Great experience! I had brunch....it was busy but Lindsey was super attentive, friendly and quick. While covering quite a few tables she still made us feel like we were the only table she was servicing! The food was fantastic, tasty and fresh. Well worth the 2hr ride to try it!
Service was exceptionally good and the liver and onions are to die for! The red snapper was perfect. The crab cakes have a little too much filler for me, but I usually make my own and dont use any filler. I'd go back again.
This was a little place we happened upon on our way home from the beach. We stopped for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was outstanding. She was so friendly and attentive. Always right there to fill the coffee and that place was hopping. My only complaint was the bathroom situation. For a busy place, they only have 1 single bathroom for men and 1 for women, so there was a line. Must be a local favorite since it is a little out of the way, but so busy. I would definitely go back again.
First time to visit. Restaurant quaint and inviting. Seated quickly and beverage orders taken and served. Food was excellent, service friendly. Great experience. Looking forward to our next visit!
We only recently found this place and have been going for the last 3 Fridays. Everything has been going good except today. My husband got the sausage gravy and it was not very good at all. In addition to that the homefries are not consistent at all.
Simply because the water view. Rude staff.
Delicious food, nice servers, reasonable prices
Trash breakfast. Ham steak was a salt patty. Eggs over cooked. Wasnt sure Home fries were even potatoes. 1 star only because the chocolate milk was good.
Love the atmosphere and the setting. We absolutely love this place for breakfast on the weekends!!
We have enjoyed the Country Eatery for years. This time was no exception with one caviat. My wife has food allergies and we were able to convey that successfully to our waitress. She and I both like our food Hot (temperature ) and have found at most places you really need to emphasize this to get what we want. After all we are paying for and consuming the meals. Each time we expressed how much we like our food to be hot and not left sitting under a lamp our waitress QUICKLY responded with " it'll be hot". This type of response does not instill much confidence in getting what we asked for. When we expressed it again to emphasize our request as she was turning to walk away our waitress made a sound of discontent..."humph". Most of the food came out eatible but the large portion homefries was barely warm. After speaking with the hostess she offered to comp my wife's breakfast which was very generous and thoughtful. This in no way would keep us away from this establishment as for the most part a nice place to have a meal, we like breakfast there.
Clean and good breakfast.
We had a very small table but delicious food. Turkey, salmon, ham,or prime rib was the choices or anything off the regular menu. We had prime rib! Melt in your mouth cooked perfectly! Everything was good!
Great service and excellent quality food at a fair price. Comfortable atmosphere.
Great service and atmosphere. I got to enjoy a Sunday early breakfast overlooking the lake. The omelet was cooked perfectly and the fried potatoes were awesome!
Very long wait today but it was Father's Day so it was packed out with people. Absolutely worth the wait! Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Food was great and the coffee was perfect as well. I will definitely be back. The place is a true old fashioned Country eatery with large windows that let in the light. Don't miss the opportunity to check this place out!
The coffee was so good. The people were nice and friendly the food was tasty I had breakfast my husband had dinner. Breakfast specials are a good price.
We love countrie eatery..
We did an online search for breakfast and came across this restaurant. All the reviews looked good so we decided to go. Walking in it was busy, I approached counter/register and the lady just stared at me, I didn't get a smile nor a hello. So I told her I'd like to get on the waitlist and again I just received a stare.. I gave her my name and she didn't write anything down she finally opened her mouth and asked "how many" once I told her the number in my party she wrote it down along with my name. She didn't even give me an estimated time as she did with the prior lady before me or the people after me. It was really awkward and I didn't know how to take the initial interaction as I've never been to a restaurant where I haven't been greeted, even a small welcoming smile would have sufficed. Regardless we stayed and waited. We arrived to a table that hadn't been set and when I asked for a high chair for my toddler I was told they didn't have any available. We just sat him in our laps until one became available. Our waiter came and she was just the sweetest lady ever. I really wish I remembered her name but she was so nice and made us feel very welcome. When we received our food it was exactly how we ordered it and very good. We were pleasantly surprised as we hadn't found a restaurant that resembled one from home for us. As a military family any place that gives us a taste of what we knew as home prior is nice. Over all I recommend the restaurant the food was delicious and our server was amazing. When it came to pay I went back to the register and the same women once again just didn't seem very friendly. I gave her my card and I asked to break a 20 which she did but just her demeaner was off. I'm not sure if we caught her on a bad day or if it was something else as she seemed to be friendlier to other customers.
