Plenty of seating on a nice cool day. Sweet yes is flavorful and smooth just like in Texas. Brisket is good. I like mine with lots of fat but they do not have burnt end. Spare ribs were most, lots of meat fat feel of the bone. Easy to get too but watch it for Ct drivers when pulling in they are right up your trunk and might rear end you. They leave no room for error. No wonder so many have accidents

First time here, LOVED it! The food & service! <3 It's a tiny joint with awkward seating during the colder months. We had the beef brisket & pulled pork each with the Jerk flavor & Mustard, the BBQ beans, Mac & Cheese, & Cajun Slaw. The beef brisket & pulled pork, sooo good! Tender & really good flavor. BBQ beans - genius. Mac & cheese - you pay extra for it, but really good! Cajun Slaw - a little bland & told that to the staff there. For someone who can't eat BBQ, the mustard flavor settles well on the stomach. Gretchen & Ray - very personable & made already great food taste better! Love them!!! Can't wait to go back anytime & definitely next year for the nice weather & sit on the patio! They even use a delivery service that goes out to New London from Norwich for only 15% of the total cost.

People are nice. Pulled pork was dry and chewy. Blue slaw and collard greens were pretty good. Could only use our Groupon on a choice of 2 meals available that day even though we wanted just appetizers. The Groupon said nothing about only using for meals.

I'm going to preface and say I'm from Chattanooga, TN, up here for Navy. I've been here for about a year and a half and I've missed nothing more than actual southern BBQ, and have previously had issues with finding (Good) BBQ on the East coast. I had the pulled pork, Cajun slaw, baked beans, cornbread, and sweet potato fries. I don't have words to describe how amazing this is. This is the best barbecue I've had in a very long time and it is absolutely legit. The staff is super friendly, and it was great to connect with some other Southerners here! Prices, food, staff - all incredible. Will definitely be coming here again regularly. Highly recommend to anyone who wants actual BBQ.

Friendly staff. Amazing pulled pork, bbq sauce is on point not too sweet. Mac and cheese is not the best unfortunately but still edible. Eat in or take it to go. Portions are more than enough, perfect place for some local bbq.

My goodness is this fantastic! Real southern BBQ with great flavor, genuine recipe, and fantastic service! We were traveling and figured we would give the Groupon a try... give it a try! You won't taste anything like this unless you travel south. I promise you won't be disappointed. Made fresh right in front of you. Ribs are so delicious, the cajun fries have a pleasant heat, potatoe salad super fanrastic, and the breading on the wangs are like something you've long for but have never found. Great outdoor seating or take it to go. Pricing is great and has a hefty setving. Thanks again for sharing these amazing flavors! If we are back in the area, we'll make it a point to come again!

Great food couldn't get enough! Everything was delicious! Groupon needs to add to the description that you must by 4 meals...we were 3 and the place worked with us to figure out what to get to cover this requirement. It all worked out, the eat-in area is small but there is pleanty of outdoor seating. If visiting you have to try the corn bread and the pulled pork too!

Not happy, we went and spent almost 50.00 for meal for two, the corn bread was bone dry, mac & cheese was dry and gross, brisket was dry as a bone.. pulled pork was good. But not worth what we spent.... not happy.

This restaurant posed a dilemma for me. The food was excellent. The sides were terrific. The only disappointment was that the meat tasted like it was cooked in the oven rather than over a wood fire. It was fall off the bone done, but I really like my BBQ smoked. I had the half rack with collard greens and mashed sweet potatoes. Tasty! I think if you were born and raised in New England this will be a five star BBQ restaurant for you. It is far better than any chain BBQ I've ever had. But it isn't quite up to real southern BBQ standards.

Ok. I'm from New England, but I've had BBQ in the south. I Love the food here. The menu is intimidating. It's big, about 8 feet tall and all of it great. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, patient and the good comes out quick. Eat in. Eat outside on the patio. Take it home. Any way you like it.

Never had anything I didn't like here. My favorite is their mac and cheese, it's made with real cheese, and isn't super creamy (some of us don't like that) cornbread is to die for. If you use the Groupon, please note that it is for "meals" and not for monetary value. For example, we bought the $40 one first, and ended up having to get 4 dinners to use it. This was way too much food for us, but we regret nothing! Since then, we use the $20 one for two meals when we can. However, when the food truck is out and about, I get the Mac Attack with pulled pork. Just wish they were open on Sundays!

