I consider myself somewhat of a world traveler and also a HUGE foodie. Moving to the Norwalk area recently, I was told to try several establishments, one being Vedas Indian Cuisine. I finally did and WOW! This is the real deal, authentic with flavor and variety off the charts. If you are looking for good - go somewhere else - if you are looking for Great, look no further. So disappointed gave Tomato rice and named it’s as vedas biryani no salt no taste and chicken doesn’t even taste like mashed potato felt so bad wasting food, if any one know real taste of briyani never try briyani at vedas, you will disappoint a lot and waste your money $14 it’s not worth at all. Reply to your comment vedas: expectation is wage word the food you served to me, food you served to me is not even taste better not at all edible food. If your making tomato rice name it as tomato rice people will buy it if they interested but don’t cheat people.

It's in a small little area, but definitely feels like a hole in the wall, but that just means the restaurant spends more on making good food! Veda not only has absolutely amazing food but service to match! The owner and his staff are friendly and very helpful if you are not familiar with Indian cuisine. They will make suggestions of what to order as well as answering any questions you may have. So do not hesitate to try a new cuisine if you have not, I promise they will make your first experience very comfortable! We have tried the onion fritters, eggplant appetizer, numerous chicken and lamb entrees, goat biyrani and mango smoothie. All were excellent! No disappointments here. Thanks Brian for the recommendation, we are now Veda advocates!

Basically a takeout place, even though we ate in, but the food is excellent. I had shrimp jalfreze which was not on the menu, but they were super accomodating, and my son had the lamb tikka masala. Rice was included, but we also ordered naan was also great.

Veda is small gem on the wesport boarder. Put dont let the size of the restaurant fool you these guys make amazing food and provide excellent service. The flavor and spices complement the dish perfectly for balanced flavor. I come here at least once a week to get my fix. Try the curry goat or buryani you will love it. The daily lunch bowls is a great deal.

One of the best Indian food places we have been too! We went in for a quick bite and had the Bombay bhel puri (which totally reminded us of the authentic flavours back home!) and Aloo tikki chaat. The masala chai was really good for the gloomy rainy weather. Second visit : we really liked the chilli paneer and garlic naan!!

Perfect North Indian food , prices are reasonable and tastes like “Indian” food. Found the goat Biriyani a little too spicy. Edit : ordered Calcutta style chicken Kathi roll and had great expectations but it was a dud. I am from Calcutta and have literally lived on these rolls growing up . This is no where near to what we have in Calcutta . The paratha is too crispy and the chicken is minced too fine , no raw chilies or onion filling and no lemon to go with it . Suggest to rename the dish and take off “Calcutta” from the name . Not taking a star off hoping they will make changes to the preparation .

Picked up dinner from Vedas for the first time tonight and I'm kicking myself for not discovering them sooner! So delicious! The butter chicken was creamy and moist, garlic naan was incredible, and appetizers completely satisfying. Will definitely be back for more. Thank you!

This used to be my favorite lunch spot. That until right after I post my 5 star review I end up with lunch orders with 1/2 the amount of rice. When I called to address the issue and place an order the man that answered the phone told me that they’re trying to keep their doors open and I wanted to place an order ok and if not ok. What?! Horrible response!!! I’m so glad we have The Naan in the area as I can get good customer service and enjoy a variety of Indian cuisine with their affordable buffet price - All you can eat for the same price Vedas’ 1/2 portion of shrimp tikka Masala. 1 star cause it doesn’t let me post with none.

I visited for the first time today. They have an amazing $8 lunch special. From the moment you step in you are treated like you are at a nice restaurant, staff are attentive and kind. I had the saag paneer lunch special. I love saag paneer, sometimes it can feel very heavy and creamy but this one felt lighter and healthier. The lentil "vegetable of the day" side dish was very flavorful. Also $2.25 for that much garlic naan is a deal. I plan on returning.

Very tech savvy, easy to order. Got the Tikka Masala which flavor was very good but only three piece of chicken in it, all sauce. Would prefer naan instead of the vegetable that was included with the lunch bowl as I didn't care for it and charging extra for naan just seems wrong.

Totally love the food here, I would say the real Indian taste rarely available around the region. My favourites are the Kati-rolls, would love it if they have more types of fillings available for those. India’s flavors duplicated here in the USA My wife and son are from India.. so our tastes for the food have an authentic desire. We sat down in a small place to prejudge it with thoughts this is a hole in the wall. However literally from the moment we walked in to the establishment and seated to reading the menu. We were pleased. Sagar our server was more than accommodating and made us feel this restaurant has a high class climate. We were blown away by the tastes. This is a place we would recommend to those who truly want an authentic experience.

Place was small. Not enough space to sit on a table. Food was kinda microwaved not freshly made. Chicken was so hard. I can taste that it was not freshly made food. I don't think so there was a restroom because to wash your hands you will be provided wet towels. Should be improved more .

Picked up lunch for our office , we ordered a variety of entrees , lamb korma , butter chicken , Chicken Tiki Marsala , Yellow lentils and Biryani Rice Veg and Chicken ALL the dishes were delicious !!!! Not to mention the Naan ! We will definitely be ordering from Veda soon !

Don't know where to start from. Owner and staff guys stares at women customers like they are not girls, but a chicken that he and his staff will eat. We ordered chicken tikka and chicken was Rubbery and uncooked. Then we wanted to get yogurt; yougurt is free always, but this guy charged us $3 for us. My wife and I am Never going there again. This owner and his staff guys look at women customers like a sexually frustrated hawk

VEGAN CUSTOMERS BEWARE. They do not specify that the rice and sides in their lunches all contain dairy. Called ahead to specifically ask which items have dairy. Ordered a $9 lunch vegetable bowl. I receive the order, and call again after seeing a suspiciously creamy side packed with my food all in the same container. I was only then informed, after calling, after asking, after paying, after delivery that every side that came with the lunch-sized portion contained dairy. Was not offered replacement or reimbursement.

The food was amazing, the proprietor was friendly and very helpful ,and it's very nice (though also very small) inside .Definitely more of a take it place than eat in, though it's fine for small groups as well ,and BYOB. Great Food, Great Catering Service, Great People We had food catered by Veda for my 50th birthday party for around 55 guests. Right from the planning to the execution of our party, JP was very helpful in putting the appetizers and entrees menu for our party. He even invited us to his restaurant and prepared a whole menu for us which we got to sample. His experience and knowledge about catering for events was invaluable. On the day of the party the food was delivered by JP and his chef. They left clear instructions on storing and serving the various appetizers and entrees. The food itself was really really delicious. We had many compliments from our guests. I would wholeheartedly recommend JP and Veda Indian Restaurant for catering for your event.

I have visited this place a few times already and each time it was consistently tasty. Lunch portions are good enough and priced just right. Food is served pretty fast. It's a small place and you're getting your food info plastic dishes with plastic utensils, but who cares? I go there for the food and I'm getting what I'm looking for.
