Gloria was a wonderful waitress, so the service was great. The food was good, we ordered some burgers and fries. The sweet potato fries were great but you only get a few with your burger. Will definitely visit again.

Standard American fare. Nothing special, but not bad either. The ingredients in my chicken avocado sandwich seemed fresh and well prepared. The space was clean, the staff were efficient and the prices weren't astronomical.

A truly unpleasant lunch experience. I went to this restaurant on June 21, 2019 around 12:30 pm. The hostess was unfriendly and made customers feel as if they are a burden to her for showing up! The food was very salty - the cream of broccoli soup tasted as if a container of salt fell into it! The spinach and artichokes dip was also salty. There must have been a bargain sale on salt! The waitress, Andrea, was the only saving grace - very pleasant, efficient, and simply superb at her job. I felt bad that she had to serve awful food! You're better off going to other restaurants in Fairfield.

Didn't make it in here so I cant comment on taste of any food. However I will say I read lots of comments about this place being good for people gluten allergies and saw a gluten free burger that looked good, so we were gonna go. I called to see if I could put in an order for my family and asked what gluten free options they had. The lady told me she doesn't think they have any gluten free options. So now we're back to looking for a new place. Glad we didn't drive all the way there to be told the online info is not correct, so I'm posting this so others know as well!

Best bread anywhere. It was so good that we took a loaf home. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We sat at a table right next to the fireplace. We got there at 8pm on a Saturday night and did not have to wait. For a large restaurant, it was relatively quiet. Food was fresh and attractively presented.

More like joes anti American as a bus driver that brings a group of 44 people in and offer no discount when other place take care of the whole meal. Then ask about military discounts and they dont do that either. Thats ok . Last time i or the 100 and some bus drivers with our company will come to a Joe's. Lots of places out there make a less expense burger.

Good burgers. I tried the club sandwich, twice because I forgot how bad is was the first time. It is horrible and dry. The burgers are excellent. It is a burger and fries place, with a nice decor. A family type restaurant that is a bit loud. Service was good. I found a piece of plastic in my salad which was most unpleasant, and was offer not compensation--a desert of something would have made me happy. Since all I got was a we're sorry, I no long go in there. Stupid manager, lost a good customer.

Nice atmosphere, large, airy, yet with a clubby feel with lots of dark woods. Service is hit or miss. Some waitstaff are great, others it's clear this is their first waitstaff position. As for food, stick with the burgers. The rest of the menu is mediocre to merely adequate at best.

I ordered the French dip and it literally came with 6 French fries. I asked the bar maid if this was normal to which I got a stupid response that they weigh the amount being given. I was comped a beer for my lack of food only after I asked to talk to the manager. This happened once before. I should've known to never go back.

Overall the food was average to good, but my sirloin steak was much too salty. It was served with a baked potato and no other sidedish or salad. Additionally, there was only one basket of bread for a table of six. If you go there, stick with the burgers. I will not be going back.

Had the worst experience with my Aunt and Uncle and Niece. Service was awful. No silverware, cold soup, no water, no steak knife served with steak entree, dishes being dropped in background. Looked well understaffed for busy time. Entree plates looked like chef threw it on the plate. No effort in presentation. No up-selling to offer dessert, coffee. Had to ask hostess for dessert menu. Server disappeared for too long, too many times. Then tries to make awful joke. Insulting!!! Will most likely never go back. Sad. Used to be a nice average meal. Turned into awful experience. Owners should be ashamed.

Food is far too overpriced for what you get. It's definitely not worth giving a try I've had better food at a fast food place. One of the waiters spilled a soft drink of me, which I get accidents happen, I expected her to come back with a towel or something, but she never came back. If you're coming here for the bread then you should be re-evaluating your life decisions. GO TO THE NEXT BEST PLACE.

Update: Management reached out about my previous experience, so I decided to give the cure burger a second shot at redemption. This time was a totally different experience. Burger was juicy, filling, and flavorful. Fries were good too. Crispy, not soggy like some of the large cut fries you get elsewhere.

