This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Diner.
The chicken, ribs and brisket were excellent, as well as all the slides. The staff was very accommodating and we all enjoyed our dinner.
A great selection of self serve coffee. Prompt, friendly service. Great selection for breakfast!
First, in case anyone reads this, they're cash only. They're absolutely delicious! We ordered pulled pork sandwiches and a pulled chicken with spicy peach sauce and it was the best barbeque I've ever had the pleasure to eat. Love it.
Good food, good service, friendly people.
Great atmosphere an food is excellent!!
Best food. Me and my dad love it. We went that once and my dad accidentally slipped the owner an extra 100$. We came back because we forgot coleslaw and the owner said he thought my dad slipped him an extra 100$. He was right, and have my dad back the money. The owner is a great man, and we are forever grateful, but it's not only how great the character of the man is, the food is also terrific. My family comes from the south and the food is a great experience that reminds me of North Carolina. All he needs is to add hush puppies to the menu. If you're in the area make sure to stop by.
What a great place for breakfast! The specials are great and so is the cooking! I got a perfect omelette! Not undercooked, no brown over cooked, just right and super tasty. Tables go fast and make sure to bring cash.
Found this gem by accident while in Waterford. Great breakfast spot! Perfect portion size, bottomless artisan coffee and a "mels diner " feel. Casey took care of us and he was incredible! I had the hocus poachus. Try it with the linguicia and hot sauce!
Great breakfast lunch place. Outdoor seating and excellent food and service.
Uniquely delicious pancakes and other breakfast items. Usually very busy bit waits are minimal. Tables for two are a bit on the small side and often feel cramped if ordering big.
Great healthy choices, good coffee and friendly staff.
Delicious omelette, friendly, homey place
Excellent food and service!
Wonderful breakfast spot. A selection of coffees are available. A wide variety of specials are written on the chalkboard, adding even more depth to their menu. Easy to miss, as the parking is behind the building. Tons of whimsical pig decorations inside give the place character. Cash only, but they have an ATM. I'm pretty sure they have options for various dietary restrictions.
When Pigs Fly is the real deal. The first time I went, I was so pleased that I thought they must have just had an exceptional day. I went back a couple weeks later and ordered the same exact thing: it was equally delicious. Go there, order what you know or try something new, and eat a lot.
Best barbecue ever!
I have to eat here every time I'm in Connecticut. They always have creative specials.
Absolutely amazing BBQ.
Nice friendly breakfast restaurant
Best Food, Best Service, Great Prices! We visit twice a month. It's hard not to get your favorite dish, but try the specials, they're well thought out and reasonably priced. Ask for Kasey, Kim or Krissy! You won't be disappointed!
Lots of good food for not much money.
Service and food was fantastic, the coffee was superb too! Will definitely be back.
Great food great service
Best food in the area.
I had a delicious classic breakfast at a fair price. I didn't like the self-serve coffee setup. It was generous, but in a crowded space and inconvenient to get up during my meal. Note that it is cash only!
Charming, great service, fabulous BBQ!
Very nice location. Rustic. I was not a fan of that style of BBQ but it was OK. Worth at least going once. Prices were decent.
Had Ribs and Chopped brisket. One of the best barbecue places this part of the country. Excellent service too.
So much food!
Good BBQ
Completely horrible service. The owner was acting like a complete spaz not listening to anything we had to say. Ended up not getting a meal we ordered and getting charged for a beer we never received or drank. I've been there numouros times when the owner wasn't working and it was a very plesant experiance, unfortunately the rude and unacceptable service makes me not want to back there.
You stole the brick house, the town's beating heart. Two stars for word play.
Excellent everything! Wonderful food really good coffee and the people are the best! Great experience!
The owner was fabulous! Food was absolutely great! Nice sizable portions. Yummy southern cooking. Don't hesitate! Go!
Excellent breakfast. On a par with it's sister restaurant Somewhere in Time (Mystic).
Friendly service and I enjoy the breakfast every time that I go here.
Great food and drinks. Owner is extremely knowledgeable and always there to answer any questions.
Awesome
I drive around New England every day for a living...every place I go I Google best wings in the area as I am on a conquest to find the best wings in NE... And I have decided these are the best wings in New England....I must admit I have never tried anything else on the menu but no joke these are the best wings in new england....I've tried over 100 "famous" places all over ne and none hold a candle to wpf wings...100 % would recommend this beautiful hole in the wall in East bumtruck ct
Always the best breakfasts in town!! The staff are super friendly and the service is so fast!