Food is delicious and portions are huge. I ordered 2 dinners both with greens, other side was mashed sweet potatoes and other mac and cheese, got 2 sweet potatoes so I didn't get to try the mac and cheese, boomer otherwise neat and clean. I would go back.

I rarely eat BBQ. While out of town I ended up here because it was close. The pulled pork sandwich was amazing. I asked to have cole slaw in there too. Makes it interesting. I had a side of the potato salad too. Friendly staff. Plenty of seats outside and a few inside. Really glad I stopped by for lunch.

I had the pleasure of visiting the food truck at Real Art Ways in Hartford, CT. I had the Black and Blue sandwich, my wife had the Pulled Pork sandwich and my niece had the chicken wings. All were delicious. The staff was very friendly, which made the meal that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

This is a small BBQ shack with little indoor seating, but plenty of seats on the covered outdoor patio. Located right off the highway there is plenty of parking and is easy to find. Also, the food is very very good. I enjoyed chopped brisket, ribs, and chicken and found them all phenomenal. The cornbread was also moist, cakey, and a little sweet. A good compliment to the smokey meats.

Wow. I stumbled in this place while I was in Connecticut for work through a Groupon. Absolutely amazing. The corn bread melts in your mouth. The pulled pork is tangy and just and just the right heat. I tried the Cajun Cole slaw and it was such an amazing commination of heat and Cole slaw. I loved it. I couldn't ask for a better BBQ North of the deep South. They were out of chicken and I didn't try the brisket. The ribs were amazing. My daughter, who generally won't eat spicy food store more than half of mine so I wish I had bought more. All in all I would certainly recommend this place to anyone near Norwich.

Uncle D's food truck is southern BBQ on the go. Since it's mobile, there isn't a huge menu but there is still a variety of choices. The staff was friendly and in spite of a line to order, the food came out quickly.

Excellent food, best bbq baked beans I've ever had. The Mac attack my wife had was so good I had to go back the next day and order for myself (620 miles) Excellent potato salad. Best friend pickles I've ever had. Ribs was perfect. I went mostly for brisket. And it was great. They even had the chicken right! Owner's we're great, extremely pleasant experience both days. I cannot say enough. I have traveled all over the country and stop at any bbq, Uncle D's Blazin BBQ is at the top of my list.

Nice friendly people. Great food! Pulled pork, brisket and more southern style. Odd location in Norwich but offers Indoor and outdoor seating and is also sometimes mobile on food truck. A must try! Hours of operations is odd and may vary. Not open Mon Or Tue.

For what it is it's pretty damn good. Solid bbq. My only problem was the price was a tiny bit pricey but honestly if I was craving bbq I'd pay the extra couple of bucks to get it. So far it's the best bbq in New London county. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu.

The wife and I traveled down on the motorcycle on a hot summer day. It would have been nice to eat indoors in the A/C but there was not much seating, and not much for A/C either. There is plenty of seating outside though. You get a ton of food for the money, and it is all extremely delicious!

Best ribs this side of the Mason Dixon line (even though it's not a real line). I got the full rack and shared it with another person and we still had left overs. "The wood makes it good!"...all too true! Don't forget to endulge in some moist cornbread and mashed sweet potatoes too. I will definitely be coming back for more.

Best BBQ I have had since leaving the south. Pulled pork, collards, brisket, hush puppies, corn bread are easily some of the best I have ever had, mashed sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese, and Banana pudding are also excellent. The oatmeal stout BBQ sauce has an amazing sweet and smoky flavor I highly recommend trying it. Although the owner is a Bama fan, it isn't enough to knock a five star rating. Go Dawgs.

Not impressed at all. Had the 3 meat sampler with chicken, brisket, and ribs. Brisket was chopped and dry. Chicken was moist but very tough. Ribs were chewy as hell. I was hoping for a good experience with BBQ close to home, but this place isn't worth the price. I trwvel all over the northeast and this is by far one of the worst BBQ places I've been .

Exceptional Southern Barbecue!!!! I was born and raised In the South, Mobile, Al. I have spent the my entire adult life in the South East and the last 15 yrs in Houston, TX. Uncle D know's BBQ!!!! Enough smoke to be tasty but not over powering and the perfect amount of tang in the sauces and beans. His sauces alone will allow you tour the the best BBQ origins around the south. But most importantly, GREAT Collards! I look forward to working my way through the menu! 'nanna pud'n and hush puppies are in on my wish list next!

I bought the brisket which at first I thought it was a little dry butAfter pouring barbecue on the brisket I knew why It was cooked that way.
