Lovely diner and restaurant. We loved everything we ate there and the portions were quite generous. Loved the coffee, pancakes, waffle and the vegetarian omelette (with no cheese). Highly recommend. Kid friendly as there is a kids menu and have spacious seating options

This was a second date place for me and my Boo so it holds a special place in our hearts. Large typical diner menu, easy on/off the highway, always plenty of parking. Pricing is a bit on the higher end but not outside of the realm of reasonable.

Went Thursday and had a great meal. Went Again Friday, horrible!!!!!!! Orders mixed up and came out 15 minutes apart. Wrong order was to be special attention due to medical diet restrictions. Got it wrong, was told substitutions were ok, then up charged for them even though they could not be eaten because they were not prepared properly. Many other dinning options in this town will allow us to never take this or future groups to the Mystic Dinner again.

Has to be one of Worst Diners I've ever been to!! The toast was stale and not Rye toast as requested. They put chopped bacon into the cheese omelet instead of on the side. The Eggs tasted like the came out of a instant egg mixture. The Pancakes were small and tasteless. I had to smother them in butter that was already melted in the individual packets and syrup. The potato home fries had no onions or seasonings and looked like they were just frozen potatoes that were dumped in a pan and heated up, Tasteless!! Coffee wasn't anything to write home about. The men's bathroom toilet seats were barely attached to the toilet!! All in all, we should have just gone to the Friendly's across the street! It could not have been as bad as this place was!! Happy 30th Anniversary to Us! I hope the place that we pick for dinner tonight will be better than this !! It couldn't be worse? I'm Hoping...

Atmosphere was dated and just didn't seem to be clean enough to relax. The service was ok. The silverware had dried food stuck to it. The food took forever to come out and it was horrible! Toast over done, crumbled when u buttered it. Eggs ordered over easy came over well, home fries just cooked enough to serve without flavor. Bacon..... Yuck!You get it. I'll never go again.

I must say that I was taken a back when all I asked for was for my home fries to be cooked a little on the crispy side at which point your waitress began to explain to me in an incoherent manner about how your home fries are cooked to Temp and not to appearance. I was baffled at the explanation as it made no sense in any way. At this point I asked for manager and as I was approaching her she asked me if I was leaving and I answered yes. She was absolutely fine with that and proceeded to tell me that the cook will not take any special requests. I am sorry but last I knew I was paying for my breakfast not the cook or the owner and I did not appreciate being told how I had to eat my breakfast. It seems you were trying to hide the fact that you don't make your home fries fresh you reheat them and serve.

I stop by here every time I pass by Mystic. I have done it for Years. Food has always been Good. Ordered the Ruben with pastrami because it was always a good Sandwich.. Except the one KEY ingredient is 1000 island Dressing.. apparently the Chef this time missed it in the instructions.. so when you get a chance to stop by and you should.. be sure to ask to put the 1000 island dressing on it... I'll stop by again in the future, one little mistake doesn't matter that much of a difference.. there's Bigger Fish to complain about..

All-around Amazing! Made the huge mistake of going to Friendlys first. After they failed miserably at every aspect of service and food we made our way over to Mystic Diner and SO happy we did! Outstanding Service with a smile - made us feel right at home and the food didn't disappoint either! Clean and comfortable atmosphere...going back for breakfast in the morning and will always be stopping here when we're in town! Thank you Mystic Diner for saving what started as a miserable night! My 12 yr old said after the miserable Friendlys experience anything would have been better

EDIT after response from owner: Had we been offered seating inside, I would not have written this review. We were made to feel like an inconvenience and I will not remove my review. I’ve eaten here before and know the food is delicious, so that’s the only reason for two stars. Zero stars for experience this time. We came it with 9 people total - 7 adults and two children, one of which needed a highchair. We asked to sit outside and the gentleman at the host stand kind of scrunched his face. He told us they weren’t allowed to push tables together outside and we were fine with that and said we would sit at two different tables next two each other since the restaurant was almost completely empty. He then told us we were not allowed to add a highchair to a table, and that because there were nine of us and only 8 seats available between the two tables, that the tables were full and we could not put at highchair at either of the tables. I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 years in three different states, and have never had this issue come up while I was out to eat, or working. We ended up leaving because they could not accommodate a table for us.

3/4 of the way through eating my salad, I found a dead cricket in it. Although the waitress and manager apologized and said they would take the meal off the bill, they still charged gratuity and were “unable” to split the bill more than two ways (I was in a group of 9 people) My friend basically split the bill herself so we all were able to pay separately (using multiple cards and cash for the two separate bills) and somehow we still owed $20 after we all payed including gratuity. Wouldn’t be surprised if the $20 remaining was for my bug salad.

Stopped by on the way back home and was surprised at how good the food was. Everyone at the table got burgers in some way, and they were great! Highly recommend the Ethan burger plate. The only piece that was okay was the vanilla eggcream, it was heavy on seltzer but if you like that order it!

The atmosphere was scary. It was a large venue, however it was almost empty at dinnertime. That was unsettling. Breakfast and lunch are served all day, which means that the menu is very broad and hard to navigate. The food was average and the chicken was overcooked. However, an upside was the waitress Missy was superb and had an excellent personality!

This is a pretty nice diner in Mystic. I came here for breakfast and got the Banana Pecan Pancakes with a side order of Bacon. Both were really good. Pancakes had a good taste and were fluffy. My bacon was cooked to my liking. The diner itself is very clean. It is just the ladies bathroom that needs a bit of work. Overall, I would come here again if I am ever in the area.

