REVIEWS OF Creperie Beau Monde & L'Etage IN Delaware

John Edler

It is a charming place with nice atmosphere. However the food was very disappointing ☹️. Dinner for two cost 126.00 consisting of 2 drinks, a lousy pate for two with a pound of pickles and olives, a steak for me, a appetizer snails for my wife, and a dessert crepe we split which was missing a three dollar charge for caromel ice cream.

Shreya Gandhy

Very delish little spot with awesome vegetarian choices for crepes. We went savory but noticed many people come in for dessert crepes and drinks. Appetizer crepe pizza was quite delicious- think super thin crust! Would definitely go back!

Abdullah Benjamin

Very good crepes. Nice, friendly staff. Worth the visit.

Olivier Fleischmann

Worse bar ever! There was an issue with my bill, they charged me for drinks that I didn't take. I complained politely and the security guy came to tell me to stop if I wanted to stay. In sum I paid 3 times what I had to pay and they refused to give me back my customer bill. Don't go there !

Andrew Brader

Consistently good with a wide variety of ingredients. You could easily never have the crepe twice.

JD Thomas

Wonderful food as always, and excellent service. I brought family from out of the area and they loved it. My nephew says he just had the best burger of his life.

Lynnie Donald

They need a fryer. You cant say French without french fries...pomme de Terre frites!

Anita Racela

A okay!

Kendra Stillwell

Warm, cozy atmosphere. Delicious crepes! Can't wait to go back!!!

Greg Avakian

The most delicious and authentic crepes between NYC and DC (Yes I've eaten in France and Montreal). The bar has a great selection of wine and craft beers. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet casual -comfortable really. Upstairs the club is beautiful. It's called l'etage. The words that come to mind are luscious and plush; understated Elegance but in a way that is old and not trying so damn hard. I love it here.

Talitha Pass

I use to love this place. Today, the chicken taste process. And the shrimp seafood had no taste.

Josep Valls

Good service in a nice setting. Unfortunately when we visited there were some big groups that made it very noisy. The crepe options are varied and you can always build your own but I found them a little overpriced. If you are hungry, definitely go for their burger.

Being my first time at such an establishment that specializes in crepes I found it disappointing. Although the waitress was nice the service was slow. I don't know how to judge the taste of the crepe since I have no base evidence to compare it to. And maybe it's my ignorance that I did not know or how to.properly order a crepe but I found it simply not appetizing. My partner ordered the $16 dollar burger and although ok, it was simply a burger that cost $13 dollars too much. With all that being said the atmosphere was pleasing with a cozy fireplace. The waitress was friendly. But I don't think I'll be returning...perhaps I may just not be a fan of French food or $16 dollar burgers. Three stars for atmosphere.

Some of the best crepes I've ever eaten. I love this place!

Delicious!

Emily McKenzie

Incredible food!! Lovely service

L'etage = "the floor" in French. The name definitely fits this place. Bring your A game and those sweet sweet moves. This place is located in the Bella Vista area of Philadelphia, and caters to a flurry of different crowds, so it'll …

I came at 3pm on a December afternoon. sat outside and enjoyed a delicious crepe. nice, quiet neighborhood crêperie. quick, kind service. best crêpe I've had in the U.S.

Greg Bem

Fantastic service. Very pricey but definitely the best savory crepe I have had.

Second time. Wonderful outing as always. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We stayed for hours talking. Our waitress was very accommodating and helped a couple outside get into their car to the applause of the diners. 10/10 would recommend and dine again.

Dre Knight

Excellent spot for date night! Love the various style crepes..

fanny allender

Love going there on a cold afternoon, sit by the fire place and have a Nutella crepe with a Capuccino! Excellent crepes and great atmosphere

Arnav Jhamb

I came here for a Dine & Discover event with my college. It was truly an amazing experience for a person trying crepes for the first time

Anh Renner

Kind of a cool place that is a little of of the way in a busy part of the city. Went on a brief date a while back. Enjoyed the food and whatnot, but found the service to be a bit lacking and the prices high. I know the other reviews are pretty solid, but I find that there are other options in the area who offer more for less.

arun ramakrishnan

Incredible foods. Great ambience. Nice variety of crepes. Service was a little slow at first. But once we got our orders in, everything was stellar. Parking could be tricky in the city streets. Come early. Almost perfect.

Amber Burgess

love the staff, the food, the non alcoholic spritzers and the whole atmosphere

Nita Scott

Excellent and friendly service! The crepes we had were delicious. It was my first time visiting and I love love loved it!! Definitely returning!

