This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
Food is good, restaurant is clean, and the staff is courteous. They will prepare your dish as mild or as spicy as you like. They aim to please! They also have a buffet if that is your preference.
Awesome food. Tony the owner bends over backwards to accommodate. The food is truly worth far more than he charges. Did I tell you the food is awesome?
Small space, but good for a quick lunch buffet!
The best! Great food at great prices. Amazing buffet everyday at lunch and Tuesday and Sunday nights.
Love the food n service. Prices are awesome
The buffet is amazing and so well priced, see service is very efficient and friendly
Lunch buffet was really good! Large variety and vegetarian friendly!
Great place, good food, friendly service.
My son and I love the buffet. Its quick and taste amazing.
Excellent food love spicy food so good service is good and everyone is so friendly
This is the place to go to get truely amazing Indian food. The naan bread is superb. The lamb vindaloo is down right divine. The atmosphere is relaxed with Indian style paintings and decor. Staff are polite and professional. A right delight all around.
Staff were attentive and polite but the food was bland and over cooked. Chicken was quite tough and where is the spice? This is Indian food. Flavour was a letdown. Probably wouldn't go back. (This was the lunch buffet I am reviewing)
Best Indian food around! If I could eat here everyday I would. The buffet is great as are the entrees. Good takeout too. Great staff
Very fresh..very good..always friendly
Really good Indian food, they have a huge menu to select from for dinner, if can't decide order veg or non veg Thali. They also have lunch and dinner buffet (Sunday and Wednesday)
Great food.
Birthday lunch from my sister. Fantastic!
As far as I'm concerned, this is the best place to get genuine and delicious Indian food in mid to lower Delaware. They have an extensive menu, friendly to meat and non meat eaters, I have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered, and always leave with a full belly. The vindaloo is phenomenal and paired with a mango lassi, I was happy. 100% recommend giving Flavor of India a try!
Delicious food
It's not my cup of tea. I went with friends and tried it for the first time. You have an acquired taste for it.
Good food. Good prices.
Delicious authentic Indian food in a nice small restaurant with great service
On my way to home after my trip we stop for the lunch and we visited according to the google reviews. So we just came for buffet. When just started tasting the food and we did even liked one item and not even satisfied. I don’t know why all these people gave high ratings. This not actually indian food. You can find more good taste and wonderful one in other india restaurants. Most of the items are not spicy, mild and less than mild. Desserts are not like indian made one. The tea is mixed more water then milk.
Awesome food. We go once a year when on vacation
Absolutely love this restaurant. Very authentic Indian. Go during buffet if you are new to Indian and can try many different dishes.
Best Indian food in Delaware! Love the buffet lunch or dinner. Great variety to choose from and everything is sooooo delish. Garlic Nan was yum, too
really bad food. ordered Goat Curry and Naan. i was in hurry to go back to mayland. meat was not cooked properly so could not eat it. Gravy saved me so i eat Naan and Rice with that. really disappointed with this indian restaurent
My friends and I love to come to the Sunday buffet. The fresh Naan and mango juice are so satisfying, and the chicken Tikka Masala is the best in the area I feel. The service is great and everything I've tried has been delicious. They win Best of Delaware awards every year, and once you've been you can see why.
A wonderful surprise Indian restaurant in Dover, DE. Had a delicious, fresh meal. They had a ton of vegetarian choices (lentils, rice, fresh greens, etc.) and meat eater dishes (chicken, goat, lamb, etc.). I highly recommend the mango juice, BBQ chicken, Mahali chicken, Punjabi salad, and Masala Chai. Service was the very best!
Very good Indian food in Dover. Good flavor and delicious. Only ordered from the menu so far, haven't tried their buffet (that's only for everyday during lunch and Tuesdays & Sundays during dinner). They can altered the spice level even you order off the menu.
Worth every penny
As usual the food was great.
The lunch buffet during the week and the dinner buffet on Sunday is delicious! The aroma when you enter the restaurant immediately entices my taste buds. The staff, although, efficient lack hospitality skills. Nonetheless, it is an enjoyable experience and the food is tasty. Beer and wine are served and recently Martinis have been added to the libation menu. Definitely get the garlic naam!