Been here a couple times for breakfast. Food has good portions and staff is friendly. But is honestly kinda tasteless. No amount of salt and pepper could give it any real flavor. It was very flat tasting.
Our family loves the breakfasts here. I love the breakfast quesadilla!
Eclectic and tasty. I love this place for breakfast. Never disappointed.
Great shop for breakfast. They have bottemless coffie. It fills up quickly so try to get there early. This is cash only place, they do have an ATM in the restaurant if you need it.
Great spot for breakfast, High quality food. The service was polite and very very friendly. Also very clean, The seating is comfortable and appealing Draw backs are this is a cash only. The building is a little small can get crowded fast. The menu is 4 pages total kind of small. But overall i had a good experience first time here and i can see why people enjoy it. Also make note no wifi here.
Knowledgeable about Celiac friendly items. Different wonderful selection of omelets.
1st and for most food looks and taste fantastic!!!! Rustic and homey we sat outside and it was very relaxing... I highly recommend trying this place and we will be back for sure
I've been here twice and the food is a bit dry. The owner couldn't handle the crowd on a holiday weekend and the prices were a bit high most likely due to the area.
Delicious breakfast and great service.
Q was good, reasonable prices. Owner, Bennett, good host
This place was awesome!!!! I would eat there everyday if I lived here. I wish they had a chain in FLA.
Awesome place. I love their specials board. They create very tasty breakfast items. It's a must for breakfast . I had the cheesy bacon grits, a favorite of mine and cheesy brisket hash, a new creation. Yum
Great food!
Great little diner. Awesome menu, great prices and free coffee. Everything you've been looking for in a breakfast place. A must stop by every time we're in the area. You won't be disappointed by the atmosphere, or the service. We love it at When Pigs Fly, and you will too!
Very good!
Really surprised by this place. Came to town for the vape expo. At breakfast here and it was so good we came back the next morning. Amazing staff they had working there and the food was super good.
Cute, cute, cute: and jam packed on a Sunday morning. Self serve coffee a definite plus, atmosphere infectiously fun and upbeat, service good, but food could have been tastier (I am a breakfast eaterie connoisseur of sorts). . . still, I'd return & bring friends, though I hope at a time it wouldn't be so damn crowded!
This food was HORRIBLE. Diarrhea for two days! The reviews are wrong! The owner is an ASS. HIS ACCENT IS FAKE! You might as well get McDonalds
Might be my new favorite breakfast place. Great bottomless coffee. Got the country scramble and corned beef hash. All were amazing! A great vibe at the diner with friendly staff.
Neighborhood standard for local delicious. food. Many, many choices for everyone. I decided on the breakfast quesadilla which was scrumptious. The staff are personable & knowledgeable. It's a friendly place.
I had a brisket sandwich that was really good very friendly staff and the outside seating was nice
When planning a vacation, I always check reviews of restaurants to see how people feel about places. This one was a gem. My GPS messed with me a bit, but we found it. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has charm inside. The service was great, and the food was outstanding. We had the sliders (nice), pulled pork platter (huge), and the portobello mushroom sandwich for the vegetarian in our group. Everything was amazing. Sides included Mac & cheese (good), Cole slaw (ok), corn pudding (good), and cheese cheddar jalapeno biscuit (good). Remember it is cash only. A great find, a great meal, an excellent choice.
Awesome food, great people that work there.
Experience wasn't good but maybe better at a different time or with different food. I had super dry brisket- had to chew a whole lot just to get it down. It was toward the end of the night so maybe that's why. The cash machine didn't have cash so I had to come back another day (30 min drive). Didn't have collard greens, the coleslaw was fresh and not too sugary so that's a plus, sliced pickles were nothing special- better to do a full uncut pickle but that's my opinion. Atmosphere is probably better suited for summer time as it was lonely, not so cozy. I will likely try again in the summer to see if the food is more fresh since the flavors were great and portion sizes were hefty.
Great food, great service, a little pretentious and it's reflected in their pricing but of all the breakfast places I've been to in CT, this place nails it.
Very nice casual breakfast and lunch dining. We will be back.
Great food and service!
5 stars
They had almond milk for the coffee, that's a big convenience. They were accommodating and informative. The staff was friendly and the food was fresh and very tasty.
