You have the feddbacks of people like you who purchased the services of Bawarchi Indian Restaurant (Restaurant) near to the state of Delaware.
At present the business has a score of 3.8 out of 5 and that score is based on 409 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is very good, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we can be pretty sure that the evaluation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Indian restaurant.
I know really great Indian food and while this one wasnt horrible it just really lacked flavor. The garlic nan bread is pretty good but the curry chicken for me needed more taste and spices. I guess i wanted more authenticity the mango lassi was a bit sour. I guess because they used to much plain yogurt I like mine more smoother and sweet.
If you’re looking for an authentically ran Indian food restaurant this is your spot! Has all of the bold spices you’re looking in Indian food that kick you right in the mouth
Awesome food! Some of my favorites - Chicken boneless biriyani, Masala fried fish and spinach rice, madurai malli dosa and many more. Great flavors and friendly staff. Try it yourself.
Better for South Indian food
Food taste is delicious . Yummy goat Curry and naan perfect goes ! Their dosa is my fav , will dine soon again to try other dishes they have .
Very low-key restaurant, but the food was amazing! Very fresh and tasty. Will come here again.
Small tucked away place. This is not part of the Bawarchi chain however the food here is excellent! This is more of a take out joint and less of a dine in. you can dine in if you are a bunch of friends who dont mind self serving. Biriyanis are excellent. Chicken 555 is a good appetizer
Food quality is very good.
Good quality Indian food. Its a little tucked away and not the prettiest place, but if you're in Wilmington it's the best authentic Indian you'll find.
Very friendly staff and good customer service. Ordrs get delivered on time. One of the best restaurants with very delicious menu and spicy levels are delivered according to customers request. I would say its a high school for all tummies
I haven't hadd much Indian food in my lifetime and really don't have anything to compare it to, but everything sure tasted delicious to me. Service was great!
Their Chole Bhatura & Paper masala Dosa is really good. Mango Lassi is fantastic.
Best biryani in town. Their north indian subjis are tasty too.
Great food and awesome lunch combo
Thay are racist.... I don't know how do people eat there.if employees and customers were racisting together other countries people who are not from India.. Siriusly... It's disgusting.
Worst customer service like their food , I wish I could rate 0 stars for this
ZERO STAR!!!!!!!! Stopped by on Tuesday while traveling and let's just say it was such a STUPID IDEA! When we came in it was empty and nobody sat us down or gave us menus. We were waiting to be served and not one of the staff let us know it was self service because they were horse-playing (The girl in the front was fooling around with the other staff). VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Firstly, this is an Indian restaurant, if you are self serve, you should let customers know. Secondly, restaurant staff should be able to guide customers on the menu options, so why would you work here if you have no knowledge nor the ability to guide your customers through menu options? Thirdly, this is a workplace, not a playground, so rather than being high schoolers, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER and take the job seriously as you represent not only yourselves but your company. TERRIBLE SERVICE, WILL NOT RECOMMEND to anyone.
Delicious menu ,,, spicy level were very accurate and flovorful,, so many dishes ,,my special was Tandoori chicken and Goat curry with Garlic Naan ,, great experience thanks guys keep it up
Please do not order any biryani...taste was really worst.
It's ok not bad!! I like their goat biryani!!
Yummy Indian food
The place is good for takeout. Eat in not recommended. The food is okay but they have the best Chicken Biryani I have tasted.
Egg fried rice, cut mirchi , samosa and chola batura is ok and even ordinary not so special.
Great food. My friends from AP assure me that this is the best Indian food in Delaware. I can't say if this is true or not but it certainly is delicious.
Excellent food priced right. Expect a wait if you don't call ahead. Eat in or take away, small dining area.
What's the heck biryani sufficient for just a small kid.. it's wasting the money 10.99$ ..quantity and tasty disappointed Lott..
rating 00000000... Please do not go . Hygenie sucks... you will find flies in your food. I have showed the proof of it to the owner, you know his reply like he does not care about it and saying " its common here and we are trying our best to deal with it" lol !!!!!!
