Daughter and I took grandson to park which is right next door. Went in on a whim and ordered two chicken breast. OMG...out of this world. Loved it. They have so much more on the menu to offer. Next time we will order more. I believe it is owned by family. They were absolutely genuine nice people.

Lettie's is known for their takeout fried chicken. They do have an assortment of soups / salads / sandwiches as well, but sandwiches are a bit on the small side. There is also a deli counter of fresh made side dishes. Not really a place to eat-in , but they do have a few tables, which most likely be taken by locals eating their lunch. Parking is also close to non-existent (4 spaces + a driveway).

This place has the best fried/broasted chicken I have ever eaten. From the super crisp coating to the amazing flavor that permeates the entire chicken, each piece is moist and delicious. Side dishes vary but every one I've tried has been great. Small eat-in area, friendly staff, you will plan your next visit before you have finished your meal.

Taste just like home. The chicken is good fresh to order and because of that it wasn't greasy. My colleague's and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Took my mother there for lunch. We had salads and they were good, but the restaurant is very, very dirty. Buckets of cigarette butts on the front porch, garbage and dirty tables in the restaurant, dirt all over the floors, the kitchen was also very dirty. My mother uses a walker and when we arrived, a truck was blocking access to the restaurant. When I inquired about how to get my mom in, we were told to wait for the delivery truck to leave. They should have asked the truck to move to give access to customers. We had to park across the street and it was a long walk in for my elderly mom. No restaurant should ever be this dirty, it's unacceptable! We will not be back.

Best fried chicken around. Pies are good too. Catering service is very useful. Customer service is friendly, great kid named Andrew working in there. Awesome spot with local food and flavor! There's framed portraits of some local history in there as well.

Food: The fried chicken is the best in Delaware and gives fried chicken from across the country a run for its money. Its that good. That is what they do right, and there is a lot of good things to say about it. Service: Mom and Pop run shop. Don't except career servers here, more of a high school kid vibe, which is fine. Fast and friendly. Atmosphere: Very small place that does not lend itself to eating in. Order some fried chicken and maybe a couple sides and bring it back to your dinner table.

Drove up from Baltimore, more than an hour away, to place an order of their fried turkey for Thanksgiving. Their website and a phone call to the store indicated I had until the 17th to place an order. When I arrived on the 13th I was told they had more than 50 orders and wasn't taking any more because they don't have enough fryers! First impression is always key... I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Probably the best piece of fried chicken I have ever eaten. The cook was perfect with a crisp skin over tender, juicy interior. The only imperfection was a little extra salt in the batter. The mashed were great and I also enjoyed a mixed veg in vinaigrette. Many side options available to choose, including home made desserts. There was a steady traffic in takeout. All chicken is cooked to order so plan on a twenty minute wait to be served. Friendly, accommodating staff. I will definitely be back! Thanks, Lettie!

I will be back. Presently. I never take the time to review products or services online, im to busy and probably lazy, but Lettie's is the exception to my rule!!! The food here really is like something out of a dream. I called ahead, which is a good thing because i was told it would be about an hour wait for chicken (which was fine because i live about a half hour away and on a friday night with traffic i was there in less then that. I got there about 45 minutes later and was greeted by a very cheery young woman and the man i had spoken to on the phone who had graciously set a side of pasta salad for me til when i got there (i was concerned that it would sell out b4 i arrived lol, and so he put a pint to the side for me). Everyone was so friendly. It appears that the buisness might be ran out of their home? It is clean and warm and a feeling of nostalgia settled over me the second i was through the door. It has been converted into a small dining area featuring a huge coldcase with side dishs (potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, soups etc), a few freezers (one with sodapop and drinks, and another with frozen homemade soups that are to die for! I LOVE

I know my husband is posting, but I had to add my own comments. Wow, what a fabulous Saturday outing. I had been wanting to find a great fried chicken place in DE and Lettie's did not disappoint. It was worth our 1 hour drive from Dover! The chicken was amazing, crisp light coating, seasoned perfectly around juicy fresh chicken. And all the sides, especially the potatoe salad, to die for. Not to mention the terrific friendly staff. You've got to try it...but call ahead because they cook it all to order. Lettie's we'll be back

Im not sure what all the hype is about....We went in about 11am and immediately couldn't help noticing the kid behind the counter with his hand down his pants, 0bviously, distracted by an itch.. Before we could say a word, he informed us that they didn't have any chicken ready..As luck would have it, we left and will not be returning.

Great fried chicken but it ain't cheap. The few food items I tried were good but the store is in an old house and it kinda hot and cramped if you have to wait for your takeout. Service can be slow. They have a few tables for dine in. Zingo's fried chicken is cheaper and just as good.

I rarely write reviews, but I have experienced a pattern with this place. Good food, horrible service. You have to wait at least double the time even when you call your order in and the staff will stop in the middle of waiting on you to randomly go do something else. Today the lady who waited on me stopped 2-3 times and kept asking what I had order. She actually stopped in the middle of bagging my food to take a call. I understand if she had to answer the phone to stop it from ringing, but someone else was helping that customer on the phone. Would it really have hurt to get the bowl from behind the counter and put it in the bag? It took about 10 seconds. If I could have gotten the food myself I would have. The food is good but they really need to work on their service.

First time here and when we walked in my friend asked for a menu and there was none but we could look it up online. However after she ordered he looked at a menu taped to the wall next to him. I ordered ceaser salad with chicken, they had nooooooooo chicken except for a piece of fried chicken with bone that they could put on top. Even tho I know they are known for the fried chicken, I prefer not to eat that in my salad. It was $7.50 for a plate of lettuce and cheese, it was fresh and dressing was delicious. Disappointed since I had heard great things. Guess wasn't my day.

We have been customers since Lettie's opened. The food is always delicious, fresh and homemade. We have a 7 year tradition of ordering the special entree of beef tenderloin on Valentine's Day, which is a high-end restaurant quality entree, and we dine in our Dining Room without the craziness of the restaurants. Lettie's is the place for take out, meals, catering and special occasions. We love it, and whenever anyone hears we are having Lettie's on our table, they know it will be delicious!!!

What a great little place. We ordered take out here for six of us in our family and we ordered ahead arrived and the food was right on time. My son liked the mac and cheese my aunt and uncle loved the meatloaf and is their usual favorite. And I had fried chicken which was really tasty. I would definitely go back to this establishment again and kudos to the chefs who make all the food homemade and from scratch

Tonite was my first time here. I thought the chicken was already made. Wrong !! I waited 40 mins for them to cook it . Which I didn't mind! Brought the chicken home to my three teenage age boys. I must say the approve it!! That chicken was slamming!! Season, juicy, and right size. That chicken had my car smelling , like my mom's house on a Sunday. I will be back, next time I will call ahead. Oh and the young girl at the counter, was just a Friendly and smiled. Thank you for making us a great dinner! Btw, we had the Mac also!!

Lettie's is the best fried chicken in Delaware in my opinion. Always made fresh, and the sides and deserts are amazing. Make sure to order their biscuits if they are not already sold out. Another tip, call your order in before you come as they make the chicken fresh to order and it takes a while to get it cooked.
