Absolutely AMAZING! The food was cooked perfectly and was some of the best we've ever eaten. Service was outstanding as well. Our server was Chris, he was extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. We can't wait to go back!

Joseph Moore

Solid food, but it’s not exactly inspired. A great place to entertain work colleagues or customers, for example, because the atmosphere is very nice and the food is approachable. But I’ve been multiple times, and there are always little gripes. Examples: The service seems to be highly dependent on the waiter you get. The restaurant is billed as “small plates”, but the plates for most dishes are quite large, better for a coursed meal; however, since the food comes out haphazardly, you sometimes find that there is literally no place to set your plate. Some cocktails are delicious, some are overpriced versions of very simple stand-bys. I’ve never had a bad meal, but it’s hard to give 4 or 5 stars when I continually think “this deserves to be just a little better.”

Herman Athias

The food was exceptional!!! Ryan our server did a great job. He explained everything to us.

Shuktara Sen

Great cocktails and food

Daniel Sharkey

Good pizzas

Tim Viola

Food and atmosphere--nailed it!

Dan Nevins

Great dinner of shared small plates for two. Service was spot on. Highly recommend.

Excellent customer service, comfortable atmosphere, love the decor and simplicity. Food is delicious! Modern Italian restaurant best eaten family style, nice to eat the wide variety of food on the menu. Love the eggplant parmesan and the pizza is thin and crisp. Drinks are made perfectly.

Robert Scheu

This was truly an amazing culinary experience. We came with a large party and the service was flawless. Our server was the best we have ever seen. We will certainly be back!

Amanda is awesome!!!! And Zack is great!!! The ambiance is gorgeous and lovely. I will return!

Joseph Drinkwater-Andrews

Really nice bar/restaurant, food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality and the service, our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and all of the serving staff were nice. If in Wilmington again, I would definitely return. Only minor negative, the AC was in full force, so I'd advise warm clothes

Bill Hafer

Very very good.

Travis Fogelman

Chase was our waiter, he was high energy and gave us great service. We got a bunch of small plates. Some of our favorites were the truffle toast, gnocchi and scallops. Love the decor and I like how the bar is separated from the main dining room to cut down on noise.

Tatiana Millan

Wow. The decor of the restaurant captures you as soon as you walk through the door. The bar aesthetics are superb. The mural wall, gorgeous. Looks to be a great place for a special event. Let's talk food. I dined with a friend and we were greeted by an extremely personable bartender, Bruce. He recommended the tuna tataki, upside down pizza, and bucatini pasta. We ordered all of those and the hummus. Thank you, Bruce! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was not a lacking in flavor by any means. The pizza was reminiscent of some I've had in Napoli. The hummus was smooth as ever and wonderfully seasoned. The tuna deserves its own paragraph. I am absolutely blown away. As someone who has been in the industry for 17 years I think this dish has to be top 3 seafood dishes of my life. The flavors are almost indescribable. Not only was the tuna fresh, the cucumbers were crisp, the passionfruit sauce balanced perfectly with the hint of spice of the crust on the tuna. What a medley of flavor. Such a simple dish yet each ingredient spoke for itself. Well done, chef. We also had some of the in house made limoncello. Amazing. I was unprepared for such an amazingly rich meal. Wow. You've exceeded standards of what gastronomy should be. I will absolutely be back.

Jamie Walls

Amazing food and drinks! I love that such a wonderful place has established itself in Wilmington.

Stephen Doggett

Lively atmosphere, but a limited menu. The night we were there it was packed and the service was strained but enthusiastic. Overall a great addition to Market Street. Hopefully they keep changing the menu so it doesn’t get stale.

Will Bradley

Amazing (and when I say amazing I mean it), amazing food here. All made from scratch so don’t come if you’re in a hurry, you can head to McDonald’s for fast food! Everything is so fresh and full of flavor. The pachheri was simply to die for. Price is fair, I honestly think they can charge a lot more for what they’re serving!