Good sandwiches, great for lunch
What an amazing little restaurant! The food was amazing, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the decor is quaint and welcoming. Our visit was overall a wonderful experience and we would love to come again.
Went up there for a show and we ate at this amazing place Great food
great food, service and cozy atmosphere.
Great service today...coffee and breakfast was all very good.
Amazing food. Try the gumbo n deviled eggs
Friendly staff. Great food. Menu is limited but everything is amazing. I will definitely be going back!
Absolutely fabulous food! Everything is made with quality ingredients, the service is fast and friendly with a comfy atmosphere. Very family friendly as well. Always a pleasure.
Awesome 50s style atmosphere. Self serve coffee and friendly customers and staff.
This place is so great! It has the best beef brisket I have ever tasted in YEARS!! It also has a cool, clean and authentic environment. Even the bathroom looks great! I strongly recommend to eat here!
We Love this place. Best home cooked food around and awesome service every time.
Delicious food, friendly helpful wait staff
Fantastic and cheap breakfast joint!
Awesome place, Awesome food
Epic restaurant, sort of retro, really cute. Extremely friendly staff absolutely delicious food! Great choice for breakfast. I highly recommend the pumpkin apple walnut pancakes. Best ever!
Looked for a place to get together with a friend I hadn't seen in 30 years or so - somewhere halfway between us - and ran across this place in my internet search. Read some of the great reviews, and with a name like When Pigs Fly, who could resist? Well, we met at 10 am, had fabulous food, in a very homey, pleasant atmosphere, and stayed for hours. The staff were great about that - we had mentioned that we hadn't seen each other in years, so they understood our need to gab long after our plates were empty. My friend and I immediately decided to have many return trips to this place. We'll be trying out lots more on the menu. Highly recommend!
I'm a big fan of breakfast restaurants. This one makes the cut for a go-to place. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff even early in the morning. What really sets this one apart from others in the area is the value. The food is good, cooked exactly as ordered, and not over spiced. You won't walk out hungry and you won't break the bank either. The "small breakfast" comes with coffee and is sized for the average adult.....at $6.50 it is enough to keep me coming back.
Outstanding BBQ food at very reasonable prices. It is a great quaint little spot that offers a tons of flavor in everything from a moist brisket or a perfectly cooked crispy skinned chicken. The staff is very friendly and can help with the decision making
This place is fantastic. Fast service, great food and bottomless coffee you can take to go. So glad we stopped here
Great staff, great environment, happy with food options and were accommodating with substitutions due to diet restrictions.
The breakfast I had was wonderful. Friendly people. Note: parking behind restaurant.
At first entrance, this little diner speaks welcoming charm! Filled with random 1950's dinette sets and small wooden kitchen tables and chairs, little flying pigs and such, dancing about here and there. Natural light streaming through the large front windows. Were that not enough to cause you to take a seat, they immediately say " Hello" and offer up the bottomless self- serve coffee/ tea bar. No waiting for that caffeine fix! ;-)The menu is comprised of a wonderful variety of fresh and unusual offerings. Something for everyone, including vegan or gluten free
We walked through the door just two minutes before closing. Staff kept the place open, sat us down and fed us a wonderful lunch. Recommend the chicken, black bean and avocado wrap!
Good Breakfast
such delicious food, have recommended it to everyone I know
Fantastic food. Customer service is excellent.
Quick and friendly service even though they were packed. Delicious food served fresh, I'd probably go out in a snow storm or heat wave to eat here again.
Cozy little diner, definitely a must see
Fantastic food easily the best breakfast in the area. Can be expensive, but certainly worth it for the quality. The staff is wildly pleasant, and welcoming always. And all the food is fresh always.
Good breakfast! Good coffee. Very considerate service .
Awesome breakfast and great service!!
Incredible brisket! Don't forget Cash Only!
CASH ONLY CASH ONLY CASH ONLY
Great food and great service at a good price!
Great food, great employees, cash only.
Good service, good food. It is a local favorite breakfast place. Usually a wait on weekends, but rarely takes long. Parking is limited. I eat there almost weekly.
My wife and I stayed outside of foxwoods for a night. Upon planning this trip I did some research on restaurants in the area. This was the perfect mom and pop local breakfast spot. Very home town feel. Friendly atmosphere. Coffee was nice and.bold. I had a sampler with pancake and French toast and eggs. Everything was delicious. My wife got.a.breakfast burrito which was huge. All in all great breakfast spot
Great food and service. Cash only though..