Really good bisect in sausage gravey.
Great food and service as always
Great food and atmosphere. Staff was very courteous, and prices are average for a restaurant.
It was amazing! Food was awesome and so was the service! New stop on the way to the beach for sure.
I love this place . Friendly wait staff, good prices and portions. One of the best diners I've ever been to.
Was good food great service n views ... Ill go back
Great place for every meal, real home town feel, nice staff, clean, and not expensive. One of my regulars.
Great food great prices.
Food great, waitress was very nice handled our party of 5 great.
My family always visits this place when we come to Dover because the food and service are fantastic, plus the portions are generous and the prices are more than reasonable. The view of the lake is divine as well!
Good servers. Good food.
Good food and service. A bit cramped, but does give a nice intimate feel.
The food was amazing the service was amazing everything about this place is so homey and calming and perfect. The tight squeeze between tables doesn't bother you once you sit down and take in the atmosphere of this place. The warm comforting smiles of the employees and the delicious food make you feel so welcome you wont wanna leave I recommend for families or even a date with your significant other. It's the perfect place for it all. I will be coming back and recommending people
Waitress Mary was awesome, but felt the food was a little pricey for breakfast, serves was slow not sure if they were short handed or not, but if you go, ask for Mary she was awesome
A bunch of Fire Flies came in for a breakfast ritual & were pleasantly surprised by the 1. Breathtaking view! 2. Extensive menu options 3. CARROT. CAKE. HOUSE. MUFFINS.
The meal and service were both very good.
Great place to have breakfast and Lunch. The restaurant as a beautiful view of the river an the servers are very wonderful an patient. The food prices are very inexpensive.
Delicious food, friendly staff and great views
Good local restaurant. Slight wait to get seated but service is friendly and quick. Food is good and decent sized portions. Recommend.
Great food. I had a french toast, eggs, sausage, and bacon.
Great food! Never leave hungry! Always great service, friendly staff, awesome view of the lake. Breakfast all day
The food was satisfactory and the portions good. The older decorations and envirinment clashed with the diner like menu. I wont discourage people frpm eating there, just dont do so with any preconceived notions
THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND THE WAITRESS WAS FRIENDLY BUT THE HOSTESS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT BETTER
I have nothing nice to say about this place except the parking. The food was yuk, the interior cold and void of any pleasant visuals. One of the shades was so dirty I almost left then, and regretted it later. Upon paying the bill, which had to be paid by the door, the owner Eric asked how it was. We both said bad and she just frowned. I guess she doesn't eat their. We never will again.
Always a pleasure and Sunday breakfast was accompanied by Springtime fishing on Silver Lake
If you are in Dover, this is the place to start your mornings, take a break for lunch, or settle back and enjoy a peaceful evening dinner. On our five day trip to visit family, we enjoyed two meals here. Breakfast and lunch helped to make our trip to Dover a most memorable trip. The breakfast for me consisted of scrambled eggs, french toast, and bacon. Simple items but they were darn near perfect! Both visits we were blessed to have excellent service! This place is not to be missed if you are in Dover! Enjoy the wildlife on the mini deck overlooking Silver Lake too! The kids will love it...
I go to this place after Sunday church with my family. Never had a bad meal and the service is good. I really like the western omelet and the sausage gravy. My family members like the constitutional and the kenton.
Great breakfast menu. Food outstanding.
