This Restaurant is classified in the category of Thai restaurant.
Great variety of Thai cuisine. The staff is warm and welcoming. I have met people in groups of 4 and also 8, and had a pleasant dining experience.
Everything was so delicious I love rice pot Thai restaurant!!
Decent food for a good price. Had the soup and enjoyed it very much. Good broth, plenty of veggies and rice noodles were proberly cooked.
Excellent, best Thai food in town!
Decided to try this place based on the reviews I read here so I had to add my own. This place is so amazingly delicious! Best Pad Thai (with chicken) and drunken noodles (with veggies and tofu) I have ever had. Massaman curry (with chicken) was not our favorite, though. The ambiance is lovely, service fantastic, and even better food. Our search for Thai food is over. We will be back...probably tomorrow. :)
Great authetic food. Thai food is by far my favorite food, so I have very high standards. These guys are Thai, and that is reflected in their food. It’s simply perfect. I always get the tofu option, so I can’t comment on the quality of the meat.
I was really happy with the food and the service. 10 out of 10 would eat there again.
Nice small cozy restaurant with outstanding food
Reliably Good. Easy parking. Good for conversation
Good food and the staff is super nice! It's not out of this world Thai, but it's some of the best in New Haven.
Probably the worst Thai Food I have had since arriving in new haven. Thai Spice in Hamden is the place to go for quality take out.
Rice Pot is hands down the best Thai food in New Haven.
Delicious Thai Food, Try The Lunch Combos
Nice Thai food. Love it
Best Thai around!
Food was really good!
Rice Pot never disappoints. Consistently great food, great service, reasonable prices.
Rice Pot is a quaint little restaurant in an unassuming building in a rapidly expanding section of East Rock. As a frequent visitor of this establishment multiple times, for both dine-in and take-out, I have always had a pleasant experience here. The staff are friendly, humble and always eager to make your stay pleasant. The curries are phenomenal, especially the generous portions and variety the seafood curry provides. I have not had any other dishes besides the curries, as these always seemed to be the main staple of this restaurant. My only gripe with this restaurant is the lack of new menu items coming in. I've been visiting this restaurant for over 4 years and I have never seen a new dish on the menu. Definitely worth a checkout if you are in the area and a fan of Thai food.
Food was excellent and came in something like a bento box. We all had a lunch special. Definitely worth it. Will be going back. Also good for vegan in our group.
Our first time at the Rice Pot and I'm totally satisfied! Definitely will be coming back. If you're here, try the Cashew chicken and the mango & sticky rice. They were phenomenal.
Awesome place. I got the drunken noodle it came out very quickly, was a large portion, and was very good. The staff was very kind and courteous as well. Whenever I am in the area I will be going here.
Ordered drunken noodle, duck noodle soup and green curry with shrimp and all three were awesome. Especially love the green curry.
Decent Thai food. All the dishes we ordered are good. A little bit salty, but typical if you are eating out.
Excellent lunch spot in New Haven. Quick, easy, healthy and delicious !
Dinner very good. Place a little tiny
Nice place , Food is good
My favorite Pad Thai in New Haven
Such an adorable spot. Wait staff are very sweet and helpful; the food is so delicious! Rice Pot is just a wonderful place to have a meal.
Delicious authentic thai food! Mmmm
Red Curry was good, they took an item off our bill cause it was too repulsive.
Our go-to for take-out in the east rock area. Cozy, quiet atmosphere if you are sitting in.
And I specifically asked for no hair! Thanks, but no thanks. Update later on how many I find in total.
"Don't come again if you don't like my service" Any restaurant whose waitress turns aways customers rudely and repeatedly (see other complaints below) and whose owner fails to take action upon complaints is doomed for failure. ------------------------------------- Background: I used to visit this restaurant with a good friend of mine at least once per week. Incidents: We were displeased with the subpar service of this waitress at Ricepot but we tolerated it for a few weeks. But we visited Rice Pot in early October (one Wednesday dinner), the rude waitress did not refill our water -- she deliberately avoided our table twice for no reason. We were displeased with such terrible treatment but wanted to be constructive in our criticism, so I wrote on my bill after leaving a 15% tip something like the following: "Your food is wonderful and I hope you can improve your service to make this a truly outstanding restaurant." My friend visited Rice Pot with her own group during lunch on Nov 2 and was served by a different waiter. That same waitress went up to my friend to ask her to deliver a message to "your friend who left a message last time." The waitress told my friend to inform me that it would be totally fine if I did not want to return to Rice Pot. Outcome: Complaints, initially acknowledged by the owner Jaruch, have not been answered to date. And I vote with my feet.
