This Restaurant is included in the category of Breakfast restaurant.
This was possibly the best breakfast I ever had, the Spring Benny special. My son had the Brownie pancake. Amazing service, food took about 20-30 min on a Saturday am, totally acceptable and worth the wait. Our server, Angel, was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Food is great and a lot of unique options for everyone
Really great, long wait for our food but delicious! We will be back!
I am visiting from Michigan for work. I was staying in the pure blue across the street so I stop by for lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got my choices narrowed it down to my final 3 picks, I asked the weightier what would he would recommend (when trying a new place I always ask the staff to pick between 2-3 choices. They work there they should know what's best.) I got the kettle burger. The burger was good in size especially for the price, but the meat tasted Blan. It was as if they didn't season it at all, no flavor what so ever. I would prob go back and try something other then the burger because of the friendly staff and size va price.
Nice place, food was good, little on the pricey side
Delicious Paleo and GF options! Breakfast served till 3 pm. Wait staff very friendly!
Best breakfast place I've ever been!!! Worth a drive from NY. We went two days in a row because we needed more!! Great service and the food is amazing! You must try the pancakes! Everything was fresh and delicious!
Limited choices but food is good and plentiful.
Good food great service
Great little local spot for breakfast! I went in to have breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9am and had no problem getting a seat for myself. Had cinnamon bun french toast, eggs, and grits. The grits are good and very cheesy (Owner just told me there's no cheese, I'm just used to white grits with butter, they were good though!!). They are also very generous with their coffee, leaving a carafe on the table just for me. They have a ton of specialty pancakes and a whole menu of paleo and gluten free products, if that is something you need.
Nice place - salad, burgers. Seems like a local favorite. Our server was great.
Went there for breakfast this morning with a party of 4. Although the food was good, we waited 50 minutes for our food to be brought. The waitress was asked how much longer, she said we still had another 10 minute wait. Unfortunately we were not the only table having this issue. Definitely not a good first impression.
Delicious pancakes, exceptional service!
Great menu but fails to deliver. Crowded.
Nice village type local restaurant. Food is good, seating is plentiful. We had breakfast, the selections were abundant and some selections were different from normal diner foods. Nice place to go with family.
Great food! Great service! We make sure anytime we have visitors to the shoreline we get there for their fabulous breakfast or lunch, wish they were open for dinner!
Great specials
Excellent food & excellent service. Cozy environment.
Good food and service. Large menu.
Great Service ... Biscuits n Gravy Amazing. Shrimp n Grits Delicious
Great homemade food!! Try the maple sausage yum!!
Best breakfast period!
Went there this morning alone. Sat down asked for coffee. A party of four came in after me and were served before me. Had to ask two more times for coffee . Finally got my coffee. Waited some more no one came to take my order. She took the table of four order. I walked out. I've been there many times service is always an issue.
I'm giving this a 5 star because it is the ONLY restaurant around to having a paleo menu!! It's not big, has about 4 paleo items on it but we got a paleo pancake, which was huge and delicious! (Could split between two to three children) We also ordered the organic egg omelet and Cinnamon French toast. Everything was delicious. Would highly recommend for anyone especially paleo folks!!
Fantastic pancakes and hash breakfast. The coffee is great. Service wonderful. Has gluten and paleo
Nice place. Great food. Good prices.
You need to order the creamy grits... Yum
Friendly atmosphere, great food and tasty pancakes
I will never eat here again. If i could give zero stars i would. Not only is the food subpar with an outdated interior design, but the owner blatantly mistreats his staff creating an uncomfortable environment as a customer. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else!!
Good food but we came at a busy time and things got dropped. Took over an hour to get our food and we didn't get a lot that we had asked for.
Great food, coffee, and service. Love coming here.
This is by far the best food I've ever eaten! YES, the wait is long but this is not the type of place you go if you are in a hurry! The value that is placed on the food is well worth the wait! I would wait twice as long if I had too. The food is AMAZING! I had the PJ French Toast, it was so freaking delicious that I almost lost my mind! Trust me, if you are ever nearby you HAVE to give this place a try!!! Ask for Petra or Lee for great service!
Disappointing. Wouldn't recommend. I'd give it a O star if possible.
Ordered chocolate chips in my pancakes and got none... my husband ordered a side of bacon and got none... party of four seated before us had never got meals by the time we left. Good luck!
This place is amazing. We just stopped by the tobacco store next door and decided to get lunch thinking it was a typical diner.... We were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Everything tastes fresh and was cooked with artisans hands.the salads were made with fresh local ingredients, the eggs were free range and the lobster and beef were delicious. Thanks so much for the awesome experienc!!!