Our friends introduced us to this restaurant today for lunch. The food is delicious! We dined at the buffet. Moved from DC/MD metropolitan area where ethnic food is abundant. The food here exceeded our expectations. Will definitely add this to our frequent list.
We dine here quarterly. Best Taste of India food in Dover, in our opinion. Nothing fancy, but great food. Buffet style lunch and full dinner menu. Prices are reasonable! If you love the Indian cuisine, give them a visit!
Always a lot of delicious choices and good service! My favorite Indian place.
My husband and I love stopping here whenever we’re in Dover. The food is excellent and the service is great.
Food was excellent, fresh and there was plenty of veggie options if you your meat fan. This was my first time coming and I will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service! Do not hesitate to eat here if you like Indian food. It's really good! You will love it!
Always good
I love the food and the service is great!
The service is great, the owners are very friendly. The food is EXCELLENT!! If you don't like this place, you probably just don't like Indian food. I have eaten some great Indian food in California, where food is always amazing, and this is right on par. They have a good variety of meat and vegetarian options on both the regular menu and during the lunch buffet. The only thing I'd be careful of is spice factor. The "spicy" option, which is usually not that spicy when I ask at restaurants, is SPICY!
Best Indian food in Delaware.
First time trying Indian cuisine and I was not disappointed! The staff was attentive and the food was incredibly flavorful and delicious. I am looking forward to going again soon.
Excellent food. A bit pricey but nice ambiance.
Absolutely delicious. Lamb Korma was out of this world. Didn't go for the buffet but I look forward to trying it. Generous portions, cordial staff, and wide variety to choose from.
Best Indian spot. Go to the lunch buffet. All you can eat for 9.99 from 12-3. The cleanest place ever
Flavorful Indian food.
Consistently excellent quality, best vegetarian menu in Dover, and authentic lamb/goat/chicken dishes as well. Nice quiet place for a date!
NOT ORGANIC as website says. Me and wife ate there and asked before we were seated, Organic ingredients right? Sure, sure, sure organic we were told. We hesitantly ate there any way. I went to use bathroom and peaked into kitchen, nothing organic could be seen. As we were leaving I asked my wife do you really think it was organic? So I walked around to side of build and noticed boxes out side kitchen door. Box for 4 GALLONS of RED food dye!! Cheap sams club and imports from China and Canada! NOT ORGANIC or even NON-GMO!
Good authentic Indian good. Small and cozy. Have open tables each time I go there.
Excellent tasty food. Were sceptical walking in for lunch and we're surprised by tasty and food freshness.
Always great food. The owner is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Always been hard to get the wait staff to keep your glass full nj of water/soda... but not that big of a deal to ask.
While it is a smaller buffet than some, I don't believe that there are any others that can meet the high quality and freshness you will find there.
As evidenced by all the awards they have received this is a very popular restaurant. I visited that last Friday night with a colleague of mine and we both have an excellent meal. The wait staff are extremely knowledgeable and make every effort to make sure that your dining experience is a memorable one. The menu is extensive with easy-to-understand explanations. They sell a variety of local and Indian brewed beers which I can highly recommend as well as some extremely interesting cocktails. Two people handle appetizer main course and beer and the check came to just $43 including tax
Good food. Buffet has a little bit of everything.
Good tasty food. Delicious wide range of dishes in buffet from vegetarians to Halal meat. Chicken , Mutton and Beaf. Afghani Pulao, grilled Tikka, Kabaab, korma and chicken boneless ginger curry are the best. Different types of bhujia and fried vegetables are also the most loved too. Clean environment.
Great food and great staff. Love that they have so much to choose from on their menu as well.
Great change of pace for Americans. Wish food was spicier and had less liquid
Meal was truly delicious
Horrible experience! Really wish there was another option. I will never go back. I wish there was a no STAR rating.
Great authentic Indian cuisine, they make best naan I've ever had
Really tasty food! Excellent bread.
Best Place To Eat and Excellent Service
Grabbed some food to go fast great and will go again
Always good good. I go to Delaware State U little down the road and me and my friend go there maybe once a month to treat ourselves. The dinning hall food can be so blah and going there just makes us feel better. We need good food like this to keep us sane with all the stress from school. The ppl that work there are very nice and I like that they aren't all up in our faces. Prices are good for all the food that you get. Overall great place.
