At present this business gets a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and the score is based on 160 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is almost the best one, and it is based on a very high number of scores, so we can think that the score is quite reliable. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Indian restaurant.
Great food and quiet atmosphere Staff makes great recommendations without being pushy!
I visit this place at least once a month. I think this is the best Indian restaurant in Stamford/Greenwich area. Has good selection of Indian dishes even for vegetarians. Also recommend it for Indo Chinese and Tandoori. Gobi Manchurian is favorite for my five year daughter.
Indian Chic with a great menu. Best to reserve a table during weekends. The lunch specials are delicious and reasonable.
Their food was excellent. Easily the best in the area and probably the best cooked Indian I've had in as far as I can remember. Will return.
A bit pricey, but our favorite Indian restaurant in the area.
Great food! Honestly, I would go back any day. There are great vegan options, ask away. The food is consistent in flavor. The owner is very nice and he is extremely hard working. You can see the effort he puts into his restaurants.
Very good Indian food. Friendly attentive staff.
This place has great ambience, tasty food and friendly staff. I felt the food is a little expensive, but considering all the above factors its good.
Food was good
For certain reason the quality has been deteriorated!
Good quality food, reasonable prices. I like the lunch promo. I usually order take out from this restaurant. I love this place and I love The Mumbai Times too. The menu is kind of similar to The Mumbai Times, but India Avenue is a lot closer to my office
Very good place with great indian food.
Just tried for first time and I’m blown away! One of the absolute best Indian cuisine I have ever tried. So tasty, fresh, balanced, simply quilting food for amazing price. Lunch menu is a steal!! Also staff is very friendly, courteous, helpful and professional! Not even talking about good atmosphere and very chic interior. I’m so happy I found this hidden gem of lower Fairfield county!!! Mia
We ordered the samosas, chicken tikka masala, papadums, Gobi Manchurian and naan..it was ALL delicious! We will definitely order here again!
i like this place.good indian food
I get lunch here at least once a week. The lunch special is awesome! Good price + good food. Dinner is a about 8% pricier than other indian restaurants within 15miles radius, but that's ok, I'll just go there for lunch. My favorite are lamb vindaloo & lamb roganjosh ($11.95). The 5-star is based on the quality of the lunch. The deco is nice too, but the lunch is really, really, really good!!
Amazing chicken vindaloo
Delicious food and relaxing atmosphere.
Being a huge fan of Indian cuisine I simply couldn't find a restaurant in the local area that was up to my standards. My search is over. This place is a GEM. Wonderful staff with the freshest, tastiest Indian food I've ever had. Can't wait to visit again soon.
Good food and good service.
Yummy Indian food with a beautiful decor!! Lunch special at 8.99 is the best deal for such a tasty and fresh food!!!
I love this place! Food is always fresh and super flavorful. I get the lunch specials and it is perfect portion size and well priced. I eat here a few times a month and the service is always friendly and helpful. Anyone looking for good flavorful food with great service should definitly try India Avenue!!!
Food was very well made. Indo-chinese food was perfect. They offer rosted papad to start with. They pack the left over food in a nice to-go box for you.
Good curry they have amazing naan bread but the wait for food is long
It is a okay place for indian food.
Good food and lunch options
Upscale place with good Indian food. I really liked the ambiance and the service provided. Definitely a good place to hang out with your family and friends. Parking might be a challenge during peak hours and better to make an reservation.
Excellent service and great food
highend indian food with equally lovely people as aromas.
I went to this place with my family, we couldn't get a table as it was crowded, so planned to get a carryout. While we were waiting, the person in charge told us we have a table and we could take it. Once we were there they asked if they would like to keep the existing order or cancel it and reorder. We wanted to reorder as we were having it here. The person who gave us the menu and the person who made the take our order where different people and they forgot to cancel the original order. They gave us a starter and then the manager came in and told us they wouldn't be able to cancel our original order and we don't have a choice than to take it. We said we already cancelled it and they didn't agree to it easily. They made such a big fuss that everyone's attention was at our table. We did let it go since we didn't want them to spoil our mood. Then after serving us the starter they made us wait 40 minutes before serving the main dish and when asked, they said since you cancelled the order it will take time. Infact we only changed two items from our original carry out order, still they made us wait - probably, their way of treating us. And trust me everyone who placed their orders with us or after us also got their food. I lost my cool and was about to leave, the owner came in tried to calm things down, we lost our appetite by that time. Worst of it all was, the food that they served us was not even hot (or) warm, my gut says they did it intentionally. I offered to pay the bill for the cancelled items too. But the owner said it's not our fault and that the manager there shouldn't have nagged us for their mistake! This happened a while ago, but this is the only place where I had such a worst experience in the US. "No complaints about the food though! Was very good" - but who cares with such a service and such biased people.
