Best Chinese food in miami! Not your average Chinese food joint. I could eat here everyday it never gets old. The food is always delicious and fresh and the service is great. Must try the shrimp egg rolls (my favorite egg rolls I have ever had), the shrimp & pork wontons in chili oil, the kung pao chicken, and salt & pepper shrimp are just some of my favorite dishes. Everything is great! Must try!
One of my top places for tasty chinese food. I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I liked.
The shop is really cool and the pizza was great. Points for the great chicken tortilla soup!
They serve big dishes and for fair prices. super nice staff members. Fantastic work.
Excellent food and service. Angus beef chow fun was delicious. The steamed chicken Sui Mei came out under cooked but they made new ones and comped the dish.
Food is great and freshly served The wonton soup is incredible and don't forget the dimsum a must place to visit when in midtown
Good place. Nice Chinese food from a American person
Asian "Fusion" is just another way of saying "I'm not going to bother putting in the effort to learn how to make authentic Asian cuisine so I'll put some cilantro and pickled something on it and charge the consumer through the nose for it". I'd rather pay less for something genuine and actually delicious.
Good food, unique and worrh the visit.
It a good place for a nice dim sum option And great service
Their kung poa is great! Great service also, great waiters!
I just i loved the food and they have a great service...
Great food and drinks, not cheap.
Love the food, and the wait staff remember who you are.
Great Service Great Food on an Asian Platform with clever twists
Delicious food,
don't let the name and exterior fool you ,this is an Asian inspired, mostly Chinese, spot. really solid quality and big portions.
This restaurant is quaint and the food was really good. We ordered the shrimp egg roll which was surprisingly good because I was never a fan of. The eggs rolls comes in twos and I paired it with the 7 year old tea. I'm a huge fan Coffee and Tea and this tea has no flavor
This may be me just being picky, but for the price point, location, and the way the place is presented, it was quite disappointing. Staff seemed to not know what was going on, constant bickering could be overheard. Seating was awful, there were 3 tables (6 seats) positioned right in front of the door and walking area where we were seated after reserving seats that had all the foot traffic and outdoor air coming in. Plating/presentation from table to table was inconsistent. Normally, I wouldn't review a place for such things, but when youre paying $20+ for a fried rice, these things matter. The food was not good enough for what it is. The Food: 6/10 Service: 4/10 Vibe/Atmosphere: 4/10 Unlikely to return or recommend to other people.
One of my favorite spots in Miami. I had the Fan Fan noodles and Cumin Lamb chops. Amazing!
Went in on a Wednesday afternoon and was seated very quickly. My waiter, Carlos, appeared very knowledgeable about the menu. He pointed out his personal favorites as well as their vegetarian options, which I appreciated as I am a vegetarian. I ordered the "2 dollar make you holla" drink, which was very strong. I was hoping for something a little more mellow, but considering it was $14 and the bartender was not skimpy with the gin, I really can't complain. The wrong food was brought out to my table on two different occasions, first because Carlos misheard what I had asked for and second because he took someone elses order to my table. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but it really did make the experience a little awkward. The food was good, I got the cucumber salad and the veggie dumplings. I would be willing to go back to try some more of their menu. The rating really came from my experience with the server, not the food or drink themselves.
Terrible greasy and oily food. Not authentic at all.
The person on the computer taking the order does not know what she is doing. She messed up the order, when I reached home I noticed that the order was not complete. For the food to be this expensive one would think the food would be great, but that's totally not true. There food was very greasy, it had had no taste, and the containers was full of oil. The chicken had no taste, it was just pure oil. The eggrolls was oily as well. The Lam taste wasn't oily but it tasted liked card board box. The spare ribs dry. After eating a little bit of the food I had diarrhea. THE FOOD IS JUST HORRIABLE. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY FOODFROM THEM AGAIN. OTHERS SHOULD NOT ORDER FROM THEM.
Food is quite good. I used to eat here fairly frequently and it is a nice spot with a good vibe. Service while friendly could have be better.
