This location is inferior to the other Chaiyo location. Food portion was a fraction of a normal entree. Drunken noodles were overly sweet. Waitress asked to take away the dessert menu after ordering (close to closing time I suppose). Not a positive experience.

Heard this place was good but was actually awful for us. The crunchy shrimp roll was just a gooshy mystery meat little fish in all rolls and the deep fried rolls that were supposed to be hot were ice cold.

This is one of the best places for sushi in the Dover area, and if not interested in sushi, they have plenty of other dishes that are delicious. The staff are always kind and helpful, and overall make for an excellent experience. Even during the week they really work hard to get people in and out in a reasonable fashion for lunch which makes a difference when coming during your lunch break. A few times now I have been with large gatherings and they have always been more than accommodating. Keep up the great work!

Finally! A good sushi restaurant in Delaware!!! My husband and I have lived in several big cities and we're so depressed by the lacking restaurant scene here in Delaware. The service is always polite and friendly though sometimes slow or seemingly overwhelmed. We find the prices mostly fair considering the quality and lack of any true local competition. We have be eating here pretty much once a week since we discovered it! I don't recommend ordering and of the specialty rolls though, for the price they are small and a bit underwhelming, you get a lot more bang for your buck with the simpler stuff like the sake-don or basic rolls. (Order two and you get free soup and salad) If you are coming on a "date night" be prepared to wait and have slow service though, we now avoid going on Fridays and Saturdays.

Chicken Pad Thai lunch had a nice variety of component and everything came out hot and fresh. Try the bang bang shrimp appetizer! Easy online ordering through Yelp! Easy to order online. There’s a large selection of appetizers, sushi, and traditional Thai food. I ordered Pad Thai, Tom Kha Soup, and an Atlantic Roll. Total was 23.10 with tip. I wish they had some dessert options though like Mango Sticky Rice.

Eaten here 3-4 times now. Service is pretty good and has gotten progressively better. The food is good but we did not like their vegetable tempura, that's about my only complaint. It's nice to have a decent sushi place nearby. Also looks like it has a pretty good bar area. Would be a good place to get drinks and beer.

The food was delicious. The drunken noodles and the pad woonsen were flavorful. The pork was cooked so that it was not too tough to chew. The Delaware sushi roll was prepared perfectly. The lump crab meat on top was delicious. The roll was a bit bland compared to what I was expecting. I would have preferred a little more Old Bay. However, that doesn't stop me from recommending the roll or from ordering it again.

I was highly surprised by this restaurant! I highly suggest if you are in the mood for sushi. I happened to spot this from the road and saw the reviews were positive and I am glad I stopped. I highly suggest the smoked salmon dip! The sushi roll I had was also fantastic. Would certainly eat here again!

Takeout here is great. They're always ready when you arrive and make sure you have everything you need. On more than one occasion, I've been seated in the dining area during lunch and not been greeted for over ten minutes. For this reason, I usually only do takeout from the route 10 location.

We were in Dover for a brief visit and stumbled upon this place. What a great surprise! The food was delicious and modestly priced and the restaurant was clean. It's tough to find good Thai and sushi in Delaware, and Chaiyo went above and beyond what I expected from a strip mall restaurant. If you're in the area I highly recommend taking some time to check this place out.

Absolutely great food. Me and my wife we in town for 5 days and we came here 3 times. And it got better each time. Drunken noodles were amazing, and the red curry was great. Spicy tuna tempura roll was the first spicy tuna I've had that actually had some kick to it and it was fantastic.

Service is great and the food is fantastic. If you haven't tried the fried twinkies I HIGHLY recommend it. I'm not a big fan of twinkies myself but these don't really taste like twinkies to me. I haven't tried anything on the menu that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. It's good both as a casual place as well as a date night kind of thing.

The girl who sat us was very friendly however, the waitress that we had was not friendly and she cut me off as I was ordering. Had an early dinner in this restaurant last week and was ecstatic on the quality and taste of the food. I haven't had sushi or Thai since I was last in New York about three months ago. I was wondering if there was a decent sushi restaurant in Dover snd fortunately there is. We had several rolls, fried shumai, seafood salad and Pad Thai all of which were delicious and served by warm and friendly staff. I cant wait to go back.