Great Indian food!!
Great spot for lunch. Huge portions for what you pay.
Love the chicken biryani. A bit of a hole-in-the-wall location, but the food is amazing and that's all that matters.
Very nice food
Amazing food. One of the best most authentic Indian food restaurant.
Nice Indian restaurant on 202 highway!!
A decent Indian food in my locality. Awesome curries. Biryani could be better. Overall I enjoy this place.
Tasty biriyani
Good quality taste food
Nice place and good food
First appearances aren't everything thankfully as the food makes up for any aesthetic deficiencies. I walked into a small, empty space with 2 people sleeping with their heads down on 2 separate tables. One might have worked there, the second... I can only hope he was their delivery guy. Ultimately though the (takeout) meal was full of authentic flavor in a generous portion, and we will definitely be back.
Good food. very reasonable.
Authentic and delicious! It's a great little hole in the wall!
Best Indian food in Delaware area... All South Indian dishes are good.. I will recommend this place for food... again all staffs are kind to all customers..
The highest quality indian food I've found in the area. Sure the hardware is not as fancy as the others, but the rose favored mango lassi and tasty naan (without the down pour of butter) will keep your attention on the food.
Cozy, classy, perfect dishes, warm staff.
Un professional, poor service, food was average. I would not recommend.
We order chicken biryani and chilly chicken it was literally with no salt and no taste. End of lunch felt like I can make even better in home.
Have been to this restaurant aweek ago. Food is delicious. Loved chicken 555, chole batura , goat sukka and Biryani's are excellent. Must try restaurant.
I’ve passed by this place many times but never stopped in. I went with a friend the other night and it was a really nice experience. We chose to eat in but you can order take out. You order at the register and pay when you are done eating. You get your own silverware, plate if you want it and napkins. There is also water for free with cups available. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan. The food was hot and tasty and was brought out to us the n a tray. You can also get lids, aluminum foil and a bag if you don’t finish everything and you also get free food if you pay with cash. Overall, this place is cute, not expensive and worth a try.
My first 5 star Indian restaurant. The place reminds me chai place in old city. Very nice environment and yummy food. Unlike other Indian restaurant the restrooms are very clean.
Authentic Indian Cuisine offering both vegetarian and non vegetarian platers. No buffet option. Customers just order their food at the cashier and then take a seat in one of their sit down tables. It is, apparently, a well known place in the local Indian community judging from the number of patrons of Indian origin who were dining with us at the time. There are 5-6 parking spots along the side restsurant There is however, a free street parking available. The food is freshly made and the portions are generous. The food seems to be just a bit spicier than other Indian Cuisines in the area which makes the food taste more authentic.
Very good food, it's fresh and the customer service is great. The specials are awesome. I also tried the chicken korma and it was amazing! I highly recommend. The spice is hot but not inedible. Just ask for ledd spice if you can't handle. Best place in delaware for Indian food and great prices.
I am from Virginia, i tried many places for best dum biryani, but i never had good one till today. Finally i found best place to have dum biryani and i will visit again i will try other stuff too, you guys are best
The lunch specials are great. Saag chicken and chicken kadai are my favorites. My coworkers enjoy the vegetarian specials.
Good South Indian restaurant. I ordered masala dosa and it was excellent. I specifically loved the red chutney. it's a self service here so you order and wait for the food to get ready and they will call you to self serve. I also ordered the veg fried rice but it was okay.
Authentic food! Lamb biryani is best.
Very bad food. Not worth the high price. Lunch for $9.00 a person but no service and poor flavor.
No freshness innthe food.Hospitality was worst.
Nice small place with good tasty food.
Quick service. Very tasty food.
Great tastw. Awesome food.
Try chilli fish with spinach rice
Ordered Gobi 65, Majestic chicken and boneless chicken biryani. Food was very bland, tasteless!! Will not return again.
My GO-TO Indian spot! Amazing food every visit, great customer service! Never fail my taste buds. ❤ keep up the great job!
One of the best biryani around. They also run specials monday through friday. Dine-in area is small and can be improved.
