One of my go-to places for a quick lunch. The food is good and the Lunch Buffet is very convenient for a fast turnaround. It's a casual atmosphere and family friendly. Parking is normally OK on main St (within a block of the venue). I recommend it.

My absolute favorite Indian restaurant (and I've been to many). I live in Florida now and always make sure to come back to Tandoor whenever I'm visiting CT. Raj is so friendly and is really a sweet person and great businessman. I highly recommend the Navrattan Korma, although any good here is flavorful and worth trying. Added bonus: all you can eat lunch buffet for under $10.

I would give this place 5 stars, if the service wasn't so awful. The food was incredible. Some of the best Indian fare I've had in the states in a long, long time. The Matar Paneer blew my mind. So, rich, with great cheese, fresh peas, and an incredible sauce. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, the poori satisfyingly chewy, and the dal extra creamy. On the other hand, I was the only patron in the restaurant around 4pm on Wednesday and was mostly ignored by the only server. He chose to chat on the phone when my food came up and sat on the other side of the dining room and watched television the entire time I ate, not having any clue as to whether I needed water or my check. However, I still suggest visiting, because the quality of the food overwhelms the poor service.

I don't know if I should say it's "Americanized". The food was good but I ordered it hot. It was medium at best. At India's, in Denver, hot will make you sweat, this did not, but the flavor was excellent. I guess I wanted to sweat.

This is absolutely the best Indian food I have ever had. Food is always super fresh and I usually come during the buffet! Food has immense flavor and I believe the perfect amount of spices. Not overly spicy but they would certainly accommodate your spice craving if you ask. The service is always prompt and not only that they let us try new menu items or beverages to try on the house, in my opinion that is pure love.

I think it's one of the best Indian restaurant in Connecticut. The smell of curry and masalas invites you in, food and desserts look awesome and taste even better, service is friendly and quick. I felt they didn't have a lot variety, but everything in table was good.

Awful experience. If I could give a Zero I would. Had a Groupon and owner refused to honor it. All this despite the fact that I called ahead of time, spoke to the same person and he agreed to accept it. Not to mention service was poor (we had a party of 6 and we all got the buffet) dirty dishes were piled and had to be reminded of masala tea that was ordered. Aforementioned buffet was sub-mediocre. Constantly out of tandoori (their namesake) chicken and only a few items to choose from. Stale or dried out naan. Oh, and despite what they advertise, the do not have lunch specials. Lunch menu is same as dinner with dishes starting at $12 and up to $19. Abandon all hope ye who enter here...

Great food at a reasonable price. The lunch buffet is only $9. The inside has a formal/casual feel which is nice. Indian food is a little spicy. They use potato, peas, chicken and lamb in many of their dishes. I think it’s delicious.

Fantastic family owned restaurant. The food was delicious and well priced (lunch buffet was only $10). The staff was incredibly friendly and made great suggestions for someone not familiar with Indian food-try the garlic naan and mango lassi. Will definitely go back!

New owners have made this place even better, Best Indian food in Middletown! Not only is the food great but their customer service follows suit. They forgot to deliver one of our appetizers which was no big deal but the delivery guy said he promised to come back when he was on the area to give me some. They called today to deliver them along with an extra meal to compensate! A+

Went here for their brunch buffet, which is a great value. Their curries have a more dominant yogurt taste than I'm used to, which was different but enjoyable. They were very helpful getting me situated in a booth where I could plug in my laptop and use their WiFi. Classy interior. They were playing contemporary Bollywood tunes, which were more upbeat and energizing than the usual Indian music. I even heard a track that M.I.A. sampled

Very tasty dishes with pleasant service. We've been here for the lunch buffet and for dinner. Our favorite is the lunch buffet because we're not that familiar with Indian dishes by name so we prefer to see the dishes first before making our selections. And it’s a good deal too. When you order from the menu you can ask for mild, medium, hot or very hot. We asked for mild on the Combination Dinner for Two and one entree was medium and the other entrees were mild. That was fine as we did a lot of sharing. Both breads we got were so good – fresh out of the pan and warm. The naan bread was especially delicious. Our meat entrees were tender and the sauces leave just the right flavors in your mouth. We finished off with the Gulab Jamun dessert that was part of the Combination Dinner for Two. It was light and sweet though honestly, there could have been three of the small donut-like pastries per person. The service is friendly and attentive when it’s not busy. When the restaurant fills up, you’ll wait a little longer for a water refill or the check. Parking is on the meter out front or you can park in the larger parking lot in the back.