Jordan Barrett

The food and drinks here are absolutely superb. Perhaps my favorite dish is the charred octopus small plate. The missing star in my rating is due to the noise level. When I have been there, it has been so loud that I have to shout just to talk to the person across the table. I would likely dine here much more frequently were it not for this (and I'm a millennial!). They really should consider some noise abatement. One other tiny suggestion (this didn't detract from my rating at all): It would be a nice added bonus if the staff were trained to pronounce the Italian names on the menu correctly :)

Today I went in for the chicken cutlet sandwich. I saw it was the classic with broccoli rabe and provolone. Well I guess I missed the peppers part in the sandwich description. No, not long hots which can be an awesome accompaniment to these Italian masterpieces. Rather chef chose to add the peppadew, a sweet red cherry pepper born and raised in South Africa. It was a curve ball to me and totally turned the sandwich on it’s traditional head and spoiled it for me. The peppadew was diced into the melted cheese and could not be excised. Goodbye. The side of fries was inundated by salt. On a previous visit I got the tagliatelle with the lamb bolognese. It was very good. But why does it have to come topped with a huge melting dollop of goat cheese (herbed)? Why do these traditional comfort foods need to be defiled by such reckless adventurism? It’s a shame because I believe they have a good kitchen there. I do like the bread.

We ate dinner with a group of 10 people last night. The place was large with a rustic/industrial chic vibe and a large bar area with a cozy kitchen. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable in spite of a busy Friday service. We have dined all iver the world and I must say we were very impressed with the food and ambiance that seems almost out of place un market street but very welcome. We had almost every pasta dish in the menu but the standouts are the papardelle/gnocchi/monkfish and the cacio e peppe all of which were al dente and perfectly seasoned. The ear of the woods mushrooms were great. The pork belly was well prioned and succulent and the octopus was tender and well seasoned. The HIGHLIGHT was definitely the roasted sea bass which was perfectly roasted with a well seasoned crust. The rub eye was sous vid and roasted to a perfect mediym rare and sliced to serve. The porkchops were moist and well exccuted. Every dessert was excellent including the light panna cotta cheesecake..the tiramisu was unconventional but winderful..the chocolate tart was the wonderful BUT the winner was the pistachio ice cream which was really a gelato..it was BETTER than anything we have had in Italy! The cocktails were well executed. There was some hiccups in the pacing of the meal but there was really nothing negative about the dinner. The owner even asked us about our meal and he was very warm and appreciative.. After La Fia and Amuse (REhoboth) this is probably the BEST restaurant we have in the state! KUDOS to the chef..our very own Massimo Botura..

Something is wrong here. Made a reservation for 815 for my birthday. Walked in on time and went to the host stand told them who I was where I was told told it would be 30-45 min. Wait.. I have a reservation. I asked if that was typical and if that was acceptable here (no nasty tone) and she just stared at me. Mean while I'm seeing in busses high tops go un touched for 10-15 mon. Fast forward an HOUR they are seating walk-ins. My wife asked about the table and was told OUR table was still sitting and they only have 4 tops. You can seat a 2 top at a four top. Ive worked fine dining for a decade and never saw anything like this, maybe if the kitchen is completely crashed. Didnt seem to be the case. A reservation is a reservation, it does not matter how busy the place is. 5-10 min wait while you bus a table if perfectly fine but this blew my mind. Who I guess was foh manager seated us and when we went into the dining room low and behold there are Two 2-tops and three 4-tops empty... Chase, our server saved the day. On point and charismatic. From a culinary stand point the food was great. But I do feel you are being over charged for some dishes under the guise of being tapas. (Short rib pasta especially $18...really?) We didnt get out of there till 1130. I dont review much but the caliber this place is trying to be vs when we got really bothered me. Not sure if I'll go back, maybe in a year or so to see if the iron the wrinkles out. La fia, in my opinion is a better option down the street.

Place is great, food, drinks and all.

Been several times since they opened. We have tried 10+ dishes by now. Wonderful food. Portions small compared to Wilmington average. Busy on weekends, probably perfect for a special lunch. Pizza to-go is amazing!

Joseph Lavelle

Good meatballs appetizers . Did not care for main course. Noisy.

