What a treat! I think we tested everything on the menue and I since everything was excellent, I can't tell you which was my favorite. The food, service and surroundings, can't be beat! Thank you Phil and also thank you to your attentive crew!

This place is fantastic!! We absolutely love it. The atmosphere is so low-key and relaxing with the sun out, a gentle breeze and the sound of the river rushing by. If that isn't enough, the BBQ & seafood are really, *really* good! They also allow you to BYOB, which is nice. We've been for lunch a couple of times and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Can't wait to go back again!

locations and atmosphere was fantastic! Service was good and the food was OK. Not much for kids to eat here or at least my picky kids. Needs a little upkeep as we had an umbrella broken and some butts, glass and bottlecaps around our table. The prices are a bit high. I'd like to try it again because the location is perfect. Perfect spot to eat some BBQ on the water if you don't feel like cooking it yourself.

Loved the atmosphere. Lobster and clams fresh however disappointed with the side dishes. Pre-cooked too small. The mac n cheese to dry and potatoes no taste.

I really LOVED RiverView BBQ, I haven't gone their in maybe 2-3 years, but what I remember is that is was great. It gives you a homy kind of feeling, and it's a great place for kids! Plus food is AMAZING, best burgers you could ever try.

It's difficult to review this restaurant based on how much YOU are willing to pay for a scenic view and a nice atmosphere (which this place has in abundance). For me that can only go so far and then you realize you paid $15 for 6 ribs with no sides, and $15 dollars for LITERALLY just a chicken breast with no sides. With grilled corn, two sodas, tax and tip, we were amazed that we had just spent $50!! We very much feel we didn't get our money's worth. However, again to some to eat this food with views of the water it might be enough. Just not for us.

I came here on Memorial Day with a group of friends and had a wonderful time! My boyfriend and I had the BBQ shrimp and mussels as our apps, which were amazing! For dinner, I had the grilled salmon and he had the ribeye steak which was generous in size and cooked just the way he asked. We even ended up splitting a half rack too because the weather was absolutely gorgeous and we stayed much longer than expected! You can't beat the ability to BYOB & the waterside patio. Thanks for a great holiday :)

The food is absolutely delicious and the service is impeccable. I went with my family and we ordered ribs and steamers (clams that are steamed). The ribs were actually smoked and flavorful and they offered you multiple saucees that improved the flavor further more. The clams were bursting with flavor and delicious. They also offered you a butter sauce to go with your clams. 10/10 would go again.

After passing by this place for a long time we finally stopped in for dinner. It was fabulous, started off with Little Neck Clams could have had a double order they were so good. Had the surf and turf oh boy it was great!!! My wife had the ribs and my son had the chicken breast and we all left full and happy. I will be back!!

The service was good , the views and atmosphere are great, and the food is good sometimes . Its really hit or miss. If you can deal with marginal food on occasion give it a chance it mught be good that night.

Couldn't ask for more. Good food. Good prices. Good service. You know whats out there, so support your local business. Little bit of something for everyone on the menu plus a great view of the river and a relaxing atmosphere. Leave the rat race for a bit. Stop, breathe, and enjoy. We did.

Riverview is a wonderful, must see hidden Gem in Seymour, located right on Route 34 (Directly Behind the Chavez Bakery). My husband and I stopped here last night on a whim, and got the surprise of our lives. We were intrigued by the unique outdoor dining experience. Tall, majestic trees rise up surrounding the picnic area, sporting Rustic string lighting. Charcoal grills sat nearby cooking various assortments of seafood, barbeque, and sides. Fresh flowers in Mason jars acted as a beautiful centerpiece on picnic tables with patio chairs. Then, there is the view of the river, where you will see all sorts of wild birds and boats passing by. The whole place gives you the feeling of being down south. That's just the atmosphere! The food is absolutely delicious! We had happened to stop on Saturday night, where there were several specials offered. We decided to go with a clambake for one, which is more than enough to feed 2 hungry people. This included huge bowls of steamed mussels and clams, a whole grilled lobster, drawn butter, lemon, corn on the cob, BBQ grilled chicken thighs, coleslaw and a side (we opted for pulled pork w/baked beans). Wow! I can't say enough about how good the food was. We joked around about how expensive the bill was going to be, and were shocked when we received it at how reasonably priced it was! Including two beverages, it was $48 with tax. What a steal! On top of that, the staff were courteous, prompt, friendly and attentive. Our waitress was a wonderful young lady who was more than happy to get anything we requested. Riverview is a place you definitely dont want to miss! As an avid seafood and barbeque lover, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed! BYOB!

Great place by the river with amazing food, also they are starting to do parties and group events. This is a great location close to the river with delicious vittles! You can easily miss it on the road but it's worth stopping in!

It was great! Dine right on the Housatonic River,great BBQ and seafood. Had 2 lbs on mussels, a rib-eye steak, corn and salad for $13- the prices are great. Server could not have been nicer. BYOB keep the cost down.Will be back soon!!!

What a dump! Soup served cold, cold brisket on a burnt roll, and a shrimp jambalaya with no shrimp!!! I'm not kidding. I've never written a review before, but I feel compelled to help someone save their hard earned money. Worst restaurant ever!

It would be a gold mine if the food was good. The view is wonderful but the food is terrible. Very expensive for old dry tasteless food. I dont know how anyone gave it 5 stars. I would of rather gotten mcdonalds and brought it there to eat. We had pulled pork, it was dry & tasteless. Grilled corn was raw. I will miss the view but never going back

Just love being able to sit down right beside the river and eat dinner! Food is great and service is great. They let you bring your own alcohol. They are outdoor only and only open seasonally!

Sat ourselves down and waited a while, then owner came over and asked if we had been waited on yet, we said "no" and he said he'd get someone right over. It still took a while. Order a soda to it was flat. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich and my wife ordered lobster mac n cheese. My sandwich came out it was only warm and dry without a lot of flavor. I finished my sandwich and my wife still hadn't gotten her's! We told the girl we'll just have it to go. She was very apologetic and gave it to us 50% off. Nice atmosphere with the river and live music, but needs improvement.

Loved the atmosphere! Went there to eat with my son and husband and really enjoyed ourselves! The live music and fire pit was a nice touch! I had lobster mac and cheese and pulled pork. My husband had a cheeseburger, grilled chicken and grilled corn. Gave four stars because I think the food could have been better!
