I had the BEST burger at Abbey Burger. I chose the Kobe burger with cheddar cheese and onion rings and it was fantastic. Our server (Chuck?) was very hospitable and very funny. There were four of us and each one of us had the best food and the best time. We will be back!!

This place is a somewhat hidden gem, they really do have the best burgers in Maryland! All of the appetizers were delicious; we got crab tots and old bay wings. Our waiter Peter was very nice and attentive! Will definitely return when I’m back in ocean city!! Love this place.

The place is just mediocre. It has the kind of food that is difficult to mess up, yet has little inspiration for going any further that average. They make up for this kind of mediocrity by serving their food in visually appealing formats. For example, the use small plates, sides piled high, and much larger burger buns than necessary. However, those kinds of visual tricks often leave me feeling unfulfilled in a meal. It provided me the illusion of being satisfied through the value of quantity. Aside from that, I had the bison burger with a side of fries, and shared the fried green tomato appetizer with my company. The fried green tomatos were the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, it is unfair to compare them to the burger. The burger was dry, unseasoned, and overall lacked flavor. For example, it did not even have any salt or pepper on it when it was cooked. It left me underwhelmed. I would definitely visit again, but I would need to be encouraged by others to make that visit.

Got carry-out from here. Said it would take 15-20 min but it was more like 30. Had two different types of wings, and the cheeseburger egg rolls. Wings were large and sauces good. Great service and a really cool ordering system. They give you a paper with everything you could possibly want on a burger and you check off what you want. The food comes out hot and is clearly fresh. There are some vegan options. For vegetarians, the mac and cheese is great. Drinks are good, too.

Whenever we are in OC, we stop here at least once. They have really good burgers and lots of different kinds! There is a small area for kids to play and the staff is always friendly. We've never had to wait, guessing that's because the location is a bit off the beaten path.

As an out of towner on vacation, food is a very important part of a vacation. After being in the mood for a burger and reading the "great" reviews about The Abbey Burger Bistro, this was one of the worst experiences I've EVER had in my whole life at a resturaunt. It took well over an hour for our party of 6 to receive 6 burgers. BURGERS. Sub-par burgers at that. Definitely not worth the wait and not at all worth the price. We kept getting excuses not only from our server but the resturaunt manager as well. "Everything is being plated as we speak" - 15 minutes go by and still no food. I would highly recommend anyone to stay far far away from this burger joint. I would have gone to five guys if I would have known it was going to be this awful.

Could've been 5 stars, except they ran out of ostrich burgers, & they totally forgot the food of one of our party (they did send it with us to go at no charge). Alligator bites were great. Water Buffalo burger was good, much the same as a Bison burger. Would give 3 1/2 stars for this visit, but lots of potential to be a 5 star.

Our visit was awful. The server was nice but slow. The burgers were ordered medium and came out rare. When we sent them back, they supposedly threw them back on the grill(YUCK! does that sound sanitary? It had a bite out of it!) But it looked like they were microwaved. The manager did not compensate us at all besides not paying for the burgers we lost our appetite to eat.

The food is always good, so far I haven't had anything I haven't liked, from the build-your-own burger to the fried pickles or the happy hour wings. Service is very good, very timely and friendly. They interact with the seasonal tourists the way they do with locals, making it a very inviting atmosphere. At times, the music can be a bit loud but overall, not a big deal. The beer list at this location is very good, among my favorite selections for craft beer here at the beach. With close proximity to Northside park, it's a perfect place to get a pint and enjoy some summer league softball and a good sunset.

They make a pretty good burger here. I've had better, but not in OC. Building your own burger sounds like a better idea than it is in reality. Adding toppings also adds to your bill, naturally, but unless you have a specific burger experience in mind, you're likely to just end up with a mishmash of flavors. Which probably tastes pretty good, mind you, but isn't any better or cheaper than a well-thought-out burger designed by a chef. So it's fun and the food is good, but for me at least it wasn't all that special.

And they even had a little area off to the side so that the kids can play. It was full of toys and coloring books and crayons and they even had TV's set up in their for the kids to watch movies. Nice atmosphere, food is interesting and good! Variety of meats you may not have tasted...camel? Kangaroo? Alligator? This is a place for adventurous eating. They do have a gluten free bun . I was able to keto adapt the green chili cheese steak to be bunless and the presentation was spot on. My husband had the peanut butter burger which was very good...they could take a bite and add some bacon marmalade to it that would knock it out of the park ;) chili waffle fries as an app was also good and I think if you asked for a few more tomatoes and on half and avoided the waffle fries this would be another great keto choice. The chili fries have avacado, tomatoes, cheese sauce and reg cheese with jalapeno and chili. Great friendly staff.