Better vibes than the photos imply! Went on a Friday night and it was fabulous. Plus the Main Street outside is beautiful. Go there for date night!

So, here's the thing about Bardea. It's an amazing restaurant. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding, and the attention to detail is absolutely top notch. On top of all of this, as if that isn't enough, every single person who works there goes our of their way to ensure that you have an amazing experience. Snapping a photo of their amazing wall mural? Someone may tell you the backstory of how the owners would FaceTime each other from Delaware to Italy all the time, and the wall in is based on the background in Italy from those calls. Ask about a menu item and you will get and in depth (but not overly wordy) description of what is in the fish and possible why it is on the menu. Have an event or something to celebrate? They will go out of their way to ensure it is memorable for you and that you feel like a celebrity. A lot of places can create good food. Bardea's food is so much better than good. Not a lot of places make you feel as welcomed or appreciated or as special as Bardea makes each dinner feel. Now, on to the food, just in case you were wondering and have actually read this far. Dinner 4/2019: We started out with their assaggi - or meat and cheese board. It was delicious, and the cheese has been different each time I've been. The accompanying olives are the perfect foil for the creamy cheeses and the ideally paired meats. During dinner I ordered the duck, while my husband ordered the spaghetti. The duck was asking the best I've ever had: rendered well, portioned wonderfully to be able to enjoy some of the other dishes and seasoned beautifully. I loved the added kumquats which made the dish bright. I added the root vegetable pave and it was one of my favorite parts of the meal. If you get a chance, ask how it's prepared because I couldn't possibly do it justice. The spaghetti bolognese with mint goat cheese is obviously crafted with love. Pastas are handmade here and you can tell. The sauce was filling and light at the same time. We ordered the tableside French press coffee and tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was presented by our waiter with a pour over sauce that I could have just drdru on its own. Lunch 4/2019: I dined here with a friend during their restaurant week, which was delicious. I'll be updating with photos and our order soon.

Small plates restaurant. Valet parking. Food was OK. Service was fair. I would only recommend this place to someone really into small plates.

Justin Koerner

A true crown jewel in the heart of downtown Wilmington. Upscale and professional looks meet mixology and savant talent for gourmet food . Efficient and knowledgeable staff make your dining or drinking experience one of a kind. Prices are fair and the setting is impressive. A modern twist on a refined idea. Bardea delivers a true goddess of food and drink retreat.

Kimberly Pasquale

Excellent Food and Very Nice People. Looking forward to going back.

Great atmosphere, food and service

Service bartender was hella rude. I asked for a very expensive shot and he sold me a shot that was lesser. I did not appreciate that at all. And i really don't understand why he would have said no. I still had my shot. When I asked for salt and lime or a chaser, he told me no and that it would ruin the shot. Dude was so rude. At first i was worried that the cold sore on his mouth would pop into my drink..but I didn't want to be rude! I will never come back. Update: So i went back. The service bar was better. The cold sore bartender was there. Seemed to be having a better night. Still don't like this place. Not a fan of the pizza, the sauce or marinara sauce taste funny. I've certainly had better.

craig mossinger

This restaurant certainly separates itself from its surrounding competitors. The quality of each and every dish was absolutely on par with similar dishes I've had in Europe. Tuna Tataki to start followed by the upside down pizza. I'll be sure to come back for dinner. We had Bruce as our bartender and I would highly suggest sitting at his bar. A+ experience

Earl Keiser

The staff really tends to their customers. They are so knowledgeable on the food that they are presenting to you. The Ambiance is perfect. Such a great atmosphere in what a wonderful town.

Lauren Huber

Best spot in Wilmington! The food is phenomenal, the staff is personable, and the drink selection is like nothing you will find in Wilmington. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out!

Todd Holtsberry

I very much enjoyed my dinner and service. I shared a charcuterie tray, lamb skewers, and pizza with a friend...as well as tiramisu and a French press for dessert.

Paula Rodriguez

Excellent place. Food was great and with high attention to detail. Nice mix of flavours and a great atmosphere! Highly recommend it!