Really great food, super friendly service. The orange beef is a must!
Great food, great service
Love this place. Best Chinese in Miami. Love the dumplings, friend rice, lamb, egg rolls and wonton soup. And the spicy pepper sauce is great with everything. The place has also improved a lot. I first went when they opened and everything was super salty and tough. But after returning 7 months later, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was flavored perfectly and the meat was far more tender than what i originally had. Overall, the place has come along way and it's very good. Can't wait to return again.
Absolutely delicious! Whenever we want Chinese food this is the place to go. Chinese food is one of those things that is horrible in Miami but so far this place more than exceeds expectation! Food is served piping hot and always spot on. Place is clean, service is good, and Bruce Lee makes the night even better :)
Great drinks, and amazing food.
Wow!!! You MUST try it if you love Chinese. This is no regular joint. The Dim Sum is excellent. Came by because I was walking by and was curious since not many places carry Dim Sum and if they do it isn’t great. Will deff come back and try more on their menu! Delicious! The waiters were amazing as well. Super friendly and very helpful. Just what I love in a place like this!
We find this restaurant after I have search foursquare app on the phone to find out where we can eat a good Chinese food after the visiting of Miami Children's Museum. Interior is kind of interesting, the prices a big high I thinks but the food is tasty. We have tried: steamed shrimp & scallop dim sum (portion has 3 pieces) - really tasty dish; steamed chicken sui mei - kind of weird dish don't really like it; pork cheek pan fried dumplings - ok dish kinda like it; pan fried pork bao bun - mouthwatering dish; halapenjo beef - one of the best I have ever tried, really recommend it. Definitely will be back here again.
The lobster fried rice and dim sum are amazing!
Cute small size restaurant, max 50 guests inside, but has a few tables outside. Menu is not very chinese traditional, somewhat chef specific, some dishes were amazing, some not. Place was almost full on Friday night, friendly staff, moderate price.
Excellent General Tsos chicken with still crispy breading.
I would give it a minus 5 if I could. The taste is not even close to the taste of Chinese food. The service is even worse. We waited for more than 15 mins for the wine to be served, more than 30 mins for the food to be served. Never ever come back again
First time eating here! I'll be back for more soon!!
I love this place. Salt and pepper shrimp is my everyday lunch.
Orange peel crispy beef was to hard to cut had to ask for a shaper knife which isn't the knife type given to customers. Hong Kong Wonton soup tasted odd & had to many thick spaghetti pasta in it which made it over welming to try to eat so I ate soup alone. The Lobster Fried Rice was Delicious plenty lobster chunks. Ice cream with guayaba was delicious. Wines are good. Music was up beat. Place was clean. I love Master Bruce Lee on Wall I'm a fan for life, but not a fan of the menu prices. So pricey I payed $88.00 yet other than the lobster rice & guayaba w/ice cream everything else was hard to bring down therefore I left almost all my food. Wouldn't go there again.
This place is amazing. Mapo Tofu, Duck fried rice, egg rolls, peking duck, noodles, GATOR....GATOR...GENERAL TSO's GATOR. Ice cream at the end. So good
Overpriced and definetly not that good. Everything was salty, took forever, and the prices man were they outrageous. Dont mind paying over 25 dollars a plate if the portion size and taste justifies it. Try out their other restaurant Sakaya instead. Much better experience and food.
If you enjoy spicy Szechuan style this place delivers. The food was delicious and flavors were authentic. Actually got that numbness on my tongue from the Szechuan peppercorns. The Kung Pao chicken was excellent, not that sticky sweet carry out style. Our son that works out of Shanghai agreed that this was the real deal in style and flavor. Nice selection of wines to enjoy with your dishes.
Holy mackerel! From the bbq pork buns to the honey chicken, this place rocks! Service on a Monday night was good. Ordered a cocktail from the menu and it rocked. Parking is available either on the street or in a structure.
Good Chinese food!