Not very clean. Seems good for take out, not for dine in. Food is tasty though.
Neighborhood authentic indian resturant. Excellent food and flavors at a great price. Great to grab to go. Also some tables to sit and eat while enjoying a Bollywood movie.
Hotel name was impressive not food except biriyani !!
This is a what they serve you, so beware people. Look before you eat
Please don’t serve the leftover food! We ordered the chicken biryani, chicken lollipop and Sesame chicken to go. They served us the previous left over chicken biryani (stale). Chicken lollipop wasn’t cooked all the way and it’s greasy. Sesame chicken was good and kids liked it.
Its tasty but too oily food
Excellent food
Good food. Decent price. Takeout friendly. I like the Rava Dosa. Biriyani is good but it slightly different some days, decent price and spiced well most of the time. The brat thing is they are open throughout the day. Chai is good too.
Best chicken tiki masala!! You can tell it's made fresh to order, so give them 20/30 minutes. It'll be worth the short wait!!
Food was not like expected
Nice place and they consistently serve tasty Indian food. Their Biryanies are awesome. I made party orders many times and they always exceeded my expectations serving fresh, authentic and tasty food.
First time here and i will definetly come back. #delish
If you are looking for fresh indian dhaba style food , This is the place for you . Amazing food and best indian restaurant in Delaware . Great ambience and you can literally smell the freshness in all the dishes . Andhra Chicken and chicken biryani are my favorites. There are very few Indian restaurants in US that serves fresh food , bawarchi is one of them .
I guess Biriyanis are cooked once a week and served the whole week, so, there is a fair chance the food you buy is days old if not weeks, when customers place order the food is only heated and served. All the time I had food here it was substandard. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Ok
Very very poor taste. Rama Rama
This place started out good but now is shabby and dirty. The owners should pay attention to cleanliness in and around the kitchen. The floors are slippery, the restrooms are usually dirty. Even though I like their food a lot but I don't think I can go back. Unfortunate given that Wilmington doesn't have any other good India food joints
Caution! Food Poison This place served tasty food earlier, so I went recently with that previous impressions. But it is completely nasty now. I ordered a chicken rice and that's all. Food poison and fell ill for 4 continuous days. Nothing more required to elaborate how bad this place is. If you want to spend $s to eat nasty food, this is the first place. Stay away, Stay safe. Added on 09/11/2019: Unable to respond to your reply. Appreciate your response to the feedback. I have ordered chicken fried rice and chole bhature. Both of the items weren’t well cooked. The given chicken was very deeply fried and almost lost all tracks to recognize that it was actually chicken. And the spice was very raw and didn’t cook well, same complaint for chole bhature too. Anyways, we wouldn’t visit again; at least hoping that this would help you to treat other people well.
Great authentic Indian food. Loved their briyani's ..
Awesome chicken biryani
Made me wait forever....
Jun 2 2019 lunch with SVP. Had Chola bhatura, masala dosa and uttapam family style. The food tasted good. The cashier was nice, self-service. The place is cozy with simple appearances. Recommended for spicy food lovers.
Horrible food. The biryani was so bad. Totally cold, undercooked rice. Never going back
Ordered paneer dopyaza and got Kadai paneer at a higher price. Though Kadai paneer is not even close to what it should be. Ordered Kadai paneer last week and didn’t like the taste, so ordered paneer do pyaza. It is the same food at a higher price in a different bowl.
Do yourself a favor and go here when you are craving Indian food! You will be missing out otherwise.... Sweet staff, great food, big portions, clean inside
we eat here regularly the food is always delicious, the restaurant itself isn't great for sit down (not a lot of tables) but great for take away and always friendly staff makes it a great lunch or dinner option
Best Indian in Wilmington - try the butter chicken!
Go for Take Out, not sit down service. Chicken Biryani was freshly made and worth the extra long wait (it's rice!). Prices are fair with hefty portions.
Food is very delicious. I will definitely go here again.
Awesome food
I lived in India for 2 years, this is the best Indian food since I've been back in the USA.
