I thought that in order to experience real American BBQ I had to go to Texas or other states that are famous for their BBQ until I discovered this hidden gem. I was mind blown by the superb quality of the food which was flavorful, succulent, and most importantly very smoky. The place is beautiful and gives you authentic barbecue vibes. The staff was very friendly and cordial. I tried the brisket smoked burnt ends and the dino rib and I would definitely recommend both. Don't miss this place if you are a BBQ lover.

The food was great. Are waiter was horrible. He never came back to are table after we ordered. We sat there with are plates and cups empty just wanting are check and he would not acknowledge that we were there. I finally had to get his attention while he was at another table just to ask for are bill. He still didn't bring the bill. I had to walk to the bar and ask someone else to cash us out. It's a small place and they weren't busy at all. Absolute garbage service

If there was an option to chose no stars I would chose that as my rating for this restaurant. I have never seen such horrible customer service in my life. I ordered a 60$ steak and when I received it it was over cooked and the manager was fighting with me on how it was cooked and brought my steak back cut up to prove it was cooked the way I wanted. Not only was the customer service bad there was so much disrespect . I will never come back to this restaurant in my life.

Prices are pretty steep, but food was excellent. I had the chicken Cobb salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection, I can't remember the last time I tasted grilled chicken that was that good. Salad portion was huge and filling, very satisfying.

Let me just say that this place is great. The staff match the atmosphere with their laid back personalities and the music and energy of this place is low key and relaxing. It’s a great dive if you have some time and the vibe you get coming here is really fitting for the part of town it’s in. The food was amazing and although my food was a little salty as far as the meat goes, the sauce redeems it in every way and you feel like this is some down home Texas cooking. Two kinds of sauce are offered here, and let me say the one for poultry is damn good. Fries are thick cut and hot, and the food doesn’t take long to get out. Definitely recommend. Great food and a good place to chill over lunch for a few.

We had a reservation for 9:15. Waited till 10 to be seated. Once we’re seated and drinking their water, they give us the menu. After waiting another 10 minutes before giving our order they inform us that nothing on the menu is left except for their burgers and chicken. Of course we didn’t go there for either. The burger buns were soggy the burgers were fatty. Bad experience.

We placed reservations but apparently they way overbook because when we got there, we found a full restaurant and a line of people all waiting with the same reservation times. Might be worth a shot, just have a backup plan.

Food (burnt ends and mash potatoes) was flavorful, enjoyed. Service was questionable for lunch and subpar for the price. First time going there and it wasn’t open on time; “opens at 12pm”. The only server was overwhelmed early by guest and phone calls, and it showed.

While the food was absolutely wonderful. The attentiveness to their outdoor patrons was a tad lacking. Furthermore people would say things were in stock but were not. While I get it was end of night, and after a grueling week from the music community. I am sure they thought our group and I weren't locals, and we're just tired of it. Still we brought our Jewish friend there for a wonderful kosher experience. While the food provided that, the presentation was amazing, service about average, not as high as expected, and the outdoor tables will spill your sauces if you are not extremely careful because they aren't balanced.

Amazing food. Good service. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the burnt ends and pecan pie. Empanadas and BBQ beef were amazing too. Kid friendly place. Line was out the door and the place was packed. Make sure to make a reservation and confirm it or you may not be able to be seated!!! Even with a reservation you may have to wait, but worth the wait. Ambiance is nice , well decorated. Owner Mendel is nice and hands on, making sure everything is taken care of. Booths and tables available. Space is a bit tight to accommodate the crowds. Outdoor seating is also available, weather permitting. Portions are on the smaller side. Prices were fair. 18 percent gratuity was automatically included in bill. Food came super fast ,10 min for the first half, 36 min for the second half (wish they all came together though). No complimentary appetizer etc. Gave plastic cups not glass. Wait staff were super busy and overwhelmed so had to wait a while for water refills or any requests . Side of greens beans $6 came after we had finished our meal thought we had asked for it a few times. Many of the main entrees did not come with sides. Ex BBQ burnt ends came with a tiny dressing size portion of coleslaw.