If you're looking for an amazing breakfast at a reasonable price, look no further. The food is fresh, hot, and service is relatively quick. A word of warning that it gets busy and space is pretty tight. But once you get seated you will be very satisfied.
It was great, old fashioned food. Try the sweet potato pancakes..
Busy place, but great service and food. If you're from out of town and your game try some Scrapple. I'll stick to bacon, thanks.
Meh! So-so food, and OK service.
Can’t beat this home style cooking and traditional breakfast. We have been eating here for 30 years. Food is delicious... my favorite is the Country Eatery omelette with homemade grits and scrapple. The wait staff is always kind & views of the lake are beautiful.
Great food with reasonable prices.
Place has EXCELLENT FOOD,HOMEY FEELING,TANYA IS SOOOO FRIENDLY REALLY TOOK CARE OF US. WE R TRUCK DRIVERS , THIS PLACE IS ONE OF THE BEST WE HAVE BEEN TO. WILL DEFENTLY WILL RETURN IF IN THE AREA. Have to bob tail here and park across the street no truck parking but worth it.
The food was excellent. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Only thing is make sure you have a reservation on Sunday morning or you could wait a while.
Haddock modest in size and little dry. Coffee excellent, prime rib and turkey dinner excellent. Prime rib was large couldn't eat it all. Wonderful free deserts come with specials. Waitresses were very friendly & helpful. Very ADA friendly, no stairs.
Great friendly service, good food
The food is good and price was very affordable..
Okay, I'll catch some heat on this one. This is a local dive that has a great view of Silver Lake from some tables and is as kitschy as you could ever want a place to be. The is supposed to be Ma & Pa cooking. Service was okay (long stretches between seeing our waitress. Got our apps in 9 minutes, got our food in 42 minutes. I owned and operated restaurants for about 35 years and that is unacceptable (no they weren't slammed or all that busy). The French fries were great. The crab cakes were THE very worst I have ever attempted to eat - anywhere. My family (5 of us) just shook their collective heads and wondered why I even ordered them. The very nice waitress just said "Pretty bad?" when she checked on our meals when she looked at my plate. She did offer to replace them with something else and I just told her that we didn't have another 42 minutes to wait. She did not get the manager and she did not offer to take them off the check. I do like their breakfasts there. Been going there longer than I can remember.
Good food very nice waitresses
Very blend food. Nothing special here. The olny thing is that it has a beautiful view to a lake.
Home fries needs more TLC. Love our waitress.
Good food always
Nice breakfast spot
Great place,good food &friendly servers
The food is delicious, fresh homemade cozy atmosphere very warm & friendly staff highly recommend
Quaint friendly with great food and service
Great atmosphere, courteous employees & nice variety of food = something to please everyone!
Great atmosphere. Incredible food. Our server was very attentive made great menu suggestions and anticipated our needs. Very comfortable, relaxed restaurant with cute signs like this one
My boyfriend and I ate here on a Sunday morning. Next to a lake which offers a nice view. Very kind staff, everything was delicious and reasonably priced! Our attentive waitress made sure my coffee and his water were always full. We got the Rising Sun (try the scrapple!) and chocolate chip pancakes. I would highly recommend.
I ordered the veggie omelet and home fries. Pretty tasty, and the service was decent.
Food was excellent, and they were very open to making accommodations for my girlfriends garlic allergy. The food was made to order and fresh making it very easy to address needed changes.
Super atmosphere nice building decor and music. Most of the food was good. I recommend the corn fritters and french onion
Dirty & expensive! Definitely not worth the long wait neither.
First time to eat there. Food and service were really great. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we did. Real great view of the lake behind the restaurant. We will be back and the prices were very reasonable
Service was friendly and quick. Food was all homemade and delicious! (Rare for a diner these days!) Beautiful view of a little lake. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Dover.
Waitress must have been fairly new. Not very organized. Food great
Excellent service and food. The portions a very generous.
