I was a little skeptical paying nearly $50 for AYCE crabs. But I was very pleased with them. Hi, fresh, and mostly heavy. The server, Rachel, was excellent and we had a fantastic time. By far the best crabs we have ever had at the Delaware shore. We'll definitely go again. Highly recommended!

Blue crabs served on tables with butcher paper, the right way. Crab cakes were full if lump meat with just enough filler to bind the crab. Fresh vegetables. Corn on the cob is local, not frozen.

Greatest little hidden gem for locals...seriously cannot say enough good things, it's far enough from the beach to avoid the crazy traffic, the food was out of this world, and there was no wait at all, even being mothers day weekend! Always great meals, great crabs and seafood from this place!!! Come here if you're hungry! Just bring a jacket if cold (sometimes it's cold in the outside) it's a great, clean place. The crabs are great for the price and have good taste and nice size too them. I enjoy this place and reccomend it for crab eaters and seafood eaters.

By far the best crabs in town. I would certainly recommend a few things: The jumbo crabs are truly jumbo and worth the price of admission, fish and chips taste like they have been fished that day, and the crab dib. I am from MD and have been to every crab place in MD, fat boys, Mike's etc. This place blows all them out the water!!!! Get there early because the place closes around 10pm

Wife had crab and mac and cheese ( she said it was very good) I had oyster dinner ff and veg. very good. The oysters were the smallish that I had ever seen(got 10)about the size of an eraser on a pencil. They did bring 6 more that were normal size. Wouldn't get their oysters again.

I have NEVER given a review in my life, but If I could give a negative star review I would. Would not serve me because I had an out of state license, despite the fact that I am well above the legal drinking age. Staff was extremely rude and establishment was dirty. There are much better seafood restaurants nearby that are not as obnoxious and dirty.

My wife and I stopped on the way home from Lewes beach. Hot inside the restaurant, but it was 97* today. Waited for table 20 min, and when seated waited another 20 for server . . . But - there were like 40 motorcycle guys and there family there eating crabs. Once we ordered, food came quickly. Very good steamed clams and crab cake. Salad was excellent . . . And the whole staff very friendly. Price was reasonable. I wanted to only give four starts due to the wait but I understand and see how busy they were. Good job guy

Don't even know where to start. We had the all you can eat crabs. Holy moly. Some of the sweetest, most delicious hardshells I've had in years. Perfectly seasoned. The sides were great as well. Surprisingly loved the Cole slaw. Service was great as well!

My family brought me here for father's day and I left feeling disappointed. Crabs were okay but defenitly not the best I've had. I'm giving 3 star only because of a server that wasn't even mine.(otherwise it would be lower) My family ordered and we were told that the kitchen to busy to just do steam beans w/o butter. My daughter's food came out with a hair in it and I didn't get a beer until I stopped a different server. 1 beer was taken off our bill.

We were seated immediately, very casual dinning which was great since we had just come from the beach. They had single seating at the bar. We sat at a table and the waitress was very friendly and promptly got our drinks. We ordered Crab cakes and they were delicious. Now the price for Crabs & or crab cakes I THINK is crazy BUT this place is on the lower end of crazy and I know this because we did lots of research online to see who had the lowest prices. I could see most people were there for the AYCE Crabs so those must be good also. I would definitely come back.

Service here is top notch, one of the best experiences since moving to Philly a few years ago. We went for the AYCE crab. My husband ate tray after tray after tray (30+ crabs) and these guys were on it. Just as he was done with one, they had the next one ready for him. Considering we came 15 minutes prior to closing and stayed at least a half hour after, I would say these guys know how to treat their customers, not just our server but the whole team was great. 10/5 for service. Food was good, not the best ever, but service was what really knocked it out of the park and is what I would come back for every time if I were in the area and wanted some crab.

Perfect place for people who LOVE their crabs. Prices for All You Can Eat Crabs is GREAT. The crabs are big and fat (heavy). My husband ate 14 crabs and was stuffed. He's a crab eater and picker so he was in seventh heaven there. They not only have all you can eat crabs, they have single crabs, oysters, fish, hush puppies, frys, cole slaw and many more things I'm sure. They have a liquor license and have beer. If you're offended by that, don't go. I don't drink but it doesn't bother me if others do. Staff is absolutely wonderful and will make your dinner experience there phenomenal. Acoustics get to be a bit loud as the place fills up, and believe me, the place will fill up. The Surfing Crab opens most days at 3pm, but I would Google the phone number and call before going. Also, if you plan on ordering the All You Can Eat Crabs, they'd like you to call and make reservations before just coming in. They say they want to make sure they have enough crabs for everyone. With the amount of people who come in to eat crabs everyday I'm sure at some time they have run out. So, please be thoughtful and call ahead if you plan on going the All You Can Eat Crab mode.

Pleasantly surprised...food was well seasoned. Came out fast. Fried to perfection. Tasted great. Service was good and friendly. No happy hour specials. Kids meals are high and don't come with a drink. They also charge for cheese on a kids meal. It is overpriced but everything except a food chain is overpriced. Seasonal veggies are an upcharge.

Cute little place. We ate on the porch on a hot day but it was nice and cool. It had a backyard type feel to it without the uncomfortable heat. The snow crab leg platter was worth the 38$. They give you two lbs of legs instead of the usual 1 1/2 lbs. The crab soup was very good and had a decent amount of crab meat in it. Great service and all around good dinner!

