Love Love Love this place. We had a late dinner here after the season. One of the few places that was open and had a nice crowd. We were able to bring a dogs with us which made it extra nice. I had the nachos -- which were really really good. My husband and the crab cakes sliders. He said they could have been seasoned a little more, however they were all clumped crab meat, no filler, so you definitely got your money's worth The waitress was awesome. She knew the menu and was attentive. Woody's knows how to make a DRINK!!!

Long wait but worth it. Best crab cakes we've ever had. Large, tender, and sweet chunks of crab with only a touch of a white sauce to bind... no breadcrumb filler. And 2 large crab cakes per platter. Great Mac and cheese too. Hubby and I shared this plus a soft shell crab BLT...also very yummy! We'll be back!

Went there today for dinner... initially no one was at the hostess stand... after waiting a few minutes a young girl came to seat us... asked if we wanted a high-top table or low table. We chose the low table (although she didn’t tell us, she told the party in front of us that there were only seats available outside. After being seated, we waited for our waiter/waitress, which we NEVER saw! After about 15-20 minutes of no one coming to our table we said “excuse me” to the hostess as she was passing our table and she completely ignored us. While we were waiting for our waiter/waitress we saw a waitress interact with the table behind us and next to us but never came to our table. We ended up leaving after about 20 minutes of no one coming to our table. As we were leaving hostess bumped into one of the guests of our party trying to push us out of the way so she could seat more tables. Horrible service.

Horrible staff (maddy the server), RUDE MANAGER, awful dining experience, but good crab cakes get it to go! I will start off positive saying the crab cakes at this place are truly amazing, but I would have been able to enjoy my meal if we would have gotten take out. We waited an hour and a half which was no problem, but when we were finally sat we were not assigned a server or given menus for 30 minutes after we sat until we asked for help. The hostess was on her phone but claimed to be so busy she forgot. But the worst is yet to come, two of us got the new york strip steak, one medium well and the other medium rare. The steaks both came out over cooked, so we sent them back to be remade like Woody’s claims should be done if not enjoyed on social media. The manager/ older man working came out with our steaks to tell us we were wrong not once, but TWICE. The second time with a flash light in hand only confirming to us that the steaks were not properly cooked but still he was telling us we were wrong. So we simply said we do not need the steaks anymore to just let us enjoy the meal, they then sent out the bill and boxes for us to leave. Our servers name was Maddy and her attitude was awful from the start and got worse as we had to ask for utensils to eat with and side plates for out appetizers. The manager was plain out RUDE and disrespectful to our table twice. So if you would like to enjoy a good crab cake, I recommend to take it to go instead of dealing with the unfriendly staff.

I came here for an early dinner with my family for my mother-in-law's birthday. Although parking is very difficult to find, it is WELL WORTH IT be patient and find a parking spot to eat at this place because they have some of the best food I've ever had!! Most of us got the crab cake sandwich with tater tots. I am not a big crab person, but I am 100% on board with making more future trips to Woody's for many more crab cake sandwiches. It was very full of crab meat with minimal to no filler! Also, the roll it was served on was very delicious. The tater tots were VERY crispy, and were probably the best tater tots I've had in my life. As an overweight fella who loves food more than anything, you can take this advice to the bank any day. I also loved the orange crushes; they were perfect! I can't wait to go back with my family. I strongly recommend this place to EVERYONE. Also, the service was phenomenal. I wish this place was closer to where I live; although, that may cause me to go bankrupt!!

It was my first time eating out here. My waitress was busy but experienced and attentive. They had steak for 14 so it was a great deal. If it's a continual sale every certain day, I'd say that's an attraction for the restaurant. My wife had crab soup but it wasn't good. And pricy. I wouldn't recommend that but I'd definitely recommend the steak. Unfortunately the place was busy. It seemed like it gets busy very often.

The food was good, not exceptional, but good. We enjoyed our meal on the patio, which was screened, but quite crowded. Our group had the Build-a-Burger (x2), the Crab Sandwhich (x3), the chicken fingers, mussels, the crab pretzel, and the loaded fries. The appetizers came out right after our meals were served, which was disappointing. The loaded fries were very good, and the crab sandwiches received very good reviews! The people in our party who had them were impressed with how much crab meat was in them, with little filler. The rest was fine, but nothing to write home about. We finished eating about 30 minutes before our waitress finally brought the check, and that was only after we called her over and asked for it. We were there for almost 2 hours, which was about an hour too long.