D Russo

Nice atmosphere. Crepes are good, but overpriced. They are just crepes - Parisian street food. For a better deal and just as good go to So Crepe.

Jaime Young-Spencer

Went there for a drag burlesque show, didn't get anything to eat because I dont eat crepes but the drinks were A1 and surprisingly cheap.

Daniel Jafari

Busy, but pleasant. Try bloody orange mimosas. Definitely add lemon sorbet to your crepe.

Family Gamer Review

Great food, show is fantastic with great preformers.

Juan L Navia

Good good, good wine, great ambiance.

Ellie Roseman

Yes it was a good experience, however expected prices to be more real than inflated :( The crepes were good and overall good experience.

For my entree I went with the house recommended Chicken, Cheddar and Broccolli crepe. I have to agree with a lot of what Jeff has already said about the presentation, atmosphere, and food of Beau Monde. The presentation of the crepes is very impressive. Each crepe is neatly served as a clean little pillow of deliciousness. I was also very happy with both the interior and outdoor patio at Beau Monde which very accurately captures the feel of the Brasseries of France and Paris. Let's get back to the food. Beau Monde had everything going for it prior to my sampling of the chicken in my crepe. Don't get me wrong, the crepe was very delicious and the creamy cheese sauce was a delectable highlight, but as I chewed the chicken I was a little miffed. The sauces of the savory crepe really help disguise the rubbery diced chicken used in the crepe...I had to verify my suspicions by eating the plain piece of chicken (Beau Monde places your prime ingredients in the middle of the crepe to identify the dishes) on top of my crepe. So ultimately I was very let down by the quality and freshness of the slaughter. For my dessert crepe, I went with a daily special of peaches and cream cheese. The dessert crepe didn't disappoint in any way, shape or form. The peaches were incredibly fresh and the cream cheese/sauce blend kept the crepe from being uber sweet. The dessert crepe definitely delivered. All in all, Beau Monde is a very authentic French creperie. As with most creperies, the dessert is better than the meal. I am definitely curious to see if the meat of other crepes is of a superior quality to the chicken. Despite the lack of quality meats, Beau Monde oozes quality, presentation, atmosphere and service.

I’ve ordered a gluten free crepe there and halfway through it when the server checked on me I asked what they used because it didn’t look like buckwheat only to find out it was not gluten free. I’m on my way to urgent care and they hardly apologized. Will absolutely never be back. I am editing after I saw the response from the business owner. As indicated in the review, I DID order gluten free. And the waiter agreed, repeated, then told me to get lost after making me sick.

Josiah Nedd

Maybe it was a mistake to go for dinner; I know they do great brunch, but dinner was very dissappointing. Service was great, but the food was super-meh. Scallops, tuna, and shrimp on the salad we're overcooked, bao buns were dry & seemed store-bought or old, and the crepe special was uninsipred. Olives were amazing though.

Nick Cooke

Love this place, food is excellent

Susan Maren

Excellent food and service. Delicious crepes!

Michael Walsh

this booshie-boho crepe place is the perfect blend of delicious food, comfortable surroundings, and priceless people. from the foodies to the hipsters, the tables are always packed for brunch. remember to bring your appetite so you can try both the sweet and savory crepes.

Rachel Romma

Decent food but a bit overpriced. Some menu items are better than others. I usually really like their salads and soups. The cheese plate, while beautiful, was seriously lacking -- uninteresting cheeses and no other accoutrement but fruit. Love the fireplace. Service is always friendly.

Don Brovero

This was a great find. Food was excellent, a very tasty Bloody Mary, very friendly wait staff and the price was very reasonable. Plus they have inside and outside seating.

KD Flora

Go to place to feel festive and well cared for. Delicious food. Friendliest service. Great neighbors. Family friendly. Consistently palette pleasing!!

John Forstmeier

I've only been to L'etage but it was kinda weird. The bartenders/bouncers didn't do anything to break up a fight that we ended up stepping into to break it up instead. I'd like to check out the restaurant though.

