The best Chinese food I've ever had! They cook the food right in front of you, no hidden kitchen. GREAT prices, tip them, they deserve it! Tip: When you reheat your left over rice, sprinkle a few drops of water on it to make it soft. I get 2 meals out of a $7.95 dinner.

I had surgery and can't have anything fried which makes it hard to get good take out food. Tonight I tried the grilled chicken. It was grilled chicken with onions. It was very good. It's nice to have a good healthy option. We ordered with the waitr app. My wife got an egg roll and it was very good. Not too thick and not too greasy.

We were anticipating our visit to Hunan's which in the past has been one of my favorite restaurants to dine at.....Although on yesterday we had a terrible experience...We order egg rolls..sweet and sour chicken..shrimp lo mein..egg drop soup..and fried rice with chicken.....it was horrible to say the least....absolutely no seasoning on any of the food....we asked for manangement to come out...and we were told that the food is seasoned for customers who eat low sodium food...I was simply amazed...and disappointed...the manager was nice and apologize..but I will not be returning.....I understand the fact that the restaurant does cater to customers that are on a low sodium diet...but we were not THOSE customers and it ruined our dinner....another note to Scott our waiter..when serving customers in the future..remember to check your silverware and plates to ensure that everything is in order before placing them on the table....Hunan's received great reviews...maybe everyone is on a low sodium diet....

The last time I went there the price was 19.00 for two people. I went there today expecting 19.00 price for lunch at 12:30. The price went up at least 6-7 dollars and for me and my friend to eat it was 26.00. that is ridiculous. There is not even that much of a selection and the food isn't even that good. I have went to Chinese buffets where the lunch prices were way lower than that and had a ton more food. I wouldn't mind paying that much except there is not that much selection to choose from and it wasn't even that good. Not coming here again. Also the staff was rude and as I was eating they just stare at you.

Here's a haiku for you: What happened Hunan? Was it the economy? Oversalted food In all seriousness, the food was overly salty (are they trying to mask something?) and there was actually some crawfish shells in one of the dishes, bleh. The selection is limited (around 10 dishes to select from) for a normal buffet, with two different soups: hot and sour and egg drop soup. There is also a dessert bar but I usually avoid that not knowing how long the fruit/jellos are out in the open. Hunan was known for its quality but it seems to be going down each year.

Does not care about their customers. I was eating in there and orded soup. They were out of spoons and I had to eat it with a fork and sip the liquid from a bowl. Their excuse was that they ordered spoons but has not come in yet. They are next to a supermarket and could have gone and bought spoons until their order came in. But they have little understanting about customer service. I live in the area and will never eat here again.

Placed an online order, we got there and they couldn't seem to find it. Finally found it and then proceeded to wait 45 minutes to get food. Meanwhile, while we sat and wait we saw how terribly mismanaged and inefficient this joint is. When we finally got our order, the manager did nothing real to rectify the situation, despite us voicing our disappointment. When we finally got home to eat, the order wasn't even right. Instead of a pork with eggplant dish we ordered, we got a egg casserole type dish that was more like breakfast food than Chinese. Incredibly disappointing.

First time we tried Hunan Chinese. Ordered delivery and within 45 mins a very friendly guy was at our door with hot fresh food. The portions are huge so you could share if needed. The best shrimp egg rolls I’ve ever had. Diffently will be calling again when where down next month.!!

First I walked in and placed my order all I ordered was sesame chicken combo fried hard with extra sauce, no pork in the fried rice and it came with a egg. I also ordered fried wontons. I stand there for a few min and say okay I'll be right back I come back with in 10 min and the lady goes to hand me my bag and say okay your ready general tso chicken combo with no pork in rice....no no no that's not what I ordered I tell her and she proceeds to ask me if I really want to change it. Yes I dont eat spicy food I tell her so she said okay I'll change it. She asks again sesame chicken I said yes fried hard with extra sauce. So she tells them in the back what i want and after standing there for a whole half a hour i finally get my food. I got home and went to go eat it and the chicken was soggy wasn't fried hard at all and it had no sauce on it at all just a couple sprinkles of sesame seeds. This isn't the first time the lady in that Chinese store did what she wanted instead of what the customer ordered I should of had just stuck to my gut and just went to the Chinese store by Cape.. they dont ever mess your order up.. I definitely won't go there again ever.