We had the buffet today....always tasty! Lamb, chicken, goat, rice, veggies, rice pudding, chai tea.......soda, wine.....garlic bread...all very good.....eat all you can.....I had 3 full plates!.....best indian food in delaware for 20 years
Love love the food. So good.
A hidden gem. This place looks "meh", but the food AND service were superb.
The best food I had and a Buffet
Love this place! I've eaten Indian all over the US, and this place is one of the best. We usually go for the lunch buffet, and the variety never disappoints. We also do larger family gatherings there every so often and always find something for ever palate - even the toddler's! And Tony always takes good care of you. Try the Mango Lassi!
My Go-To to satisfy my craving for Indian Food! I usually get the Chicken Korma with Garlic Nan Bread & Mango Lassi Smoothie. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Lunch buffet is fresh, hot, and delicious.
When we arrived we waited to be greeted as we weren't sure whether it will seat yourself or host or Hostess will seat you so we asked someone who saw her standing there but went back behind the register if we would just go ahead and feed ourselves and he said yes we sat down had to ask for something to drink and if we just start the buffet and then he again said yes the food was mediocre the service was not great not sure I will be returning
Good food and service. Amazing naan!!
Wow, I must say best India restaurant I have been to in the US this far and I have been to a lot. Best buffet, everything cooked to perfection. This place gets 5 stars something I really never do. I could go on and on about this place and it's customer service. Outstanding!
Love the service, flavor food and variety of dishes and drinks! Very familiar and professional oriented!
Wonderful food and a very clean and nice establishment.
Vegetarian review. The owner running the restaurant was our server. We were one of the last customers for the day and the arrogance on the face of the owner was made more than apparent. Tony felt he was doing US a favor by serving us food at 9:30PM. Now about the food: The naans were excellent - with a good deal of crunchy bubbles on them. The paneer masala was also good and flavorful, with the paneer being especially soft. The Punjabi kadhi was atrociously too garlicy and felt like it was cooked into a 'vegetable'. The kadai vegetable was also very marginal in flavor and style which may have just be their own regional effect so I will let that pass. The aloo paratha was tandoor-style and felt as though the dough had been sitting around for a while. This may be the 'top' Indian restaurant in Dover and south of it for 50 miles but considering there are only two Indian eateries - they don't really much competition.
Had the buffet today. Was delicious all around except for the goat, it could have been better. Not bad for the price though.
Great authentic Indian food. Lunch buffet with good selection. Dinner buffet Tuesdays and Sundays. Busy, but rarely a long wait time when I've been there. Food is fresh, and the restaurant and restrictions are clean.
Tried their buffet dinner priced at $12.99. The spread was big, like really big for the price. The food was sub-standard. There was hardly any paneer in palak paneer. Most curries were watery. Desert was fine, the gulab jamun and Kheer tasted fine. The owner of the restaurant was rude. I think this place is surviving only because there aren't many options in Dover.
Good food n decent portions ... good veg options as well to soothe your palettes ! Service is pretty fast in spite of the rush n the hours of service .... liquor shop next to it gives an option for distance drivers to collect the Booz next door ! Cozy n fulfilling a place overall :)
Friendly and professional service with attentive waiters and neat, clean surroundings. I've enjoyed every minute there and the spicy cuisine was well prepared and tasty. "I'll be back."
Buffet was Excellent. Over 20 items to choose from and Naan Bread made fresh on request every time, for $9.90 buffet you can't go wrong. Ate so much that my stomach was hurting near explosion. Visiting from out of state.
I love the lunch buffet - tons of delicious options at a great price. Everything I have ordered off menu has also been very good. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
Just had lunch here with my husband, very disappointed. We have eaten Indian food all over Delaware including in the home's of many Indian friends. I'm not sure where all the people giving these great reviews have eaten but i can tell you there are far better places then here. I found it to be missing that beautiful Indian flavor we love so much along with no heat at all.... Save your money
Always good. Love the buffet. Very reasonably priced. Only wish they were closer to us, but worth the 30 minute drive.
Had the lunch buffet and everything was delicious. Only $10 too. Chai tea was awesome. Great little place. The Indian pop music playing in the background was funny (in a good way).
Good food, weird service. Probably better as takeout.