Good tasty food. I like the spicy taste.
My trip to east cost wouldn't have been complete, without tasting the delicious chicken biryani here. Thanks to my friend, dheeraj singh, for recommending this place. Best biryani in the east, hands down. **Jai Balayya**
One of the best indian restaurants in the area. Great depth of flavor in all the dishes I have tried.
Not the best but good for some items
Went there with family for dining. Pretty good experience overall. Found preparation authentic, less spicy. We ordered masala dosa and other south indian dishes. Will definitely visit again
Very good place to have Indian food. The curries do taste Indian. Chicken Biryani is a must have. I have ordered twice and it was spot on taste both the time. Chhole bhature is my second best to have here. Keep it up guys. Best wishes.
Food was really tasty. Had fish with mint rice. Tasted awesome. Friendly staff
Awesome Food
Nice and cosy place. Food is good too
If you love Indian food, this is the place for you. This is our go to Indian restaurant. Friendly staff, authentic flavors, and authentic atmosphere. Everything we've eaten here has always been fresh and delicious. You have the choice of mild or spicy, which is perfect. Note: If you like Indian portions of rice, order a side of rice.
Good food and average priced
Amazing food. Great takeout joint but not a chic restaurant for dine in. Their tandoori chicken is too good. Comes across hardly any Indian restaurants in us making it that good! Suggestion: Could improve the dine in.
I tried non veg curries and biryanis. They are all good and very tasty. It's good for take outs and do not expect any ambience. I think the prices are reasonable.
Food is alright had some good and bad experiences with food being way over cooked and the curry being way to runny. Also small portions especially for carry out with such a little amount of rice. Price is too high compared to what you get.. Still not a bad recommendation if you are in the area.
Had a nice veg biryani after long time. Food is good. Small place, good for a carry out rather Dine. Needs to be more hygiene.
Best lamb Sukha ever!
Spicy food for Hyderabad style food.
I went to Bawarchi a few days ago with couple of other friends and the food was awesome! I felt the service was great too, everyone was fast, pleasant, and always had smiles on their faces. Our food came out at a decent amount of time. This my second visit to Bawarchi after 3 months of first visit. Their customer service is better this time but has to improve. Overall I would defiantly recommend this as the best Indian food in the area!! Well done Bawarchi!
Food was great. But very disappointed with the hospitality. We entered the restaurant at 9:15 pm but was denied dine in and was told that though the restaurant closes at 10 pm they won't let us dine in and can give only to go. They saw that there were two pregnant women and a kid with us and I explained that our home is a hour drive from there and yet they denied for no reason. I had to drive back to home and make everyone eat. Very disappointed Update: Their hospitality is very well improved & the staff is friendly. Increasing my ratings
Ok, but not enough tables to sit. Cant call it a restaurant. Good for casual lunch. Better to take away.
Tasty food always! Best Indian food I’ve had by far...
we ordered biryani, it was very worst biryani I had in US. They won’t have spoons to server. I request you not even search in google.
Inside the place looks like a converted old pizza joint. The staff was confused with my order... But the food was good take out - they didn't supply utensils, so that was annoying.
On a level of 10. Taste - 7. Staff - 6. Cleanliness - 5. Service - 5.
I got a dinner take out the food was good but the price was to much for so little amount.
The food was AMAZING!! it made my house smell so good lol but it was extremely spicy
Never tasted such kind of
Good food, spices well used. Wished they could have also provide delivery of food
I am totallly disappointed with a to go order . Ordered Veg and got a non veg curry . Upon coming home we discovered it is non-veg as we are vegetarians . When I called them they said they are gonna reimburse me but never got the money back into my account . I don’t what should I call these guys liers or unprofessionally.
Now they are not taking to go orders after 8:30 pm. They don't even answer the call. Food is below par as compared to the likes of Hyderabadi House and Godavari. Will run until there is a competetion in the north Wilmington area. P.S: Please change your closing time to 9pm if you're not willing take an order
The uthappam ordered was burnt a little. Please take care not to burn it. Ghee dosa was good. Masala in dosa (both in rava and masala dosa) was little bland. All in all good experience. Thank you
The quantity they give is pretty good. I loved the goat biryani. Its authentic
Quality is going down fast....