Kerry Hollands

Fantastic food and attentive, friendly servers in a laid back but upscale atmosphere. We had the cheese and meat board, meatballs, gnocchi, mushrooms and chocolate torte and they were all delicious and beautifully presented. Portions and prices are reasonable too.

Darrielle Commodore

If you want a causal and relaxed atmosphere head here. Ask for Bruce P. the waiter and you will never be disappointed. Also, if Bruce P. is the bartender you will not be disappointed either. He takes his time and he has great recommendations when it comes to pairing wines with your dish of choice. My favorite dishes were the Calamari and the Upside Down Pizza for Lunch!!.. P.S The waiter Bruce is really tall you can’t miss him!!

The first time I went I loved it. The second time, not so much. Good to go with a group and share the plates. Don't think I will come back.

Kerri Poore

The best dining experience ever! Food was extremely delicious and unique. The lamb skewers were very tender and flavorful. The octopus was charred perfectly and the gnocchi were so delicious I can put into words! Our waiter, Jason, was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be returning soon.

Sydney Louise

The hostess, Juliette, was so lovely as she showed us to our table. Our server, Katie, was knowledgable and friendly as she led us through the menu. A series of small plates made for sharing, luxurious pastas, a section of thoughtfully done vegetables, and larger proteins options like whole chicken and ribeyes. YOU CAN GET A 60 OZ RIBEYE, Y'ALL. The cocktails are delicious, the wine list explores Italian varietals perfectly. Bruce, the sommelier, was incredibly helpful in helping us choose our beverages. We tried an orange pinot grigio for the first time - how unique! I was very impressed with the young man who cleared our table. Very efficient. Highly recommend! Definitely make a reservation, this place fills up fast!

Barbara Kelly

Always great food in a great atmosphere

Several trips later, I've found the small plates, pizzas, and the cocktails to be terrific. Looking forward to returning again.

A nice dinner spot in downtown Wilmington where the chef definitely knows what they are doing. We met some friends in at Bardea recently and found the cocktails to be professional and menu to be unique and tasty

Katherine Sanz

TLDR; One word. Mediocre. Best part of the meal was the Peroni. Honestly this is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to and I don’t say that lightly. I ordered the mista salad with chicken and the cacio e pepe bucatini. The mista salad was advertised as a mixed lettuce, marcona almonds, goat cheese, tomatoes, and shallot red wine vinaigrette. All I could taste was week old lettuce with imitation Parmesan cheese. The salad literally needed more dressing to cover the awful, sour taste. The cacio e pepe was okay. Not the best, not the worst. But definitely not good enough to make up for the awful food at an over exaggerated price point. The best thing about this meal was the peroni. Side note: the service was good. Food however was a different story.

Jon Howard

We had a great meal there. Very creative recipes. The prices were very reasonable. I’d return in a heartbeat. The pasta seemed freshly made, but a bit too ‘al dente’. Service was very friendly, though not as attentive as a restaurant of that caliber should have. One in our party was missing a fork, he’s no stranger to the finest restaurants. He did the “look up from the meal, make eye contact with an employee” routine. But after a full 3 minutes, it took a loud “excuse me” to get anyone’s attention. They weren’t sitting around gabbing with each other, but they should have a better eye for customer needs at times. These 2 things weren’t bad enough to deduct a star from my review though. I stand by my 5 stars. Raw tuna appetizer - 8/10 Gnocchi appetizer - 9/10 Cheese fries appetizer - 5/10 (fries too thin, became a bit hard) Upside down pizza - 9/10 Pasta with lamb, tomato sauce with mint goat cheese - 9/10 flavor, 5/10 for slightly undercooked pasta. I forget the 3rd entree. Dessert - cheese cake 10/10, mascarpone 10/10. Dear lord, get their mascarpone. Price for 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, 3 glasses of wine, a cocktail and a top-rail scotch, $125. I would have felt $200 to be completely fair.

Fantastic meal. We were a party of four. We ordered all small plates, snacks and a pizza. Everything was delicious. The tiramisu for dessert was one of the best I ever had. Don't miss this place. The owner we met, Scott, was a perfect host. He is super excited to be in Wilmington!

