It is a mandatory for every tourist and a mainstay for the residents. Once must have Thrashers with salt and vinegar every summer and usually more than once. Absolutely delicious! Please give it a try; you'll thank me. Promise

Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I've had a lifelong relationship with boardwalk fries and these are a great example. For the uninitiated, boardwalk fries are fresh cut, thick (like 1/2" square) and served as soon as possible after frying. The trick is a good balance between crunch and soft, but full of flavor. Putting ketchup, or anything else besides vinegar and salt, on boardwalk fries will get you quickly labeled as a tourist not aware of correct boardwalk fry etiquette. Ketchup drowns the flavor of good boardwalk fries, and Thrashers is serious here as they dont even serve ketchup.

The fries were good but I didn’t understand what all the hype was. Just seemed like normal fries to me. Unique thing I liked is you could dip your fries in vinegar. So good thing to get if in the area.

What does the quality of the French Fries matter when you don't serve ketchup as a "philosophy"?! You've created an artificial ketchup scarcity at resort towns like Rehoboth Beach, DE, by not serving America's most popular condiment. Other establishments on the boardwalk have signs "Ketchup is for *our* food only!" One entrepreneur was selling whole bottles of ketchup for $7! For shame, Thrashers. No conceptual food snobbishbess is worth the kind of literal uproar your attitude has caused. One vendor told me a customer almost punched her because he was so incensed that he couldn't get ketchup. I'm boycotting your establishment and encourage others to do the same. No matter your reasoning, no matter how haute cuisine you think your "pommes frites" are, your food pretentiousness isn't a welcome addition to the menu. And at $10 a bucket for what amounts to $1 of potatoes and peanut oil, you could spare a few squirts of the red stuff.

As a person who has no emotional attachment to Thrashers . Non-biased opinion - they are fine . Good fries but nothing to rave about . Similar to 5 guys and steak and potato company For those who grew up coming to the boardwalk I get it and respect your opinion . Thrashers symbolizes good times. Fries are good , hot and tasty: service is crazy fast but I guess to be expected as all the serve is fries For those not familiar with the place they Do NOT have ketchup .

This is "the beach" for us! We stopped on April 9th, 2019 in the late afternoon. and the nicest young man served us. Can't say enough about these fries. Love them and really enjoyed the service.

BEWARE OF UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES!!! ordered the $10 bucket of French fries and I paid with a debit card and when I asked for my receipt the employee got nervous he claimed he couldn't get the receipt to print, so I said that's ok! Now I k ow why why he was nervous he tipped himself or charged me an extra 6.50 for something I did not order ! I just saw my bank account and I can't wait for them to call me back! I LOVE THEIR FRIES BUT THIS WAS LOW ! ASK FOR YOUR RECEIPT EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO WAIT !!

I've been eating these fries for over 40 years ever since I was a little kid. Huge portion sizes of fresh fries made right in front of you. They're great with ketchup or salt and vinegar. I would have given this location 5 stars but there were entirely too many soggy fries in my order. Other than that, you should love this place, and most locations are consistent in my experience.

This is your average Thrashers. I love the fries because I grew up with them. The only condiments available are salt and malt vinegar. I prefer the fries plain though. They are expensive but worth a visit at some point during vacation. This location has no room for a line to form on the busy sidewalk.

Greatest French fry ever. Best boardwalk fries, you will see others advertised but Thrasher's is the best. Add the vinegar and salt. But watch out for seagulls because they absolutely do swoop down to take them from your bucket or your hands.

I've been all across America eating fries and I must say I am disappointed. the kid behind the counter took cold pre-cooked fries and dipped them in hot oil. then served them to me. they were greasy and partially hot. I've eaten here twice before. But I doubt I will EVER be back. Beware.

Update: like another person stated ask for a receipt, they will over charge you. I ordered a small which is 5 dollars and looked at my bank statement and they charged me 10 dollars. Not much I can do now that I'm states away. How horrible.. Good fries. Tried it the local way with salt and vinegar. It was ok, still like ketchup better. But I love how fast you get your fries and the serving size are big. Yummy
