It's a mediocre spot in a town that has mostly average restaurants to begin with. I often come back just because of the convenience of living only 5 min away. If I'm craving Chinese food, I tend to split my visits between Gung Ho and the several other local spots that have similar offerings. Their competition seems to be a bit better regarding some dishes. However, Gung Ho is reasonably priced for what it is. Their customer service could be better though. I wouldn't call them rude, but close. Again, convenience is key here. I wouldn't come here expecting anything spectacular.

They have half price sushi rolls every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And their sushi is really good. The only problem is the service can be slow if you order a lot because Tuesday to Thursday aren't high traffic days so they usually only have one chef working.

Did this restaurant change management or fire all their cooks? My last order was absolutely terrible. The chicken wings were undercooked and has some weird curry powder on them. The chiken fingers were over done and had no taste. The lo mein had no texture...felt like mush. Absolute crap and a waste of $55. Never again unless some serious changes are made at this resturant. Go somewhere else if you're in Colchester.

I find the main food to be pretty mediocre, but the sushi here is extremely good. The firework roll here is the best individual sushi roll I have ever had. I highly recommend this location if you are just looking for sushi.

Food is good but takes forever! Ordered take out on a Thursday night around dinner time. Understaffed..Only 1 guy on sushi. It took 45 minutes for a take out order. They told my husband 20 minutes. At least give us the correct time so I'm not sitting around waiting for a half hour! A Chinese food restaurant should have food ready in 20 minutes tops!

For years, Gung Ho has produced exceptional American Chinese food and sushi. A relaxed setting and reasonable pricing make Gung Ho perfect for dining with friends and family. Their tasty dishes make for great take out as well. Notable favorites of my family include Szechuan Chicken. Mongolian Beef, and Teriyaki Beef Sticks.

Good "cheap" Chinese food which seems to be a pattern, it tastes way too sweet and a little cheap. The service is great, very attentive. I ordered a couple hand rolls recently as take out and they weren't even closed; this particularly bothered me because you can tell just by looking at the closed box which means whoever packed it decided not to correct the mistake.

Great Chinese food at reasonable prices. We travel through Colchester often and like to eat here when the mood for Asian food strikes. On this occasion, which was Sunday lunch, my son was with us. My son and I enjoyed a combination meal while my wife ordered from the chef's specials. Not one of us were disappointed with our selections.

My father used to take my whole family there since before I can remember. Many birthdays, and just about every special occassion you can think of was spent eating this amazing food. Great atmosphere, great service, great drinks. Truly a gem. So much so that I often venture here from New Britain. Superlative.

They are the neighborhood Chinese resturant of choice if you are looking for familiar faces and friendly service with good food at a great value.

We go there for every family gathering and most birthdays! The staff is very friendly and they make us feel right at home!!! We have been going there since I was a child and I will continue to support their hard work and good food! Love ALL of the food and their recently updated decor. Not to mention, the great scorpion bowls!!!! :)

We all ate here for lunch. Based on the lunch special of $6.50, you get a choice of one of three soups and an entree listed on the sheet of specials. For the amount of food you get you can't beat the price. I've definitely had better, but again, you get what you pay for. I'm a vegetarian. They didn't have exactly what I could eat on the menu but they were happy to add tofu to stir-fried veggies and give me miso soup instead of the other soups offered. The quality is OK so you should definitely give it a try.

This is the best Chinese place in all of ct their rice is most certainly the best I've had since moving from Massachusetts in 2003 I always order out except for when I'm staying for sushi this guy bob who one stared this is just unreasonable everyone has an off day no matter how not swamped they are Ive never had bad food nor mediocre from this place and for that as long as I live in this area I will continue to exclusively come here!

Ordered Edamame and Dim Sun Sampler - tiny tiny shrimp but the overall taste of both were great! Needs larger silverware selection the spoons for dining were basically serving spoons and the "tea" spoon wasn't much smaller. I think it'd be difficult for an older person or a child to use. Good musical choices, fitting for the scenery. Curt waiter who was a little awkward but not rude per say. I would go back but not a first choice in my book.

It's been awhile since we've there, and apparently the place has taken a change for the worst. The waitress upon taking our order never asked us if we wanted a beverage with our meal or dessert afterward. My wife needed some hot mustard for her dish, and I tried waving my hands to attract her attention, but she was too busy talking to co-workers. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon, and only three other people in the place, so she certainly wasn't swamped. My crispy duck was ok, but my wife's general tso's chicken was made without the traditional peppers and was tough. That will be our last visit.

I'm a regular who drives about 40 minutes to enjoy the sushi every week. The staff are friendly and personable. The sushi is by far the best I've ever had and I look forward to visiting as often as I can. They have a very diversified menu which is great when I have friends and family join me that aren't down with eating raw fish. Jimmy the owner can be found frequently conversing with the patrons which adds value to dining at a local business that is a rarity at most food chains.
