Had something new here, deep fried, smoked ribs! I was skeptical, but the batter was light and they were hot and tender and had a lot of meat on the bone! Really surprisingly good! Service was good, but they were super busy. Needed more bacon on the fries and potato skins, but really good otherwise! I'd go back again!

I came to the restaurant and was immediately seated and the waitress was there in a flash and I asked for a sweet iced tea. I was ready to order by the time she brought it to me. My order got to me within 15 minutes, which was a surprise because it was starting to get busy for dinner service. I got the 16 oz ribeye dinner with BBQ beans and fries. This steak was HUGE and literally took up over half of the plate. It was medium rare and seasoned well, which was perfect for me. The fries were good (you really can't screw that up!), but the beans were disappointing. I didn't expect them to be as good as Sonny's, but c'mon, guys! The beans knocked a star off of what could have been a perfect meal!

Wonderful place! Had baby back ribs, new York steak and the rib eye. All cooked well, nice sides, delicious. Not too far from the interstate. Very cold beer! Tara our waitress was absolutely wonderful, very nice. Customer service oriented. Definitely coming back!

Best barbecue I've ever had. Their wings are smoked then they make hot wings with them. I haven't had a bad meal or bad service in all my experiences there. The children's combos are large enough for them. Their salad bar has great options and the bathroom is always spotless! There is family seating, its roomy and always has a really great atmosphere. If you are in that area it's the best place to stop.

What can you do and where can you go to get GOOD bar-b -que ? Big Wood in Live Oak, Fl. of course. We came back to the area after being gone for a long time and what a surprise to find this place. It is great. Try the sliced pork salad, it's so big and tasty you'll have to get half of it to go. And the sweet tea is the best. 5 stars here :)

Steak was great. Cooked perfectly how I ordered it. Sides were great as well. Food came out very quickly. Very friendly and attentive staff. Despite the fact my wife and I came in 18 minutes till closing time we still recieved excellent service. Really clean and nice restaurant.Would definitely recommend big wood to everyone.

First time eating at this establishment. The overall experience was excellent. Service was good, the food was good. The choice of sauces were different. The atmosphere is overall different, if you dont mind looking at deer heads and buffalo heads. The overall experience was good.

I forgot which truck stop was 10 miles away and that bothers me because I would love to go back here. In fact they have truck parking. The ribs are awesome, the rice and beans are as well. I wanted seconds, almost forgot I was in a business. I don't remember my waitress name but she was awesome also.

Awesome wings! We also ordered the Feast for two and it was massive! We ended up boxing most and spent the next week or so eating the leftovers. All tasted great. Loved the ham.

Big wood BBQ is your destination for Florida BBQ. With a great menu courtious and friendly staff it's definitely a must visit . A variety of amazing house sauces compliment the well cooked meat. Speaking of meat this dog loooooved the cute pigs everywhere. All the deer on the walls also make a great way to hang up your hat. Stopped by on a recommendation from a local and was not disappointed. Great smoked chicken that fell off the bone. Loaded potato was delicious and salted on the outside. Green beans made with onion and bacon just like my grandma used to make! Friendly and attentive service and reasonably priced.

Wow... I had the 20 oz double burger with jalapenos on it. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Split a blooming onion with my girl. First burger ever i couldnt finish. Not sure what the fries were like, too full to try. Loomed like crinkle cut. Service was great, Southern Sweet and friendly. Fantastic experience. Next time we pass through we will definitely stop by.

First time here, we are from Baltimore and were here to see family. Excellent food (I am particular, so trust when I say excellent, I mean it). They are busy on Sunday (cause close at 3pm).. especially this day b/c mother's day but service was great! Sam was our server/bartender and even with jet lag she treated us great. Expect to wait to be seated and a bit for your food, but well worth the wait.

Waitress was nice but food was not. Cute and clean restaurant. Pork was greasy, chicken tenders were frozen not fresh or homemade. Garlic bread was little butter no garlic and onion rings were greasy. This was our first visit. Not worth the price in our opion.

I had a decent experience but the Bar B Q could be better. The sauce was good but the ribs were chewy and didn't have much if any rub. The meat was smoked well though. Sides were Ok.

So we ordered the pulled pork plate, the chops and two corn dogs for our two kids. We also added on 2-1 trip salad bars. Everyone except me had water including the kids. The kids meals were $4.99 each on the menu. I stressed to the waitress that we didn’t want the meal which came with sides and drinks, just the corn dogs. We got our food. The pulled pork was greasy and flavorless. The chops were dry and flat like they’d had a grill press put on top of them as well as flavorless. I didn’t send anything back because we had been on road all day plus I don’t really trust people. We get the check and looked it over and listed on the check is 2 kids meals @ 4.99 each!!! I asked our new server, since our original one just disappeared and the new one came and told us that she was our server, why I had gotten charged for kids meals. She said anytime that you order anything off of the kids menu you get charged full price, but that she would “see what she could do” since we didn’t get the side. She gave a measly $1.50 off of each kids meal making them $3.49 each FOR A CORN DOG!!!! Even if I lived here I would never eat here or recommend this restaurant to anyone especially one with kids!!! And yes before you assume anything I still tipped 18%! What a rip-off!!!

One of the most consistent restaurants I've been to, always great attentive quick service and great food. One of the only places around that knows how to bbq and smoke meat. On the small chance something isn't perfect, if told they will happily fix it.

Found this place while looking for Walmart. I knocked Down one star because of the salad bar and the corn.the food was outstanding. The service was outstanding too.the drinks were good i had the margarita. The salad bar is limited not worth paying for. The corn on the cob is not crisp its soggy.wish we had it here in Miami. Planning a visit hopefully not too full to eat dessert. The atmosphere feels like you are in a cabin.

Ordered the 20 ounce burger, apparently the first customer to ever order it! It wasn't as intimidating as the server made it out to be, flavours were great! Burger patties made fresh daily and the customer service was friendly and welcoming. Thanks for the great experience, also has great t-shirts to take home as a souvenir. Worthy of a stop by!

BBQ was great no complaints here, the staff was friendly as can be prices was about right for a BBQ place and the sweet tea was great love it!! FYI the potato salad isn't on the menu but you can ask for it as a side and it's not bad either. So all in all I'll give it a five star.

The experience was as great as the food! Our server Austin was AWESOME! Try a unique dining experience! Order the sampler for 2, 4 or 8 comes on a trash can lid! It's new and has wax paper but totally unique! Food was excellent! Going ba k on Sunday, but only open til 3:00 pm, go hungry!

Nice little small town BBQ option. If you're looking for "to-die-for" Brisket or fall-off-the-bone ribs, this probably isn't your place. But, for Live Oak, it's hard to eat much better than this.

Juicy ribs fast and prompt sercive. My sweet tea never once went dry and i drink like i just came out the desert. The sweet tea taste just like real southern sweet tea should. The place was very clean and had a very beautiful southern charm to it. To say the least, i am im love with this place. Will be coming back.