Excellent selections for breakfast and lunch.
Excellent food and service at a good price.
Pretty solid breakfast place
Breakfast was fantastic. Not over priced, fits the budget. Very family oriented. Made from scratch. Delicious
New Mimosa menu starting today (July 2017) the strawberry lemonade is recommendable. We ordered the Eggs Benny with Canadian bacon and another with maple sausage. The canadian bacon was "really good; yeah it was really nice
Great food! Great service!!
Uniqe breakfasts and burgers, a bit pricey for what you get.
Ordered lunch and cookies through DealDash...my double bacon BLT wrap was delicious, but the brownie was NOT edible...drier than the Sahara desert...kinda disappointing
Excellent adventure in different menu items, definitely not boring and worth the drive! A cheerful environment and Great service too!
Love the mushroom and Swiss omelettes!
Pancakd combinations to die for. Bacon! Deliciousness is top notch. Went two days in a row.
This is by far my favorite restaurant I've been to. Not just because the food is amazing but the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. 10/10 would eat again
Breakfast buritto was amazing
I walked out after waiting 1.5 hours for pancakes and chicken tenders...
Love coming here...very cozy.. Nice breakfast
We gave it a second chance. Maybe they don't have their best chef working on a Tuesday but none of the food was seasoned and as a result very bland. The biscuits and gravy was a watery pile of ground sausage dumped on top of a non split biscuit. I don't know, I could be wrong because they have Paleo and gluten free products available but we made no mention of any dietary restrictions. So I don't see any excuse for a non gravy sausage gravy. I looked like the chef could care less that we were paying $15 for it. Our orders were wrong as well. So a miscommunication between our waitress and kitchen staff. Coffee was excellent and the staff was friendly. My meal was wrong but meat and eggs were delicious. Not going back.
Favorite for gluten free pancakes
Came for breakfast. Has a very large selection of different kinds of pancakes. I had the banana nut bread pancakes and they were excellent (posted pic). Plenty of egg combinations to choose from also. Highly recommend.
Great food and friendly service.
Good but too pricey
Good food, nice place, friendly service.
Have only been for breakfast and never on a weekend, service always friendly, food always yummy, service friendly and many items are priced well, some too high for this kind of venue. Always feel satisfied when I leave for the rest of my day....
Delicious food, top notch service!
Great service and food!
Awesome pancakes, plus gluten free and dairy free delicious options!
Don't go during peak hours. Food was TERRIBLE. Fresh toast was burned on the bottom and undercooked everywhere else. Sausage links were undercooked but it was the only thing I could eat (will check later for food poisoning). My wife is not a picky eater and was hungry - did not touch her food! Hash browns were covered with salt , nobody could eat even a bite. The cook was either overwhelmed or didn't care.
Favorite breakfast spot in Connecticut. Paleo options are delicious. Food can be a bit slower but the quality is absolutely there. Would be upset if they changed anything just to appease some angry reviewers.
Food was excellent, same with the service from our waitress, however over an hour for 2 egg sandwiches and French fries is a bit ridiculous. Little to no communication to the customers until after 2 tables bailed after having waited an hour for their food. Too bad, cute place and good food.
Greeted at the door by the smiling hostess. It was Saturday and very busy. We did not have to wait long for a table. The waiter was attentive and friendly. He left a pot of coffee at our table (love that) and he checked in multiple times. Food was great and very reasonably priced. My new favorite breakfast spot!
Extensive menu, tasty breakfast, and very clean. The service was slow, however that's not a bad thing when you're in good company. And I would definitely recommend the "Southern Tour" breakfast dish if you like grits, biscuits and gravy.
Great food. Didn't like Mexican breakast chorizo wrap. Veg were uncooked and added to center of omelette. Awesome selection of pancakes. I would love to return and try something else
First time and will return very soon. Enjoyed the French toast! Was noticing other dishes going to customers and they looked great.
So I've been going here since you guys opened I want this morning I got there at 7. It was fine our waitress and forgot about us left the food on the counter. every time I go on Sunday there's usually a gentleman working with a hat he's very pleasant and gets the job done. Today he wasn't there and everything was crazy when we're done we had to get another server for boxes and our check. I Won't Go Back ever again. The server was Petra
Great Food
Always delicious and exceptional menu and welcoming relaxed atmosphere. Everything is freshly made. And Staff went out of their way to make me some garlic bread points that was not on their menu but I had to have to go with my carrot apple soup. Above and beyond.
