It is a little pricey but the ambiance is nice and we need that in the community. I got there to meet with clients and writing projects! The food is good, I like the little French words on the wall and in the menu. It is a very nice, and simple menu!
Small quaint coffee and pastery place in quiet area. Parking can get tricky but other than that nice local place.
Fabulous French patisserie in Forty Acres neighborhood. Sublime breakfast, great service and local feel.
Fresh, local sourced, breakfast and lunch food with a French twist. They make their own bread and magnificent pastries to accompany your espresso. Owners and staff are talented, personable and very good at what they do. Come to Wilmington - come to De la Coeur!
The coffee was excellent
I was there on a Saturday that have french toast with Nutella. I said no I would like just a french toast they did make it for me. So I came back on a Monday coz I really had desire for French toast this time they made it. everything was good so I wanted to let you know that why couldn't they prepare it that day? The only reason why I'll give you five stars. It's because of the woman who was there on Monday was really good she said no problem.
Great food, great coffee and great atmosphere!
Highly recommend this amazing place! Beautiful food, service and quality. Lee, the waiter, was super friendly and lovely. Enjoy!
The food is great, lattes are wonderful and the fresh bread is to die for. I love how fresh everything is. There is one guy that is always the first person I see when i walk in the door and is consistently a friendly and helpful face!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. I had the sweet crepes with strawberries and toasted almonds, a snickerdoodle and a vanilla macchiato in the edible cup. Absolutely fabulous, and very filling. My guy had the breakfast sandwich which was also very filling, he barely ate half. Can't wait to try them again!
Menu is small, but everything I've ever gotten there has been high quality. Excellent little breakfast spot.
So delicious!
Love this place! Perfect coffee and breakfast. Bread is delicious. Adam is friendly and keeps the flow going! Sometimes there is a wait, but it is worth it.
This is one of those places with an extremely limited menu so that they can make every single item on it perfect. And that works for me. Every dish they make is good as hell. You should definitely go it's very comfortable it's very welcoming it's very comforting
Food good
Highly recommended. Small place, small menu, great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious meals and pastries.
Best omelette I've ever had! Will definitely be back!
Stopped by out of curiosity with my cousin wanting to experience something local and different from the norms in our last day in Wilmington before flying back to Salt Lake City, the food was amazing! The salads ingredients, different varieties was crisply fresh, blended well deliciously with the drizzled dressing. We also had veggie quiche and grilled cheese that disappeared off our plates too! Hot chocolate that tasted heavenly, best I have ever tasted! And couldn't leave without tasting the Pastries, loved the cookies and raspberry filled bar, but surprisingly my favorite was a breakfast bar full of nuts and fruits, you have to try it, it's so good! We loved this place, truly a meal made with love !
Great breakfast, great food, very nice staff!! I go there a few times a week for breakfast, haven't had lunch yet, but everything is delicious.
I adore this place. If I'm in Wilmington on a weekend, its my first thing I must do after getting a shower. I've never had anything I didn't rave about later. The house made poptarts, are incredible. If they have them, buy one.
A cute little place and the staff was very friendly. Excellent breakfast spot.
This place is a hidden gem. My wife and I felt like we were transported to a cafe in Paris.
Excellent hot chocolate, made from scratch. I also recommend their fresh made croissants. A little pricey, but worth it to me.
Valentine's day dinner not that great onion soup was poorly done rest of the meal was just ok. On a bright note the wines paired with the meal were excellent.
Great food and talented people... Love the pastries!
This little corner cafe is a delightful delicious reminder of Paris, pastries are top notch. Service is excellent. Too bad its so tiny usually one must wait for a table BUT always worth the wait❤️
Great place to have a breakfast and chat. The service was friendly and the food was cooked perfectly and had an excellent presentation. Coffe was very good too.
Really good breakfast. The place is always busy. I would definitely go back.
Pretty nice small spot in Trolley Square. I've had their coffee (cafe au lait/americano), Hash and Prosciutto Toast, and baked goods, and everything was excellent. Seating for maybe 20 people, so I suggest calling ahead to see if there is a wait.
The food was really good and a lot of good "I wouldn't make this at home" options. Gruyère and cream cheese grilled cheese with caramelized onions and herbs-bangin!
Good food, cute bistro, small inside, but cozy.
I’m so in love the atmosphere! Had a cappuccino, which was perfection, along with their salad and sandwich. The food was amazing! To top it all off, my mother and I were given a sample of their hot chocolate...no words...just...no words.
Great pastry and crepe. Good atmosphere. The latte wasn't spot on but I'm willing to give them another shot. Attentive service and nice location. Walking distance from Delaware art museum.
Great atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive. A little small but gives it a very cozy feel. Food came out very quick and was delish!!!