Great pizzas, great service

Sat at the bar and had a great meal and great service from Paul. Dayboat scallops and the paccheri were amazing. Great beer and wine, too. Will go again.

Echo Wu

A nice place for dinner. Pizza is excellent. It has great selection of modern and innovative Italian dishes. However some dishes were a bit too salty. I had Maitake mushroom broth and it was too salty to take on its own. The server and restaurant failed to remediate issue when I had it the second time. This is probably an area that it can use an improvement to make it a wonderful restaurant.

Gia North

Service wonderful, food devine

Josefina Jeker

Service was good, drinks were excellent and the food was delectable A great meal with great friends.

Tony Stewart

I would love to give more than three stars but when you go out to eat not expecting to spend 3.5 hours sitting and waiting for food..... overheard manager explain and comp some tables for desserts or apts, they were sat before some persons.

Lisa

What a huge disappointment. First the good...really aesthetically pleasing space, good looking menu and a truly lovely and engaging server (Amanda). But the bad, unfortunately outweighed the good to the point that this will be my first and last visit. We arrived around 2:45 on a Saturday and proceeded to order a couple of delicious cocktails, followed shortly but their meat and cheese board (also very good) as an appetizer. I’d explained to the server that I had a couple of allergies (including gluten) and she passed that on to the kitchen immediately with reassurances that there would be no issue with accommodating them. Fast forward 15 mins after receiving our app, and our server very apologetically informed us that the kitchen was closing for the transition to the dinner menu and would only be serving their pizzas (no gluten free option there)!!! Upon asking when they’d be returning, we were told it would be over an hour and 15 mins. Since I had planned on ordering their tuna tataki (all raw and requiring no cooking), we asked if she could check if they could please squeeze that in since we weren’t given any advanced notice that this would be happening. She came back a few minutes later to let us know that the kitchen refused. I was left unable to order anything else and my birthday lunch was cut severely short. I’m assuming that since we were just a 2-top and the only ones in the dining room, the kitchen simply didn’t concern themselves with our experience and whether we’d be returning. Having worked in both fine and casual dining, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anything like this. A truly bizarre and disappointing experience.

Mike Shannon

Great atmosphere, great service. The food is a little hit and miss. I had a great short rib entree with potatoes on the side to die for. The cheese board was very weak. Overall, worth a visit.

Lindsey Vernick

Best restaurant I have been to in a very long time. The pizza is amazing and so is the pasta. I was recently in Italy and I swear the pizza tastes the same (if not this was better). It is very trendy and has a center city feel to it. Perfect for any occasion. Service is amazing too! We never once had to wait to ask for something or wonder where our food or drinks were! Must try!!!!

Jason Fox

Wow, the service was the best I have had in such a long time. When a meal starts with a greeting and a nice overview if the menu it just sets things up for a good meal. Everything we had was tremendous. Hummus, pizza, pasta were good but the cauliflower really stole the prize believe it or not. Highly recommend this place.

John Ryan

Arriving a half block away we wondered why we were 2 cars back at a stop sign at the intersection infront of Bardea waiting for 3 minutes not moving. There was a large truck infront of us so we couldn't see what was going on. We soon realized it's because of the valet parking which is directly infront of the restaurant and a lady took awhile getting out of her car. It's a one way street. When we got infront of the restaurant nobody was there at valet so we put on our hazards and waited. A few seconds later we had people beeping behind us because it's a one way road. I didnt want to be the guy holding up a whole street like I just vented about earlier. So we made a circle and came back, luckily someone was there this time. It was $10. Now onto entering and dining. We tried about 6 different menu items. Oysters, Asparagus, Chicken, Lamb Skewers, Gnocchi etc. I had old fashioned drinks, the wife had a mixed drink. Every single thing we had was very good. I love going to a place and loving everything I had which is rare. Usually there's that one item that's below average. Not here. I will definitely be coming back here and will recommend to everyone I know.