After seeing Black Brick on DDD, my husband and I wanted to try Black Brick. We live in Broward and made the trek Midtown. Definitely worth the trip. The ambiance fit our age group (late 30s). The wait staff was inviting, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. The food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I had the chicken fried dumplings mmmmmm for an appetizer and the Cumin Lamb Chops for my main course ....holy cow! My husband had the shrimp and scallop dumpling appetizer and the Steamed BBQ Pork Char Siu Bso Bun, which he thoroughly enjoyed. His main courses, yes courses, General Tso’s Florida Gator and Dan Dan Mian. He loved them all! We will definitely be back!
Extremely creative Chinese cusine with a twist. Quite expensive, but worth an occasional visit. The General Tao's gator was amazing as was the rose flavored hot tea.
Having spent the better part of the past 2 years in China and Southeast Asia, I can assure this is the most authentic I have found here in Miami. Kung Pao Chicken was on point and their use of Sichuan Peppercorns for flavor and heat demonstrates their authenticity which is not seen in most places. The chicken feet in black bean sauce was very much what I would get in a true Cantonese restaurant in southern China’s Guangzhou province or Hong Kong.
Great food and service
Best Chinese restaurant in Miami, period. If you haven’t been to China, forget what you think you know about Chinese food from the typical cheap spots, this is the real deal, have been here at least 25 times since they opened. Complex flavors, great dishes, everything is good on the menu. Could improve the quality of the sake they sell.
One of the best asian spots in South Florida, hands down.
Really delicious food, plus friendly and helpful staff
They give my childen suimei with raw pork in it. When I show it to them. They said it's OK that it's just didn't cooked enough and Sorry for that.l can't acceptable, could l say sorry for that too? I'll give lower if I CAN.
Best Dumplings Ever!!
A classic overhyped Chinese fusion kitchen. The food is sometimes really good, sometimes below expectations. Seems to depend on the day. I would generally recommend to go here, but don't put your expectation too high.
Pricey but good. Service was timely given the fact that we dined during peak hours. Be aware that if you are seated outside in the late afternoon/evening hours you will have to contend with the sun. 4 Stars only because the Black Brick platter which is noted to serve 2-3 people was sparse and the two of us ended up needing to order a secondary dish to compensate.
Fantastic food. The service was impeccable.
Good comments are really considered here. I did not expect too much and got tremendous value for my dollar. This is one of the best Chinese products I have ever eaten. According to a family member, I said: Jan has been here for 25 years. So, support the local FL business.
I waited 20 minutes for a server to come to my table. when no server came to my table I got up and I went to the counter and I said "hey I'm waiting for service" 15 minutes later & no service so I got up and I said you just lost a customer and walked out. the paper version of Karen just seemed more interested in joking and talking to each other than taking care of the customers.
Great friendly staff and a very interesting menu. This restaurant if very vegan friendly, which shows how confident they in their cuisine. Definitely a must try for all, and favorite for me.
Go to Tap 42 instead!!!! My food was bad the service was bad. We order our dinner and we're encouraged by the waiter Juan L. to order an appetizer since it would be about "25 minutes" before our order would come out. So we ordered some eggrolls, before we could start the eggrolls my dinner was brought to the table. My friends food was not, I asked what happened to "25 minutes", he replied the cook is faster than the others. 10-12 minutes later, my friends food was still not brought out. At one point the waiter asked "Are you done yet?" Please do not go here.
First time here. The shrimp dumplings were very good. Every other dish was very saucy and salty. The service was below average and prices was a little high.
No way this is Chinese food. Everything is greasy and oily.
dont let those high prices trick you. uses cheap ingredients bad taste and 0 services order from panda express lol way better than that.
I love it! This was my first time here and my first time trying .They have a great formula. Good fusions of flavors. All cooked to order. The brussel sprouts are very good.Five stars!