According to Dana

Creperie Beau Monde is most definitely the best French restaurants in Queen Village. I’ve come here on my own and with family and have been more than pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere every single time. While Beau Monde offers other entrees aside from crepes, the crepes are the main attraction and it stands to reason why that is the case—there are a multitude of crepe combinations on the menu, both sweet and savory, though I love having the freedom to create my own. If I’m in the mood for something sweet, I usually go for a custom-crafted caramel, apple, and banana crepe; if I’m craving something more savory, I usually opt for grilled chicken, mushrooms and Swiss cheese in a buckwheat crepe. I’ve also seen multiple shows at L’Etage, the upstairs cabaret-style performance space featuring a full bar, great bartenders (Leslie and Ryan are the best!), and the same incredible menu as is served downstairs. Prices are a tad higher than what I’m accustomed to, but for the quality of food and level of service, it’s well worth it.

Came here for our 2 year anniversary. Good was delicious, and creative, played beautifully. Very good service, chef came out to greet each table individually. Truly one of the best meals I've ever had, highly recommend it.

Deanna Koklamo

Came here with friends Friday and Saturday nights tend to have better djs playing top hits and good music to dance to. Attracts an ample crowd but dance floor is still spacious enough to dance in. There's seating on the side and bar towards front. I dont go out much but this is definitely one of the better places in Philly I think

Good time spirit great

One of my fav spots for french food. looking forward to returning with my friends. this place has a cool feel to it. similar to a cafe in las vegas i loved.

Roman Kverel

After years of coming here, I've realized that I never told the world about it.... This is the best most delicious place for crepes and drinks! THE BEST! and I actually drive from NYC to Philly for their food!

Timothy Toler

I love it here! Not only is the food fabulous, but so are the staff. Everyone with whom I have interacted have been fabulous an I really enjoy everytime I come... which is quite frequently! Fave spot in South Philly!!

Mindy P

I've gone to both Beau Monde and L'Etage and both are great atmospheres. I've held birthday celebrations at L'Etage which is always a great time. I highly suggest going on Friday nights when they have an awesome DJ Muhammad there djing. I even held my mother's celebration of life at L'Etage and they really helped and worked things out for me in a difficult time. It's always a pleasure. As a regular, the bartenders even know how I take my favorite drink! I highly suggest for any occasion!

Susan Harner

We are lucky enough to have this as our local go-to spot, and we are never disappointed. When friends and family come in from outside the city, they often request that we go to Beau Monde, and we honestly don't mind going again, and again, and again. Really, everything is on point. The owners and staff are so friendly, not at all stuffy. The food, of course, is fantastic. Not only should you come here for wonderful crepes, but everything else on the menu shines as well. On a personal note, we're thrilled they finally put the steak frites on the menu (it was a much-loved special). I know I'm gushing, but honestly, if you haven't been here, give it a try. Whether you come for lunch with the kids, dinner with friends, or late night dessert with a date, you can't go wrong at Beau Monde.

Brian Rozzelle

Very disappointed. You would think on a $111.51 bill for three people, no alcohol, you would walk out of there full. Well you would be wrong. The dishes taste great but the portions suck. I got the beef bourgeoisie our something like that. Barely any beef at all. Mostly carrots. The dish cost $24. This is one place I would probably not return to. Especially with all the other great places to eat in the area.

Amber Drewry

My experience here wasn't the best. I started off with the French onion soup which was lacking flavor. I then had the Coq Au Vin with swiss crepe which was bland. My husband had the pan-seared duck breast, brie & black mission fig crepe and he felt the brie didn't pair well with the duck and the fig jam didn't really pack the punch he was looking for. We ended up returning both. He then ordered the Andouille Sausage crepe which he enjoyed. I decided to try a sweet crepe instead of ordering another savory one. I chose the make my own option which the waitress decided to not write down and ended up coming back to the table to confirm my order which she still didn't write down. Needless to say my order was wrong but the ingredients that was correct made a pretty good dessert crepe. Overall the restaurant had a nice ambiance. It was a bit small inside but it wasn't too busy when we dined so it wasn't an issue but I can see how it can be. We would possibly return for the dessert crepes and to try the regular menu. However, it's nothing we're in a hurry to do.

Karl Botterbrodt

Always a great show at L'Etage with Martha Gramcracker. I mean, don't go. Too crowded, the regulars are crazy, and she's too good for your ears.

Fun atmosphere

Wife and I used to go there routinely when we were dating in Philadelphia. We moved away and while I was on a business trip I thought if bring back some of their pate as a surprise for the wife. I went in at 10am, and they were closed for renovations. Owner or chef was talking to me from the top of a ladder. I explained it was a surprise for my wife's birthday and he hopped off and told someone in the kitchen to get it together for me. They gave us a HUGE plate and they did it for free! So not only is the restaurant great, but the owners/staff are classy and super nice. We're headed up there next weekend, and I can't wait. Great place!