This place can do no wrong! Wonderful service and the food is very delicious each time. I can specifically speak to their vegetarian dishes. Their appetizers and entrees are diverse and they even allow you to choose how spicy you would like your entree on a scale of 1-5 which is really nice, but unless you eat spicy food competitively do not exceed a 3!!! I love spicy food but one time I got a 4 and suffered through eating it because it was simply too spicy for me
I had finished almost all of it. When I alerted the staff, they apologized profusely and asked me if I wanted to replace my meal with anything else. When I declined and just asked for the check, they surprised me and came back with no check. The waitress said that the meal was on the house!
Great lunch choices
Delicious Food !!!!!
Love the pad thai
Love this place... cozy with delicious cuisine ❤️
First time here ! Umm...... Delicious good size portions peaceful place
Love my lunch special
Excellent food! We have visited many times and always a great experience.
Good food, friendly staff.
Good Thai on state st
Very enjoyable food. We liked the drunkin noodles, Thai sampler, sliced beef and pad Thai. Nice environment and friendly service.
Solid Thai food
This is hands down the best Thai in New Haven that I have found. If you're new to the area and trying to find your new Thai spot this will be it, so plan accordingly. Their one and only downside is the their drink menu only carries wine and very few beers.
Great thai restaurant. If you want good, authentic thai food this is the place.
Lived down the road from here. Reliably tasty Thai food with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Also did take-out fairly often - they are quick. Panang curry is delicious
The pork is fatty and the parking lot is nondescript and the curry dishes are too sweet.
My family and I eat here once a week, the food is great.
Recently qualities changed .. worst Thai food in new haven now .. won’t recommend this place ..
Nice little restaurant, the stuff is friendly. Food quality is well. Had chicken sticks at first, price really good. The duck almost perfect just the thai milk tea is to expensive.
Always good food! Fast turnaround for takeout
Ordered the drunken noodle. It was delicious. Would definitely come back again next time I am in New Haven.
Really nice place
Quiet, quick service with good portion sizes.
I love the food here and good service to boot!
A pretty good variety of Pho in a place with soothing illumination
Nice restaurant, helpful staff. Well prepared food but be aware that food can be spicy. Good selection.
Great Thai food...big portions.
Just okay, at least for vegetarians. Green curry was average. Veggie sizzler was below average. Good portion sizes though.
i thought the food was amazing. probably the best Thai food I have ever tasted! service was very good and the ginger curry and the Padang curry were both exquisite, I would definitely come here again
Fresh and delicious
Absolutely favorite Thai restaurant EVER. Everything they make is incredible. Some of the absolutely favorites include fresh rolls, crispy duck salad, tom yum soup and pretty much all the curries. great pad Thai and drunken noodles too! the place itself is very cute, and is tucked away at the very end do state street and conveniently close to the highway.
We love doing takeout from here as they're fairly priced, quick and have great variety on the menu. They're great about substitutions within a dish and a really good choice for both vegetarian and meat dishes. The Siam fried rice is simple but great, and the drunken noodles have the perfect amount of spiciness. Inside they always have customers but are never overcrowded. Definitely one of the more underrated places in New Haven.
No delivery.
Nice local spot for some delicious Thai food. Loved the shrimp pad thai and siam roll. Lovely and attentive staff as well.
Great authentic Thai food! Nice, cozy spot to eat with reasonable prices and generous portion sizes.
All I have to say is amazing
Awesome spot for a quick bite of Thai food. Good lunch spot with great and very affordable lunch specials!
Great food
Quiet when we were there. Great atmosphere, good food and prices
Really great food, I'd highly recommend the Thai steamed dumpling. I've only gotten takeout but their staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great for a sit down meal
Food was amazing! We were thoroughly impressed. Will definitely return.
Best Thai that I've had on the East Coast
Great Service and Food very Flavorful!
Been here twice, not worth it
Only place I could find panang curry and it was delicious. Cute place and good prices.
The food is awesome and the people who work here are the absolute nicest. So happy to have this place in the neighborhood!
With just one customer on the restaurant, they didn't allow me to sit to a large table, and one of three small tables were occupied by someone reading newsletter; the other one was dirty (not cleaned).
Great environment and even better food. Also for the holiday they give you complimentary dessert. I will come back!
My favorite Thai food restaurant I have even been to. The food is delicious and eloquently prepared. Intimate atmosphere. Overall, a great experience.
good menu good service
It's a cute little place that boasts of fast service and good food.
Good Thai food
Great food service is good people friendly, not a big space but definite hidden gem in New Haven
My faaaaavorite Thai restaurant in New Haven. I have never been disappointed with this place and the price isnt too bad (better deals for lunch combos). The coconut soup and beef macademia nut are amazing. The shrimp coconut soup is awesome but beware! Its spicy!
Excellent food and service!
