The breakfast and lunch are quite good especially for a diner, but there dinner items are horrible. I order the stuffed shrimp, it came with a choice of soup or salad, I ordered new England clam chowder. The flavor of the chowder was alright, it just needed pepper. The main course was served with roasted potatoes, with were quite good, and steamed vegetables, also ok for a dinner. The problem was with the stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was over cooked, and very chewy, but the stuffing was the biggest problem. I couldn't taste anything but a Incredibly strong vinegar flavor witch combined wit the lemon that is served on top of the shrimp made it very hard to swallow. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the service was well and my waitress was very nice. I would recommend this diner for breakfast and lunch, just don't order dinner.

Much better than I could of ever expected. Found a true gem down on the post road in Guilford. Staff was nice and checked in on me a few times, kept my water filled up and was jist simply amazing I got the steak asked asked for it rare and got it rare, was super juicy and good. I will 100%be back

Stopped there from a drive from MA to NY. The food is ok to good. Nothing exceptional. Very diner like. Got a Greek beef gyro with fries. The fries were the standard frozen package style and the gyro was the frozen slides of meat that are heated up on a grill and thrown in a gyro. My wife had the chicken ala Greco, which in the US means, anything sprinkled with feta cheese. That was nice but not a Greek dish. Environment is clean and it had plenty of seats when we went (7pm on a Wednesday). Worth stopping at if it's on your way, but not a place I would seek out!

My wife and I had yesterday breakfast at The Browstone House, Guilford. The staff was really nice and the food was delicious and fresh. Don't miss the Panini Wonder! We saw a lot of regular locals who were eating there. We loved it!

Everything was great until we were walking to our car and a waitress came Running after us saying we took the credit card receipt and didn’t pay. I explained we have it to the manager and told our waitress we left it with him. She said okay and started to walk in. I said I’ll come in and make sure since I have never been chased out of a restaurant and accused of not paying my bill. Our waitress then came out and said they found it. I was mortified and disgusted. My husband noticed the owner staring at us the entire meal. We won’t be back!

When we first moved to Guilford a few weeks ago, we stumbled down the street to the nearest restaurant that we could find. Thank goodness it was the Brownstone House, a converted Friendly's restaurant that is a surprising and rewarding blend of everyday comfort and class. The interior is revamped from its original finish to more tasteful surroundings, but it's still family-style seating and invites you to just relax and have a good meal. What you get is a great meal, though. The quality of the food is exceptional, with generous portions and high quality ingredients throughout. I had a chicken scarpiello that was great, with wide vegetables done just perfectly. Most recently I had one of their signature specials, chicken jambalaya. My mother's family has some of its roots in New Orleans, where my great-grandmother's restaurant would have been proud to have served this dish - a perfect balance of ingredients and spices. Bread for the table is French baguettes, and desserts are sumptuous but not over-fussy or over-huge. The service, while not exceptional, is certainly fine and friendly. If you're expecting luxury along with your food you'll probably be disappointed, but to get a real meal prepared properly out of real food at diner prices in an atmosphere that your whole family can relax in is a luxury of its own kind. For that, I'll give the Brownstone House a strong rating for its exceptional value.

This joint has a great atmosphere, welcoming staff and delicious food. Their outdoor seating is perfect for a summer day. Tried their french toast with a cup of fruits, which was pretty awesome. Took off a star because felt that their omelette was a little dry/overcooked. Home fries were done to perfection. Highly recommend this spot for breakfast.

My favorite place for lunch in the area. The waitresses are always so kind and fun. The cooks are nice too and great at preparing fresh foods any time of day. Also great patio dining in the warmer months, I like to visit and eat outside with my pup.

Only good thing I will say is that the food was good, however; the customer service is lacking. We went in we were greeted at the door which that one person was nice but once we sat down we had to wait about 15 minute before a wait staff came to our table to ask us out order. The girls and knife were dirty and under the table there were girls and napkins on the floor, the we decided that we would ask for plastic utensils. The waitress had a attitude and when she came back she drop the girls on the table and walked away. Once we were done I paid without leaving a tip and the ladies I was with also did not leave a tip and when we were leaving all the wait staff decided to tip shame us by saying "thank you ladies for the tip have a great day" would not ever go back.

I was expecting something a little different. It turned out to be a family run diner with a fancy name. I had the Beef Gyro listed under paninis, but it came wrapped in pita, as it should. It was good, but I thought the "cucumber sauce" was a little lacking. The onion rings we're nicely done and not greasy. The restaurant was clean and the waitresses we're kind and attentive.