This is fusion Asian food. Not very true to Asian flavours and the hand made noodles, the main reason I have it a shot to begin with, were served dry (no broth). My dish was spicier than other dishes that were marked as "spicy". Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall service was slow.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. I was only in Miami for a night and I'm glad I made this my dinner destination.
Ive spent two of my birthdays here and the gator they serve here is sooo goood , i would have never tried it if it wasnt for this restaurant
I enjoyed the food. It was a little pricey lunch for 2 came out to close to $100 but its probably because we ordered way too much. The fried rice was a little disappointing. The Bao buns were on point and so were the fried chicken dumplings.
Nice ppl great food
Edgy concept with fantastic menu, decor and service. Was laid over in Miami for seven hours so I wandered around midtown and stumbled in to this place. Hip-hop (not too loud, just right) coupled with emperor portraits of chuck Norris, Bruce lee and Keith Richards enjoying generous wall space made this an interesting find from the start. The idea is to come in groups, and have the table share from a number of orders - but I made this work by ordering an app and a smaller entree. At its heart, Black Brick is a dim sum joint - so I ordered the cumin lamb dumplings. Very nice - although a smidge too salty for me (I commonly think this - so I admit it's me and not the general population). Four came and it was a great start. Presentation was right there with substance. Many meats are represented on the menu - but all I needed to see was Rabbit - and so I ordered the Gong Bao Rabbit (with roasted peanuts, jalapeño and Sichuan peppers. Sublime. Truly. The rabbit characteristics stood solid and expressed themselves amid a platescape of flavor. I'd love to come back.
One of the few restaurants I can very easily recommend. Chef Joseph will make you feel like at home except even better as no home cooks like his! Every client and friend from all over the world I have taken there has gave it a 5 star rating. Great decor, friendly staff that remembers your favorites when you come back. Enjoy!!!
This place is amazing. We pretty much had every wonton and dumpling dish and they are phenomenal. We had the twice cooked pork belly and the honey garlic chicken...stupendous! We also ordered shrimp fried rice...outstanding. The service was wonderful. The manager actual Lou say down with Laverne and Shirley (two older woman who spoke no English) and explained the menu to them. I have no complaints at all. The place is super clean and so is the bathroom. They made all our dishes exactly how we wanted them (no sauce on this, extra on that) and waiter was in and out all the time, taking plates as we finished. The place was half full and the service was just amazing. I will be back again...often.
I really want to give this place 5 stars and would have given it less stars if it wasn't for the food being so AMAZINGly delicious. They are probably in major need of better management. We made a reservation and showed up to have to wait 30 min for a table. We sat at the bar to wait for a table and ordered drinks and an appetizer. We eventually were seated at a table and still waited a long time for our order to be taken. Our main course got there and we never got our appetizer. The kitchen staff seemed to be goofing around half the time too. The food is amazing but need to work on everything else.
I went here with my father. He is old school and did not really like restaurant. I, on the other hand, am adventurous. I loved the food as it puts a new spin on typical Chinese dishes.
Fun place to watch sporting events!
So freakin’ expensive, but so freakin’ delicious.
Went with a group of four - all of our foods were delicious. I order the Dan Dan Mian, and if you like peanut based dishes this will be right up your alley. Portions were more than plenty, they have us something to snack on (Chinese bread) free of charge. Prices are affordable. Again, all amazing food and can't say enough good things about the staff, they're amazing. Only downside, which is out of the restaurants control is the parking situation.
The fried rice dish is amazing. There is also a spicy chicken dish I really enjoyed. Visit this restaurant if you're in midtown..
Been here 3 times... it's great. Foods was great and the staff is friendly . Some however time I come they just ran out of stick rice . Enjoy
1sr triple D place I've been to that was actually good.... Really good!