Excellent breakfast there with delicious home fries. Server Angel is an angel. Big pot of delicious coffee.
Fantastic brunch for Easter, Mother’s Day, etc. Terrific service, all staff are very friendly. Food is delicious! Never a bad meal for breakfast or lunch! Clean and organized!
Food was excellent. Cute little place. Visited on 3/4 for breakfast. Waitress needs further training though.
Love love love the paleo pancake, secret is out. Tons of choices for a small shop, plus outside seating seasonally.
Very overpriced seriously this is breakfast.... a two egg omlete with toast homfries should not cost $10...toast was cold no butter must have sat out a while...asked for a soda refill and was charged an additional $2.50 such a petty price gouge...took an hour to eat was very slow would never reccomend
I called ahead specifically because I didn't want my party of 5 to have to wait a long time (a long time meaning over an hour). They were very polite on the phone and said there wasn't a wait at all. When we arrived, we waited about 15 minutes for reasons I'm unsure of, as there were about 5 empty but still dirty tables. Looking past this out of excitement for their multitude of gluten free options, we were seated. About 30 minutes later, (again, 3 empty tables remained), we placed our drink and food order. Our drinks came out about 15 minutes later, and our food about 45 minutes after that. The food was good, but we were charged extra for 3 coffees we didn't order. Clearly, they were short staffed, even for having empty tables. We are patient people, however if someone calls ahead, do them a favor of letting them know there might be longer waiting periods because of a shortage of staff. Our entire day revolved around how long this restaurant was going to take, and we ended up missing out on the whole reason we traveled out that way in the first place, all because of the extended wait times.
Cozy, pleasant atmosphere with good food and friendly service
Amazing joint
Fantastic corned beef hash!
Service was slow and we were there early, not terribly busy. Food was very overpriced for gluten free options. One large gluten free pancake with bacon was $15! GF French toast was tiny and a bit dry. Very disappointing. $48 for breakfast for one adult and two kids
Great Place
Lots of great breakfast and lunch restaurants in the area but, despite a great menu, unfortunately the lackluster service makes this one to avoid. The staff was initially very friendly and the menu is impressive. However, when our server Kara stopped about 30 minutes after we'd arrived and placed our order to ask "did I ever bring you your food?" we'd realized we made a mistake in coming here. (Friendly advice to servers everywhere: "did I ever bring you your food" is *never* something you want to ask your patrons!). In addition to dropping the ball on bringing our order, the only other time our server checked on us was to bring us our check--on which we were also overcharged for food that was never actually brought to the table. As a consolation, we were offered a paltry 15% off our bill. I'd personally rather have my hour and a half back and a chance to visit one of the great other breakfast restaurants in the area.
The bomb B
Really great food but my server did NOT seem into it! Asked for more sugar since the sugar caddy we had was out of regular sugar. She brought us another caddy but it only had two regular sugar packets for four people.
Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs
Awesome breakfast spot. Pot of coffee on the table, great selection of dishes and the biggest and best pancakes in CT! Give it a try it's worth the wait. Seriously, the pancakes are legit
Great service and food! My boyfriend and I tried the Bacon Apple Pie pancake and it was delicious!! Best pancake I have ever had ! I’m so glad we found this cute restaurant while visiting Connecticut, will definitely visit again.
So Cute food was very GOOD
Exellent menu my cob salad was legendary. And so many Paleo items
This is an amazing place for breakfast and lunch. There are known for their amazing pancakes. They they also strive for healthy eating in a lot of their dishes. Highly recommended. Great burgers and other sandwiches and soups.. A++
Service has fallen short lately.
Had a great experience. My son has T1D and they had several paleo/lower carb breakfast options for him. The food was also absolutely delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely go back.
Wonderful delicious breakfast with lots of healthy options.
Best food ever. Need a special order, he will cook it whatever way you need. Dairy free, gluten free, etc. A must stop if in the New London shorline area.
Best pancakes I've ever had!! This menu was so elaborate and had great options for diet and health conscious foodies.
Paleo.
Slowest restaurant. Waited 46 minutes for scrambled eggs and fruit cup. I didnt even order potatoes or toast. My order should have taken a lot less time! Terrible. Not going back.
Perfect Paleo
Delicious food and great friendly service. Definitely worth the visit!
Great little place. Awesome food and staff. Great prices!
We eat here every chance we get. Organic offerings for me and down home country cooking for the hubby. Service is always with a smile and fast!!