As my husband said “we are lucky we don’t live very close!” What an awesome diner. My family ordered a variety of meals, all at reasonable prices and the quality was absolutely incredible. We order a piece of cheesecake to take home and I will never look at cheesecake the same again. It is literally the best cheesecake I have ever had!!! Box that up and sell it!

I had the Texas Burger. It was perfectly cooked med-rare. Biggest burger patty I've ever had. Seasoned well with a mountain of toppings. Large portion of fries crispy and delicious. Also came with a side of Cole slaw and pickle to boot. Service was fast and food come out faster then I expected. Everyone in my family was very satisfied with their food. The waiter was very friendly and made us smile multiple times. Definitely would come again.

I’ve been here once before and the service was not great. Food was over cooked. I then tried to give another chance. Everyone or everyplace can have their bad days. Well I guess this place just always has a bad day. I came to have a late lunch with my daughter. We sat here for ten min before someone finally acknowledge us. She apologized and put our order in right away. She was very kind and respectful. I want to thank waitress 428 for treating me and my daughter with respect but we will NOT come here ever again.

Our answers to any special request was no. Simple requests such as asking for omelettes to be scrambled instead or for the home fries to be on the crispy side. Food was bland. Opted for Reuben and there was little to no flavor. Service was ok. Friendly enough staff. Wouldn't repeat.

Mystic Diner is a great family friendly restaurant. The food is delicious and a bit lighter than some other diners I've visited in the are. We always leave full, but without the heavy feeling that most diners' greasy food can give you. I was particularly impressed by the stuffed French toast which was both aesthetically presented and delicious. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend the Mystic Diner to anyone visiting the village and looking for a good breakfast out.

This place was perfect. The French toast is made with challah bread and made perfectly next texture on the outside and fully cooked on the inside. The waffles were okay but the homefries made up for the slack in waffle flavor. Plus the staff were super friendly, not a long wait, cute place and super clean

Rude service...we walked in with a coffee in our hands because we didn’t want burnt diner coffee and they turned us away from being able to bring in a drink or even sit down. They would rather lose the customers who were going to spend a lot of money on food for something small like this, it was disappointing to say the least.

I went here on July 31st for breakfast. I ordered a western, my wife ordered coconut French toast, and we ordered a waffle with strawberries for my 2 year old son. I had a pineapple juice, and my son had a milk. The bill was 44 dollars and luckily I got 10 percent off fron my hotel stay. It ended up coming to 39 plus tip. Extremely expensive for below average food. I asked if I could have my home fries cooked in the frier and automatically the waitress said no, but I insisted she check. Very hit and miss. The hostesses are always great. Sometimes, you will get a great waitress who is willing to talk, pays attention to your order, and visits at the perfect intervals to check on the table. Sometimes the kitchen is on its game and serves up a great meal from the large and fairly priced menu. Sometimes though, the waitress will leave you waiting 10 minutes before taking your order, get that order wrong, and only return to the table to provide the check. Honestly, I've tasted soap in my food before at the restaurant, and received an excuse about it being tourist season, instead of receiving a refund. A bit of a gamble, but it's a good place overall.

Would have received 5 stars but they refuse to air Fox News. They air CNN and MSNBC, but some liberal complained about Fox News so they no longer air it. Another establishment caving in to pressure. If they aired all three at the same time then they would be unbiased and have a firm argument.

I wish I could give it less stars. You can't order your breakfast the way you'd like . I was told she didn't know why they didnt all low it it was just how it was there. The manager was not helpful she just said your leaving ok I only wanted my home fries cooked a little longer but that's something they dont do . That just tells me they microwave their food. This was my first time here and I will not be coming back in fact I will be telling g all my friends on all my social media sites about my experience there.

Food was ok,service needs a lot to be desired. Was not very busy when we were there, the waitress kept disappearing. The butter was on the plate with the food and completely melted. No sour cream was offered with a baked potato until I asked for it. We were very disappointed. It used to be a great restaurant.

The food was good, and the waitress was kind. However, the diner charges extra for additional sauces which is absurd. Even worse, as my friends and I were leaving tonight around 8 PM, we asked the woman at the cash register to give us 3 separate receipts so we could pay separately. She told us that we could not do this unless we split it equally, and was very rude about it. I’ve never heard of such ridiculousness-I’m a server, and I have no problem separating checks for my tables. She just didn’t want to do it. It was especially infuriating considering there were only 3 of us (each with easy meals), and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. One friend had to front the cost of all of our meals, which was very inconvenient. Probably won’t be returning, as I have no patience for these types of things.

Came in with my mother in law today for a nice relaxing lunch. Waitress came and got our drink order quickly and brought our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We explained that we hadn't had time to look through the menu yet and we needed more time. She came back literally two minutes later and said are you ready now, and we said no. She came back again about two minutes and asked again. So we ordered thinking she was getting off soon and wanted to get out of there. The salmon and lox is a great meal as my husband and mother in law ordered. Daughter got chocolate chip pancakes which had so much chocolate on them my daughter which is 18 and loves sweets didn't eat. My Philly cheese steak was charred to the texture of particle board. My son 17 had the gyro and will eat anything so no complaint there. As we finished up she came back to clear plates which she took my mother in laws who was still eating and had food in her hand. Seeing we had food on our plates she didn't even ask if we wanted them wrapped up, she just took everything away. Then she disappeared. Finally bringing our check. There were other tables waiting at well. She was very pushy. We are locals and felt we were treated like tourists. My mother in law paid the check as she wanted to pay for lunch today and she left a 10% tip which she never does. That's how bad the service was. I think we will steer clear of this place until the off season.