Great smoked food!!!
This is an amazing diner, I just moved to Connecticut and I am so glad it is nearby. The service was awesome and the food was too. I absolutely loved it. My server was very nice and she took our order very promptly. It is a neat little place and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Enjoy! *Bonus tip* Just make sure you don't park in the barbershop parking lot, they are very rude. If the parking lot is full you can park on the other side of the fire station or at the daycare across the street. P.S. The barber shop is closed on Sundays ;)
I have had breakfast a few times here now. I love how welcoming it is! Everyone that works here is super friendly and makes you feel part of the family. The decor is fun and unique. I love that you make your own coffee & they have so many options, you can even buy coffee to take home. The portions and prices are amazing. I never leave here unsatisfied. I have brought countless friends here and everyone loves it. I am so happy I live so close.
Excellent!
Very nice place. The food was good. The service was great . The only thing is they don't take credit cards, so bring cash.
Great food and great prices. Coming from a coffee lover, their self serve coffee bar is great. I wish I knew it was cash only before coming but they had an ATM machine which was definitely a life saver! I will definitely be coming back here!
The ribs were gassy. They reheat ribs and don't smoke daily. Not the bbq I wanted on a Sunday!!!! Other wise good sandwiches.
BBQ sauce just right for me. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and the sides of collard greens and potato salad satisfied my appetite.i want the chefs recipe for the collards. I'll surely go here again.
This place is our out of the way ,quaint, breakfast place. Very busy place and the breakfast will show you why it's always busy. The Cornbeef hash and the Omlets are so yummy. The service has always been good. I love the pancakes and basically everything I ever have gotten here I have enjoyed. Good variety to choose from and my favorite the hash browns. You definitely won't be disappointed. Your belly will smile. Trust. Cash only. So make sure your wallets or purse is well equipped.
Always friendly. Good food.
Objectively this place may seem a little pricey, however the extra cost is worth every penny. The food here is made with passion and you can taste the difference. Don't be afraid to go outside your comfort zone and always check the special boards. They offer both iced and hot coffee in multiple flavors, and the flavors are brewed in to the coffee not added in as a syrup. Both iced and hot coffees are bottomless (a rare perk for ice coffee) and you can also get a free cup to go. I have never had a bad meal here!
First time there and great food, great company, with amazing hometown feel.
First time. Both service and food awesome! Good old fashion place and very clean. Love the coffee bar. Would highly recommend.
Always delicious!
This is my first time visiting Connecticut and I asked multiple people where is a place I have to eat while here. When Pigs Fly was every answer. The atmosphere was cozy and the people who work there are personable and polite. Instead of having one special like most cafes, this place had a variety of specials in different categories. I loved that they had a coffee bar area. I ventured outside the box and ordered and omelet with apples in it; it was absolutely delicious!!!! If I lived here I would go broke trying everything they create. I'm a side note, this place only takes cash
Excellent food and a fantastic staff...you can also try out their other restaurant, "Somewhere In Time" in Mystic.
Awesome breakfast dishes and staff is super!
Great food and great atmosphere
Excellent St. Louis ribs! This place is a gem.
Excellent food and atmosphere here. Had a combo of pulled pork sliders and Mac and cheese. Delicious to say the least. Prices are reasonable and service was fast. They only take cash btw (there is an ATM by the counter). Great place to stop for lunch, but can be crowded on the weekends
Good food, good prices. Nice folks
Omg delicious, make it a point to stop here. Dam good barbecue! !
Friendly atmosphere, good service, what's not to like!?!?! The menu is quite inventive but still whet's the appetite. Will return.
Greasy spoon breakfast place, cash only. A little pricey for what you get, two coffees, a waffle and two sides of hash cost is $33. The wife loves the place, I'm all set.
Second time here and the food was delicious! We had the St Louis style ribs with blackeye peas & collard greens along with Chopped Brisket platter with jalapeno/cheddar biscuits and macaroni cheese.
Awesome wait staff. Fantastic food.. great variety of coffee. My only complaint is the corned beef hash, seems like the canned stuff.
Very surprized that this quaint restaurant in a tiny village delivers such a great overall experience. I will be back.
Best wings around!!!!
The best breakfast joint in Waterford!
Great variety of breakfast specials. Always great food and service.