So, the crab cakes are some if the best we've ever had. Our server was great. The kitchen was behind so she brought out some of the Mac and cheese bites. I liked them but my daughter wasn't a fan. So, our server took them off the bill. They one thing that I took the star off was the insane number of flies. They really can't control that. Either way I'd definitely go back!

Disappointing! All the reviews looked great however my husband and I did not enjoy our meal. We shared crab cake sliders appetizer and didnt find anything exciting to them. It seemed like canned crab grilled on the flat top and tossed on slider buns. Nothing special. Strip steak wasnt great and the peel and eat shrimp were tough. Our waitress was great! She didn't miss a beat.

Crab cake sandwich was absolutely delicious as advertised. However Service was lousy !!! I still provided a 22% tip for someone livelihood. Table was sticky not cleaned. We found a Quarter yes 25 cent piece in my sons apple juice Incredibly weird and money is dirtiest thing in world. Never got napkins. I had to get up and get them myself. Waitress never came back until it was check time No one offered to comp a drink, let alone my sons kids meal. If the crab cake wasn’t good I would of rated a zero. Giant disappointment !!!!

I can say that three things suck: 1) parking 2) the 45 minute wait - that we had to pay for obviously 3) another 30 minute wait for the food! No one can change that unless there was a parking garage.

Woody's claims they have the best crabcakes. They are absolutely right, they do. I had them for the first time last weekend. No filler at all. Service was good. Expect a wait for a table on the weekends. There is a bar to get a drink while you wait. I will gladly wait again to have those crabcakes. Yum!

Came to Woody's on one of the craziest days in Dewey- St. Patrick's Day. The wait for a table was over an hour but we were lucky with our timing and got a seat at the bar. We came to Woody's for one and only one reason- the crab cakes. Everyone we know raves about how good they are and compares them to other top-notch crab cake restaurants in Maryland and the Delmarva. My wife and I split the crab cake platter and were very happy with the size, flavor, and composition of the crab cakes. The meat was mostly jumbo lump with huge chunk of crab meat. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, these definitely rivaled the best in the business. And, as mentioned, it was on St. Patrick's day amid mass revelry. The kitchen perfectly executed the dish, despite the large customer volume and general insanity that was the bar and restaurant. After a round of hand gernade shots, thanks to a generous bar patron, we went on our way to the rest of the festivities in town. We're in the area often and will definitely be back again for crab cakes soon.

The crab cake was very good. The rest of the other food was average at best and the service was poor. Our server had an attitude from the beginning and no eye contact. She walked be our table of 6 many time with her eyes to the floor as we tried to get her attention for a few items that were missing. Also, my 60+ year old friend spilled part of her water glass, no big deal. Instead of being helpful, the waitress brought her a child’s cup with a lid. It was rude at best. Then she said to yell out her name if we needed her as if normal service was putting her out. Lastly, don’t park on the side street . You will get a $30 parking ticket even though it appears to be open parking. we had 2 cars and got 2 tickets.

Not sure where to begin. Based on ratings we kind of had higher expectations. Crab cakes were pretty good but the rest of it was hardly middle of the road. Took a very long time for appetizers to arrive, probably over 45 minutes. We had sliders and mac and cheese bites and both tasted like a heated frozen entree. Not seasoned and dry. My biggest disappointment was the French Dip sandwich with Au jus and house chips. Roast beef is a house specialty so I was expecting a flavorful meal. I was able to scrape off the meat and eat it with horseradish sauce but the rest of it was not edible. Au jus was nothing more than a water with coloring, zero flavor. Server was loud and stopped by after the food came but by then I was pretty much done. We will have to dig deeper and hopefully have better luck tomorrow.

My first review of Woody’s was 5 stars. You will never find better crab cakes! However, we took friends there this week and although the food was again excellent, we will not return. A couple next to us allowed their dogs to not only lick the table but eat off plates!!! The waitress saw it and did nothing. I like dogs, but really! We will not be going back. Too bad!

The food was great. So much so I had dinner there two nights in a row on my weekend getaway. I found the crab cake sliders to be filling enough to consider them dinner. The raspberry walnut salad was LARGE and delicious. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is their boisterous patrons. I was just a bit overwhelmed by the volume of the other diners' voices. Obviously this "loud crowd" didn't keep me from returning for the tasty food and good service. Be warned this is not a place for a quite meal.