Goid food and clean
Great!! Highly recommend!
Great tasting food.
Delicious food great service!!!
We eat here often and love it. This is easily the best pace in town to get Indian. The owner is very polite and goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommended.
Good food and service.
Bland. It smells great but the smell doesn't translate to the flavor. The curries were flat and didn't have any flavor, the rice was over cooked and my utensils had dried bits of food on it. The next set of utensils they brought me were also dirty.
Excellent! Food and service was amazing.
The buffet is good.
Staff was not welcoming. To sign the receipt I was looking for pen. He pointed his finger towards the pen. Which is weird. Vegan food taste is better than non-veg.
As a long-time fan, this restaurant has never let me down. The lunch buffet has a great selection and the dinner menu provides all the flavor combinations you could hope for.
I went for Sunday buffet. Decent Indian food. It was flavorful, but not spicy. I loved that you could make your own chaat. The chicken mahkani was good. I really liked their cabbage. Naan is cooked fresh and brought to your table with the buffet purchase.
Hands down, the best Indian restaurant on the Eastern Shore!
Great staff and excellent food. Be careful when ordering spicier dishes, they really will make it as hot as you can handle.
Love the food
The food is delicious and the bread is amazing!! Very affordable prices.
Excellent service and food. I like to try a different dish each time and it is quality food. Amazing each and every time. Very filling too. The meat is so tender and cooked beautifully. The rice is aromatic and spiced. It's perfect.
Not authentic Indian food. My idea of curry is not frozen vegetables in heavy cream and burnt spinach does not equal palak paneer. You cannot call yourself and Indian restaurant if you cannot even properly cook rice. To make it even worse the server was extremely rude.
Best Indian food in Delaware! Consistently good experience every time we go here, just wish it wasn't so far from home!
Quick and good
We love to eat here. I've had better Indian in other states but this is the BEST you will get here. I like the buffet and the tea is wonderful. They are very nice but short staffed. Patience and kindness from you the customer goes a long way. A dining experience not for needy people. They allow you an intimate dining experience. Take out it great as well!
Nondescript location in a highway strip mall..don't let it fool you. I steer clear of buffets as I don't know how long the food has been out. Ordered off the dinner menu, lamb in a spicy (they can gauge to your taste) tomato cream sauce. It was wonderful. Perfect size chunks of tender lamb and fresh piping hot naan. My companion had shrimp in a saffron sauce he thought was out of this world. Dinner/drinks for 2 around $50.00. I loved it, we are going back this week.
They put cow pee in their food
My family and I eat here frequently! Delicious lunch/dinner buffet. Plenty of flavor in a cozy restaurant.
Good flavors BUT... too $$$ for the amount of food that you get. They are stingy with their portions. Yeah sure you do the buffet but even that, you get more sauce than meat. If you have time to spare, take a day trip and include Indian cuisine along the way. But if you don't have that time and just have to have it now, then you're better off going to Kebab Korner.
Buffet is excellent, always good service!
The food was really good...all they need to is just improve their customer service a little more!!!
Always a great place for a sit down with the wife. Quiet and calm. Could use a better location and some sprucing up, but the food more than makes up for it.
Very good buffet lots of vegetarian food
This is the only restaurant I know of within a reasonable drive from Middletown that consistently scores 11 on a scale from 1 to 10. Enough said, and enjoy...
My fiance and I come here every time we are in town. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. If you're worried about trying something new try the chicken marsala. You will not be disappointed!
Stopped on way home to Maryland after searching for ethnic foods near Dover. Had the lunch buffet, and the food is delicious. Highly recommended. Staff attentive and friendly. Prices very reasonable. Even my 2 picky kids enjoyed their lunch.
Wonderful food
We always have lunch at Flavor of India when we can. It's considered the best south Asian/ Indian food in Dover. We love the buffet, Naan, mixed pickle, Tikka masala, tandoori chiken, Chana and other traditional dishes. There is always a friendly crowd and staff is exceptional and welcoming.
Absolutely love this place! Excellent customer service & the food is delicious!! I personally love the chicken tiki Marsala (spicy) with extra rice & Nan bread!