Delicious food. Great staff. It's a nice, quaint breakfast/brunch cafe. Remember that it's a cafe, not a restaurant. Don't go in a big party because it's a lot smaller than you would expect. Nothing wrong with that though, the bakery is magnificent, food is tasty, and overall very nice place.
Nice cafe, inviting atmosphere and great coffee
Nice spot for lunch. Excellent sandwiches and the pastries are awesome. A bit small inside but they have tables out as well.
Great place! Almost feels like being in Paris. Very friendly service.
A cozy and intimate cafe with delicious, and sometimes unique, foods. Being in a small corner location, the staff provide quick and efficient service while being readily available when needed. Clean, well lit, and comfortably decorated to be inviting. A menu board allows you to choose your meal options without the clutter of a paper menu or needing the server to repeat themselves. Definitely worth going out of your way for a fine meal with a friend or two.
Very good service. Best breakfast I've had in Wilmington.
Best coffee shop EVER!!! Their lattes are amazing and their food is even better!! My day isn't the same if I miss coming here in the morning. If you like high class espresso and delicious, fresh baked pastries, this is the place for you!
Any rating less than a 5 would not do justice. The baguette was just right for sandwich, the French toast had just the right sweet for my taste and the machiato was soulful. The corner location was perfect for half a day of work.
I've been here at least 5 times by now I love it here!! The food is fantastic! The service is great!! I've never been able to resist taking home some pastries which have always been out of this world!! Hands down my favorite place to eat!!
We enjoy the selection of pastries available in this restaurant. I particularly like the savory choices. The cafe has a feel of a French locale. Tables are close to each other but it is a cozy feel.
The best hot cocoa from Texas to Delaware
At the edge of a quiet Wilmington neighborhood block, it felt like stepping on to a French street somewhere in France. Amidst the sounds of conversations coffee machine kitchen plates it makes for an out of a book experience of what having breakfast on Sunday morning in a French village could be like.
OMG, I cannot say enough positive things about this place. The food is delicious, staff is friendly, pleasant atmosphere. Totally positive experience! Show up early for the best selection of menu items
Great food and friendly staff. Perfect spot to sit outside for brunch.
I might be biased, but amazing coffee, food, and bread!
Fantastic breakfast in a great neighborhood.
If it is sunny outside, there is more seating! The staff has always been friendly and accommodating regarding my dietary restrictions. I usually get an omelette with veggies and sub the potatoes for a salad. No one makes me feel awkward, or bats an eye when I ask for dietary accommodations. The space is cozy and elegant. Perfect for a brunch with an out of town guest or two. I would not recommend taking a large group to this establishment, as the seating is limited, and most tables accommodate four people tops. The Delaware Art Museum is a short walk away, and Rockford Park is also nearby.
Had a delicious lunch al fresco today at De la Coeur. We had ham and brie on a baguette. Delicious.
The owners are very kind. The chocolate chip cookies were probably the best cookies I've ever had. My boss had their apple pie and said its amazing also. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about everyone's experiences. Plus they decorated the inside so tastefully and cute!!
High quality foods. Excellent service
Took me too long to find this gem. Delicious lattes & the proscuitto toast is a must try.
Great food, great people and always consistent. Come for an amazing croissant or crepe for breakfast, and then come back again for lunch! Be on the lookout for special dinners that are offered in summer and now fall - this is a really special and intimate experience not to be missed.
Food is delicious. Service is great.
I came here recently and ordered the breakfast sandwich on a French baguette..I received my meal on sliced multi grain bread. I immediately questioned the server and was told they ran out of baguettes. Why didn’t they tell me this, and ask if I’d like to order something else? I called twice this week to ask the owner to return my call because i had a poor experience... no one returned my call.
Calm and cute atmosphere. Delicious bread products and a little modern twist on some breakfast favorites. Quality cup of coffee. Fresh food! Indoor and Cafe style seating. Overall good quality food and a great atmosphere.
Overall great food and atmosphere. I only have 3 stars bc the one time I went to sit down and eat there my order was lost (?) and we waited there for an hour and a half. Service was great and will update rating when I visit again bc I know some places have bad days. Expect a wait if you go after 9. Parking can be difficult. Update: Went a second time and it was great. No lost order, no crazy wait. What a difference a different day can make.
Lovely cafe with beautifully prepared and delicious food. Me shipmate friends and I came for brunch in honor of our dearly departed Ed. The coffee was excellent, and the food was superb. I had the savory crepes which were delightful.
Very delicious! I got lucky on a Monday it wasnt busy at all. The place is small! There are 6 tables but outside seating as well. The menu is on the wall which It is a cute idea, just not very practical. That's just my personal opinion. I do like that it doesnt waste paper but u r like staring at someone's table sooo that's uncomfortable for everyone involved
Breakfast sandwich was great and croissants were out of this world! Will be back again... SOON!
My all time favorite place for breakfast, worth the wait if there is one.