Lots of options, including Paleo, for breakfast and lunch.
Amazing food! Great people awesome little place
We've come here many times and tried many different things. It's always delicious.
I can honestly by far the worst service we have ever encountered. We arrived a little before 1pm, only ones in the restaurant. Our order was fairly simple 2 burgers , 1 chocolate chip pancake and some chicken tenders. Over 45 minutes for a pancake to come out. Other people arrived after us got food and where done and ready for check....and yet the rest of our food was not out! So we asked again what has happened to our food, finally a burger order comes out . Raw not pink and missing some of the toppings. Sent it back askedfor our check. So 3 people didn't get to walked out aggravated. Again worst service ever.
I feel bad for the staff here to work under such poor management. I called an order in for pick up. Just one burger. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I walked in 20 minutes later to discover the cook didn't even begin to make my order. The server was very nice and apologized over and over again. She went into the kitchen to see when I could expect my order. What should have been a 5 second conversation turned into a yelling fest by the cook. I heard the server ask, frustratedly, can you at least give me a time I can tell the customer when he can expect his food to finished by. The cook would not give her a time as he has terrible time management skills and cannot deal with stress well, which can be concluded from the evidence presented before me. The server came back out of the kitchen embarrassed as expected to not be able to give me a time it would be ready. Understandably I cancelled my order, never to return. Cook, if you're reading this. Treat your employees better and take a breath from time to time. Yoga would probably do you wonders.
Almost did not come here because of the reviews about how long it takes to get the food. Guys let me tell you that this is by far the BEST pancakes I have ever had in my entire life(and I have tried many batters). Yes the place was packed and it did take a little longer than usual, however this food is completely worth the wait. My husband and I sipped on fantastic coffee while we waited. The service was excellent. Everyone was very pleasant and enthusiastic! The food is out of this world! Everything is super fresh and flavorful! Will definitely be coming back here with the kids. Once you try this food you will see it is definitely worth the wait! Thank you Petra, Lee and the rest of the staff for the excellent service!
The Paleo Benny with sweet potato and bacon hash was just perfect!
As far as small town breakfast place goes, this one is excellent. Good coffee. Excellent non-greasy omelette, good salad, good french toast and pancakes. Certainly the place to go for breakfast.
Food was good, hands down the worst service. We waited 20 minutes for water, but worse was the fact that after 15 minutes of us sitting around clearly done plates were stacked at edge of table, no server still. We had 1 woman take our order and never saw her again. This was a relatively empty time 5 tables were seated inside and 2 tables outside. After waiting with empty plates, empty glasses, for 15-20 i just decided to go ask for our check. If service was good like even just average this place could easily be 4 stars.
The food is awesome at the tea kettle kitchen. The service was great and s wonderful atmosphere.
Big portions local with super friendly locals
The.best corn beef hash that I have ever eaten. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The breakfast skillet was load3d with meat and cheese. The staff is very friendly. Service was fast.
The Tea kettle has been a great stop for breakfast but over time the service has gone down hill. The food is still good but having to wait 11/2 hours to get our food is outrageous. We showed up at 8:30 and asked for a table for 6 and was told we had to wait 30 min. Thats normal but as we waitet 10 other people in 4 parties sat before us. 2 tables next to each other that had been free when we walked in could have been put together but they desided to sit others that came in after us at the available tables. We finally sat and waited 10 more min. For our drink order. Then we waited an hour for or food to come out. Also our coffee pot had been empty and we didnt even get checked on until I got up and walked over to the counter with our empty coffee pot did we get service. Not sure if it was because the manager was our server or not but it was not a great experience and we will not be back.We didnt mind the 30 min. Drive before but as of now its no longer worth it.. Its to bad because the food is really good but its just not worth waiting over a hour to get..
Gross food and rude waiter. Ordered Cinnamon French Toast it had too much Cinnamon on it and the texture was very strange. I took one bite and did not touch the rest. When the "waiter' came back I asked "what kind of bread is this made with?" He responded "HE makes it" .."why ? You don't like it??" And stormed off! He returned a few minutes later took the plate and left returned again slapped down the check said " I took it off". The overpriced pancake was tasty however therefore they get 1star.
Nice spot, close to I-95, massive pancakes. Try the corned beef hash.
It's clean real food I just didn't find it that flavorful maybe lunch will be better I'll have to give it a try
Had the most yummy cinnamon bun pancake,,
Great food fast service even when extremely busy.