One of the best breakfast places in Dover, Delaware. So far my family and I've been very happy with the food and service. I love their Eggs Benedict, grits and creamed chopped beef. Everything is fresh and tasty and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant is in an old home and scenicly overlooking the St. John's River. Parking is plentiful.
The food tasted great but they couldn't handle a large party.
Good place for a solid breakfast. Nothing fancy but tasty non the less. The Eggs Benedict was good. The Corned beef hash was decent, definitely canned but did the job.
1st time there definitely will go back.i had a very good breakfast.
Always a wonderful place to have a meal. Great staff and good home cooking.
Nice place for family and elderly. Good food and fast service
Great food! Open faced Turkey sandwich is the best.
This is my favorite breakfast spot! Great prices, great food, great staff! It's a very home like place!
Our server was do friendly and efficient, moreso than any other serving experience I have had at Country Eaterie
Delicious food, great service, loved the ambiance
TOO CROWDED! Virtually no area to wait, parking lot is full. I’m sure the food is good but how can you tell on a busy Sunday morning when you can’t even get in. This place has a reputation for being very homey and having a nice brunch but it’s way too busy. At the end of the day brunch is brunch, and there are several other places to go right downtown is well- that have outdoor seating. The interior looks a little dated and could probably use a facelift.
It's a nice quiet place to eat. I think the food was very good.
Love the all day breakfast. Affordable and good.
I love this place
The service is great .the food is excellent. The morning hostess/cashier is not very friendly. She seems to not like her job.
Dining on the water. Very country style restaurant. Make sure you try some corn fritters!
Decent place. Made an order that was abnormal and they met it with no worries. I will go back. Food is decent and prices are too.
Great service and food.
This is a wonderful family friendly restaurant that is fair priced and tastes good. I went here in the morning before black Friday shopping and had a very nice time!
Such a quaint place to go for a meal. We went for breakfast. We got seated in a short amount of time. Our server was very attentive during our entire time while we were there. I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the for we received but the food tasted so good and the service was so good here that isn't even worth knocking it a star. Would highly recommend going for breakfast before you head to the shore.
Great food and nice atmosphere.
One of the best breakfasts I've ever had
Drovers country Eatery is always a pleasant place to eat. It's right next to a lovely pond with ducks and geese play and swim. The food is very good and they give you a nice size serving. The wait staff and hostesses have always been friendly.
Fabulous food, great service and good ambiance
Great food, great service, cute little place
Good comfort food and good service. Great deals on lunch specials!
Good service and food
Clean, great service with a smile and soap was home made and delicious
I am visiting my parents for the weekend, my parents told me this was the best breakfast place to eat. I beg to differ! Our waitress Lynzee was so fake to out table. On top of the fact that my son had a hair in his food. The manager NEVER came over to our table to apologize. And they proceeded to say it was not there hair that it had res tint and no one in there kitchen had red hair. I will never eat here again and i will make sure anyone visiting that i know doesn’t go there ever. This is the rudest and fakest place i have ever been in my life and I’m from new york... lol
I got the cream chipped beef on biscuits. The food wasnt bad, bit not very good either compared to other places like Westside. Food was also overpriced, and smaller portions. Our server was nice however. Probably wont be back here again.
Rude service on Mothers Day. They try to rush you out when its busy. Food is good, but service really kills it.
Countrie Eatery is that elusive diner/restaurant that you want to have in your hometown but only seem able to find on the road. We were passing through Dover and made the stop after a random selection. Nice views of the lake from a lot of the tables, and clearly a local crowd fill the dining room. I wasn't overly impressed with the soup, but the entrees were pretty good. Liver and onions was filling, even in the smaller quantity, and the fried chicken was surprisingly good for a place this far north. Serve was attentive without being overbearing. Prices are reasonable for what you get. If the Countrie Eatery were near my home, this would be a weekly stop for me!
Great service and the breakfast was perfect! Loved the view too!
We go there every time we're in the area. Good food. Good service. Reasonable prices.