I love it the ambiance the food, the service. The fried rice with lobster was great. I want to come back to try other dishes
Love the food
It was good but nothing to brag about. Short list of dim sum
Don’t waste your time! 1) Went in asked for dumplings as an app and they came last. 2. The menu has a veggie section and it advertised cucumber and radish plate. ( not once did it say it was a salad) the plate litterallt was half a cucumber cut with soy sauce. This dish was $14.00 3) I don’t mind paying for good food and this was not it. The waiter didn’t waste their time trying to explain the dishes kinda just passed by and asked what we wanted. Overall not a place I would going back to.
Good eats. I've only been to the place once and ate the sampler plate of lamb, ribs, chicken wings and egg roll. Service was excellent and friendly. I will give it another go soon.
The best tasting food ever
It's a cute little restaurant. The food was good but I had higher expectations. The fried rice was really delicious though. Very freshly made. I had a tofu dish that was delicious. Tofu was crispy on outside. They don't really have many vegan options and even had dishes labeled as vegetarian but weren't. So be sure to ask!
Great Chinese food with cool atmosphere and location
Good options and and tasty food. A bit pricey for what you are getting.
We stopped in just having been to Sakaya Kitchen and grabbed some ribs off the appetizer part of the menu...we opted for the "Hawaiian" versions and they were quite tasty. Our server, originally from New York, was very friendly and courteous...I can't recall his name (sorry).
The place looks good with a nice decoration. It has a good, average service, but the food it’s too pricey for what it actually is, also not a lot of vegetarian options. Wouldn’t recommend or eat here again.
Had been here a few times previously and had good experiences. Not this time. Arrived at 9:20, clearly wait staff displeased (they are open until 10). Told they "do not have" 3/4 of the menu. Did not bring out 1 entree. Then rushed us to leave. Literally turned out the lights at 10:10. Horrible experience. Close at 9:00 if you don't want the business.
One of my favorite places to grab some food. awesome location, neat, and good service. I highly recommend them!
This is a great hangout spot for late night dining with friends. The view of Midtown Miami is gorgeous at night. The inside is large enough for small parties and there's a bar area as well. Our waiter was amazing! Thanks for the experience and laughs, Beecher!
Quite tasty, lamb was great, ribs, pork cheek, pork buns, chicken noodles.
The food was so good here, it made me feel like I was back in China! Everything is so fresh and flavorful and very authentic! Excellent service, too!
This place is highly recommended, and the food is very tasty. Elevated Chinese food with amazing flavors. Great atmosphere, too.
Very tasty Chinese food and dim sum. I definitely recommend going here.
Food was simply amazing! I saw this place on an episode of Diners Drive ins and Dives. We traveled to Miami on a short vacation and this was on my list places to eat. I wasn't disappointed. I had the Dan Dan Mian and my wife had Honey Chicken. The portion sizes are large so be prepared to eat or take some home like we did. I will be back when ever I'm in town.
Early Monday night review. Restaurant had 3-4 tables full. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was good, but ordering can quickly end up with a table heavily laden of fried options covered in sweet sticky sauce. Food was good - but as other reviewers have said: 1. Be prepared for the fact that it is fusion Chinese-American. Pluses for flavors/spices outside of typical "Chinese American" restaurants (Xi-an, Sichuan) which I loved. 2. Prices are a bit steep, I imagine this is due to the location (MIA + near the design district and shopping/condos). 3. Parking can be a bit of trouble, try the parking garages if street parking is gone (not too far of a walk, but you might want to buffer 5-15 min for walking from your spot) We had: >Pork Siu Mei Dumplings (Didn't have it, our party did - there was still one left at the end of the night, which I guess tells you where they ranked) >Shrimp & Scallop Dumplings (Over steamed? The wrappings were gooey and too thick) >Char Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Buns) - Great, very sweet (very similar to those you get in chinatowns, but 3x the price) >The Black Platter ($35 for 3 Lamb Chops which were delicious!, 2 ribs - too tough in hoisin sauce, cucumber salad - pieces were big bites with some shaved radish, 2 ginormous egg rolls that you needed a fork and knife to eat, 3 chicken wings, beautifully presented) > 2 orders of Fried Chicken & Garlic Dumplings (very crispy with white chicken inside, didn't get much of the garlic taste, these were covered in a sugar syrup - like a crunchier dumpling version of Honey Garlic Chicken - would not get 2 orders again, way too heavy, but yummy. Definitely NOT Chinese). >Xi-an Cumin Lamb Dumplings - these were great, not too spicy. Different recipe to any of the Xi-An's in NYC you might have been to. Good. >Hong You Chao Shou - Steamed dumplings in chili oil sauce. Great! >Yeung Chow Fr Rice - rice with mini sausage slices (tasted candied?) and big chunks of pork (like the red ribs) >Jasmine Tea was excellant and very very hot. >Iguana Bait beer was on special for $5 and tasted like Asahi/Sapporo with honey finish. Our party of 4 loved it, total bill came out to $135 pre-tip. $34pp pre-tip.
