We have been eating at Tagara since last 3 years and it used to be one of our favorite place to have Indian cuisine....ordered food from there for most of our parties and gathering but sorry to say since they merged with Tawa, food quality is worst and not worth of a single penny

Me and my friends went for a lunch buffet thinking their biriyani will be good but unfortunately we have been served very old biriyani and other food which was in spread was not fresh... totally disappointed on a Saturday lunch....wish I could have negative rating.

Two stars after considering taste of food, very very poor customer service. Felt very unwelcomed with the way the employee treated us, a smile or little bit of courtesy would have been appreciated. The boiled egg in the chicken biryani was very cold and chicken 65 is not even Indian style chicken 65. First time ever walked out of restaurant without leaving any tip. I hope the owner reads this comment and I believe the employee name is krupal.

Good food. Nice cute and cozy little dining room. Had the Chana Masala lunch box. It was good. Not the best nor the worst I've ever had. The side veggie that came with it was really good. Don't know the name of it but had peas and something like tofu in a creamy sauce. The box was $9.99 and it had more than enough food including the above items Naan, and a Mango lassi. I was full and then some. More like 3.75 stars here. Couldn't get to 4 because of the presentation of the food. Don't forget to click the like button below. Thanks!

This is very good Indian restaurant with nice ambiance. I go there at least once every week for dine in or take out. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The owner is a great person. He pays special attention to the guests so that you leave completely satisfied. I recommend this place to try once if you are looking for good indian food. If you like spicy Indo Chinese veg - try chilli paneer and manchow soup. Loved garlic/onion naan with kadai paneer. You have nice choice of non vegetarian items as well.

Went to have lunch buffet recently with two of my friends. Worst service as we saw dust in all 3 glasses of water.They have changed all 3 glasses , second time also dust was in water. In buffet except chicken biriyani all other items were really bad specially chicken tandoori. I would have given 0 rating if it would have been an option here.

I had been to this restaurant last week. I hated everything I ordered except for the Manchow and cilantro soups. Everything is Peppery. Seemed like they had put black pepper in everything (even in butter milk). Being a Biriyani point one should know how to make biriyani. Worst Biriyani I have ever had. The only good thing about this place is that the waiter and the receptionist are good. They greeted us very well. They will have to change the recipe if they want to survive in stamford against pretty good Indian restaurants like Tawa, Kaati N More and Navratna.

Horrible overpriced undercooked food. I had ordered chicken lollipop and chicken kohlapuri these dishes are supposed to be spicy instead I got horribly sweet dessert version of these dishes. I will never get food from this place again.

Tanga Biryani Point moved across the street, taking over the space previously occupied by Tawa. The decor is simple and uncluttered. The staff, many carried forward from the previous restaurant, are experienced. Best of all, the menu is new and the food very tasty.

Excellent food! I was here for sunday buffet Each and every item was freshly prepared and delicious. Menu included many items. I tried noodles, babycorn Manchurian,pav bhaji, chole bhatura,chicken kababs, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, goat curry, fish curry. This is just a half of their actual menu. Goat curry was at its best! Never had such delicious mutton curry other than my mom's. I totally love this place. Can't wait for more Sundays! Adult buffet ~$17 Kids buffet ~ $11

Best indian food in stamford, but the Ambience is not that great. Try to stick to the Buffet. The real bad aspect of this place is the don't have a good wash room. The number non-veg varieties are unbelievable for this price range.

The food was tasty but Chicken tikki masala was unlike any had before. No sauce, dry but flavorful. Had ordered a chicken kebab dish as a second as we didn’t want two saucy items so overall a little dry. We usually go to Coromandel in Darien but today is Monday so they are closed. Portions WAY smaller than Coromandel.

Went for buffet lunch for couple of weekend. Ambience is ok and less lit place. We were 1:30pm with place to sit easily available. Not so crowded. Food variety is there with different type of Indian cuisine. Tried all veg food but Food was not so warm and taste was ok except Dal makhani that was delicious.