Just left after a mediocre meal (fillet mignon). Sat at the bar had to ask for my order to be taken, had to ask for bread, ordered medium got medium rare, vegetable (broccoli) was cold to the touch even the whipped butter didn’t melt in the florets! Potatoes where good. Sad to say this place seems to be heading in the wrong direction.

First time trying NOT IMPRESSED! My son's hot dog was cold and the waitress told me she would get me a brand new one brought back the same hot dog I poked a hole in. Service wasn't that great, she constantly kept reaching over us to pick up the garbage on our table, I will not be going back!

Bread is pretty much seared play doh but the burger are pretty good. Eat them fast though, the juices soak the bottom bun in no time. Fries are seasoned. Recomend the strawberry lemonade.

Went here with my family tonight, not the same place it used to be. I ordered the spinach & artichoke dip, chips were stale as if they sat out all night. My son ordered a hot dog & fries both looked as if they were not cooked. Both my husband and I ordered ribs, I couldn’t believe the portion size. The ribs had no meat on them and were very small, I wouldn’t even consider that a half rack. My side ceaser salad was all soggy and tasted gross. I couldn’t believe how bad the food was considering my bill was $100. I will not be returning to Joes, I can get a far better meal for my money elsewhere.

I'v never had a bad experience until Sunday evening. Our waitress Stephanie was very conniving. She came to the table and told us that there was a fish taco on the house. When we got the bill we saw that the fish taco was on it. Then when we confronted her about it she tried to say they couldn't take it off the bill. We told her to get her manger and she did and fixed it right away. I do not like sneaky people and for that reason she only got 15% from us because she's a lies. Honestly is the best policy.

Not my first time eating here and will definitely not be my last. The food is spectacular in variety, flavor and presentation. Not to mention you can't get much fresher when it comes to any dairy or bakery products. Their dairy farm produces milk, cheese, butter, ice cream and their bakery across the street makes bagels, rolls, and breads. If you have a chance, you should visit their dairy farm which is not too far from the restaurant. It should be called a spa for cows seeing how they are taken care of. Best restaurant on the East Coast !!!! Excellent !

Great location, close to Jennings beach. Atmosphere and service were great, food was also pretty good. I had the ribs, which needed an extra side of bbq sauce but were otherwise alright. Wife had the fish tacos and enjoyed them. They have a great looking bar, but really need to expand the beer selection--definitely should have a double ipa on the roster!

They were pushing the "Craft Sodas" on my son, so he got one and it was disgusting. Not impressed at all. Should have gone to the diner for half the price and better food.

Amazingly, about 6 years ago I ate at Joe's, and in a few hours I got really sick to my stomach, and I blamed the food. However, I have eaten there a number of times since, and have been quite satisfied. I ate there again today, and thoroughly enjoyed the food, and our waitress, Crystal, catered to us professionally, courteously and conscientiously, without being cloying.

i just left this place. i walk in with my friend because we wanted a burger. we go in and stand in front and nobody greets us . i walk over to the bar and ask if its self seated and then she said she'll seat us. When we were seated we saw Nyasia say to the curly light brunette that "i dont want them " then she rolls her eys and walked over and gave us a half a greet. my friend and i were not comfortable staying there and eating. we wanted another server and no one would attend to us. i left and when i tried to call the staff kept saying the manager was in a conference call. . i just feel so disrespected . nyasia did you ever think that maybe we didn't want you as a server . your shirt was filthy your hair was not well mannered and your attitude sucks . because of her i will never come back to this place. she put the both of us in a very bad mood and i hope you reality check yourself . im actually a great tipper. #disgusted

One of our favorite places for Friday night dinner. Love the ambience, lots of wood, nice long bar, high ceilings. Menu is good, with a good variety. Ribs are great, boneless buffalo wings, muscles, seared tuna, salads. Good for families, couples, and a business meeting.

