Great outside seating if you want classic bbq and picnic tables or inside with entertainment. We sat outside there were four of us and we wanted to be able to talk. Service was great we all had ribs which were delicious and wine. Would definitely go back.

Smokin with Chris has long been one of our favorite local restaurants in town. Great live music plus great consistent food plus a great tap list means that we are never disappointed here. We recently hired Smokin with Chris to cater for a birthday party for my wife, and once again we were very impressed. The restaurant was very easy to communicate with, the delivery people were very efficient and pleasant, and most importantly the food was great, just as good as if it were served right at the restaurant. I would highly recommend them- if you haven't checked them out yet, give them a try!

Went here for the first time yesterday. Fantastic authentic barbecue. Just the right amount of smoke flavor -never overpowering. We enjoyed the yabba dabba doo beef rib and a 1/2 rack of spare ribs- everything was cooked as it should be. Baked beans and cole slaw were on point. The fries and onion rings were very fresh although they could have been a little hotter. This was 5 star food and service (at the bar) all the way. This will be a regular stop for us.

An unexpected delight for sure. I went with my wife and her friend for an early meal and was blown away by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I had a half rack of ribs which were moist and tender, the meat was falling off the bone making it so easy to devour. I added a few splashes of thier BBQ sauces, and was impressed by the flavors, but the meat was simply delicious without any additions. I think that the prices were extremely reasonable and provided excellent value. I would love to go there with a group and sit outside, pigging out on delicious BBQ!!

The staff is nice and the food is really good except I personally did not like the two sauces that are on the table but they have the best nachos I've ever had and an amazing salsa. I would recommend going here if your really into BBQ and want good food and good music. 10/10

The ambiance of the place was very homie and welcoming! The live band playing was very nice and fun. The drinks were really good but the BBQ! That was out of this world! Phenomenal food nachos were amazing and the food was brought out hot and very delicious. I got a full rack of spare ribs and they fell off the bone every time. My wife for the beef brisket Mac n Cheese and she didn't stop eating it. Live band was an awesome addition and something I wasn't expecting but enjoyed very much. It was blues and southern music. Highly recommended I drove 20 minutes and will do so again!!!!

Been there several times and have had an excellent meal every time. Waitstaff is very family friendly, and always available. The menu is fairly substantial, but everything on it makes sense. Beer and wine are readily available, including local selections most of the time.

Great food and very delicious. Staff is frendly and makes you feel at home. Try going when they music as is always entertaining. Generous helpings. Owner is usually around going to table to table. Unlike some restaurants here in Southington, he talks to everyone. They usually very busy and can take a few extra minutes to get the Fresh food to you but definitely worth the extra time. It's a Must do if your in the area and worth the extra drive if not.

The lunch menu had specials for $8.95. I had a brisket sandwich with a side which was very good. The brisket was moist and had a good flavor. I would recommend this restaurant for the BBQ but it was not big on atmosphere.

Amazing experience here. We got the wing and burnt ends appetizer to start which was delicious. I got the pulled pork sandwich and loved that it came on ciabatta bread, for sides I had the most delicious fries that you could tell were homemade. The sweet potatoes were great, I have never had them cooked like that before. My boyfriend got the ribs with Mac and cheese which was the cheesiest! The waitstaff was very pleasant and we had an all around great experience.

I was dissapointed with the food quality. Burnt, bland hush puppies. Meatloaf drenched in bbq. Ribs like leather. Smelled so good outside. I really wanted to like it! Service was lacking too. Had to ask another server for the check. Pulled pork was good. Not enough to go back for, unfortunately.

So this was a hard 4 stars. The bbq sauce here is definitely 5 stars. I ordered the ribs and the brisket. I liked that this was a very large portion. Both were good and did its job, but didn't do the wow factor for me. Service was good and the beer on tap was happy about. The bar tender was great! Nice dude. Forgot his name my fault. But overall was good. And thank you for a good dinner.

