I am not an expert on Indian food, but I have eaten at several Indian restaurants in the New Haven area. The lunch buffet is reasonable and has good choices, like Chicken Tika Masala and even some dessert, which some places don't give you. I'm planning to go back.

Where do I even start? Haveli’s is the go to when I’m in the mood for Indian cuisine! I expand my pallet every time I take a visit to Haveli’s. The chicken curry is my personal favorite, the chicken is always cooked to perfection and the sauce is on point every time I get the curry. I am never dissatisfied when coming here. The service is impeccable, they are wonderful people who always remember me! I love eating in just as much as I love taking out. The atmosphere is very cozy and the restaurant is always clean. A gorgeous building and gorgeous seating and over all I can’t help but give a full five stars to this wonderful restaurant. I feel welcome every time I come; I am never let down! Thank you Haveli India!!

Ordered quite a few things. Liked only mixed grill. Rest of the items were mostly filled with coconut milk. Also we ordered 3 gravy dishes that Include chicken, lamb and daal and they all tasted same. Feel like garvy pre-made and added to pre-made meets and just mixed it. Didn't liked much.

My wife and I ate here a dozen times over a few years in CT. I don't think we had one bad experience. The staff are very good, and the food is tasty. The atmosphere is nice due to the old inn with wood panel feeling. I love their lamb rogan josh.

Best Indian buffet in Connecticut I have been to. Lots of variety for both veg and non-veg. We regularly have Krishna cater our events. (And we also have had events at the restaurant). Everyone is always happy with the food and asks where the restaurant is so they can go there. At the restaurant we are always happy with the service. They'll also have some South Indian dishes which is an added plus.

This restaurant is an amazing lil' gem that my twin sis and I discovered a few days ago when looking for Indian cuisine near the hotel we are staying at. As soon as you pull up there is a charm to the restaurant that is calling you to come inside and once we stepped inside this quaint restaurant we were greeted with a positive energy and lovely vibe from the staff that works here. The first time we came which was about 3 days ago, the waiter was very accommodating to our vegan needs and was able to suggest a meal that catered to our needs, the food is quite delicious, and made with love. Tonight, we came back in and the same warm greeting awaited us. When we come into Haveli we are treated like family and not just a customer which is how a business should be like. Thank you beautiful souls for being so warm, welcoming and accommodating to my twin sis and I. We look forward to future visits when we come back into town.

Surprisingly empty at 7pm on a Tuesday night. The service was extremely courteous and very fast. The food was excellent. As a Pakistani native, I consider this very similar to the food we would get back home and not like most Indian places in the US that serve "westernized" Indian food. Definitely try the Thali if you can't make up your mind regarding which of the dishes from their expansive menu to pick. And of course, the Chicken Biryani.

Hands down the best Indian food in the area. Service has always been quick and the staff are friendly. I brought a friend here who had never tried Indian food before, they were patient and accommodating for her dietary needs. The garlic naan is a favorite of mine and is a must try.

I don't know how this place stays in business. It is never busy there, the food is amazing, and inexpensive. Best of all, if you ask for spicy food, they actually give you spicy food. Not all Indian restaurants do that. And their spice is not just hot, but also flavorful. I can't recommend this place enough!

Advertised as Handicapped Accessible but getting around the entrance doors which open into the ramp means you are dangerously close to stairs, very little room to get a wheelchair in. Our chair was literally four inches from the stair edge!! Rest room door is too small for wheel chair accessibility and have no hand rails. We could not use this place at all. This is NOT accessible.

Nothing was good.We drove 20 miles to reach this restaurant and at the end realized that waste of money and time for a worst tasting food...they refused even to serve fennel seeds at the end and restaurant manager showed his rigid face when we asked...better keep away from this place guys...no professional service ...

The best authentic Indian and Pakistani food I have had in Connecticut. I got the non vegitarian thali which has an extensive variety, with Dal soup, your choice of naan, and rice pudding for dessert. All for about $18 is a great value especially for the quality of the food and fantastic service. My new favorite Thanksgiving spot if I can't go to my mother in law's.

The restaurant looked like a mini medieval castle, quaint little place on route from Middletown to Durham. Seemed popular, many families dining and celebrating special occasions. Staff spoke very little English, but was nice and attentive - so it only added to the authenticity of the restaurant. Food took a little while, but was hot. We ordered Tandoori Chicken ( traditionally baked in a clay oven) and Chicken Tikka Masala - both were excellent. Very impressed.

I've only been to their lunch buffet (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) which we love. We go with our twin one-year-olds and the staff is always great with them (they have standard restaurant high chairs). Once they brought us free mango lassis for the twins. We love everything we've had, and it's all quite flavorful. Heat wise, most of the dishes are quite mild (which is my personal preference); only the tandoori chicken is spicy and I don't think it's that extreme. The building is also quite old and picturesque. Made-to-order dosas are available on Sunday.

I love Haveli India! Open 7 days a week. I like to make it to the Buffett! Friday,Saturday,Sunday from 11-3p.m. You wont be dissapointed. Plenty to choose from. They give you plenty of Naan bread. The mango lassi drink is wonderfull! I will always come here for good indian food!

Really nice Indian place with pleasant interiors and exteriors. Food is fantastic and authentic Indian cuisine. Visited this place just once but is by far the best Indian restaurant I personally ever tried in US. We ordered vegetarian momos as starter and it was well cooked and fresh. As our main course we had malai kofta, mint parantha and haveli special parantha. Malai kofta is a rich indian dish which is a risky one to try at a new place. But this place nailed it as far as the taste, texture and spices are concerned! Paranthas were great in taste and fresh too. For dessert, we had Rasmalai which disappointed us after having set the bar quite high with rest of the food. It tasted exactly like frozen Rasmalai by Deep, that we get at Indian grocery stores. Overall it was a really good experience and would love visit again to try more of their main course options!

Have been going here for years. Just celebrated our 47th anniversary here. That should give you an idea what we think of this restaurant. i find it a cut well above the other area Indian restaurants. They also do the luncheon buffet on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Usually this place is really good. Today the service was pretty terrible. A family of four, who arrived after us, received their food before we did. It also took 52 minutes for our food to come out. Our food was all right once it got there, but I don't think there's any reason we should have waited 52 minutes for it.

The weekend buffet is really a pretty sight, and has such wonderful delicacies I am making myself hungry just typing about it. I would say, if you or your dining companions are trying Indian cuisine for the first time, this is an excellent introduction to delicious, authentic Indian cooking.

Wow!! Where to begin!! The way the staff treated me here made me feel like I was back home in India. I'm not from India, however, my best friend is and I've visited twice already this year and have felt more at home there than here in the states. Anyway, the first time coming here to this amazing restaurant I came with my twin sister about three days ago, the both of us vegans. We informed our waiter of our restrictions and they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Not only was the staff the most accommodating and gracious hosts at their restaurant, the food is authentic as you get to real Indian cuisine. If I wasn't moving in two weeks I would be back here every week. This place is amazing!!

A tad more original than close by restaurants for basic Indian dishes. Although I've had them all. I think I prefer that approach. The service is always nice, generous, and willing. I like things exoribitantly spicey and they're always willing to accommodate my straight jacket spice requirements. Never messed up (30+?) orders, always consistent, and always a good experience. If you're in the area, this is a great place for good Indian cuisine !