Love this place Best breakfast you can get
Worst Place! Horrible Owners! Disgusting.
Amazing food, and great staff. They have been so kind to me during my visit.
perfect neighborhood establishment. limited size, but that's fine. healthy food, fresh ingredients, unique combinations. And the baked goods!
Great food. Friendly staff. I highly recommend.
Fantastic food. True bistro atmosphere.
Nice place. Good coffee and selection of food. Some healthy selections too. Street parking
I'm biased because this is my friend's restaurant. However the food is delicious. Everything is made daily, in-house from fresh ingredients. Many ingredients are organic or local. The food is crafted with love. The sitting area is quaint and fills up quickly. Items are pricey, but quality food and service makes it worthwhile.
Great service, great food and you can sit outside and just relax.
One one...DELISH! Super cute location, small and quaint. Staff are very friendly. I'll be back to try everything on the menu.
A gem of Wilmington. A must for couples or any brunch enthusiast. The wait can be a bit frustrating, but it's always worth it.
This is a hidden gem in Wilmington. The food, bakery items, desserts and coffee are all excellent. The staff is very friendly. Will be back!
Great coffee and bakery products....
Amazing service and food with great ambiance. Thanks for the treat!
Food is delicious for a nice breakfast. Staff is friendly, chai latte are tasty. Expect to wait for a table, but outside seating is first come first serve!
Simply a fantastic hidden gem.
Went for breakfast today around 9 AM and sat inside because all tables outside were taken. The inside had a few customers who were finishing up their breakfast. We ordered our coffee and breakfast. Got our coffee within minutes, waited for 45 minutes after ordering and no breakfast. Finally got fed up, paid for our drinks and left (and she tried to charge us for the food we never received). Found out that the kitchen was really backed up. Our server never advised us there would be this long of a wait, nor did she stop by and tell us the kitchen was backed up. When we finally asked, she said the food was coming up, we left five minutes after that. I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant, but we won't be going back until we see they fixed this problem. It's a shame, their food is good.
This place is adorable. The food and coffee are amazing and so is the service! I can't wait to go back!
Good food and pastries, but the wait will be longer than they say by a half hour. They have no rules as to how long patrons can stay, so they can’t guarantee you a table with any certainty.
Very small, but helps to make it a great date spot. They have espresso in little muffin cups that is a neat idea
Good food and value for money. Lovely area around the Restaurant, and well worth the walk around the neighborhood. Place can get busy for brunch, and there may be a wait. Try and get a table outside, if you get there early. The food isn’t French by any stretch, it’s more middle-America brunch than anything. The service is efficient but not attentive (in that, they get the French experience spot on). Overall a great place for brunch.
Favorite place for breakfast in Trolley. Delicious, fresh meals. Amazing pastries. Small, cozy atmosphere. Even when there's a wait, they keep things moving fast.
When you walk into a restaurant with a large group, you might expect them to be excited because of the business walking in the door. De La Coeur Café et Pâtisserie greeted us with the words “is that a joke?” No it’s not, but your professionalism is. Never coming again.
Original review: "Way too crowded and overpriced. " Thanks for the reply below. It's not just Easter, you guys are packed in the dead of winter! Need a bigger Lovering Ave. venue. When we can get past the lines and stand eat, the food is great! (Upping you a star). PS - glad you closed Silverside. That was a half-hearted attempt at best.
Really have no complaints about this place. Small, cozy setting with a menu that changes every week. Food is really good. Pastries are great. Prices are low for the area. Just a really high quality place to eat.
Only got a cup of coffee, but it's a cute little place and the staff was friendly.
One of my favorite place to get breakfast and brunch. The food taste delicious with nice ambience. They have friendly staff too . Must recommend this place if you love food .
We come all the way from Newark to enjoy this Cafe! Excellent food, top quality, friendly service. We love the small, changing menu and the delicious, fresh baked goods. Happy to recommend!
One of my favorite places! Low key, great food! Let's not forget about their AMAZING pastries. Food comes out quickly, service is wonderful and when it's not too hot outside, I enjoy sitting in their patio. Lastly, get their early on the weekends.
Delicious food in a cute little cafe. Try the edible espresso cups!
Good food. Nice little corner place
Great little place with a small but excellent menu. There can be a bit of a wait since there are not many tables.
Never a disappointing visit. Great food, great coffee, and my favorite: pastries! Good atmosphere too!
One of my happy place in Wilmington. I go there quite often and love their food. I had the hash bowl for the first time today. And they were very accommodating about making a simple crepe with just sugar and lemon juice. It's crepe day in my country and I like simple crepe. Their onion and goat cheese tart is also delicious. I do not drink coffee but my friend really like his coffee. Also I love the fact they use Duralex glass, you can find "your age" at the bottom :) The place is small but perfect for tiny folks like me. We need more place with this spirit in this city.