Amazing service. Great food. Wonderful staff and really cool concept and decor. A+
Great service, food was fast. Coffee and tea is bottomless and delicious. Came in at 7:50am on Sunday and no one was really there so my friend and I were able to enjoy our food and talk. A lot of people brought their small children, but they were well behaved and quiet. Would recommend.
food is very good. small quaint location.
I decided to try this place and was very disappointed. The food was average and prices were high. I won't be returning.
Awsome breakfast!!
I really enjoy this unique restaurant. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly, and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in accommodating us. It's nice because they have suggestions as well. I tried lunch for the first time, and it was very good. I was happy. It's also nice to know your non-vegetarian/vegan friends would be very comfortable there too.
Best barbecue in Connecticut
Great solid breakfast, pretty fast and very pleasant service. Sweat family atmosphere. Come in hungry!
Aweson service and food!
Awesome food. CASH ONLY! Had the Trio so could try out 3 of there flavors. There brisket is to die for, there pulled pork hits it out of the park, and smoked chicken is out of this world. Highly recommend!
Had a wonderful lunch today. Great food, excellent service and fair prices!!
Always enjoy coming here! Worth every second of the hour drive for me! Food is akways amazing!
Great food great service!
Best breakfast spot! Our weekend go-to! Casey is the best! Great food, coffee, and service!
Great food, wonderful service, cozy feeling. A great way to start your day.
Great food. Good value
Will never go again. Place needs repair. It smells. Good food portions but I couldn't even taste the briskette because it was smothered in some vinegar dressing. Who is rating this a 5? Relatives?
Great food, great atmosphere!
Great place to go on a motorcycle, the roads are very scenic. I ordered the half rack of ribs and collard greens. The rub on the ribs was one of the best I ever tasted. Nice amount of meat on the ribs. The collard greens had great flavor and were cooked perfectly, The customer's are very friendly, Had a nice conversation. Wish she stayed to have dinner with me!
By far the best BBQ place in NW CT. This is some good, down home comfort food made with Southern love. A must-try if you haven't been. Save five receipts and present them on your sixth visit for 10% off. This is a cash only restaurant.
Food is excellent here! People are super friendly. Service is fast, even when very busy. I am a repeat customer.
This is a wonderful restaurant. It is right along the main street in the town next to the fire department. There is parking behind the restaurant and then you walk and enter in the front of the restaurant. There is a deck outside where you can eat but we ate inside. You check in at the little podium. Drinks are serve yourself coffee, water or tea. We were seated quickly but know that you need to arrive here early or you will be waiting. This is an understandably popular restaurant and so gets busy. The staff came and took our drink order quickly. They have a great menu with plenty of options. I got the french toast and a tea. The food came out within 10 minutes and was excellent. THe price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for all people who want a wonderful New England eating experience. Enjoy.
Absolutely fantastic place to eat. Friendliest staff ever. Always great food.
Absolutely delicious! Definitely would and will come back.
From my like it was good food.
Great food but is cash only
Awesome variety of daily specials and extensive menu.
Awesome food, friendly staff.
Atmosphere great! Service fantastic! Food bland.... Home Fries bland! Omelette looks great but bland! Pancakes need a steak knife to cut.
The food was GREAT both times I've been. The staff members were friendly and professional. They must be doing something right to survive in a town that has no thru traffic, I know people drive to Sharon just for this BBQ. The dining space is cute and clean. The kicker is that they only charge $4 and change for a bottle of craft beer, It really adds to the pleasure of dining out when you're not ripped off at every turn. A+ Will eat here again.
Awesome place for breakfast. Great staff. Bottomless coffee. Eggs cooked to order. Try the scones! No reservations. Parking in back.
Awesome! Quaint little place and the perfect find. We came over from Long Island and stopped in on our way to Essex. Staff was smiling and friendly. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. I travel often and love finding these gems. And if you have little ones, the atmosphere is fun....how many flying pigs can you find! An affordable must if you find yourself in Waterford.
Great food and good atmosphere. Great and helpful employees .Totally recommended.
Brunch yesterday at the When Pigs Fly Café in Waterford, CT. Loved their huevos rancheros. Everything the 3 of us ordered was delicious! Organic dark roast coffee was also really good!
Our M/C club likes to ride up there for something to do. Food is great atmosphere good. Staff friendly.
Great breakfast. Great people
Good breakfast. Ample serving. Staff was friendly. Nice little cafe. I would recommend.