The food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful but she was overwhelmed with customers and no help. We sat there and sat there. Finally she comes to the table and your check comes on a little hand held computer. She said there was an 18% tip already added but by that time you're tired and just want out. It was $49 for just my daughter and I. I drank water and my daughter had a frozen lemonade. I had the bbq Sunday and she had salmon. I felt it was WAY overpriced and when I got back calculated that they overcharged me at least $4 not to mention how ridiculously high the food was priced. Great bbq but BEWARE of the cost.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to any black person. Because it’s seems like they ignore black people. Wasn’t greeted upon entering received menus and water after waiting ten minutes. Two other groups were helped before us even though we arrived before. Visiting on Memorial Day not busy at all so there’s no excuse. After getting menus wasn’t approached again. Definitely a horrible experience for me.

They only had one waitter on a Sunday with a very rude attitude towards other customers. We waited and observed for about 15 to 20 minutes. He never even looked at us. Just ignored us, even when we stand and walked out. Place was not even full. Horrible customer service. We are never coming back and I do NOT recommend this place. Go spend your money somewhere else.

I took one star out because of I was overcharged for a bottle of wine, which I only realized after I got home and yes I'm sure of the wine I got and what the price was on the menu. Excellent kosher southern BBQ: as long as you're down with fairly fatty, succulent, fall-off-the-bone cuts of meat, the dinosaur ribs and burnt ends won't disappoint. My personal favorite is the chili con carne, served piping hot with tortilla chips. Mix in two tablespoons of ketchup and you've got a little bowl of heaven.

The short ribs were delicious, and the smoked brisket melted in your mouth. The service was also very good. I loved the wood and brick southern decor. The only con would be the prices, which are a little steep for what you get. Still, I'll definitely be going back to try the lamb ribs and the veal.

The brisket was too dry but still tasty. The burnt ends in the picture were delicious, but the portions were small. The green beans were crisp like I like, and although they had a smoky flavor, the flavor intensity was not there. Also, the price was a little steep at about $28 for bbq & one side. Came here on a very busy night. Service was still great. We got the poutine which was pretty good but could've used more salt. We also got the empanadas which were tasty. I got the rack of ribs which was expensive but worth it. Very juicy they just fell off the bone. My wife got the Cobb salad with was also great. Big portions and a fun atmosphere definitely a good place to visit if you're in the area

Horrible!!! Chicken wings had feathers in them, Dino ribs were still cold on the inside and the burger was extremely over cooked. Not to mention for two people eating we paid $125 for two spare ribs, 10 wings, one hamburger and an ice tea.

Are you kidding me?! $30 for 4 slices of beef. $28 for 1/2 of a chicken. Then they bring cans...yes cans of soda to the table. They advertise as a kosher place. Maybe jewish folks can afford $96 for 3 people without alcohol, but I wish I had chosen any other place! Overpriced and underserved. We were all hungry when we left.

$40 BBQ baby back ribs were not worth the $$. You would expect savory tender juicy ribs, I received hard microwave like ribs.. Chicken was rotisserie style with some BBQ sauce thrown on top, not great for $20+.. The topper was that we almost got charged 2x the 18% service charge. Glad we caught it.. We still got robbed of a good meal.

Ate there last night for first time with my wife and friend. Food was fantastic - I got the ribs, the wife fried chicken and friend skirt steak and we all sampled each other's dinner. All tasty, moist and delicious. Place was packed but service was fine. Atmosphere funky with great classic rock background music. Very noisy when packed - which I don't mind but not the place for a quiet romantic anniversary dinner. They did somehow not record my reservation but it was not a problem since started at bar and moved to table when it opened up. Will definitely go back again. They gave us complimentary wine for reservation mess up - nice touch.

Excellent BBQ. I stopped in because I was hungry in mid-afternoon. Nearly all of their smoked meat was ready though the menu said after 5:00. I lived in Kansas City for 10 years and this was good, authentic KC BBQ. The smoke master is from KC area and learned his craft well.

The brisket was delicious. The truffle potatoes had an excellent flavor. Great beer selection. My partner and I really enjoyed sitting outside at the bar. Service was also great -- our waitress was very nice and very knowledgeable. Best BBQ in Miami!

