I've been here multiple times because work colleagues want to come here for some reason . Dark and dingy vibe. Always smells like a dirty wet mop . Food is just ok. It's cheap so I guess that's why people like it.

BBQ was flavorful. Atmosphere is classic New England near the shore roadhouse. I arrived hungry and left content. If I loved traffic, I'd go again soon but it might take me a while to get there. It's 2 blocks from I-95. So if you want to get out of traffic ~ or you're local ~GO! Relax. Seeing as I live a good solid hour north of Stamford, I'll stop in next time I head that far south.

Standalone BBQ joint and bar located a half-mile from Cove Beach in Stamford, on Darien border. Convenient to I-95. Some river views. Currently under construction but open. Nachos with chili was good but medium sized.

We love the Boatyard. Cozy little place right on the Noroton River, you can look out the window at the shore birds. Food is pretty darn tasty, and the staff treats us like family. I love the white chili, and the usually have good specials. They've always got a few craft beers on draft, and more in bottles, as well as the usual American and European beers you'd expect. Reasonable prices for Stamford too, so what's not to like...

Unfortunately, this place has gone down hill. Beware of Patty the bartender. No personality, sense of humor, a tontof attitude and minimal bar tending skills. -I gave the place 2 stars because the food is still pretty decent.

I have been going to the Boatyard for years now. Why? Not just the food, but the staff. Frank the owner/ chef is a great guy and is right there with his staff working hard to ensure you have a great experience. Megan, Paul, Gina, Konnie, and everyone else there work their butts off to make sure you are happy. The food is definitely the best bbq I have had north of the Carolinas, and the Burgers are top 3 that I have had anywhere in the world. Everything is cooked to the temperature you request. The side dishes are awesome, best cornbread around, and even the Mac n Cheese is amazing. I could go on and on.....great entertainment, location, prices......if u have never been there go. If you have, I will see you soon!! PS...... For those anonymous idiots who slammed the food here with one star, someone actually calling it a plate of garbage, at least put ur name and face up with ur cowardly and obviously tasteless criticisms. Did u even speak to management about ur issue? No you did not because it would have been rectified immediately. There's no excuse for u to intentionally try to harm someone's livelihood without having given them a chance to fix the problem. So, for anyone reading these reviews, ignore the cowards who post anonymously.

My husband has wanted to bring me here for years, I was very disappointed. I got the "h- bomb" stuffed barbecued pork. Pork tasted like it was microwaved. Staff unfriendly. I sat for a good 45 minutes and was never asked if everything was ok. I would not return.

The food was GREAT!!! The construction in front makes it looks closed but after going in and reading such wonderful reviews we knew we was in the right spot. Thank you all!!! The two young ladies who helped. YALL WAS GREAT!!!!! If I'm on Connecticut again I will most definitely come back.

Group of about 20 of us got together for Happy Hour today. Atmosphere was calm and relaxed watching the river flow by out the back windows. Service was fantastic. We had the waitstaff hopping. Drinks were served fast. Appetizers of flat bread pizza, quessadilla, and wings were great. Ordered the house Angus burger and fries. Requested well-done and was served nice and juicy and seasoned just right. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back!!

Great neighborhood bar and grill that serves up a nice variety of food with a cozy vibe. My girlfriend and I live around the corner and stop by at least a couple times a month for fried calamari, coconut crusted cod, fish and chips, and barbecue. The specials have never let us down either. Check it out!

Good. Not amazing. If you are on a tinder date or meeting some friends after work, perfect place. I went with people from work and got pulled pork pizza, nachos fries and onion rings all good. Calamari was fair. Pleasant staff and nice view of the stream. I would give it 3 and half, but not four.

No service at all. We been seating for 20 mins and our appetizers came but no plates. Waited for 5 mins still no plates. Can’t get anyone for help bring as some plates!!! Then food are good but very very bad service. Will not go back again!!!!!

Good location. A nice place away from the busy highway. Briskets, ribs, pulled pork, and chickens are available. Surprising good BBQ in urban setting. The creek runs along the back of the building gives out the impression that you are on the boat, as tables are close to the windows, allowing the outside to comes in. Service is adequate.

Went in for lunch, have been a long time fan of the bbq joint downstairs. Anyway... Don't come here if you are in a rush. Service is slow, although our waitress did try to keep us happy. Once our food came, we all had sandwiches, it was all very good. The sweet potato fries were the best I've had and the sandwiches were on very tasty Portuguese roll. If the service was faster it would've been 4 stars.

It was Great!!!! Me and my friend where stuffed at the end of some specular ribs. But that didbt stop us from going ahead and ordering two Grand Marniers and a red velvet à la Mode. Wait!? How could have forgotten the fried calamari #musthave #mustgo

Great hideaway bar/restaurant on Stamford-Darien Post Road border. Aside from the very friendly bar staff and cool ‘English Pub’ interior...definitely try all the barbecue, seafood gumbo, white bean chili, and French onion soup my favs. Joe (owner) makes some amazing Italian specialties, too. Great place!

It can be hit and miss here. Generally very good ribs. Last meal there ribs were barely lukewarm. We were're too hungry to wait for them to be heated up. Told the waitress at the end. Tipped her accordingly for her work not the chefs. He owed us money. :)

It started off well. The wings were great and then it fell off a cliff. The BBQ platter I ordered was dry. The brisket was not tender. It was overcooked. The smoked turkey had a Sandy texture, as it was that dry. The ribs were so so, but also very dry. Would not recommend this place. My girlfriend and I stopped in Stamford and came across Smoking Joe's. We noticed on their website that they advertised happy hour appetizer and drink specials monday-friday and decided to check it out. The waiter informed us that happy hour was only monday-thursday and they had no specials and that it was only for patrons at the bar (which we would have gladly sat at if offered). Despite the false advertisement we ordered the nachos with brisket and a order of wings as well as a "home-made" lemonade cocktail. The wings were actually pretty good although dry like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. The cocktail was minutemade lemonade with vodka for $12. Absolutely not homemade. The nachos were the worst plate of nachos I have ever had. How anyone can call that cold, gristly pile of catfood "brisket" is beyond me. We brought the false advertisement on their website up to the waiter and he said he would let the manager know but didn't seem to really care much and did nothing to compensate us for the only reason we went into the place to begin with. Bad business practices to not honor their advertisement. Horrible excuse for a BBQ joint. Stay away.