Had Lamb Biriyani. Delicious. Will go there again.
This place is great! Very reasonably priced. Amazing food. I got the chicken vindaloo lunch special. It came with soup and Naan. Which was the best Naan I've ever had. Nice cool atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive waiters. I'll definitely be back.
The food here is excellent
Excellent food! Low price points and good serving portions. Phenomenal lunch offerings, favorites are Saag Paneer, Samosa and the Tandoori Salmon.
Good Indian food.
Incredible food and service! India Ave is my favorite restaurant in town
We have catered from India Ave/Navaratna twice for our parties and couldn't sing high enough praises. The food was FANTASTIC and Ramesh is an amazing host. He works well with you and helps you with the menu. I placed the order sort of last minute for both the events and it still was perfect. The best place to order Gobhi Manchurian, Hakka Noodles and Tandoori Chicken. Thank you Ramesh. The Birthday party was a huge hit and all the guests took home goodie bags full of the delicious food. Malhotras.
I like Indian food, but this place made me fall in love with it...just amazing flavor.
We googled "Indian food in Greenwich, CT." on our way back from New York to Farmington, CT. Wow! India Avenue in Greenwich, CT. is SO GOOD! Maybe the best Indian food we've ever had. No kidding. And we've eaten at many good Indian Restaurants, including Tamarind in NY. We LOVE Indian food! Our friendly waiter suggested the Coriander Chicken Tikka for an appetizer. He was right! So tender, delicately spiced... delicious! Then we shared 2 entrees. The Lamb Pepper Fry is OUTRAGEOUSLY excellent. They sort of shred the lamb chunks, and the lamb is completely tender. The flavors are seriously complex, and quite spicy (the way we like it). We also had Chicken Chettinad. Also just terrific! And the Kheer (rice pudding) is really really fine. We will go again, for sure. Truly excellent Indian food. Clean place, super friendly people. Reasonably priced. And what matters the most... genius in the kitchen. :-)
The best Indian food in Greenwich
Nice place for Indian food
Tasty food in small quantities
The best Indian around. Always a good sign when many Indians are dining there also! It's clean, the service is very polite and courteous, plenty of free parking and the food is delicious
This place has very nice Ambience. Food over there tastes good. They serve Indian cuisine and particularly northern Indian cuisine and various chaat options in appetizer, vegetables Curry's, different breads and sweets.. and they serve drinks too.... They don't have very long menu list like many restaurants but menu is well selected and most time we tend to order within that options only. They have indoor seating, no outdoor seating there. They have parking. It seems pretty busy during dinner time and we had our table reserved beforehand. Paneer Tikka was my best pick, marination was perfect blend. I enjoyed that in appetizer.
The food is exemplary! I cannot recall ever eating Indian food that so clearly tasted like food from India. Additionally, their staff was very courteous from the waiters to the elderly gentleman who seated us. If you are in the area and hungry, look no further!
Enjoyed a lovely family dinner at this contemporary Indian restaurant. We liked the appetizers on the menu and our waiter agreed to provide us dinner portions upon out request. All the items tasty really delicious. The service was reasonably quick and the portions were decent. Will definitely go back whenever possible. Special shout out to Prakash who is the manager for a job well done
The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. However, after brunch, I vomited saag paneer out twice in the evening and once in the middle of the night. I have not eaten since. Naturally, this colors the experience, and I would neither visit again, nor recommend the place
Quite and decent food. Good for having conversation.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Very good vegetarian options too!
Excellent food and service. In my experience, it is difficult to find really good Indian food; most are "just OK". However, if you DO find good Indian food: it's wonderful! This is some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten, with generous portions, and friendly, efficient service...and great desserts. My wife and I are definitely going back soon.
The FOOD WAS SIMPLY AMAZING! Made me miss home... The staff was courteous and The ambiance delightful.. I will definitely be returning
Good place, good people, good food
Food is fresh, made with good qualities, has the flavor of the variety of spices they use, and is consistently good. I like their lunch specials ! Had the most delicious beet soup during one of my lunches. Keep it up !
Everything extremely satisfied....
Excelent!
A little or expensive but worth it. You'll see a lot of Indians eating here. The only reason I did rate it higher is that service was slow. Owner said they were short staffed. Also it was empty when we arrived and then everyone came at once.
Delicious, good service. Very friendly maître d'.
Awesome Indian food
I never even got seated. I called in advance and made a reservation and they wouldn't honor it. In fact, the host/owner argued with me and asked to see my cell phone call record to prove I called. Will NEVER go there again.
Great food! Wonderful wait staff and management! Centrally located in downtown Greenwich, CT. All food is cooked with love and care! Don't like it spicy? Let them know! Everything cooked to your specifications.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Fairfield county. I have tried many restaurants in near by Stamford where I live but they are not as authentic as India Ave. I would recommend this one to everyone. Though I am a vegetarian I hear that their Tandoor items are amazing.