Such good breakfast. I got pancakes with fruit and cream cheese baked in, yum! I also recommend their Mavis Medley, home fries with cheese and bacon and two over easy eggs on top. That one is my usual. Cash only!
Always check out the specials board. There's something for everyone. I usually go for a mix of sweet and savory. The pancakes and French toast are great. Coffee is available as Serve Yourself and bottomless with take out cups to go included. The bathroom is unisex. It's usually very busy on the weekends at typical brunch hours. But the meals go quickly and the weight isn't usually too long especially for smaller groups.
Great food, but service was a bit slow. I guess good things come to those who wait, lol.
Excellent food and coffees. Friendly, efficient service. Cozy, retro ambiance.
Had a slightly hard time finding this place. Very old decor. Food was okay but nothing special. I'd look elsewhere the next time I am in that area. There was just nothing that stood out. A place for the very local only.
Very good, staff is great as well as prices
The best breakfast specials around. Always a nice time great staff very friendly and quick, CAN PAY CASH ONLY, unless you use their ATM WORTH IT
One of the best diners in all of New England! Cash only so keep that in mind before you go!
FABULOUS!!!! Have been wanting to try this place for years. Finally stopped in with a friend and had the best comfort food ever! The brisket was incredible. If ordering the bbq ribs definitely get the full rack or you will wish you had. The baked beans are a must have! They are the perfect combination of spicy, sweet and smoke. In addition to the great food and adorable rustic atmosphere I can’t say enough about the service. The owners couldn’t do enough to please us. We will DEFINITELY be dining there again!
Great food. I had the Drew omelette....it had avacado in it and was delicious! They have a nice little coffee bar. Service was superb. Checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was okay. Will definitely return.
A great, tiny BBQ restaurant – comfortable, limited seating indoors and out but it seems focused on take-out orders. Though the menu doesn't have a ton of options, the stuff it does have is really delicious. Order a rack of ribs (dry or wet) and a few sides. Cash only, but there's an ATM inside (charges a $2 fee).
Wonderful atmosphere and great tasting BBQ. Everytime I've gone the food comes out at a reasonable time. This place is awesome to bring large groups and they are very accommodating.
Very friendly staff and good breakfast
Best consistent BBQ around.
Love the creative dishes and the staff is always wonderful. Very casual atmosphere. I had the country scramble for breakfast and a grilled Turkey sandwich for lunch (with the garlic parmesan hashbrowns side!). Breakfast or lunch, you can't go wrong When Pigs Fly!
Quick and easy
Great food, menu on line different then in the restaurant. Still a great place...great food...great owner
Delicious delicious delicious! Some of the best barbecue I've ever had!
Good food. We had Brisket and Memphis ribs.
Always amazing food! It can get a little crowded at times, but it's just a sign of a great little restaurant! I ghighly recommend trying it out. You will be happy you did.
Good food, polite and nice service (especially the drink lady)
Owner very friendly with authentic accent. I've been to a lot of barbeque places and this was home to the best I've ever had. That includes places in the south. 6/5.
Amazing!! Super friendly staff. Great food. Mark it on your map and go.
Good food pleasant staff. May have to wait sometimes, the place is always packed.
Great restaurant. Loved the theme and warmth the employees provided. The menu is dynamic and everything tastes amazing
Great service and food
The food was delicious and the waitress was very sweet lady. It is a lovely, quaint restaurant!
Always have excellent service, people who work there are VERY POLITE,KIND TO CUSTOMERS.Enjoy going to When Pigs Fly.
Amazing restaurant! Cash only, self serve coffee, dream cooked to perfection. Definitely would go again
Awesomeness
Nice breakfast and lunch spot in Jordan Village. Friendly staff. Comfortable eating area. Had delicious scrambled egg and bacon quesidilla with sour cream and salsa. Plenty of parking in rear.
I had doubts walking in but holy moly the food was GREAT!!!! I decided on the triple slider plate with a side of slaw, glad I did cause I got to taste the pulled pork, the smoked brisket and the chicken. The portions were generous (I couldn't finish) the Cole slaw wasn't your usual and I loved it. And if you're looking for something different for a side try the Shoepeg Corn Pudding ..... YUMMM!
Great local joint! Excellent iced coffee! Cash only but they do have an ATM
Love it here.....my go to nook when im in waterford, bottomless coffee and tea and the flavors they showcase are so worth it.