Just returned from our vacation in Ocean City. The Abbey is our "go-to" when in town. We typically will have two or so dinners there with our kids and a cocktail at the bar once or twice if we go out alone. I love this place. Firstly, the food is delicious!! I crave their burgers and sometimes we'll make an hour trek to their Baltimore location just to satiate my cravings! The outdoor space is inviting and relaxing and the indoor dining room is available in case of bad weather. This week we were able to watch fireworks after dinner from our table and another night, we had low-key live music to accompany dinner. The kids love the food too. We went out after the kids went to bed last night to have a cocktail and saw the previous poster (1 star) and their family. There was a patron using foul language; however, in defense of the owners, it was a patron, not an owner, and the poster had kids there after 11 PM in a BAR. I wouldn't take my kids to a bar after 8 PM or so, but that's me. Anyway, I finished off my vacation with a spiked shake and wrapped up a great week at our favorite vacation spot. Enjoy!

My husband and I ordered burgers medium well. They were completely rare when we got them. We told our waiter who agreed they were raw, they sent them back to the kitchen. The burgers we got back had clearly been seared on the outside and cooked no further on the inside - still totally raw. At this point, our 4 month old baby is crying when a manager stopped by and asked us how our dinner was. She told us we’d receive a discount since I didn’t want to wait for them to cook our burgers. The discount was only 15%! The food was INEDIBLE and all they gave us was a 15% discount. Ridiculous. Don’t go here. And don’t order the tater tots either - a $3 upcharge for frozen tater tots you could buy from Food Lion and cook yourself is a rip-off.

I did the create your own burger used bison meat. It was great so many options with going this route. My fiancee got the Korean duck burger and the peanut butter and bacon burger. She's Korean so she couldn't resist getting the Korean duck burger. She was very impressed. She was so excited to see the peanut butter and bacon burger and said it was fantastic. I sincerely suggest trying The Abbey Burger Bistro you won't be disappointed!!

Terrible service. Arrived before 6pm plenty of tables but we were told 30 minute wait. Proceed to place a takeout order and was told it would be 20 minutes. Manager came out after 30 minutes and told hostess all to-go orders would take 1 hour. Mind you they weren't overly busy and still couldn't provide service. Left 40 minutes after takeout order and still no food.

I should have known when I walked in on a holiday weekend at dinner time and the place was 3/4 empty and smells musty. Took 30 min to get a flat warm beer and it went down from there. I would not be going back to this place ever. The worse hamburger and service ever.

Came here for reliable food based on the reviews, but after having the food I regret even looking up this place. Ordered the wings after waiting 20 mins of sitting there with a waitress walk by and fail to even acknowledge us. Started eating the wings while watching a game on the tv, after the first wing we became concerned because we looked at the chicken that was pink and red in color. We left the wings on the table and cut one open to let the waitress know. The waitress didn't seem to care at all and after a while we decided to let the manager know that this was a problem. After waiting for the manager to finish up talking to people at the bar for 15 mins, we let him know. Instead of saying "sorry i realize there was a mistake, how can I make this right?", the manager states "Next time ask for them extra crispy". At this time I felt sick to my stomach that this was happening. Rather than admit any fault at all or try to make anything right, he placed blame on us. We chose not to even bring up the "crab" meat that they served us because we were both shocked at the manager's response to our undercooked chicken concern. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I Tried this place for the first time with my boyfriend and a friend last night. The place was not too busy for Memorial Day weekend, the atmosphere was fun and friendly, and the staff was absolutely phenomenal! There was lots of space to sit at the bar, unlike many other restaurants in the area. The food was delicious! I loved everything I was served. I would really recommend the alligator bites and the waffle chili cheese fries. The burgers were on point and perfectly cooked. I had a build your own burger and it was amazing and worth every dollar. My boyfriend had the Baltimore Burger, which is an Angus burger topped with crab and cheddar. He was able to sub in swiss for the cheddar at no extra cost. It looked juicy and just as good in person as it did on the menu. He loved it! The bartender had excellent beer recommendations. I asked for something fruity, and she suggested the Früli strawberry wheat, which was perfect! She even let me try a sample before I ordered! This place also appears to be pretty family friendly, with a few arcade games and a little area with games and seating for kids. I may have found a new OC favorite, and I will definitely be returning!

We came in with 50 people after a lax game and I think we caught Abby off guard. Food was ok and unfortunately our waitress was in training so service was a bit shaky. They did a great job making sure everything was as ordered. I think we would give them a second chance but not with so many people.

Menu looked very promising, however we did not have a great experience. Took a very long time to get our food, then 2 of our 5 orders were incorrect and the food was only lukewarm, seemed like it had been sitting under a warmer for a while. Ended up spending a lot of money on a not-so-great meal. My husband loved his bison burger though. And there is a play area for young kids which is nice.