Good food... Good portions... Very fair lunch prices. I will definitely become aregular here.
Great
Some of the most authentic Indian food I've had on the east coast. The appetizers are extremely flavorful and delicious. Also the chicken Tikka BBQ dish was fantastic. The part of the chicken they use is tender and juicy and they use very authentic and flavorful spices and herbs in their food. If you desire to sample the most traditional and authentic Indian food you can you must go to India avenue.
Best new restaurant in Greenwich, warm and friendly staff, personalized attention, wonderful food, (this coming from someone who's been to India 4 times). Price is right, atmosphere is calm and relaxing and not noisy. Everything cooked to order. Fresh and delicious!
Delicious food!! We stopped by at India Avenue while driving from NY to Boston. Had to sit in car at eat since our daughter dozzed off, so cant comment much on the ambiance, but food was 10/10. Thank you team!
Good ambience. The staff needs to be clear with the menu and offerings. Rest all good. Great taste and clewn place.
The best Indian restaurant in Greenwich
Great food!
Best Vegan Indian food in Fairfield County
Soft and fluffy naans (indian bread)
Amazing
Food was really good and would visit again for sure. I am giving 4 star instead of 5 cause v found the starter too salty, sorry
Placed Order through Grubhub. I mentioned in the notes to provide disposable spoons as I was ordering from a hotel room. Infact, I called up and reminded them. Still, nothing was provided with the delivery. Coming to food, Biryani was not very great. It has some sweet taste. I would not recommend this place for authentic Indian food.
Good but a bit expensive
Delicious, excellent customer service.... i left happy and can’t wait to come back ! I went in with my niece and we both were so happy with the experience! A must!!! In love :)
Nothing personal against this place or the people, but I've eaten a lot of Indian food, and this was the worst Indian food I've ever had. We were able to eat about half of it before using the rest. Also, the items we ordered were different from those we received, which we discovered at home.
Upmarket presentation backed by authentic Indian food.
excellent Indian food at reasonable prices the lamb vindaloo was particularly excellent they used unusually good cuts of lamb, very low fat
Lived in Jackson Heights, Queens for 20 years and this level of Indian cuisine blows doors off of my old stomping ground. From the level of service to the quality of their products. I really can't rave about this place more. BTW, fantastic lunch deal but NOT a buffet.
Large new spot with a big menu and generous lunch specials. Definitely worth a stop in to try.
Awesome food, staff/owner explained all dishes and was super attentive. Thumbs up
Chicken Biryani was awesome.
Taking long time to serve food!!
Was looking for Indian food in Greenwich, and found this place that just opened. I got one of the lunch specials for takeout: everything was very tasty, nice balance of heat and flavor, good size portions. Will visit again soon.
Won't be returning. Both of us got GI sick that night and the next morning.
Nice restaurant in a less busy street. Plenty of parking. Simple yet modern decor. Staff was very professional. Food is decent. They made one of our dishes little too spicy but brought replacement pretty quickly. One star less for tiny tables for four and chicken chunks not cooked properly.
A wonderful restaurant for Indian "foodies". The menu is extensive including a well curated wine and beer list. I have had plenty of good Indian food in my travels, but few can touch India Avenue's authenticity and artistry. The freshly prepared dishes are brought to a new level with hand ground spices. The waitstaff are courteous and attentive. The atmosphere is light, clean and elegant and the owner makes sure guests are well cared for. Do not miss this place!
This place is amazing. Great paneer appetizer and Vegetable were very fresh in the main course. I have never seen a grape tomato in any indian cuisine, grape tomatoes are normally expensive but they are very delicious. The staff was very professional. This place has modern vibe with authentic Indian touch to it. I would definitely go here again from long island for dinner.
Try Tandoori Salmon.. Awesome dish...and all vegeterian indian breads are too good
Very nice flavors by the Malayali kitchen staff.
Authentic Indian food and great service
Good food
It was really good experience coming here, the ambiance was really good and the food was delicious too, now we don't need to go to India for authentic Indian taste.
The best Indian restaurant !
Food was excellent. Wait staff were fine. The place is a little noisy. Prices were about 10% higher than I expected. I would eat there again.
Good food
Good food
Tasty Indian fare, served in an elegant setting. We ate at the restaurant, but saw dozens of people pick up food for take out.
Very tasty, fresh Indian! Got tandoori mixed grill (The salmon was a big surprise hit), chicken madras, Aloo Gobi. Gobi Manchurian starter was awesome too from the indo-chinese menu, came out like General Tso's cauliflower! Dosa was impressive as well.
Great food and ambience and service