Mike Waters

I don't know if I had an unusual experience here, but a friend and I came in after a show at The Grand. At first we we're told the kitchen was closed (it was just after 10PM), then the manager followed us out and said "if we ordered quickly", they could serve us - we decided to accept his offer. There was nothing awful about our meal, but it didn't knock me off my feet as I expected from a James Beard Award-nominated spot. The meatballs had very little flavor, and the octopus was undercooked. I will say the pizza was pretty good, but after a couple drinks each, our tab was just under $100, and I left underwhelmed. Again, I don't know if we caught them on an off night, but I expected more.

Jim Clevenger

Wow...loved the small plates! Very well done buildout of the space. I look forward to my next visit.

Audrey Forbes

Mind blown! This was one of the best restaurants iv been to. Drinks were super creative and tasty and the food was out of this world amazing! Every dish impressed and there was nothing we felt was sub par. The burrata toast and the seasonal mushroom dish were my favorite. We also had the ink pasta, lobster pasta, truffle pizza and they were all phenomenal. Thumbelina carrot dish was full of flavor! Thank you for a fantastic culinary experience Bardea!

Mariah Wells

Amazing food, excellent service -- highly recommend!

Mike Prince

Really great Italian food in the heart of Wilmington. I really loved the calamari and the pizza was definitely unique and delicious. Beautiful interior and a really great addition to the area.

Avalon Nielsen

If you are in Wilmington, go to Bardea. It feels like you are in Manhattan, New York, but in the middle of Delaware. The food is incredible and the cocktails are just as spectacular. The staff is very friendly and the service is top notch. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else.

Vahid Jahed

Good food. Nice and trendy decor. Downside is that it is loud even with half the tables empty.

Naomi Stump

HEAVEN or as others may ask for it, "Paccheri" (shortrib, caramelized sweet onions, provolone fondu). My husband had the buccatini which was delish but not as good as the Lamb Bolognese w/goat cheese. Added bonus for those that want it, free valet parking! Needless to say, second time in and it's our new favorite spot.. Food and service were PHENOMENAL!

Britney Walker

My husband and I decided to go to this very nicely built restaurant. The ambience was perfect. However, the food and service were extremely subpar. I understand that it was their first week of opening; however, this was inexcusable. The portion size was extremely small and the price, extremely high. We ordered 1 appetizer two drinks, and 1 entree to share. The food was at least 20 minutes late and we still got excuses from the manager himself. He was not being very thoughtful when he decided to explain the detailed facts of how long it takes to make the food and the time to serve it to us. They apparently were “making great time”. He did not give us any kind of discounted rate for our inconvenience. He tried to offer dessert (which he probably would have made us paid for). We paid the monstrous bill and were given an invitation to come back. To their credit, the bartenders were excellent. Overall, only come for a drink and leave.

Best restaurant in a long time in the US. Excellent pappardelle and pizza. Friendly staff.

Terry Hunt

Nice decor, comfortable seating set up, very hospitable staff and most importantly, excellent cuisine.

Carol Talamini

The place has a chic charm and nice decor. Open kitchen so you can see what's going on. Greeted at the door with a smile & guided to our seats. Server was polite & fully explained all the tasty dishes also helpful with the drink menu to compliment our meal. Food was served hot & delicious! There is also a bar area if you choose to dine there or just stop in for a drink. A really great place. Go, you will enjoy.

The impossible burger is incredible!

Really wanted to like it, but unfortunately my experience was the same as the other one star reviews. GM seemed disinterested in hearing constructive criticism. When pointing out the 15 minutes between the first and last entrees being served at the table, he only asked if the server explained the time needed to prepare one of the entrees - don't understand what difference that makes. When being served at a restaurant I expect the food to come out for the table at the same time. It shouldn't matter how long it takes to make one dish vs. another - that's the kitchen's worry, not mine.

Lorie Tudor

Great, enjoyed it. We shared plates so got to taste a lot of interesting & good food. Good service.

Kristen Nicoletti

A friend and I went tonight to try their Restaurant Week menu. The entire experience was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff knows the menu and had spot on recommendations. There were 2 managers (at least) on the floor making sure everything was to your liking. They checked in on us 3 times which may seem like a lot but they were not at all intrusive. Infact my friend commented that often restaurants give less attention when you are there for promotions and she was very impressed with our treatment. And now for the most important thing. I've been hearing about how amazing the food here was for months. There was a really high bar for me. I had big expectations. They did not disappoint. Every bite of food was perfect. It was so well prepared. The attention to detail is high here.