I don't usually ever review a place unless it's a good one but... My fiancé and I stopped in to try something new (being about 20min out from the area) but we were both severely disappointed and won't return. Service was great despite being packed but seriously, $12 for ONE dry biscuit and a "scrambled" fake egg that resembled McDonald's. The gravy was sweet too which is weird. The Italian sausage I had on my breakfast sandwich was good though.
Food was very good.A big section of specials to select from. The wait staff was very friendly.
Awesome food, friendly staff. Kitchen gets a little behind when the place is busy but it is worth the wait!
Great food, and a lovely staff who are all so patient with screaming little ones
Excellent food and service
Great food,good service, moderate price
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, excellent price!
One of the best breakfast and lunch places in Southeastern CT. Lots of menu choices. Had a chicken BLT spinach wrap and it hit the spot. Service is great. Comfy atmosphere. Will be back soon.
specialize in pancakes, many flavors to choose from..
Great food, friendly staff, prompt service! Good value!
Vegan. Excellent at adjusting their menu to your needs.
Came here on vacation with my family and it was great ! I have Celiac and they have gluten free (paleo) waffles , pancakes , and French toast . I got the paleo pancake ! It was the size of my plate and so good ! I got the homemade corned beef hash which was amazing as well . My family got omelettes and my husband got the double stack of pancakes , which were so huge and he said they were awesome ! We went on a Tuesday late morning and there was no wait and the service was great !
They said they couldn’t make an omelette without milk which doesn’t make sense especially because they call themselves a paleo friendly restaurant. Also extremely over priced.
Travis who was our server was great. My husband had HOMEMADE cinnamon french toast with fresh strawberries and I had a waffle both very well done. Coffee was wonderful. A little pricy but usual for old Saybrook. We will go back.
Charming place. Awesome extensive menu. I'm not a big fan of pancakes but they make them special here. I had lemon poppy with fresh strawberries and pure maple syrup. Delicious. Well worth the wait, about 15 minutes for food, not bad for fresh delicious food. Oh and the service was excellent too. Our waitress Kara was super and others willing to assist. Will come back tomorrow, again for breakfast, before we head back home.
By far the WORST experience we have had. We were the only people in the dining area when we arrived. The couple that came in aftet us got their food first, finished, and were waiting for their check BEFORE we got our food. After waiting 45 minutes for our simple order (1 pancake, chicken tenders, 2 burgers). My youngest daughter got her single pancake and finished. A few minutes later my wife got her burger, which we had to send back, because it was missing the egg (which is part of the burger she ordered) and the burger was in fact RAW (not pink). After spending an hour there we left hungry and severely aggravated. The manager did not charge us for the drinks or the single pancake. WE WILL NEVER RETURN.
Whether you're vegan, gluten free or just s good lover, this place is great for lunch or breakfast!
We found out about this restaurant when the owner catered our wedding through his other company impressive catering ... we keep coming back for more !! Lots of delicious healthy options and some even more delicious not so healthy options !! Great place to bring the family - great energy - the owner is extremely detail oriented and runs his business with so much care and it totally shows !! I would highly recommend this restaurant !! You won’t be disappointed !!
Loved this cute little breakfast spot!! Service was super great! Definitely recommend the chunky monkey pancakes and the boozy pancake mimosa! Delicious!
Best breakfast I have ever had. Very diverse menu. Expect to wait in the summer for a table.
Located in a little strip mall not much to look at but breakfast was excellent. Gave us our own pot of decaf, cute decor and best of all they got our order right !
Great service, food and selection. Kid friendly!
Great variety of pancakes, service is quick and efficient. The owner keeps everything running smoothly and makes you feel welcome. The apple pie bacon pancake is quite good.
Fresh food and a great variety!
Someone needs to light a fire under the cooks butt. Cuz 2nd time here and service is snail slow. Over an hour for eggs is ridiculous. You get your coffee and then you don't see your waitress again for an hour. Maybe the cook thinks he's some kind of artist back there. He shouldn't cuz his food is Bland and he is slow as molasses. We sat and watched all the tables around us and everybody was getting upset. I believe this is a regular thing here day in and day out. So if you're looking to just hang out for a couple hours to have breakfast this is the place for you. If you are in any kind of hurry or have things to do do not come here.
Tea kettle is great place to eat breakfast and has the best pancake menu I have ever seen and they're the only paleo gluten-free and organic restaurant in the area
Very good breakfast with a lot of original recipes. Dog are welcome at the outside tables.
Super safe for celiacs!
Love this place! Local delight! Everything is good!
