Had a lunch there yesterday, 7/28/19. We were seated quickly, waiter (Nate) came over quickly for drink order. Food was ordered and out within normal limits. My daughter ordered a crab stuffed burger cooked medium and the burger came out real rare, asked if it could be put back on the grill for a minute. Nate said no problem. Few minutes later he stated that they were redoing the whole thing, which is what should have been done since she did take a bite out of it. Second time it arrived it was cooked to perfection. Nothing more needed on my end as it happens. When we got the bill we had a gift card that them manager wanted us to have for the inconvenience. I thought that was really nice customer service and it didnt really need to be done as we were satisfied prior to that. My daughter lives in the area who will be going back since she really did enjoy the food. Thanks guys!!

Our experience here was great! Our bartender was the bomb and super attentive! Our drinks never went empty without the offer to refill. The menu is different and there are a lot of great options. Our food came out hot and just what we expected and more! Definitely give this restaurant a try it was so worth it!

We had a group of 9 and with a larger group you need to expect some delay in receiving your order. The wait was reasonable and no one needed to send anything back. An accomplishment in it self. I got the "Lenten" sandwich from the special menu. Chicken and ham lunch meat on a pretzel roll with a spicey honey mustard and a little horseradish kick, really a great combination of flavors. Fries were good but could have been hotter but with a larger group the effort was good. Enjoyed the evening!

If you visit Middletown...you simply MUST have Tom Foolery's on your to do list. The service and food ....love love love. Try the honey bay wings and the girl scout cheesecake...just for starters. Crabcake was just ok....everything else we tried on our visit was phenomenal. They open at 11 and are there to serve! Great job

Took my hubby here for his birthday. Server was very standoffish and it made us uncomfortable. I ordered a salad with ahi tuna and side of sweet potato fries. Tuna was so fishy tasting, I stopped eating for fear of getting sick. Server forgot my fries and told me "I'll have the kitchen grab them out of the freezer and fry them real quick". FREEZER. Server clearly shouldn't have mentioned that. Husband's burger was severely overcooked and bun was soggy. Will not be returning here ever again. Sorry to my hubby for such a crappy birthday dinner :(

What a great restaurants in a very non assuming location! Stopped in for the Monday specials-$6 burgers (can sub chicken) and we were not disappointed. Perfectly cooked and assembled, we all enjoyed the 4 different specials smartly served by the gregarious Amanda, and our custom orders were spot-on. The fresh cut fries are delicious, and the breaded jalapeno should be on the appetizer menu-it was a perfect compliment to my pepper jack burger. This my new go-to when I am in town. Another example of why locals are the best source of food suggestions.

Wow! I’m so glad to see the reviews show an accurate depiction of how good everything is at Tomfoolery’s now. When we moved a few years ago, the reviews weren’t great and we couldn’t understand bc every experience we ever had back then and now have been amazing! The wait staff are attentive and the food is downright awesome. They have so much on the menu and so many options for drinks. It has a very family vibe, but quite upscale, too. It can get crowded, but never feels overwhelming. Great place!

They have really stepped it up since the renovation! Middletown doesn’t have much in the way of nightlife but Tom Foolery’s definitely sets the bar for going out in Mtown. The music is good, the food is great (a little pricey depending on what you get) and the drinks are made really well. I always have a blast!

Extremely racist establishment, gave this place multiple tries. Bartenders are nothing but rude, rolled eyes and spoke very unprofessional to multiple customers. Requested drinks and food multiple times was completely ignored. Venue has great potential but the service ruins the entire experience so disappointing. Bartenders were extremely arrogant and belittled customers of color. Authorities were almost called. So disappointing.

I have previously given this place 5 stars. Because of that visit we invited another couple to meet us for lunch. When we were seated, we were informed that they were closing for renovations the next day and they were out of some things. Apparently they were without a proper chef as well. The wings, though previously delicious, were undercooked, soggy and greasy. The crab cake, though previously amazing, was deep fried, overcooked and smelled of overused fryer oil. Two other people in my party were fairly satisfied with their entrees, though they are apparently not as picky. The fourth person did not finish his and was not happy with his sandwich. I hope the poor food issues will be resolved with the renovations.

No worries but after 45 min of watching other parties of 2 that walked in after us being seated we asked where we were on the list. We got the puzzled look from the hostess so we walked out. Starting with the good - the food was great. I got the steak and ribs combo and both were delicious. Wings were giant and crispy without being over-done. Bacon-wrapped scallops were delicious as well. There just doesn't seem to be a ton of seating, which creates longer waits if there are large parties or if you have a child with you that can't sit at a high-top. Major props for giving children in waiting parties Goldfish snacks, though. There are other restaurants in the area that serve similar food, I know, but I prefer the food here over the pricier Metro Pub or other generic bar & grill chains.

Chef Mike needs to give hospitality lessons to some of these other places. Doesn't matter what time of the day, or day of the week, you will always see him out there checking on customer satisfaction. Hardest working staff in Middletown. Always great food, great service, creative specials that change frequently, good drinks, and good classic music going all day long. Bacon wrapped scallops are bangin....brisket quesadilla is simple fresh ingredients, but always awesome. Beer is cold, atmosphere is lively but friendly. What could be better. Chef Mike, with all of the growth in Middletown, you will be the big dog on the block. We are moving about an hour away, but will come back for the Foolery. (Chef Mike, please bring back the Lum's Pond Sandwich, even if it is a temporary special.)

I was really disappointed with our meal especially after seeing all the great reviews, mind you it was the day before Thanksgiving but still that shouldn’t effect the quality of the food. We ordered the crab dip and crab bisque which neither contained barely any crab (honestly I dredged the soup with a fork to find maybe 4 pieces). I also ordered the salmon it was overcooked and under seasoned, it didn’t help that my mojito was lack luster. The only shining lights in our meal was our onion rings and the pumpkin cheesecake.

Tom Foolery is a great restaurant that offers great American style food (burgers, sandwiches, steak) at decent prices and fantastic flavor. The Brisket Sandwich is easily my favorite dish, offering a juicy bit of brisket, lovingly laced with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce followed on top with onion rings and a side of fries. Wait staff has been great every time we've been here. If I had a complaint, it would be the location. It isn't easy to see from the road, isn't in a scenic area (offers outdoor seating in warner months), and getting out of the small shopping area it is in, given it exits to 896, can be a challenge on busier traffic times and days. Thing is, the food is more than worth the frustration of how to get out of the parking lot. Highly recommended
