Rick's Nutmeg Grille is always amazing! I brought my two toddler nieces there for breakfast this morning and was so pleased with how welcoming they were! The service is always great. Their home fries are TO DIE FOR!

Stopped here for lunch while in Torrington for work. Not bad the waitress was good and the food was out quickly. Place was clean and cozy.

They are always happy to make small changes to our orders. We are vegans and I get the egg white omelet with spinach & onions. We also had nuts & fruit on our waffles. Delish. Great waitresses, good service. Love this place. Small and friendly.

Love the food here, but wasn't impressed with the service. Asked for no tomatoes, has to pick out tomatos of a wrap. Has to ask for salsa when it was supposed to come with sour cream and salsa. And even though it wasn't busy we had empty cups for 10 minutes while our waitress was standing around. Couple other service issues but whatever.. Again the food is good though

The place to go in historic downtown Torrington for breakfast & lunch. Open for many years; open early for breakfast all day long, also serves extensive lunch options. Low priced menu items, daily specials, custom a la carte ordering, friendly & fast, professional waitstaff, vegetarian items. Burgers, Greek food, sandwiches, fresh soups, omelettes, choice of sausages, home fries,, crispy bacon. Wonderful onion rings, curly or regular fries, to share, all variety of breakfast & lunch options. Large portions, enough to at leasttake half to go. Clean restrooms, free off street parking next door. Kid friendly. Cash or credit cards.

The best breakfast I have ever eaten. The ingredients are real and authentic, portions are generous and absolutely yummy. I didn't want to, and couldn't, stop eating. I'd probably drive from hours away to eat here, glad I'm only 15 minutes away.

Just ok, they need to renovate and up their breakfast. The menu is good and the food is fine but something is definitely missing, I think it’s just the ingredients, such as they could use better cheeses, local eggs would be awesome but not necessary, cook with good butter things like that. If the atmosphere was better the food wouldn’t matter as much but one of those needs a change. Upsides they serve breakfast all day I think and open on sundays as well, location is also great. I would go back if I was in the area, since there aren’t many breakfast spots in downtown Torrington where you can get egg breakfast.

You are in the wrong place if you are looking for customer care or food. This USED TO BE the best place to go for breakfast. The owner and staff and food were out of this world. TODAY - new owner, completely new staff. Horrible is the softest way I could describe it. You could probably live with bad service when the menu and food are good. You could do vice versa - bad bad food but good people. Ah ah - no way here. Everything - my kids this morning refused to eat their pancakes or French toast, my wife hated her egg whites and the oatmeal for me was nothing but water. Again, if you think anybody cared you are sadly mistaken. Bottom line - you are better off just about ANYWHERE ELSE

A special place! Breakfast was wonderful. We were greeted with a smile. Very clean. Food was cooked perfectly. For drinks, N got a coffee, M got a hot mint tea (they have a lot of tea options), and I got a freshly brewed iced tea. For food, N got Irish eggs benedict with a side of Canadian bacon, M got the big breakfast with French toast and a side of home fried potatoes, and I got a cheddar cheese omelet and a single waffle. It all came out together, hot, and reasonably timed. Good prices.

We were looking for a different place for Breakfast today Sunday the 4th.so we Googled "Breakfast in Torrington". What great web site. not only pictures of the restaurant but the whole menu as well. The food was excellent and the wait staff were awesome, friendly and quick and the restaurant was very clean. We've found our new place for breakfast and lunch. Great Place see you soon. Bill

My mom and I are fairly regular customers. Today we stopped in to lunch and were served by what was obviously a new waitress. She was young, and very nice, but her listening skills left a lot to be desired. I ordered chicken salad on wheat bread (not toast) with no tomato, and was served a chicken salad on toast with tomato. I sent it back, and it came back on very stale, dry bread and the tomato still on it. It was warm, and the chicken salad tasted rancid. Needless to say, I couldn't eat it. When we asked the waitress to bring a box to wrap it up, we told her to leave the plate so my mom could finish the fries, and we would just wrap it ourselves. She said she could do that and then picked up the plate and walked away. Again, listening skills. I complained to the cook about my problems with the sandwich and was not offered to have it taken off the bill, a fair cop, considering the sandwich was inedible. I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon.