Great Chinese food
This small little quaint Chinese restaurant in Midtown Miami is a gem wow the server was very knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction when ordering we had two wonderful dishes and shared them amongst three people and it was plenty of food this place is reasonably price and very flavorfulIf you’re in Miami or Miami Beach or South Miami or North Miami this place is worth the drive or the Uber to get there
Over price food for no reason.. wonton soup 18$ ?? Just for boiled water with 2 wonton.. ridiculous
Worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. No one attends you as you walk in and the staff was so arrogant. Giving it one star because theres no way you can leave a review without putting at least one.
Didn’t even have to order! Phenomenal experience! Thank you Douglas @douglasquarteze @midtownchinese
Food was fantastic. The Gator was by far the best, closely followed by the duck. The only reason I gave them 4 stars was the service. The service was slow, distracted and a little sloppy.
The most tasteful Chinese cuisine I have had outside of China Town NY and my Taiwanese friend mom's kitchen! The flavors are a happy fair for the pallet. My husband and I shared fried, sweet savory shrimp dumplings, steamed scallops dim sum, fish and beef noodles with the side of ginger garlic bok choy (yeah...we are foodies
Please, please go eat here! The food is 5 star, the thought that is put into each dish is outstanding. As a retired Chef with plenty of Chinese/American cooking experience I'm here to tell you this is some of the best that exists!
Really good Chinese food. Knowledgeable waitress helped us pick our dishes. Fun vibe. Solid beer list too.
Great food - everything is really fresh. Good to go with a large group and order a bunch of dishes to share and then split the bill equal ways.
Decent Chinese food. Not what I imagined but close enough. A bit pricy but it’s normal in Miami. Recommend if you’re hungry for some Chinese food !! Nice vibe and setup. Location is convenient and friendly staff.
Great great great chinese. A bit expensive but not like ordinary chinese...different veggies than regular boring chinese. Lots of vegetarian options.
Good dumplings and decent chinese food. The service is sometimes mediocre but it’s a good go to for dumplings and spicey Chinese if you want it.
GOOD CHINESE. GOOD VIBE. OPEN LATE. NOT EXPENSIVE
Service was great but the food was way over priced and the portions were extremely small ! So disappointed and left hungry smh won't be back!
My wife and I discovered Sakaya Kitchen the week it opened and became instant huge fans and told everyone we knew about it. We were excited to discover some time ago that the owner/chef of Sakaya was opening Black Brick. We have been looking for quality high end Asian food since Chu's closed in the Gables and was hoping that Black Brick would fill this very large void. What a complete disappointment. Sakaya is half the price of Black Brick and 3 times better food. When you pay $8 for an egg roll and $10 for dim sum dumpling, it better be good. Both were pedestrian at best and in fact I have several Chinese take out hole in the walls near me that do a better job with flavors than Black Brick. You can get top quality dim sum all over Miami for one third the price. My wife compared it to a Chinese buffet. At least at the buffet you would get all you can eat for the price of one greasy soggy egg roll at Black Brick. How bad was this experience? I've been reading Yelp for years. Way before most people even heard of it. I have been the go to person in the circle for recommending food. My Facebook page is filled with reviews so friends would know where to go. How bad was Black Brick? This is my first review on Yelp ever! I feel robbed. More than that I feel raped. No I will take it one step further...I feel date raped. I knew the quality of Sakaya and I felt safe going out to dinner with him at his other restaurant. After this experience, I would feel safer as a cute college girl having drinks at Bill Coby's place than ever trying another one of his restaurants. Safe yourself the overpriced, over-greased food and go across the street to their original restaurant...Sakaya Kitchen.