Marc Opper

Great crepes and great service.

Claire Seroskie

A lovely French-inspired crepe restaurant that needs an update. A bit worn looking.

Aurora Morales

I definitely loved it!!! I ordered the Chicken with broccoli and cheese, it was very tasty. Also the Chicken with pesto sauce was delicious. If you prefer the sweet ones, I would definitely recommend the Mixed Berries with lemon gelato or the Nutella with Dulce de Leche and Hazelnut Gelato.

Ethan Knox

Food is excellent, but they have a serious sound environment problem. Even when the place is nearly empty it is painfully loud, most likely because there are few 'soft' surfaces and a metal ceiling. They really need to look into sound deadening like Frieda in old City does - each table has sound deadening cushions under them, and when it's packed we can still hear each other whisper.

Jeffrey MacManiman

The crepes were amazing! Had one sweet and one savory. A little pricey, but well worth it if you're looking for a memorable meal without a high-class atmosphere.

Ryan Lynn

Really cool spot on Bainbridge for crepes and drinks. Amy our bartender was super friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered a fig based gin drink that was amazing! They have a huge variety of crepes, you’ll definitely find one that …

M. Bosi

Took a while to get a drink, not much room to stand.

Todd Michels

Small and quaint. Amazing food and even better drinks. What else is there to say.

Daniel Wilder

Love the food, good service

Rasheed Gray

Both the food and the service were phenomenal. We will be going

Steven Brescia

A bit pricey but not prohibitive. Food was excellent. You like darkly lit establishments with attentive wait staff? Then this is for you.

Joseph Pilkus

Great experience...delicious food and wonderful service by Derrick!

Mark DeSouza

This is a true Philadelphia institution. In a foodie city where you have to be awesome just to survive, BM passes the test year in and year out. If you really want to show out of towners what the Philly food scene is about bring them here.

Genae Felix

Everything was perfect!!!

Jim Parmiter

Got the Frommage plate and it was well worth it!

Dennis J. Duran

Very reach menu with many choices. They do, however, have a suggested brunch items card on your table as well. I had the shrimp and they were plentiful and delicious. This was our first time dining here but I will be coming back

Susan Bonfiglio

Love the food.

Alex F

Love this place. Best crepes I've had in Philadelphia. Their shrimp crepe is excellent. Their desert crepes are great as well.

Tal Laufer

Awesome food

Yoshita Patel

Delicious food, delightful decor, and great selection for vegetarians. Both sweet and savory crepes are wonderful - they really hit the spot for brunch lovers with all of the selections. Thanks for some great food memories from Philadelphia!

Rick Byrne

Food was excellent, service was good and the place is cozy

Daniel Kraus

Best creperie in Philly

Rob McCarter

A very pleasant and relaxed place for an early brunch on a Saturday morning. A local had suggested this place the night before, and I am very glad they did. The crepes were tasty, the salad fresh, and the coffee strong.

lisa m

The special scallop crepe was awesome!

Matt Moran

Waiter (tall skinny white guy with ponytail) hand-wrote with pen on our bill "Gratuity 20%" and totaled it in to our final cost. (April 7) There were 6 of us in total. I've experienced restaurants charging automatic gratuity, but elsewhere it has always been printed on the bill and/or menu, not scrawled on the bill in pen last minute. Also, it's usually for party of 8 or more and usually 18% gratuity. BOYCOTT Beau Monde until they fire him. His service was really bad too, and we were a very civil bunch. Con artist. The food is overpriced and just decent. The coffee and cocktails are superb.

Jessika Gagnon

The food and service were excellent!!

Linda Flynn

Found this hidden gem and it is a treasure. The food is excellent and the drinks are great especially enjoying the warmth of the fireplace. It wS lovely.

Inna A

The food is wonderful and the cocktails are always perfect! Always love coming here

Lloyd Dickelman

Went here for V-day...food was awesome..biggest crepes we have ever had. Definitely recommend

Karl Hunter

Fantastic food , and great venue upstairs! Love going to see Martha Graham Cracker! I wish they offered dinner / show packages. I'd definitely purchase one where we could eat downstairs before the show, and have a reserved seating section upstairs. Right now I line up early to get a table so I can eat, but I dont get nearly as much food or drink as I would normality eat if I were sitting at a proper table.