Amazing food, incredibly friendly staff!
Best breakfast in town
Fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant!
Food was not all that great. My son ordered chicken wings and they were like rubber he didn't even eat them. I got the crab cake po boy sandwich it was ok they put a lot of sauce on it I had to wipe some off my husband got the beef brisket and he didn't even eat it it was all fat the collard greens were good but the black eyed peas tasted like vinager dinner came out to be 75.00 dont know how but definitely not worth it. Never again will we go there again.
Worth the drive. Good barbecue in northeast Connecticut. Very small in size, not in flavor.
We loved this place, great home cooked breakfast, the setting is so adorable. I love that you can take a cup of tea or coffee to go after breakfast at no charge. It is country cooking at it's finest. A must-do.
Awesome food great service
This is a second restaraunt - the ladies who run a very successful eatery in Mystic said they would open another one 'when pigs fly!' Well, then. Expect a wait on Sundays but the line moves fairly quickly. There is a big patio and a couple of benches outside and - this is unusual around here - they don't mind if you go in and grab some coffee. They have unlimited, self serve coffee here - one of the many cool and homey touches. The seating is basic and cozy. There is enough room so you don't feel crowded but they are squeezing every possible seat they can out of the space. And this is a good thing; the food is worth waiting for but I would rather be close to a neighbor than wait another ten minutes. Parking is in the back and it too is cozy - if you are going with a group, carpool - people will love you for it! The staff is invariably courteous and attentive. I have yet to have a server not treat me right. The food is outstanding and I LOVE their Irish Corn Beef Hash omelette with hash browns on the side. Their menu is solid and the food is top shelf. Do make sure you bring cash - they do not take plastic. If you are in Waterford, this is a solid choice for breakfast. Don't let the line worry you - it does move! UPDATE Today I tried their grits and bacon side. I spent enough time in the South to develop a taste for grits. Yankees don't do grits. I am generally disappointed. When Pigs Fly does grits right. Could use a touch more salt but the first time I've had good grits north of West Virginia.
This place is amazing! Served a delicious sandwich on gluten free bread, grilled in a separate pan! Service was awesome and staff sooooo good!! Will eat here again and again!
Amazing food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere!
My bagel breakfast sandwich was perfect. We also tried tried the breakfast quesadilla and that was really good too. Someone near us got pancakes and we were jealous they looked so yummy. Also coffee and tea are bottomless and help yourself so you can have a cup while you wait. Would definitely go back again.
Top Notch Service. Great food. the coffee is self-serve, and you can also make it cup for the road after you are finished. If you sneeze while you're driving by you'll miss it, but once you lock in on radar you will never forget it.
Well I devoured my pulled pork, sweet cornbread and coleslaw without a photo. Authentic southern Q. Nice touch with the nod to Lousianna. Loved the gumbo. Attaching photos of a private dinner we had...#gourmet #catering
Great omelet, so-so pancakes. I'm someone who likes my pancakes thinner and not too doughy so these weren't my favorite, but they were full of blueberries so that's a plus. My omelet was superb but, another pet peeves, it came with bread posing as toast. The best toast is crisp toast and I usually ask for "double toasted toast" which I will do next time. Cash only, no credit cards but ATM is on hand at $2.25 per withdrawal which wasn't fun. We will definitely return and make our requests clearer next time. Friendly staff!
Great service, awesome food!!
Came across this restaurant on google maps when mapping out a motorcycle route in NY/Connecticut. Came all the way from "The Hamptons", Long Island this past Sunday 10/14 for some good bbq., which it turned out to be. The baked beans and the gumbo soup were awesome!!!
One of the best local breakfast/lunch spots. My husband and I try to make it every weekend.
The sliders and coldslaw are to die for...
I don't even know exactly where to start. The food was incredible, I had the French toast which was cooked perfectly and my son has the corned beef omelette special (he doesn't eat eggs but he ate almost all of it!!) which he loved!! The service was awesome, we were checked up on a few times just to make sure we were enjoying the food and to see if we needed anything else. We felt welcomed right away and I cannot wait to go back!
Awesome pulled pork to die for Mac & cheese!!!!!!!
Excellent breakfast. The Country scramble (w bacon instead of sausage) was awesome! The pumpkin spice coffee with bottomless mug is a great fall treat.
Tasty food and friendly owners.