So I took a plane from JFK to Backyard BBQ in Surfside, FL (literally. We landed and headed straight out!) and it was well worth the hype. Mendel Segal is a BBQ pitmaster (winner of several BBQ awards, and I can tell you, having been a past judge of two of the very competitive events he won, he's really the top of the top) and savant who can make meat sing in your mouth. My husband was speechless, it was so good. (He later said it was fantastic.) Pictured: BBQ Sundae, which is what many might consider a fairly odd mixture of cole slaw, baked beans, brisket, and fried onions. Let me tell you, this is a recommended dish for a reason. And it has a nice amount of heat within the dish but the cole slaw offsets it, so my husband who hates anything spicy was actually super impressed. Burnt Ends: seriously good smoked brisket with the fat and well, it was all yum. BBQ burger: brisket topped medium rare burger with fries. It's a burger, but you don't need much ketchup because you get Mendel's amazing brisket with that sauce. Bourbon Pecan Pie: I am wary to order pecan pie because it's either hit or miss. This one was a true hit. Key lime ice cream: this was apparently a special, some vegan ice cream from nearby with little graham cracker crunchies. You couldn't tell it was pareve. Great tartness, but definitely helpful to have the sweetness of the pecan pie alongside. Don't walk, run here. Or if you're in my shoes, take a plane.

1. Soggy fries, if the fries are soggy they’re not worth eating, and sub par burger. My husband’s salad looked like it was from Chilly’s or some comparative chain, flavorless. We’ve had better and cheaper salads in family dining restaurants. The locals looked like they loved it though.... we’ve had better food and BBQ.

I would give this restaurant a half star if I could, the food was average and overpriced but the service was the worst I’ve ever had. We booked for 8pm and were not seated at a table until almost 9 and we had to fight for that! What’s the point of booking! We decided to wait for a table at the bar even though we’d booked and then the extremely rude hostess told staff not to seat us, even though we had booked. Apparently since we were at the bar we could order dinner from there. Bear in mind this was bbq good which is messy and we were seated on uncomfortable bar stools. The staff were so unbelievably rude, in fact they were the rudest staff I’ve ever come across and what made it worse was that they knew we were celebrating a birthday and that we had come all the way from London. The only saving grace was the lovely bartender who despite her colleagues gathering in a corner to gossip pointedly about the fact that we were complaining about not being seated treated us with grace and dignity and tried her best to make the experience worthy of the overpriced food. The worst of it was that there were empty tables at one point and we were still denied seating EVEN THOUGH WE HAD BOOKED. I was so upset by the whole situation that I only tipped the bartender and refused to pay the service charge. To be fair to the restaurant the manager did come over to us to apologise and took off 10% from the bill but I feel compelled to write this because this type of customer service is disgusting and I hope his staff learn some valuable lessons. I will be telling all my friends to avoid this restaurant like the plague.

Host was rude and refused to seat me because I didn’t have reservations, even though there clearly were several tables available. He then threatened to call the police on me when I asked to sit at the bar instead. Went to Kosh across the street instead and had an amazing experience!

Really tasty kosher BBQ. It's understaffed but they do their best and the food is consistently great. It's a nice looking restaurant but usually louder than other restaurants and often children are there. It's not a calm experience but the food makes it worth going.

I don't think words can do this place justice, but I'll try. I've eaten in all the world famous smokehouses in Brooklyn, and Backyard BBQ & Brew blows them out of the water. We started off with poppers and wings. The poppers smelled great and tasted even better. They were perfectly moist, and very aromatic. The wings had just the right amount of crunch to them, and were very meaty. All the sauces were really good, but the tangy BBQ sauce was out of this world (more on that later). We split a BBQ Burger and BBQ Beef Ribs. The burger was cooked to perfection, and the brisket was delicious. The beef ribs had an insane amount of meat on them, and was falling of the bone soft. The cole slaw that came with it was perfectly creamy, and easily the best I've ever had. Despite how good all the food was, the real winner of the night was the BBQ sauce (which I'm told it's available online). The smoky and tangy flavor was mind blowing. I wanted to eat more just so I could taste the sauce again. Out of this world! PS the strawberry lemonade was amazing