B R

Excellent service and the food was amazing. Criticism for opening week, while I'm sure is just, is a bit too "Wilmingtonish" for my liking. Try the truffled toast, excellent. The Vesper martini should wash it down just fine. Trust me when I say, it's a little slice of Philadelphia tapas, dare I say NYC. Original, thoughtful, worth the trip. Ignore the naysayers, let them keep with their fast food themes.

Ray Pitts

Just finishing my appetizer the cherry bbq wings were AHH MAZING and the fried calamari delicious!! I had the branzino fish. I literally died this Mediterranean seasoned fish was unbelievably good. This restaurant is a hidden jewel here in Wilmington Delaware

George Patti

Pretty good. Good food, a bit pricey though.

MollyDiBi

The dinner menu is very limited. Pizza, pasta, and choice of 3 or 4 entrees but they're all for the table (serving 2 or 4). The only seafood entree is a shared whole fish. Lunch menu is far better. Service and quality of food are both 4 stars but the dinner menu was a disappointment.

Tim Husted

Kitchen has no concept of staging courses. We recieved everything at once minus dessert. The place is ridiculously noisy even at half capacity, the pasta was well undercooked, and the "deconstructed peach cobbler" was a cold dry mess that looked like a drunk had left a intact cobbler outside for a day, then picked it apart with a fork. Gorgeous interior but a dreadful experience. Avoid at all costs.

Alexa Raab

So good. So stylish. So happy they're here!

The staff was amazing. Bruce and Gabriel made sure that we didn't want for anything. I was celebrating my birthday and it was the perfect place with the perfect atmosphere. We had the pappardelle and the rigatoni. These dishes were more than noodles with sauce. They were well balanced dishes with the perfect amount of flavor. The soft goat with the pappardelle was a fantastic touch. It wasnt just the food that made my birthday special, I had one of the best manhattans I've ever had any where and the Sazarec was strong and sweet. I hope this restaurant never loses it's charm and it's commitment to good service and great food. Highly recommend it.

Our entire experience at Bardea was truly amazing! We ordered a variety of dishes and shared between the 4 of us. They spaced out the courses perfectly and one dish was better than the next. The Ribeye was for 2-4 people and it was hands down the best steak we have all ever had! The pastas were delicious too. The calamari was excellent as well as the pizzas. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Mona, our server was awesome! We live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and without question will be returning ASAP to Bardea.

Honestly, some of the best food I have had in a long time in Wilmington! But I will have to say it was negated by the fact that our 8:30 reservation turned into a 9:00 seating with mediocre service. Please, and don’t get me wrong I don’t know how to run a restaurant, but don’t assume appeasing a customer means serving them a margarita pizza without copping to the reason why your seating was delayed. Drink orders were served scattered and servers seemed to have already been talking about you. I may have been annoyed, but this could of been remedied with management that copped to the piss poor service allotted after being seated. If I didn’t experience the service, I would of been blinded by the taste experience! Go and see for yourself, the pork belly was great!

What a superb dining experience we had at Bardea this evening! This restaurant offers a fascinating and unusual menu with each item we selected exquisitely prepared. It provided us with a truly memorable dinner with which to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant was crowded, but our service was still prompt and professional. Appetizers and main dishes are beautifully presented.

Absolutely LOVED this place! Food was Italian with a twist which made it unique and interesting. Good balance in food offerings. Beer and wine list were decent as well. They make their own lemoncello which was great. They don't have a parking lot but there are enough parking garages in the area that walking shouldn't be more than a few blocks. OR you can take advantage of the valet parking for $5 ( which is the same price you'd pay in a garage)

Nice Atmosphere & Servce was Excellent..I had the Short Ribs Bolognese & It was bland, the only flavor was Cheese..But the House baked Bread was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

An artful modern interpretation of Italian classics! The staff was very prepared and friendly. Although they only opened for business a couple days ago; you would not be able to tell by the level of organization! Must try.