Good cheap home cooking. I wouldn't say it's the most upscale restaurant I've ever eaten at and I'm not too sure about it as a date location. But as a restaurant to visit on a lazy Saturday late afternoon this restaurant is perfect and almost seems to epitomize a time before Dover became a big military/Dover Downs type of town.
A lovely small restaurant located on the lake. Ambiance is quaint country as suggested by the name. Very good for breakfast and family friendly. Quality food at reasonable prices. One of my favourites, especially for visitors. I highly recommend the "Little Creek" off the breakfast menu.
Visited this place in November 2018, May 10 and May 12, 2018. The food was outstanding the first two time. I had crabcakes which was my favorite. However, on May 12, the food was not very tasty at all. The crabcakes had more stuffing than crab and no flavor. The side vegetables were very bland with no seasoning. This may have been because it was Mothers day and super busy-maybe they cut a few corners with the meals. Will I return to Countrie Eatery? Probably.
Terrible food and cold ,I will never go back to this place, my coffee was cold and old.
Absolutely good food. Great service. Meal was excellent.
Good food. Reasonable price.Very friendly service but a bit slow.
Food was great. Service was fast. Our waitress was very nice.
It was pretty good food. Worth the price. I'd go again. I had the Constitution breakfast... filled me up just right.
We go here every time we are in Dover. Usually it is amazing- the pumpkin and sweet potato pancakes. I ordered Eggs Benedict. Usually it's perfect but yesterday the eggs were too done for a good poached egg. I asked for some extra Hollandaise since it was so done and dry and I told her why. She looked at me crazy- brought me the sauce but didn't offer to have it remade or to take it off our check. Not sure how I feel about it.
Happened to pass by this place and figured we would stop in. Such great food! We haven't had food that tasted like "family dinner food" in quite a while and this totally fixed that! Plus a little look at the water after our meal was worth it too!
This place was not good. The only good thing about it was the size of the portions but the flavor was off. The problem with the eggs is that they were overcooked and under seasoned. The potatoes had no seasoning. One of our family members got a chip beef waffle and it literally came with 2 tablespoons of chipped beef. There were so many flies in the dining area that I felt like I kept swatting at them. The inside was very dated and dirty. I don't understand why people are giving this place such good reviews. One thing that was nice is outside there is a little overlooked that allows you to feed the fish below. That was fun. But I review based on food and restaurant and this place has a lot of opportunities for growth.
Best breakfast I've ever had
Great food. Great folks. We'll be back!
Food is always tasty and a good amount for your dollar....however facility needs improvement. Showing signs of needed repairs.
Very good casual Dover breakfast. Been here a few times over the years and have been consistantly very good
The food was delicious and the waitress was very nice the check was very reasonable would definitely go back again and i live an hour away
Good place for staple breakfasts. Food is good and service friendly
Service is great. Food is ok. Older crowd so kind of a dated menu and atmosphere, but nice location and good prices.
Great food and lots of it! Very friendly staff. It's well worth the stop.
Food here is average. Had ground steak with gravy and onions. Asked for well done; it was pink inside and not much flavor. Do not recommend.
Service was excellent
Great service, wonderful food.
Good service and Good Food
Eggs and potatoes where both gritty, sausage and pancakes good
The food was excellent. Service great and the atmosphere pleasant
Roast Beef Sandwich with Swiss, horseradish sauce, au jus, and fries was MAGNIFICENT
Wow!! What a wonderful time we had.....delicious food, an excellent waitress (Dawn), terrific prices and beautiful scenery. If you have never been to the Country Eatery-please go! You will love it. I will be back for sure!!
People are always nice. Food is always great ,Cooked perfect.Relaxed atmosphere.Reasonably priced.
I always like going here for breakfast. Its not like other places that are so nousy you can't hear yourself think. I've never had a bad food experience here so far, and have been going to this place for about 2 years. Seat scenery that faces the lake are my preferred seati f.