Bartender Lowe (sp) on Saturday, 8/17/19 had an extremely bad attitude and was very disrespectful to me after I ordered five drinks from him! I’ll spare you the details, but that was the last time I’ll patronize that restaurant!! Unbelievably rude management. Terrible service. Although, the crab cakes are to die for. So if you're still interested after reading this review, I hope you'd consider doing take out. My group and I were more than willing to wait the hour and a half delay for Woody's due to the amazing reviews we've heard from others. Although, our experience was not worth the wait. When we were seated the hostess was to bring us back menus. We waited about 20 minutes until everyone started getting restless so I went and asked for the menus. The hostess was on her phone scrolling when I asked her for the menus, but came back to the table saying she had such a long hard day... scrolling through her phone. We waited another 10-15 minutes for our server to arrive to the table, Maddy, so we assumed she was not told she had a table. Maddy took our drink and appetizer order right away, then proceeded to check in to see if when we were ready to order. We placed our order, and waited to receive our appetizers. When the appetizers arrived we were not given silverware or plates to enjoy our appetizers. We ended up having to throw our hands around waving down Maddy to finally bring us tableware to eat. She was not happy with us at this point. We waited to finally receive our meals that were delivered by from someone other than Maddy, and we felt she was never coming back because of the way she acted towards us for the tableware. Two of us, including myself, ordered the New York Strip Steak: one was ordered medium rare, and one was ordered medium well. When the two of us cut into our steaks we felt guilty to say it was not the way we had wanted it because both steaks were over cooked. The second we cut into them they were tough. The waitress, Maddy, came back asking us if everything came out okay. We replied that our steaks were not cooked and Maddy happily told us that they would make us new steaks. She came by to remove our steaks from our plates. The sides I received, both asparagus and a loaded baked potato, were cold. A MANAGER came out trying to prove that our steaks were cooked the way we wanted them not once but TWICE. The second time the same manager came out with a flashlight on our steaks trying to prove that they were cooked correctly. He had cut directly into the center of the medium rare steak because that is were the pink was. Anyone that orders a medium rare steak is knowledgeable on the fact that the steak should have been pink throughout, not just within the center. We were flabbergasted that he handled it this way, so we asked him to remove our steaks from our bill because the two of us were not hungry anymore. Following the manager, the waitress, Maddy, quickly brought our table the check to remove us as quickly as possible. We paid and left. On our walk out, the manager was sitting on his phone at the exit making it extremely uncomfortable.

A friend of mine turned me on to this place. He asked me if I like crab cake. When I told him I did he said you need to go to Woody's. He was not joking. I've been here twice now and they have exceptional crab cake. They do not take reservations so you may want to have a backup plan. I will say it is worth the wait.

Fantastic crab cakes & soft shell crabs. We’ve eaten here numerous times and we’ve always had great food though, the crab cakes and soft shells are so good, we’ve never tried anything else. Even better than the great food is the service. Everyone seems to enjoy working here and it really shows in the pleasant attitude toward their clients. I strongly recommend Woody’s if you’re ever traveling in the area of Dewey Beach.

We got lucky & got a parking place right in front of the restaurant. Good service at the bar. Excellent crab cakes. We live in Florida, but we're going back in October to have the crab cakes again. They were that good. This is a busy small place so be flexible with your time schedule.

Really wanted to try the crab cakes, but didn't get the chance. After receiving 2 cold appetizers, served in super hot dishes, our sandwich and salad never came. We asked for the check 45 mins after we got our apps. After another 10 min wait, we were told the ol' classic, "The kitchen lost your ticket". The apps could have been decent if they were served hot/fresh. Not worth the hype, won't be back.

This is a popular place. We had a 20 min wait, there is a beach t shirt place that you can browse while you wait. Once seated, our server was on top of our dinner. She recommended items from the menu. I tried the shrimp tacos, they were very good. Nicely balanced with plenty of shrimp and slaw stuffing. The spice was just right, not to hot or spicy.

My friends and I were on vacation and tried to get dinner here as it was labeled a dog-friendly restaurant and our friends have a lab. As a larger group, we expected a wait time and were told it would be 35 minutes after telling them our group size and asking for outdoor seating with a dog. We waited and came back, and the hostess was surprised that we had a dog despite the fact that we had made this clear previously. She then said it would be another 35 minutes, and explained that she had told us 45 minutes anyway, which wouldn't make it that much of a difference. We collectively told her that she had told us 35 minutes and asked her what changed. She began to backpedal and as we turned to leave, she made snide comments under her breath right in front of us. Another group with a dog walked up and was seated immediately as we were walking away. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, given the way we were treated, regardless of their "dog-friendly" status. We certainly won't be giving them a second chance, but I've heard there are other options in Rehoboth beach anyway.

Great menu, food, drinks and vibes! The patio is dog friendly, they will even bring your pup a water bowl. I definitely plan to visit again.