Never ever you should have food here! Yesterday I called for home delivery... so the first experience was, rather then to deliver in 60 minutes, it was a 110 minutes wait! Experience got worsen when after so long I had the worst taste chilli paneer and vegitable biryani...! Chilli paneer was watery, only garlic was there in the gravy and everything else was missing! They even don't know how much capsicum should be cooked in chilli paneer! It should be viscous and should have level of integrands in it with the rightly cooked capsicum! Biryani... wow.. they should change their name from Biryani point to "worst biryani point"! There is a basic requirement of biryani to put "Dum" in it... apart from yellow rice (which should not be totally yellow in ANY type of biryani) and lots of BIG pieces of vegetables (which should be small to mix well with the rice)... everything else was messy! Take your call... I tried to explain everything! If you need good food to calm down your hunger, don't spoil your appetite on Tangra Biryani Point!

I really enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant. i visited for the first time with my family ,the food was fabulous. The service was outstanding and the staff was very attentive to the customers as they arrived. the menu was so diverse which made choosing your meal difficult. I had coriander soup and jinga manchurain appetizers it was so tasty, but for the main course i chose the hara bhara sea bass ,cumin lamb,chicken kali mirch kebab n goat biryani..we are very impressed by the freshness of the food. This was some of the best indian food i have had, We love this place and we will be back !!

Amazing Indian food at a fair price. The goat curry is exquisite and the buffet has a wider menu selection than most budget places. It's a bit hard to spot, but they do have parking at the back which is a blessing.

Literally amazing, I've tried most of the Indian restaurants in the area, this one is hands down better than anything else by FAR. Even delivery the food shows up piping hot and still looking amazing, everything is leaps and bounds better than any other restaurant I've tried. I've been to an stupid expensive Indian wedding in NYC... that was the only time I've ever had anything that was even approaching the quality and flavor of Tangra.

This restaurant needs a lot of attention. Food quality is perfect but quantity is horrible. Dishes are never filled unless ask the staff 4-5 times and only then they refill food dishes

I ordered the chicken schezuan noodle and chilly chicken, the noodle just had an extra color the chicken in both the noodle and gravy was uncooked,stale and very chewy. They took extra time to get my order ready and this is what they served, terrible experience. I also tried their chicken 65 and chicken Rogan Ghosht, the 65 was not at all the recipe, they had onions and peppers like chilly chicken. Also the curry was an overdose of cinnamon.

I think they were getting ready for some catering when we went, and could not give us full attention, i wont hold it against thrm though. Overall, if you want to try out some good Indian food, this is a good place to drop by.

Wish I could give 0 stars. We ordered for Chefs special tandoori chicken which is mentioned as whole chicken tandoori for $19.99 in the website. We received 4 small pieces of a chicken for which they charged $16.99 ( whereas the website says 14.99). When we called them they say that they only have this tandoori chicken. When we complained that it’s a rip off as 4 piece chicken for 16.99 doesn’t really make sense. They say the price on the website is yet to revised. They do not have the courtesy of apologizing. So people please do not bother going to their website. Definitely not recommending this restaurant.

Tried this restaurant when I was driving back on merit parkway. As my family is vegetarian, we prefer to eat in Indian restaurant. The ambiance was wholesome. At first I was not expecting much but after ordering the food really satisfied our taste buds. Gobi manchurian was nice a crispy (not many restaurants get it right). Tried new disk veg malvani and biryani and I did not regret ordering it. Overall experience was nice! Must try.

I recently ordered from Tangra for delivery. I have to say I was impressed, though not blown away. I order the Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65. The chicken for the biryani was on the bone which I usually don't see in Biryani. That was a little annoying, but the food tasted great and the chicken was prepared perfectly. It could have been spicier but I will be sure to include that in the instructions. I wasn't as impressed with the Chicken 65, but it wasn't terrible. I've had this dish at many restaurants and its usually dry and has a nice spice to it, which Tangra didn't. I wish they provided more condiments with the food, but again it will be something I'll ask for when I order from them. Delivery was a little slow, so plan accordingly.