Used to be reliably good, but not sure what has happened lately. My family used to frequent this location but after one visit when we had a large party and had an underwhelming meal, it appears the food has been deteriorating. Have not been in a while, except for take out. Nothing to write home about. There has to be better in Baton Rouge.

This is one of the more popular Chinese buffets in Baton Rouge, I have had way better in the New Orleans area, however there's nothing I can really complain about it. It's a little more pricey than your typical Chinese buffet, which is why I would prefer to go to others.

We ordered pan fried dumplings, chicken lo mein, shrimp fried rice and kung pao chicken. The dumplings were OK. The chicken lo main had flavor. The shrimp fried rice was awful- no flavor and not fried rice at all. The Kung Pao was disappointing with no flavor and no heat. Big chunks of green pepper and very little chicken. The sad thing is there is no where in Rehoboth Beach with good Chinese food.

I see no attraction for this place. Very poor, slow service. Conflicting responses about whether the lunch menu was available for Sunday lunch (it’s not, but we weren’t told this until well after we ordered and other’s food had come out). Tempura was over breaded and the chicken was completely dried out. I struggle to find anything good to say about this place, except for the mild pleasantries just before delivering the check. I won’t be back. I wrote the above before leaving the restaurant. Now I can add the ridiculous fiasco of paying the bill. When it came, the only visible bill was a subtotal from “upstairs” stapled to and completely covering a total bill (that added 18% gratuity for 6 people) and the “downstairs” items. So when our credit cards came back, the check was substantially more than what it appeared to be when they presented it. When I questioned the hostess, she put it off on us for ordering off 2 different menus and said I should complain to the manager. The manager then put it off on separate ownership of different restaurants under the same roof, as if we should accept this explanation. All said, I highly recommend avoiding “Hunan Chinese Restaurant” and whatever other 2 establishments that it operates with.

This is one of the largest buffets in Baton Rouge and the selections range widely. I can also safely say there hasn't been a dish I've tried I didn't like yet. Seeing all the famous people on the walls is interesting, too, and the owner still works there. You can tell he has a loving pride and passion for his restaurant and the customers who visit.

Wow I just found this place driving around, from what I understand it's been around a long time. Well let's get to the review. I walked in and we seated pretty quickly. The took my drink order, off to the buffet I went. The selection was good not the best I have seen but not the worst. All of it was good. Great selection of all the normal Chinese foods. My favorite was the Beef and broccoli and the mushrooms. The servers were super nice and quick to get drink refills and the price was okay for a lunch break. I would give it a B+ add a little more selection and it would be a A+

Not only is the food always fresh and delicious, the staff are amazing! Every time we come, we leave with full bellies and a smile! They allowed me to breastfeed my baby in one of the closed dinning rooms. They are always very friendly with my kids. They also give more than enough food! I love this place! Our experience: Ordered delivery, after an hour heard nothing, so called them to ask where our food was. She basically said she didn’t know. Called her two more times and asked her to call the driver. An hour and a half after ordering and multiple calls, the driver calls to say he’s on his way and that they lost the order. He was super apologetic which was nice. An hour and forty five minutes!!! after ordering the food shows up. I will say the dumplings were amazing and so were the spring rolls, and the general tsos chicken was good. The crab rangoons were absolutely awful and a total let down, worst crab rangoons I’ve ever had. I feel like the food taking almost 2 hours they should have comped some of our order so we didn’t have to pay full price but they didn’t offer that and were very short and unapologetic with us on the phone. Feel like after it being that late they should’ve tried to make it better some how... Just wasn’t a great experience for $25.