We went to BBQ last week, the food was excellent!! Dino rib is out of this world but if you don't call in before to reserve one there is a chance they will be sold out. They also had this excellent smoked pastrami as the special appetizer that day which was the bests Pastrami I have ever had! Brittany was so helpful and made sure we had everything we wanted. Thanks for a great dining experience once again! #neverdisappointed

The dino ribs were absolutely phenomenal. Huge. Juicy. Falling off the bone, and the day was rendered to perfection. The bark was crunchy, and the rub made it worthwhile. We ordered the bbq sundae appetizer, and the beans (just one layer amongst Cole slaw, shredded brisket, crispy onions and more) were so perfectly spiced. I had a chocolate porter beer and it went great, but they have wines and more. The owner makes his own sauces and spice mixes, award winning, take a look around at good awards.

Kristy was a fantastic server, actually went on in Saturday night but had a feeling they wouldn't have any of their famous smoked items, came back Sunday and thank God they still had a few left. The burnt ends (tricky name, since not burnt and absolutely incredible) were soft, flavorful and the sauce was perfect, got a bottle of it to go. Brisket and Dino ribs hit the mark too. all in all, both the chef and the server were extremely helpful and food was as advertised

I was really looking forward to trying this place out. I made reservations days in advance. I got there 5 minutes before my reservation and it was complete chaos. I couldn't get a staff member to even look at me. After standing around aimlessly for 30 minutes we finally gave up and went somewhere else. Being busy is not an excuse. Sorry.

I heard so much about this place. Flew in from NY and super excited for a great experience with my family. The moment we walked in the waitor didnt let me bring my babys stroller in the resturant because it was "too packed". Meanwhile half the resturant was empty. He told me to leave my stroller in my car but I kept explaining to him we drove in with an uber. Eventully he told us to just leave it outside the resturant. That's not the worst part. We were party of 8 but the same waitor refused to combine two tables to accommodate us. At that point we felt really unwelcomed and I decided to leave. They need to make some serious staff changes. Be careful the staff here has anger issues.

The food here is really good. You obviously have to try the burned end which is definitely their best thing although everything else was really good as well. The waiters were courteous and friendly. And the best part of all was their burbon pecan pie with ice cream. You need to go and try this place for yourself. You will definitely enjoy it. We actually went back a second time just for the pecan pie and some awesome cocktails.

Kosher eats have come a long way from what was once very limiting in restaurant and cuisine selections to what is thriving today as the boundaries of Kosher taste buds are stretching to flavors, seasonings and cooking techniques from other cultures. Kosher bbq is fast becoming a growing delicious option and quickly getting noteriety and recognition too. Owner Mendel of this fine BBQ establishment has won accolades at many bbq competitions for his smoke meats and proudly serves them here. Like any great BBQ joint, they serve till they run out and only make a certain amount per day, so don't get there late! Reservations are highly recommended, especially those times when the area is inundated with NYC snow birds ;) My favorites here are the brisket, burnt ends, ribs, chicken wings, the BBQ "sundae", classic beef burger, and the pecan pie!! Do not skip dessert here! Staff has always been friendly, but since it's a beach/vacation community I heard retaining good staff long term is near impossible sadly. Still, looking forward to my next visit very soon!

Totally understand why there was a line out the door. The food was amazing! My wife and I split the bbq sundae to start. They were out of dino ribs (we ordered at around 8:45). I got the rack of ribs and my wife got the burnt ends. Both were amazing! Plentiful portions and sides. I told the waiter what I was looking for in a beer and he chose something fantastic. We got pecan pie for dessert, I thought I couldn't fit any more food, but it was incredible. Wow possibly the best kosher restaurant I have ever been to. Period. Full stop.

Service is lacking in every way. They point to the table they want you to sit in once you come in. Appetizers and drinks came after the meal. Oh, and best part is the mandarory 18% tip added to the check. They also charge without even showing you the receipt. They came to the table, told us how much the bill was, swiped the card, charged, and only after I asked to have the electronic receipt emailed was when I saw the detailed receipt. Brisket was not all that great.