Everything we ordered was fried to death. The spareribs looked like food scraps and were the worst in my life. Tasted like warmed up leftover ribs. When we asked for the bill the server implored us to leave cash as tip.... totally inappropriate. Be glad that i actually give you 20% cause I feel bad for you.
Please don’t pay with a cc I was there on Thursday night feb 22 my meal was $36 and I found out they charge cc 82 they added $46 dollars to the bill. How do you that and think you are going to get away with it
Absolutely amazing place! Old school hip hop in the background, funky art on the walls, and some of the best food I’ve ever had! Four of us ordered a total mix off of the menu, while asking our servers what they liked the most...listen to those guys, they won’t steal you wrong. Also, get the cauliflower...seriously, don’t question it, just do it!
1. They should hire more servers because it's obviously understaffed. Our waiter did not even come to ask how the food was, and the bus boy ran off even though I needed something from him. 2. The ribs are the driest I've probably ever had. One of them came burned to completely black. 3. Dumplings are overpriced and not tasty. Go to Hakkasan and enjoy it. 4. Lamb noodles were the only decent dish. I can handle bad service if the food is good. But bad service and bad food means I'm never coming back.
Service was very poor and basically nonexistent... no one ever asked us if we needed refills or how our meal was... we were never served ... every time we needed something, we had to flag done the staff ... horrible way to dine when you have to flag the staff down... wouldn’t go back ...
amazing food!
Decent dim sum. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and the beer on tap was good. I have been to blackbrick numerous time and enjoy myself each time.
Disappointing
This is my go to spot in Midtown, as Edgewater doesn't have the best of restaurants. The ambiance is chill and it can get loud, when it's busy. Great service staff. To ensure you get a seat after 5ish Thursday through Sunday, make reservations. I enjoy sitting at the bar. I like this restaurant too because I HAVE NOT seen any dogs inside. Try the shrimp and scallop dumplings, they're the best. The shrimp and pork dumplings are great too. The fried rice is a great entree dish too.
Outrageously overpriced, facilities look like a fast food place but they charge you like it's a fancy new york restaurant, food is ok but absolutely not worth the price, two of their tables are unusable due to proximity to the door, very uncomfortable, Service was friendly but incredibly slow. Go somewhere else. UPDATE they also respond rudely to criticism so one star removed ;)
Great food, pricey but worth it: Service a little slow but it was a Friday night.....will try again.
The cumin lamb chop were fantastic!great place can’t wait to go back. I’m telling all my friends.
Started off with the shrimp dumplings which were perfectly cooked and delicious, and had the home style tofu for the main course! Everything was fresh and cooked well, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere in the dining room is very comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again in the future!
Some of the most delicious ramen and asian food in downtown Miami! Cute cozy spot, great for dates or small groups of friends. This place is so good I'd wait over 40 mins to get a table here. Love it!
Best American style Chinese
If you have ever had authentic Chinese cuisine you would know their shared dishes are subpar due to the dishes loaded with sauce. You're basically tasting all the sweet sauce that is drenched in the dishes. The steamed dishes are good in contrast to the heavy sauced dishes. I read the other reviews and cannot believe so many rave about the food. I'm disappointed and will not return. Cooks need to learn to cook authentic Chinese food without relying on cooking with a lot of sweet sauce.