This is a nice place. The outside of the building does not match the inside. Inside is very warm and inviting with lots of dark wood. It is open and spacious. The menu has a good variety. The burger and fish and chips were good. The chili could use a bit more spice. Overall this is a nice place to bring jour family and friends to for a simple meal or a nite out.

Went in for a late lunch at two o'clock, the place was empty and it ten minutes before someone came to seat us. The food once ordered took over a half hour after ordering. We only had salads and burgers and the food okay. I would go back again but make sure you have at least an hour and a half be a use the service is very slow.....

Everything is made from scratch and fresh to order, the restaurant is very clean and staff is courteous and professional. They cater to any allergies especially gluten! They offer more gluten free items than any other restaurant I've been to! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone especially families! Oh and they have a great happy hour special along with brunch on the weekends!

Was parked across the street and Google recommended I review. I wasn't actually visiting here but from what I can tell from the outside it looks like a decent place. I do think the "Joe's" sign should be a bit bigger though. All in all pretty okay place to look at while parked waiting.

Disappointing. We came for the barbeque platter from their website menu. They don't have it anymore. As a matter of fact their new menu does not have many items listed on website. How could a place of this caliber not update their website menu? We had reservations but still had to wait. The booth seating was well worn and very uncomfortable. The server was very friendly but disappeared when we needed her. And my order arrived missing the condiments I ordered. I had heard good things about this place but doubt I'd return.

Waitress was very nice and attentive. A bunch of people I went with a couple months ago, we had the worst waitress. Never even came back to see if we wanted coffee, all of a sudden the bill was on the table! Maybe when it's a large group they don't bother cause I think they mite tack on a gratuity. The food wasn't great, the French dip wasn't even as good as Roy Rogers or Arbys. Very plain not much taste. One of the guys we were with had a special, very spicy and the waitress told him it wasnt.

Very disappointing for a table of 6. Pea soup with ham was thin, watery not like real pea soup. Tortillas with the fish tacos were stone cold not heated or toasted. Fish inside was stringy. Service was cheerful but spotty.

Food is not bad but at times the service is not very good. We had to wait for a very long time at our table to be helped a few times. When I say "for a very long time", I mean more then 30 min. to have our order taken. One time, we were seated and after a very long time of waiting, we had to approach the host and ask where our waiter was. It turned out, nobody was assigned to our table yet. Everyone was very apologetic and it is not a huge deal but very inconvenient especially with 2 little kids.

I had a bad experience with Katie behind the bar, she does not represent the American Joe's well at all. I wanted to plug in my computer behind the bar and she gave me some BS about the outlet did not work. So I asked the other young lady (Jen) behind the bar and she was so sweet and accommodating and plugged my computer plug in and I stayed and had a nice dinner with Jen as my server. Katie was upset with Jen because she accommodated me and Katie shunned me for ten minutes without serving me when Jen noticed I was not being served Jen came to the rescue. I vote Jen for employee of the month. It appears that Katie needs to be retrained. I had an onion soup and was very good.

This place is fantastic. The atmosphere is quaint and romantic. The food is delicious and perfect when you are tired of the standard fast food. Their short rib meatloaf and mashed potatoes are to die for. Their bread is made in house it's flaky, soft and served hot with whipped butter. Perfect place for a girls night out, date night, or pick up your order.

My kids and I had an especially positive experience at Joe's the other night. Our waitress Jocelyn was so friendly and helpful that my 7 year-old made her a Wikki Stix rainbow to say thank you (they give you the Wikki Stix to play with while you wait). The food was very good and we never have to wait long for a table.

Years ago, I ate at Joe's American Bar, and about 18 hours later, I developed severe abdominal cramping and other unpleasant symptoms, although I remembered enjoying the food. However, I became leary. After many years, I decided to give Joe's another try, so I returned. Briefly, the food, drink and service were spot on, and I have no further reservations about returning. I shall eat here again with no reservations.