Chaiyo is a new Thai restaurant in Dover. The sashimi here is cut perfectly and the rolls are well wrapped and taste fantastic! They offer dining in and taking out. There is a great selection of authentic Thai cuisine including curries and noodles. The sushi and sashimi are close to, if not, the best in town. The restaurant itself is comfortable, clean, and quiet with a relaxing ambiance. There's a dining area in the back of the restaurant that seats about 20, a dining area in the front next to the bar, and a bar that seats about 10-15. The staff are all exceptionally friendly. The restaurant offers a membership program that rewards patrons with deserts after a set amount of visits. I believe this is a must-try restaurant in the area!

Chai yo is a little hidden gem in a strip mall, Upon entering was greeted and seated, great selection of sushi available, my entree of Basil Fried Rice with shrimp was delicious. .need a few more than the 7 shrimp presented in my dish. Fried spring roll ,I thought they would be fresh ,also had a fried dish of mashed potatoes with octopus which was a bit tough. I would visit again and try something different.

I had the Drunken Noodle "lunch box" which is a spicy noodle with chicken. It came with miso soup, lettuce with dressing, rice, and 2 egg rolls and sauce. Reasonably priced and tasty. Service was good as well. Wait times were a little long for lunch but to be fair it's not a fast food restaurant.

Compared to Rice (the typical suggestion for sushi), there's PLENTY of space and the staff was almost too friendly that I grew curiously suspicious. I was just not used to the positivity and niceness that service in the USA (in general) blatantly lacks. They even offered me a hot towel off a silver platter. In Bumfck, Delaware?! Unheard of!

Really hope that the manager reads this We live in Dover, love Thai & this place is near to us n that’s the only reason we went there But every time, it was a disappointment (abt 6 times, thinkng that we will enjoy this time) Their food Amt is very minimal even Dinner time & even if u order 3 dishes, it doesn’t fill u up. Mostly places give free refill of rice specially dinner but this place gives u a small portion first time wth ur entree & then charge $2 for a small bowl. Once, we told them mild or medium spice level but the food was so hot n we couldn’t even finish n our money was a waste Today was the EXTREME / we picked out carryout of ‘tofu wth cashew curry’ n wen we opened the bag after coming home, there was NO Rice AND secondly, It was the WRONG DISH (they gave chicken instead of tofu & I am a vegetarian) So my husband went back to get New one. wen the new one came, it had no gravy / sauce to eat wth rice And the tofu pieces were so small that I was so angry. Looks like, this place is trying to save money on every small thing Not going back again, wasted enough money.

In a local area mall, this is a great find. I had the spicy volcano roll and the one with crab, both very good. Enjoyed the salad with the ginger dressing, a nice way to start. The miso soup was ok, not my favorite. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful. The mango sticky rice was a nice finish, love the extra coconut milk at the base of the dish. All parts of the meal were great, I will be back when in the area.

I recommend either place to everyone!! I haven't been to the Wilmington location, but am sure it's just as good. I have never had a bad meal at both locations on RT 8 and Rt 10. I've known Jeff for a few years and am happy to see him thriving and creating delicious food!! Sushi is always on point. The Thai dishes are yummy. There's always a roll special and 1-2 special entrees. They have take out, too. The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean. Sometimes, some servers are not attentive - but most of them are great! If you haven't been, then go by and check it out!!

I love Chaiyo, we go every Friday! Food is ALWAYS delicious!! Staff is always nice!! You get free desserts after your 5th check in! Highly reccomend the sweet thsi chili wings, bang bang shrimp, crab ragoons, seaweed salad, spring rolls, philly tempura roll, dragon roll, lady gaga roll, California roll, pad wonsoon pretty much everything! Food is always consistent!