After my last three visits, I must say that the food at the lunch buffet is below average. The eggplant was cold, over battered and so much so that the breading soaked up the sauce making the batter very difficult to chew. The fried catfish was cold and also over battered. The fried pepper shrimp were cold and the breading was soggy. The sesame chicken was very tough. They must use the cheapest type of chicken and cooked it way before it was put on the line. Baton rouge has no more really good Chinese buffets any longer. They need to put less food out and make sure what they put out is fresh. The pork ribs were fatty, bland and tough. The breading on the chicken wings was ridiculously thick. Now that I think about it. The breading may be heavy to fill people up on that instead of meat. The chicken on a stick was the best item on the line. It could have been served fresher. The pictures looked a lot better than the food was. Very misleading. The lack of customers reflected the sub standard food.

The owner is rude. She rushes you when you're ordering. She has gotten our order wrong twice! When we called no apology, or nothing. I questioned my total and she repeated herself, when the delivery guy came in was more money then she told us. We called and she became nasty and yelled that it was what we had ordered. Do not ever go here! The food is cold because they deliver everywhere else first and make the furthest person wait, regardless of who ordered first!

I ordered a delivery order, which I specifically told her I did not want shrimp in my fried rice. I mentioned this multiple times due to the fact that my child is extremely allergic to shrimp. She then stated she had to talk to the manager, then returned saying this was no problem. 45 min I received my order and the first thing i see is the shrimp I asked not to have. I immediately called them back, then she stated that I was lying and I never mentioned anything about having no shrimp. She was extremely rude and handled the situation the worst way possible, when it could of been an easy fix. The food wasn't that good to add. I do not recommend this place, spend your hard earned money somewhere else that will give you the customer service you deserve, and where they don't call you a lier.

I started going to Hunan's when they first opened off of Airline Hwy., 30-years-ago. I married, moved away, then came back to find there was still a Hunan's. All our kids grew up on Hunan's. My dad, 90, still goes there once a week. Fabulous food, great prices, with a menu to please any picky eater, and a buffet that can't be beat, you can't go wrong choosing Hunan's. You get consistently good Chinese favorites that will have you going back, and telling your friends.

I had eaten the lunch buffet here many times over the years, but last night's visit was the first time I've ever ordered off of the menu at Hunan. By the by, if you haven't been here for lunch yet, you really should go. It's no joke that Hunan is called the best Chinese restaurant in BR. It really is that good. We had steamed dumplings and egg rolls for an appetizer. The dipping sauces made both of these dishes amazing. There was a tiny dot of spice in the egg roll sauce (horseradish or yellow wasabi, not sure which) that was both extremely hot and extremely delicious. I was very impressed with how the spiciness enhanced the flavors instead of overwhelmed them. The kids had honey chicken kids meals with Lo mein. We were warned that the portions were big and the kids could split one, but my 9 year old always complains that kids meals are too small, so we ordered 2. Which was a mistake. The kids portions were MASSIVE (picture attached). Neither one ate more than half of their food. They both liked their dishes. I tried their chicken and it was very good, but it also had this buttery undertone I wasn't expecting. Not bad, just odd. The Lo mein tasted like your average Lo mein. I had the Return of the Phoenix which was a savory/sweet chicken dish with sesame seeds. I ordered it extra spicy, but it wasn't very spicy when it came out so I added some of their spicy chili sauce to it. Our server was attentive and courteous too, and she gladly answered our questions about the dishes. All in all, I was impressed with the quality, price, and portion size (we all had leftovers for lunch today) and I would definitely come back again for dinner.

We get delivery occasionally and the food is good. Sometimes you might get something that's been on the steam table a little too long. The price is average to a little high. Delivery is usually quick and the people are nice.

Worst Experience at the Beach!!! COLD FOOD AND MESSED UP ORDER!!! Called my order in en-route which they had lost upon me trying to add items. Arrived and they had the order jumbled. Tried several times to get right with the staff. Trusted that they had it right. Arrived home with items MISSING and the food was COLD. Tried to get it right by talking to the staff but staff was argumentative. NOT WORTH The one start this makes you use to post.

I love this place. I've been coming here since 2001. Every Now and again we crave it. Everything is good, I am partial to roast pork with chinese veggies, and roast pork with Mushrooms and pea pods. And the pork rice is out of this World. Thanks May. What a good job!

I think we just ate the leftover buffet from the night before! Rice, noodles and cake were all dry! This place left a lot to be desired based on all of the positive reviews. Maybe people are judging it by the price and not the quality.