Called ahead and spoke with chef who completely customized my vegan, gluten free, nut free and chocolate free meal including dessert! A bit noisy though for my tastes, but my dinner party of 6 seemed not to mind. Also, waiter seemed to be incredibly educated on both the food and wine. Very impressed with knowledge and service.

Location wasn't as welcoming as I'd like it to be as a paying customer. Drinks were sufficiently made but nothing notable.

Oh my gosh, a gem in downtown Wilmington. Not to be missed - get the lamb appetizer and don't be afraid of the whole fish they serve - delicious. Service is excellent from start to finish. The fact that they charge for some water options is a bit odd for such an otherwise fine dining experience. Would like to see that end, it seems like a cheesy upsell. See what you think! Love it otherwise, will be back again and again.

This is a great place with an even greater atmosphere. The food is very tasty which is so important and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Food is actually really good. Pizza is very fresh, tasty and crispy. Ricotta gnocchi is just so amazing. Friendly local waiters (our server was Chase), nice atmosphere, and many local workers hanging out after work. We will definitely come back here to try out the other dishes. Great job!!

Excellent food its great to have an educated wait staff to enlighten the locals who have been satisfied with the likes of a Mrs Robinos the small plates are a great start and the entrees make you feel like you're in Italy I could go on n on but tiramisu is here

Beautiful looking place.

Despite the steep prices on some dishes, I would still say Bardea is the best dining experience Wilmington has to offer.

Excellent new restaurant on Market St. in Wilmington. Known for its Italian tapas it's menu changes frequently. The food is excellent and service is great! We highly recommend it!

Chrissy Bassano

Was not impressed

Kendra Giardiniere

Marty Dekkers

A bit on the noisy side, but who needs to talk when the food is that good!

Might be the Best place to eat now in Delaware.

Good food. Good service.

Ward Collins

Excellent food, horrible service. Don’t go unless you have plenty of time, waited over an hour for meal. Waiter rarely checked on us.

Went on a Tuesday night at 7:30 and got a table by the window right away. The first thing I noticed is how extremely loud it is. I could not hear the person across from me. The waitress Katie was very nice and helpful. The food coming out was very slow, was there for 2 hours. Best thing I had was their roasted chicken. The taste on the outside was very nice. Also had the pasta with short ribs this was very underdone pasta and way beyond al dente as the waitress said it the message from the kitchen which is their way of saying they don't know how to cook pasta. Their was also not enough short rib to warrant the $21 price. They only make 3 pastas in house which is weird. If you can make 3 way not make all. The chestnut ravioli was very different but tasty, all I tasted though was sweet and not chestnut. Lastly had the honey pizza. The bottom was underdone and when I pulled out a piece all the topping came off. I will be a while before I'd go back as there are many better options. Also the salmon dish on the menu I wanted to try was not available as described and the edited version for the night was very odd sounding. Watch out if you order this as you might not get what you want.

Service can be slow and the 2 times I have been everyone's food was brought out at different times.

Erin Markham

Bardea has turned in to my favorite place in Wilmington. I'm typically there 4-5 times each month. The owner, Scott, is wonderful. He welcomes his guests and is always present (if not in the kitchen himself!). Paul and Zack are the best bartenders around. I only sit in the bar area because I know I will get great service from them both. 5 stars all the way!

Camillia Belle

Very nice place.

Joe Manbeck

Tasty food in a fun, modern atmosphere. The lamb skewers and pizza (Spicy Honey) were great, as was the tiramisu. There's enough on the menu for everyone to find something they like. Prices felt appropriate for what we got. Jamie was attentive and helpful in narrowing down our menu choices.

Matt Jones

Excellent food and drink. Go there to share plates with friends or family.

Richard Vernick

Amazing food and atmosphere.

Zuzka Harvanova

THIS is what Italian food tastes like! The pappardelle was to die for and all of the food we got seemed to be made from scratch. Originally from Europe, wehave been living in the USA since April 2019 and have travelled a lot but this place is by far the best Italian restaurant we've been to so far. Great service and ambience only added to the overall positive experience.