Delicious food!!!Chicken biryani is heavenly..the best i had in US...Apetizers are amazing..must try!!
Ok ok place for dine in..may be take away
Amazing food! Chicken biryani is the best I tasted in the US. Must try!
Forget about the food, you guys have to add a tagline for the hours. The tagline would be if we have big party orders we will be closed. We drove all the way from Pennsylvania and they said they are closed at 6pm on Saturday evening. Bad attitude
Hole in the wall restaurant. Decent food. But filthy tables. Ok if you want take out. Had the chicken 65 and rava dosa. Dosa was nice and crispy. Chicken was so so.
This was my second visit for lunch. My first visit was very good for food and service. This visit, today, July 11,2016 was beyond excellent for service and food. A five star review is well deserved. If you want true Indian food, give Bawarchi a try you will not be disappointed. I will return soon
Food is great! But service can be spotty
Food is not tasty and special don’t try gobhi manchurian and Chole bhatoore
Bawarchi is indisputably the best Indian food in Delaware. On the other hand, the location/setting is probably the worst. However, the ambiance doesn't really distract from the delicious food and most order takeout anyhow. If you're non-veg I'd recommend the butter chicken with garlic naan and mango lassi.
Decent Indian Restaurant with great choice of food from 'South' India. Superb food, excellent quality and awesome hospitality. People over here are very friendly.
Fresh cooked naan & perfectly spiced sauces.
Love the food here. They serve the best veg./shirmp biryani in this area, kulcha is awesome.
Good food. Staff is also good
It's ok type of restaurant
Forget the ambience. Awesome food and quick service
Good food....avg ambience
Not just the best indian food I've EVER had, some of the best food I've ever eaten PERIOD!
Best thing to eat here is Chole Bhature..
The service was ok and if you've never had Indian food it's ok. If you have had Good Indian food before than this is just ok. I would only go back if my first choice wasn't available.
Amazing food- it's my favorite Indian place! The chicken bryani is savory and spicy and they always make it to the level of heat you ask for!
Great food and a great lunch deal
Great mutton biriyani! Very moist and flavorful. When you enter the restaurant, you need to go to a counter and order your food. It is not a full scale, serve you at your table restaurant. But the staff were friendly and we really liked the food. Chicken biriyani ( In my humble opinion Biriyani Pot ,Newark Ave, Jersey City, NJ had the best chicken biriyani ) was not the best but still Mutton Biriyani was clearly a winner. UPDATE: I see bunch of one liner, fake reviews about this place! This is still one our fave places!! Gobi Manjurian is so good, so as the Mutton Biriyani!!
Very bad, I ordered malai kofta and garlic naan. Naan is like slipper, my jaw was paining after eating the naan, food is not at all fresh, Kofta is full of onion smell, paneer balls taste very bad!! I would not recommend anyone unless they improve their service .
Small and cozy environment with lots of menu choices
Reached this place on my way driving back from atlanta. I ordered chole batura and schezwan fried rice. While chole batura was good, but really regreted the decision to order schezwan fried rice. As i tasted the first spoon i could sense that it was filled with red chilli powder and was so hot that i could not eat. I had mango lassi on one yand five cups of raita to try and eat the food, but i finally gave up. i was hungry and lost the apetite. have requested the guys to alert the customer henceforth. so guys if ugo to bawarchi ensure to let them know ur preference level of spice..... I gave three rating, because those guys realized that i was suffering and gave me raitha ( first time having fried rice with raitha) and one gulab jamun to comfort me....
Excellent Indian food, the first time my friend got chicken Biriyani and I got chicken tikka Masala super wow .. in the town great and excellent food
Love this place for Biryani and some North Indian meat dishes! Dosa can be hit or a miss. Chole Bhature is good too.
Nice food. Service can be better. Good for take away. Not good for dining.
Average food and below average service
One of the best Indian food restaurant!