Food is good nice view by lake
Please do not eat anything other than breakfast here! The seafood is frozen and was served semi-raw. The scallops were chewy with NO flavor. The crab cake and stuffed shrimp were also completely filled with bread. Both the manager and server were not very apologetic about our experience and was told “dont worry about it”, when requesting a partial refund.
Happened to pass by this place and figured we would stop in. Such great food! We haven't had food that tasted like "family dinner food" in quite a while and this totally fixed that! Plus a little look at the water after our meal was worth it too!
So good for breakfast! Good prices, but not cheap. The prices match the quality of the food. Interesting place to try, beautiful views on the water with little ducks waddling around. Try the eggs Benedict, they have a version with a crab-cake instead of Canadian bacon!
A small old little restaurant that is great to go to for a Sunday brunch.
Food is great, priced reasonable and staff friendly
The Little Creek (poached eggs on crab cakes) is FANTASTIC
Disappointing breakfast. Biscuit had a taste of freezer burn. Cheese omelette looked like a larger version of those typical of chain hotel breakfasts. On a positive note, my wife’s eggs were perfectly poached (something many places struggle with). Service at the table was very good; hostess at the front was rather abrupt. On the way out, I saw a plate of pancakes that looked promising. If I was to go back, which I won’t, I try those.
Nice small joint to come and eat breakfast. I recommend if you're in the area for sure. Their sweet potato pancakes are great!
Dined on Sunday morning with my husband and toddler daughter. We arrived at 8:40 am and there were several open tables. However, the hostess took our name and asked us to wait as two other couples who walked in right behind us were seated at 4 top tables when 2 top tables were open and we were waiting. Claiming they had Reservations. The dining room seating is very tight and uncomfortable and no booths, not family friendly. Server was quick and friendly and food was served promptly. The food was excllent but a bit over priced. However, the servers have to bus their own tables so instead of getting us drink refills or boxes or the check our server was bussing tables. I had to approach her at a table she was bussing to get drink refills boxes and the check. Won’t be back.
Good food fair pricing good service
Food was ok. My expectation was for it to be better. Staff was also not as friendly as I had hoped.
Not a good night but we will go back
Great place to eat. The servers have always bee nice. The wait can be severe at times and the Hostess sometimes comes off very rude. The parking can be troublesome but the overall experience was well. Breakfast seems to be the busiest time. Call ahead to reserve a table.
While my soup was good my salad left me wondering. It was small with barely any greens and by greens, I mean iceberg lettuce
Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Service was excellent and surprisingly fast considering how crowded they were. No waiting, either. Amazing.
Waffles was memorable!! My Reuben on a wrap was delish!
I gave them a 4 prior but this time 3 of order the country ham and he cooked it to a jerky don't think he has ever tried it just cook it don right before and I took out of towners bragging and they from the south they live on
Always friendly and great proportion sizes. Friendly family atmosphere!
Really friendly, good country food ,good price, both thumbs up.
The food here was wonderful as always, but I wanted to give a shout out to Lynzee for her professionalism today. There were some very rude folks from New York sitting next to us yelling profanities and demanding free food. (an extra side of bacon isn't free in Delaware folks) When they realized they weren't getting their free food, all of a sudden there was a hair on the empty plate of food that they had JUST FINISHED. The waitress and manager both came out and apologized, but this woman and her father kept using profanity at a VERY disruptive volume and she promised to write a bad review. Lynzee managed to maintain her composure and continued to provide A+ service. When that table left there was a general sigh of relief from everyone sitting in the vicinity. (Frankly, I'm surprised there wasn't a standing ovation) Furthermore, even after getting comped, they walked out --leaving a 3 dollar tip on a $50+ bill. (Tip your servers folks!) I didn't catch the managers name--but Lynzee, the server, handled the situation with class and dignity. Thank you Lynzee. *****
This place was not good. The only good thing about it was the size of the portions but the flavor was off. The problem with the eggs is that they were overcooked and under seasoned. The potatoes had no seasoning. One of our family members got a chip beef waffle and it literally came with 2 tablespoons of chipped beef.