What the HELL happened to this place? Time was when this was the smoked meats place to go for the best in barbecue. But what I, and two buddies experienced was nothing short of disastrous. I had a bowl of chili that tasted sweet, not spicy, and with a nice hint of smokiness. That was the one bright spot in an otherwise terrible lunch. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was served with coleslaw on it. The pork tasted just "ok", but was cold, and on a roll that had gone stale at least a day earlier. Or maybe it was supposed to be crunchy................. yeah, RIGHT! My buddy Jimbo merely said his burger was, quote: "the worst burger I've ever had". The onion rings both Jimbo and I ordered were greasy and tasteless. I'm so disappointed with what we had, that I doubt I'll be returning to Smokin' With Chris' at any time in the future. This is really unfortunate because what we had was but a shadow of what was once a genuinely great place to eat, in an atmosphere that's relaxed and eclectic.

Smokin with Chris does excellent smoked meats. Portions are good and the sides very tasty. The reason for the 3 star rating is that on this occasion I had the burnt ends. For me burnt ends are from the point end of a brisket. These had cartilage (which they warned you about) and seemed more like ends trimmed from spareribs. Very little meat. I will definitely return but will not be ordering these again.

Just had lunch there for the first time with my brother . This place is amazing!!! I don’t usually do reviews but I just had to for this place because everything from start to finish was fantastic. The Bar-B-Que is done to perfection no matter what your choice is., the service is quick and the coleslaw is crazy good. Seems like everyone here is very friendly and helpful. It just felt very homey.Left with a full tummy but not overly stuffed . Definitely will be a returning some time soon :)

This BBQ place has phenomenal food with a great atmosphere. I got the Paul's Almost Famous BBQ sandwich as a wrap this time. It probably would have been better to just have it on the usual bread, but the BBQ chicken was great and the roasted peppers were grilled to perfection. Their cornbread has changed since the last time (3 years ago), but is the most delicious cornbread I've ever had, and the mashed potatoes are almost as good as my gram's Thanksgiving recipe!! A talented jazz band came on just after 7:30, and it was just loud enough that we could still hear everyone even from across the table.

We have come here many times to enjoy their barbecue and listen to music. Today we went and were informed they had a new seating policy. If you were there to listen to music they wouldn't seat you until 7:45 p.m. . We were there at 6:30 and wanted to enjoy our dinner and then watch the music while we had drinks after dinner. Instead we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes to get seated. Meanwhile there were lots of empty tables in the room where the music was going to be playing. It would have been no problem to seat us. Instead we got hungry and cranky as we waited for no reason. Then after we were seated it took an hour to get our food. And it wasn't very good. I always loved their barbecue. But this time my ribs were undercooked, fatty, and tough. My husband got the wrong sandwich but we didn't say anything because the owner's wife was very disagreeable when we questioned their policy. We really did not enjoy the music this time either because we were so hungry and frustrated. And the food was bad. So we left and we will never come here again. Footnote: while I appreciate the co-owners response to my review it really is too little too late. Because besides the seating policy that made us very hungry and unhappy as we looked at five empty tables for 45 minutes, I found the main Hostess and the replying co-owner to be rude to me. So we will never go to this restaurant again. And an off-night is not acceptable when you're spending money on food and you get poorly cooked food. I'm sorry that's not acceptable at a restaurant. Also, at no point in my conversation with you did you offer us to get food at the bar. We did ultimately go into the bar and order a drink. I briefly expressed my displeasure at the new seating policy to the bartender. But said whatever we'll get a beer and wait. At no point did the bartender offer us menus and tell us that we could order food there instead. Also going to Smokin with Chris was primarily for the food and the music was a happy addition. We never stay till 10, we would eat our food first then stay for the first set and leave. And you know those five or so tables sitting there while we waited... I found that very spiteful of the hostess and the owner. Not the happy atmosphere we're looking for when we go out.