Just left this place with my family after a great day at the beach. Usually a nice dinner afterwards makes the day perfect. Not in this case. We were seated and the server took our order. I ordered the shrimp tacos, my husband ordered the oyster entree, and my boys were splitting a crab cake sandwich. Before our meal arrived some random guy came along and smashed down our silverware as hard as he could ? I have no idea what that was about but he got in my husband’s face and said “SORRY!”. Our meal was delivered and my husband asked where his sides were. The server said he rang the oysters up as an appetizer. Ok?! Why wasn’t he asked if he wanted the dinner or appetizer? He asked him if he wanted sides and he said no. The crab cake as pictured was very very sad. It was on a hamburger bun that looked like it came from the dollar store. There was no lettuce or tomato. The crab cake was small and fell apart in my sons lap. My dinner (shrimp tacos) was actually good but I cant really forgive everything else. It was a very expensive meal and it really should have been better. We will not be returning.

This is just the best crab shack you can go to. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was just perfect. A mixture of old bay seasoning, crabs, and beer aroma fill the air, delighting your senses as you wait for your table. Be sure to call ahead with you crab order to ensure the size of crabs are available.

Our first time at surfing crab. It was the most terrible time I've had. Our check was over 100 dollars for 2 people. NEITHER restroom worked. The womens or the men's. At the same time. The womens was being worked on and the mens didn't flush. The wait was over an hour for food with no restrooms. I will NEVER go back. The waiter didn't separate our check for us and we had to decide who's food was who's. Absolutely unacceptable for a place that charges that much money.

The food was awesome! We stopped here on the way out of town for a quick bite. I had the fish of the day entree (blackened Mahi Mahi) which came with 2 sides (I chose corn on the cob and hush puppies) and my boyfriend ordered the jumbo lump crab cake. We both enjoyed our meals. The restaurant had a "where the locals eat" feel and the staff were friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Seafood was good. I dont like being timed when I eat so the all you can eat crabs was something I passed on. I'd travel to MD just to not have to be timed. My husband did enjoy it and ate tons I had a king crabs and ate slow. Seafood was fresh but it's not any different then a million other places up and down the coast.

The crabs were good, they were on top of noticing when we needed more and they were quick bringing them out. Very loud atmosphere, but what do you expect for a crab house, right? Its just not my preference. The beer wasn't cold enough and they ran out of a very common beer. The fried shrimp was mediocre, but they are known for crabs, not fried food. One of the servers was very rude.

We went for a day trip on the Cape May Lewes Ferry. We went from Cape May to Lewis Delaware and we were looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this restaurant. The surfing Crab Restaurant is an excellent place to go. Our server Brad greeted us at the door and sat us immediately. He provided excellent service and we also could see an excellent team work among the employees. We got the all you can eat crabs. And Waooohh!!These were the best , heaviest, and largest crabs we ever tried before. Excellent size, quality and quantity. Brand always made sure we had everything we needed. I would give this place a 10 stars out of 5.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS ALL YOU CAN EAT CRABS. The place was packed when we arrived and we were told a 45 minute wait but we were seated within 30 minutes. The crabs were all full, fresh, and steaming hot. I was the only one having all you can eat so they brought me 3 or 4 crabs at the time. Before I could finish the last 1 on the tray, the next tray was there. Most of the crabs were over 6" and not a bad1 in the bunch. The 2 hour time limit was very reasonable. I couldn't have eaten another crab after the 2 hours. The owner chatted with us before we left. What a hoot!!! Thank you to my wonderful husband for sitting and watching me pick crabs for an hour and a 1/2 after he finished his wonderful steamed shrimp! This is a must during every Rehobeth Beach trip!!! I would give more stars if I could!!

Best eating experience I had in Delaware though be ready to spend some money. Dozen crabs will set you back about $100 or you can do all that you can eat for $50. Wife and I got the dozen and were good with the kids helping. Kids menu items are way overpriced, makes more sense to just get them a side and have them pick at your crab.

Hands down, THE best crabcakes we've ever had. They're all crab, and the chef sears them to a brown, buttery, pleasingly crunchy perfection. Don't even think about eating these in the car, they fall apart and you get to eat those big, sweet lumps of crab that fall onto your plate. Megan helped us at the counter and she was everything you'd ever want in excellent customer service: she acknowledged us right away, was very friendly w/out being intrusive, and overall gave us a feeling of welcome. Everyone that we encountered there has the same philosophy as Meghan. They seem to take real pride in what they're serving and treat each other like family. Can't recommend this place enough.

Unpretentious down and dirty crab and seafood house in Lewes - just our style! It's nothing to look at but the food, overall, is good. You can't reserve a table, but you can reserve crabs ahead of time. They are very pricey though - $49 for all you can eat that comes with hush puppies, fries and coleslaw. Much more for crabs by the dozen. The crabcakes are great. Coleslaw is good, hush puppies ok, corn surprisingly bad. Good wine and beer selection for a crab house. Had a nice glass of pinot grigio. Service was fine. Family-friendly. There's a 2 hour time limit on the all you can eat and no sharing. Ample parking.

Crabs are always awesome! Service is great. No fancy drinks, but all you need is beer! No outside seating.

Good crabs. Over priced, which is to be expected in this area, but is surprising considering it isn't near anything else. The "all you can eat" crabs were a good size and full (only 1 mushy crab out of the 23 we ate). Expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour and also for lack luster service.

Overpriced , and they ran out of everything (including crabs). The food we did get was garbage. My nieces didn’t even like the cheese burgers we had to stop them by a fast food place after we left. Definitely will not return.

Best crab cakes I have ever had. All crab and nice big pieces if crab. No filler. Not fancy and a little warm but well worth it.