Excellent service! We tried two types of dumplings, the spicy cauliflower, shrimp fried rice and steamed snapper. The food was delicious and large portions. I would definitely go back again to try other items on the menu. Oh and with the drinks they used fresh fruit and they were awesome! :)
I give the food a 5 star and the service too!. We drove from the Treasure Coast to meet our family at the Black Brick. We enjoyed the food and the service. Our waiter was Esteban and he really helped us select the dishes. Everything we ordered was fabulously delicious..
Really awesome food and very d Super awesome service. Loved the Dim Sum had a great taste as it was in Japan.
I am not one to give negative reviews unless a place consistently disappoints. This restaurant used to be good long ago but has gone downhill and remains on a downhill path. Food quality is decayed and obviously management does not care any more. I made a uber eats order and they missed the original delivery time by over an hour and they fogot an item on my menu. When I called to see what was going on they did not even pick up the phone. The worst part the food turned out to be mediocre. I spoke to the driver who delivered the food and he said that the restaurant was pretty empty and other Uber drivers were waiting as well for pickups that were delayed. I hope the owner / management will address this so they don't lose any other customers.
They have good noodles. I haven't try their Dim Sum. The peanut and pork noodles is spicy.
We went to this place for a Sunday lunch after reading the great reviews. My husband ordered the ribs as an appetizer, he said they were good, but a bit tough. I agree. I ordered the boiled Snapper, which was served with three large lettuce type pieces. The snapper was good, but very bland and it had the skin on one side. Turn off! My husband ordered the shrimp fried rice and that was amazing. Very tasty and plenty of shrimp. The only reason why I’m rating it with two stars is because of the price. The Snapper was $25 dollars for a very small filet, I’m not even mentioning the three pieces of greens! The ribs were $19 dollars, not worth the price for the quality. When we received the bill the suggested tip started like this, 20%, 25% and 30%. REALLY? We tried the place and didn’t think it was so amazing. We probably will not return. Our server was awesome though.
Went there hungry and came out completely satisfied. Visiting from Austin and we know good food but these guys' cuisine is YUMMY. Our favorite were the lamb chops.
The food was late. Very late... But, wow, once it arrived it was quite phenomenal. For how long I waited I was very much planning a 1* review, but the quality and authenticity convinced me otherwise.
I love their bubble tea here! Their oolong tea wirh brown sugar boba is just the best! Make sure you get no sweetener bc boba is already sweet! The lines vary but if long, goes fast.
麻婆豆腐 Mapotoufu n 烧麦 shaomai are super delicious!!!Kenney is a very nice and helpful server. Highly recommend!
Good place for Chinese in Miami. Good service and good food especially the lamb dumplings..
Really good food- had some dim sum and ended up taking the Peking Duck home!
A favorite spot for chinese food. great location to meet with friends. next time i'll be back with my coworkers. the place has a good feel to it. similar to a cafe in las vegas i liked.
Food was delicious. The staff were very helpful and the location is easy to get to
Ok positives first, music and atmosphere was cool. Service wasnt bad. The food however was mediocre. It could have been from frozen dimsum. It tasted like it. Nothing special there are better asian places. The food isn't authentic or even novel enough for a fusion place. And it's pricey for small portions.
This place was great. Menu explained very well. Food was dope
Good service, however food was tailored for the western palate.
I started visiting the midtown area recently. A lot of places to see. Who doesn't like Asian Cuisine after a long day of nothing. Definitely recommend it, even if you dont live nearby and happen to be on byscane. Friendly and mature staff. They even have take out! So if you happen to be at BlackBrick bring me some! ;-)
Always good and spicy
Deliciously greatt
Very good
Food is amazing. Service could be a bit better. It's a small place, but the vibe is nice
Excellent food by any standard. Well priced. Great portions. All in all a great place for Asian food.
Feels like home. Asian soul food. Great servers .
Great food, large portions, helpful staff
Had the Tso gator and a handmade lemonade at my server Lillith's suggestion. It was wonderful.
Small place. Parking difficult. Staff was very nice; but food is overpriced. Not sure I'd go here again.