It seems that my experience changes every time. The first time I came the food was good. The second time I decided to get takeout and the same rolls I ordered before weren't even made the same and I got less than I did before. This time I decided to give it one last chance and definitely my last the rolls again were different then the first time and the service was completely slow with a half empty restaurant. Not to mention the meal was completely wrong that I ordered for my son and instead of just fixing it they tried to push what the cook had made. It's obvious why I ordered specifically what he wanted because he won't eat certain things. Well then they said if I wanted it to be what I originally ordered I would have to pay an extra $2.00. Also as I sit here for the past 20 mins I still have not seen the server to even get any refills. I will definitely say Rice is a much better experience and for as many years that I have been going there it has never been this bad.

I was a local area resident of an affluent county in Maryland for 20+ years where Asian food was plentiful and as such fairly high caliber. After having moved to the Smyrna/Dover area I've been unable to find any place (Chinese/Thai/Japanese) that would live up to even a 3/5 star rating back where I grew up. Not only does Chaiyo beat any place I've tried in the last 3 years in Smyrna/Dover but the food quality and service is as good or better than even restaurants I would rate 5/5 back home. I Tried sushi, curry, Thai traditional and appetizers and everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

Great food except for you never know what to expect if your food is going to be really spicy or just a little bit spicy I feel like I order it the same all the time but the taste changes even though I'm ordering the same thing. But their food is definitely amazing the sweet chili wings are wonderful and spring rolls are amazing I come here for lunch a lot the only bad thing it's Under New Management and when they first got there the service seemed to get a little slower. But still an amazing restaurant.

Located inside a strip mall, this brand new restaurant has a modern decor with friendly service. There was something cold and icy about the ambiance here that I didn't like. Sashimi was fresh and delicious. Sushi is something that everyone likes a different way. Personally, I like sushi with sauces and a lot of flavor, the sushi here lacked those qualities.

Ordered take out this week....No chopsticks, no napkins, etc. Our order was for two people and all sushi was put in one container with only one container of soy (which, I’m sorry, it was kind of gross sharing). Sushi presentation was on-point, flavor, not so much. Fish tasted at least a day old, spicy salmon was horrid (finely ground, not diced like I am accustomed to) and seemed to be mixed with caviar (yuck). Overall very dissatisfied and will stick to my go-to in Newark or Yukon in Dover.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, even when they're not the ones serving you. The atmosphere is clean, open, and comfortable. They have a good variety of foods and deals, and all of their food and drinks taste fantastic. The only thing keeping them from a five-star is how my stomach reacted to their sushi. But otherwise, they were perfect.

Love Chaiyo and have NEVER had a bad meal but last night was rather diappointing. We weren't offered the hot towels that we usually receive - maybe they cut this out now. I ordered my normal meal, Mixed Vegetables and extra vegetables as my meat - what I got was half the serving of vegetables than everyone else's meal. I inquired to the waitress to see if I got the extra vegetables and she said I did and nothing she could do - she could have brought me extra vegetables. The brown sauce was also overly sweet - very different taste than in my past meals. The meals have definitely been downsized - not as much as usual. They were also out of my favorite dessert - the salted caramel cheesecake. I'll be back because we love Chaiyo's but last night was a definite disappointment.

Chaiyo has delicious food, great service, excellent prices, and they maintain a very clean kitchen. My boyfriend and I have dined in and and ordered take out, and the service was fast, and it's such a good value. For about $30 we were able to have 2 rolls each (which came with salad and miso soup), split an order of dumplings and a dessert. I'm usually wary of low prices when it comes to sushi, but I was so impressed with Chaiyo. Also, my boyfriend has a soy allergy, but loves sushi, so we gave Chaiyo a shot (with benadryl on hand), and he did not have any allergic reaction whatsoever! The server told us that anything fried would have soybean oil, so we avoided that, but he was able to eat everything he ordered, which says a lot to me about how clean their kitchen is. I would recommend Chaiyo to anyone!

Great place, fish cut fresh that day. Sit at bar to watch the sushi chef's at work. Good knife skills with clean cuts makes for nice presentation. Friendly atmosphere with knowledgeable staff. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family. Nice little gem hidden in a strip mall.

Stopped by with my kids and enjoyed the “Delaware Crab Roll” The “Delaware Roll” and the Crab Tempura Roll from Chaiyo was perfect! The “Delaware Roll” is “Tempura Crab Stick, avocado, topped with lump crab, old bay, mayo, then torched”!
