if the food would be safe for my highly allergic peanut/tree nut son. The server assured us nothing would be cooked with nuts. I hope they understand that cross contamination in the kitchen as well as manufacturing and frying in peanut oil is still an issue. My son ate the tortilla chips and salsa as well as the chicken nuggets and french fries. He was doing fine and then all of a sudden he started getting hives on his face. He then stood up from the table and threw up roughly 5-6 times. Multiple wait staff just walked around him as he was throwing up and there was hardly a concern that what was served to him could've ended his life. We still had to pay a full check and I also had to rush out of there to get him medical treatment. Disappointed in how our server lied to us for our business and how multiple members of this establishment couldn't have cared less about my child's safety.

Located in the Starboard Plaza with Mr. Mattress, this is a decent Mexican joint for NJ. I found it to be clean and pleasant on this Sunday afternnon. The waitperson was efficient if not overly friendly. The food was not bad as the previous reviews made me expect. I had the Queso Fundido which was 97% cheese. I would have liked a little more Chorrizo in it. The Burrito Buena Vida was served with a small portion of rice, black beans, and sour cream. It was a spinach tortilla and well stuffed with chicken, beef, and peppers. I would say it was good. Overall, decent fare. It got busy as I was leaving and I saw 4 take out orders being picked up in the 60 minutes I was there.

Great food fantastic service was there on vacation with family and food was on point I got the seafood platter fisg and 5 different shrimp entree 2 was good but i couldn't eat the rest of shrimp it was in different sauces that I did not like the taste 1 of them tasted like shrimp soda the other shrimp vinegar the kids and my husband dishes were good I ate from theirs next time I visit I will get something else

We love this Mexican restaurant in Kissimmee. True Authentic Mexican food! Food was full of flavor and everything taste great! We can’t wait to go back and visit again when in Kissimmee. This restaurant is in a great spot, close to all Disney parks (20 minute drive). This place is also conveniently located near many other hotels, shops and restaurants. Parking can be troublesome and don’t let the outside of this restaurant fool you. This place is perfect!! We highly recommend this place when visiting the Disney parks or in the area of Kissimmee Florida!

Our favorite Mexican food joint by far. Their food is always fresh, tastes great and they serve large portions. We almost always order the same items and its always good. My son loves going there which is a huge plus bc he is very picky. They have a decent amount of tables so we have never waited for one. The wait staff is always nice and gets orders right every time.

Really great food. The chicken altimarano is my favorite. TRY IT! It's chicken in a really good sauce with jumbo shrimp and melted mozzarella cheese over the shrimp. I used to go there at least once a week, before I moved out of the area.

The food was definitely authentic Mexican. The presentation was a little sloppy, but that's part of the charm. You could tell the food had love cooked into it. Service was slower than I would have liked, but after being rushed all day in the parks the chance to sit and relax was so nice. The drinks were made perfectly and they were huge! No fake giant glass illusion here, they were just plain giant! Good hearty food for a price that can't be beat! Look forward to coming back here when we are in Orlando next month.
