Dinner at the Wood Creek Bar and Grill turned out to be an outstanding dining experience. Fine food and warm hospitality make for an outstanding combination on a cold night, especially in a town as beautiful as Norfolk, Connecticut. We made our way through the crowd in the bar area, to be greeted by friendly waitstaff and our hostess/owner Heidi. The food was really wonderful; my girlfriend ordered the salmon, which the chef happily cooked to order, and I ordered the seafood over linguine, which was both delicious and so large we took it home and I enjoyed it for two more nights. We were so full we decided to skip dessert, although we have our eye on the Haystack Mountain Sundae, a local landmark that is visible from the large free parking area downtown. Next time! Consider Wood Creek Bar and Grill highly recommended.

Friendly staff, comfortable space. Had late lunch midweek. Arancini appetizer very good. Kitchen had limited choice of rolls/bread for sandwiches, probably due to time of day. Au jus for French dip was good, bread should have been sturdier to handle the dip. Still, good sandwich. Guinness on tap.

Excellent Reuben. The marbled rye was the best part. Nice stack of quality corned beef. The service was very good and the entire staff were into their gig. Cool bar ambiance and a nice local crowd. Great beer selection also.

Prices are a bit high for quality of food, but since it's one of the only places in town now, it's not bad. Burgers are solid, same with wings and nachos. Other apps left to be desired. Good cocktails and drinks.

They have paper over the tablecloth and a jar of crayons on the table. There's a reason for that. You will need to entertain yourself while you wait for your food. It was around an hour in my case. To make matters worse, we had scheduled our reservation for 6:15 so that we could make it to the 8:00 show at Infinity Hall around the corner. 1:45 should be plenty of time, right? Apparently not. They served our entrees at around 7:40. In my case it was an entree and a salad, which made it that much more difficult. And the food was really tasty. I mean delicious. Try the duck. I would love to have enjoyed that meal without having to pound it down. Incidentally, I can't tell you if the desserts are as delicious as the rest of my choices. There was no time to find out. There is somebody in that kitchen that really knows how to cook. There is nobody in that restaurant that knows how to run a restaurant. If you like to color, and have loads of time on your hands, give this place a try. If you are looking for a good meal before the show at Infinity Hall, better find another place.

Had a fabulous delicious dinner on May 10, 2019 prior to seeing Jim at Infinity Hall The mushroom ravioli was spectacular Hubby had the special with sea scallops, rice and veggies. Delicious! Salads were scrumptious too with homemade dressings! Highly recommended and make reservations way ahead of any Infinity Hall shows Heard the food is better here than the Hall, but the Hall resteraunt and Hall was just recently bought by new owners Got to meet some locals who live in area. Great history to hear about

It was a Saturday night and crowded. Our party of 6 arrived at 6:15 to eat before an 8 pm concert 2 doors down the road. First, the waitress brought everyone's drinks except my husband's beer. When questioned, she didn't seem to realize it was missing, and said the bartender was overwhelmed. But she didn't follow up, and we had to ask again. Probably 1/2 hour later, she finally brought it, and had to substitute a different beer than the one he ordered. I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Platter, which was listed under Pastas. It was described as an array of grilled vegetables with tofu. I assumed it would come over or with pasta. The service was extremely slow and we watched the wait staff enter and exit the kitchen, many times, but empty handed. Finally, with little time left before the show, the food arrived. But mine was simply 2 stacks of grilled vegetables (the waiter called it a Vegetable Stack, which he explained was the old name for this dish) without tofu or pasta. When I asked, I was told they ran out of tofu. No one apologized or offered me an alternative protein source. Nor had anyone let me know they were out of tofu, so that I could have changed my order. Perhaps the restaurant assumes that only vegetarians would order this dish, AND that vegetarians eat only vegetables. Which is ridiculous. The vegetables were tasty, but not satisfying by themselves. I'd have had another slice of bread if the waitstaff hadn't whisked that away when serving the entrees. I understand it was crowded, but this restaurant should be used to that, given its proximity to the Infinity Music Hall. At least they did the right thing and didn't charge for my dinner. I won't be going back however.

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here. We ate inside, although there is a small dining area outside. The food was great (veal milanese and strawberry salad), the Sauvignon Blanc we had was tasty, and the service was even better. At least 4 different employees asked us how we were doing during the evening, and this was not due to our waitress being behind--it was just an attentive group of servers. I hope to return someday and try the Thai chicken wings.

Service and food are awesome! 3.6.19 Back many times since my last post. Ben ( the bartender who provides awesome service) suggested the pork Marsala. Sooooo good!

We come up to Norfolk every Valentine's weekend and Woodcreek is always our dinner stop. Romantic candle lit dinner restaurant side. The food is out of this world and the service is incredible. Make sure to have a reservation, they fill up fast.

Went to dinner tonight very busy, saw waitress once when she took our order, at end of the meal a women came to clear our table, NY husband asked where was our waitress, the response was.... she is busy, would you like me to leave these plates on the table tll she comes back. .. very short with us. My husband felt like he offended her, so he saw her on our way put and apologize and handed her a tip for helping out, she than said" I'm the owner and I don't need your money " and threw it on a table and walked away. Wow, we always like this place, but will never return after this

Oh, this place will be a regular stop during our jaunts through the northwest hills of CT! While we always stop for their wings (the sweet thai chili is the best in the state - huge, crunchy, utterly delicious! ), this last visit we had the mussels too. ....garlicky, peppery, flavorful...served with garlic toast for sopping up the juices. Ooohhh...heaven in a dish. <3 Service is excellent (Ashley is da' bomb), drinks are generously proportioned, and the local, hometown feel is warm and welcoming. Once I move to Winsted, this will be our go-to dinner date locale...

Coming in with friends, showing them the blackboard specials, I commented that they should check them out as the last two times I was there they neglected to mention them. Woman whom I'm guessing was the manager shot back they always do...well that's rude and I intrusive since I wasn't speaking to her and a complete lie. Food was ok, mussel dish came smaller than it ever did, many missing meat, wings over cooked, coleslaw bland, one in our party asked for the strawberry salad special with no cheese as they cannot have it but with avocado....but received a ton of cheese no avocado! Bison burger made two of us sick...used to enjoy stopping here but now not so sure.....and given everything we all tipped quite well despite the crap service and food. Someone commented that the dishwasher must have been cooking lol