Quaint neighborhood spot with friendly stafff and great food. Take your girl here on a date. You’re welcome
Great food. Great combination. Great service. Yummy
Really nice ambience and good service. Liked the food too. I am a big fan of Thai food so keep that in mind haha. I tried the yellow curry and it was great. Plenty of food options on the menu. The thai iced tea was also really good. A little sweet though for people so like iced tea without sugar. Would recommend going!
The Pad see ew (I very well may have spelled that wrong, but it is phonetically correct) is bomb as hell. Well worth the price for dinner and at lunch is an absolute steal. It is kind of concerning how often I want to go there now because of this one dish.
I love this restaurant! I've never had a bad meal here. The food is always fresh and served very hot and you can determine for yourself whether you want your dish extra spicy or not. The customer service is very good. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This is a fantastic Thai restaurant. We have been looking for a go to Thai restaurant since Thai Taste closed. We heard that the Rice Pot was owned by the same people so we gave it a shot. Most everyone in our party got the Pad Thai and they said it was every bit as good as Thai taste. I got the sizzling steak and it was one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. It is a fairly small restaurant with great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's parking two doors down in a lot, we didn't know that, I parked on the street. Highly recommended in New Haven.
Good
The takeout is fast and the food is soooo good. This is my favorite restaurant right now!
like that place
Charming spot with excellent food!
Go-to for a casual dinner or delivery. Portions are big enough to have leftovers!
BEST THAI FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I was on my way from Boston and wanted to stop and eat at some place in New Haven close to the state highway (I-95). I found this place on Yelp and decided to stall here. DECOR: Its a small and very simple place but quite clean. Even the women's toilet was clean. FOOD: Ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup, fish cakes, drunken noodles and fried ice cream. The food was extremely delicious and I can't stop thinking about this place each time I crave for Thai food. Everything we ordered did not disappointment at all. I had read the reviews for drunken noodles mentioning that it is very spicy. So I had ordered less spicy. But it was so sweet and the taste of fennel was over powering. Next time you order Drunken Noodles, please let them recommend the spice level. The fried ice cream was super delicious. It is absolutely different from the regular fried ice creams that you may get else where. The coating was soft (unlike the crispy cornflakes coating) with vanilla ice cream inside. You have to try this to experience the taste. SERVICE: The food came within 15 mins from the time we ordered. The waitress was polite. PRICE: Very reasonable!
This place USED to be good. My friend and I got there at 250 and were seated and served menus. The waitress comes back at 3:02 and keep in mind there are 2 tables finishing up. I asked about lunch what time it was over and she said it ended at 3. I said we got here at 2:50 and you didn’t come back. She seemed annoyed but her manager said fine. She had major attitude when bringing drinks and dropping off food. My friend said the manager scowled at him a few times. I had to go up to the waitress to ask for water (no one in restaurant). Then they send the one kind waitress over to the table. She deserved the tip not the others. Worst restaurant experience ever! Rice Pot your food is meh too. Your attitude sucks!
Wow! Huge portions, and affordable! My wife and I loved it! Drunken Noodle was ridiculously good!
My girlfriends order was not correct for lunch so she was told to come back and they would make it right. Upon returning the portions were less and staff was rude following through on their courtesy. Not to mention the food was bland and presentation was sloppy. This is not a place I would recommend nor would I return.
Always and reliably excellent
My go to New Haven Thai place. Over the years this place had been a small safe haven when it comes to Thai food. They always do a wonderful job at balance and there is always a smiling face. Anytime I've had to ask their opinion on the best choice and they have always been right. I simply love their crispy pork opinions. Highly recommend them.
Food and price was amazing!
My most favorite Thai restaurant in New Haven. Great dishes and friendly services. Its location is not exactly easy to spot but it is always busy, which just shows how popular it is among New Haveners.
Simple yet delicious food. Authentic, great for an easy night out or a relaxed date.
Fantastic!
Great stuff
Simply boring. If you like flavorless, spice-less uninspired, pseudo "thai food" this might be your place...
I drive an hour once a week to come here, it is one of the best Thai places in CT. It’s clean and friendly and the food is to die for. This is the place to be!
This is real Thai food. Don't come here expecting noodles drenched in peanut sauce. There are plenty of places downtown for that. Come here for the curries, the kee mow, and of course, real noodles. Also there a free parking lot for the restaurant on the right side of the building.
Favorite Thai spot!! Cute place, great prices and GREAT TASTE!!!
The best !
Food quality was far from perfect, beef in salad was burnt and that is why bitter. Can't recommend sea food curry either. Noodle soup was good though. Service is very good too.
Best Thai food in New Haven! The staff is super friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. When someone asks me where to get Thai food in New Haven i always send them to Rice Pot!