Flavor of India is nice to visit if you want something special, though not at the level of Indian/Pakistani food you'd find in DC, for example. It's pleasantly decorated, and the buffet is a very good value: lots of choice for either vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Two small comments: not very spicy if you are a spice fan and the buffet is not super warm, so if you like hot temperature food, order from the kitchen. The naan comes in plain or garlic flavor and is very good. You can have chai tea or mango drink and there is always a kheer rice pudding dessert or fruit salad.
I have never been fond of Indian food, nor have I ever had a positive experience at Indian restaurants because the flavor wasnt good. But after trying this place, my opinion has changed. The food was amazing!!! I would def recommend to anyone who's new to indian food to try this place. The vegetarian options were amazing too. Food was flavorful and spicy enough for my liking. Really great place.
Great place to eat... REALLY good food wonderful people. Your choice of spice level.
This place has great Indian food for a great price. This is the first Indian restaurant I've been to that has a buffet line. I feel like I've missed out by not knowing this was here! 10/10 will return again!
I've only been here for the lunch buffet. But it's awesome, so I do it all the time! The food is delicious. I don't know much about Indian cuisine, so I just get a little of everything. I've never been let down.
Excellent buffet and service. Food is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
If you like Indian food, the lunch buffet is great.
Been here twice for the buffet and the food was the same, no change and not more choices. The food wasn't spicy at all. People expect the food to be spicy if it an Indian restaurant. The staff were polite and good. This restaurant has lot of awards, don't know why?
My experience at flavor of India has been extremely awful. I am quite familiar with Indian food, so I thought this would be the perfect place to eat at. (I was so wrong!) Me and a friend, entered the restaurant and were standing for about 5 minutes and weren’t greeted or seated by any of the workers. Two workers actually walked by us and didn’t say a word. That’s when we decided to seat ourselves. As soon as we sat down, a worker moved the table utenciles at the table WE WERE SITTING AT, to a completely different table. It almost seemed as the waiter did not want us there. That’s when the waiter asked us are we dinning in or out with an attitude...???? If we wanted to dine in how could we, now that you’ve moved all of our plates and eating utenciles???? Didn’t feel welcomed, totally poor service. My friend and I felt totally disrespected, as young college students. I was really excited to eat from here, but after my experience I will tell you, we will never be back.
Great first time experience. Curry chicken is a must try.
We see our dentist every 6 months in Dover. Without fail we always plan our appointments so that we can enjoy the fantastic buffet at Flavor of India. Great choices, flavor, quality at at $9.95 weekdays and $10.95 weekends it is a great value too.
I have went to many Indian restaurants. Flavor of India is the worst “ Indian food” The food is not well cooked and the staff is not friendly
the food was really good. my dad and I both love to meet there and get lunch or dinner and catch up now that I live a ways away.
Great food, great value, and great service
I'm never disappointed with the food. Always delicious.
Worst worst restaurant service ever. Neplali guy working gives 0 damn about customers and cashier is even worse. Go for Pizza instead this kind of restaurant
Nice food but less # of staffs
I love Indian food. This place did not disappoint. Our server was polite, food was hot and amazing. The lamb was so tender. So many flavors in each bite. It wasn't packed during a weeknight, which was nice. Recommend to people looking for Indian food or those wanting to try it.
We had the buffet, menu items may be prepared a bit differently. The food was good in general but not the best Indian I've eaten. The curry was a bit bland but most of the rest was pretty good. Went with 4 stars rather than 3 because the price was very reasonable.
Great food
Great food every time!
Good selection of Indian food. Nice place to meet friends
Great food as always
Every time I've eaten here, the food and service was always on point. Some single orders are enough for two people. Definitely worth it.
None of the food in the buffet was tasty. Service was terrible.
Their buffet has a nice selection. Fresh food and naan is very good. I had gotten things off the menu and that was great too.
Excellent food.
Food was awesome...Service was excellent!
Great food and a good variety.
Pathetic food in the name Of Indian cuisine
Don't let the exterior fool you. This place has amazing food and attentive service!
Good food
Small, quiet, glass front with no view on a very accessible but shoddy part of town. Why 5 stars? It's some of the best, most genuine Tandoori you'll find in a 100 mile radius. Get a half tray to go and you're set for the week! There isn't a lot of quality restaurants in Dover, but this one of the few.
