Greer's continues to be " the place " for fried chicken. Their secret formula is light and tasty. Jalapeno poppers are another fan favorite, along with homemade coleslaw and potato salad. A fish fillet sandwich is generous for us non-meat eaters. There is usually a wait, but seasonal outside seating is available. Order ahead is probably best if you're in a hurry.

We and another family had Greer's cater our daughters' graduation party last month. The price for catering was already so reasonable and but when we placed our order we received an extra discount for a party over 50 people. We asked to substitute an item and they were very accommodating. The food was so fresh. The potato salad was homemade and not deli style. And the flavor of baked beans was out of this world good! Everyone commented on how good the food was. Rich delivered the food, set everything up and came back at the end of the evening to clean and pick up his equipment. I would highly recommend Greer's as they made our event wonderful.

I do not give negative reviews lightly,knowing that the livelihood of people might be impacted but a place should live up to its advertising. Saw Greers advertising of a prize as best chicken in CT and decided to give it a try. Bought roasted chicken for my wife and fried for me. The fried chicken was tasteless and hard and dry inside. After a bite off each of the 4 pieces i had to trow them away . The roasted chicken was scrawny and after a few bites my wife trew it away too,calling it disgusting . Now you have to understand that she is a person that considers Costco's roasted chicken"not bad at all"

Visit March '16 Interestingly the high reviews seem to be from locals, however after trying this place I can say I wasn't amazed by the chicken. In combo meals, for every four pieces one will be 1x breast,thigh,drum,wing - in a 10 piece order the final two pieces were drums, not even a thigh. The skin is actually pretty good not bad, lightly salted - the meat however has no flavor, some pieces weren't even fully cooked as there was blood in the meat. I've had better chicken, this is no way is southern style chicken, maybe southern bristol chicken. The sides were pretty solid in my opinion, onion rings were humungous - perhaps the best I've ever had. The cole slaw, and chicken mac salad were good to- the potato salad lacked flavor, to bland in my opinion. The mash was good but the gravy was disappointing - no flavor/ bland. Now theres another chicken shack in town l, might just buy their chicken and the sides from this place. 10 piece chicken and baby sized sides- $33 (ouch)

Chicken was fried perfectly. Delicately seasoned, not greasy and not too salty. Special thanks to the staff who took our order at slightly after closing time. That was nice. Mashed potatoes and cole slaw are a must with Fried Chicken and Greers certainly does not disappoint in that area either.

Love Greer's! The chicken is moist and juicy, has a nice flavor and not salty! The sides are home made deliciousness and a nice add to make a hearty meal. Richy and his crew are doing something special in Bristol! Stop by and treat yourself. "Fast food" just won't cut it after you have Greer's.

Every time we have ordered chicken here the food was great but, service sucks. This past time absolutely no flavor and service reallllllyyyyyy sucked. The kids that run it are rudeeee even the older guy behind the counter. Idkkkkk howwww ppl rated them sooo high. I've had great fried chicken many times and I can make it slammin myself. If anything it's been ok but, never have I thought it to be great just decent but nottt this weekend The chicken has absolutely no flavor to it Tastes like legit water when u get to the meat itself Idk what happened. Fromm last year but this is the last time I spend $50 on fried chicken here. I'd rather go to KFC knew I shoulda went to Popeyes...

Chicken was not as good as I thought it would be and the sizes was small (leg and wing) . Sides were very good and carrot cake was good. I do have to go back and try the chicken liver and gizzard, when the weather is warmer to sit outside

I continue going to this gem of a place. My father introduced me to it over 5 years ago. My stepmom used to live in town. Plus she worked in town. Love, how your food is made after you order. They employ local kids. The food is priced well. So much better than that chain fried chicken.

Great fried chicken and seafood! This hidden gem is worth the trip! Call ahead or be prepared to wait a few minutes, they make your meal fresh for you.. Chicken nuggets are real white meat chicken, chicken bites are too, both delish! Fried chicken is moist and perfect. I have not been thrilled with their mashed potatoes or coleslaw, but the baked beans are home made and fantastic. Salads are lovely too. They frequently have rotisserie chicken available, and they are moist and very very good. There are always several desserts to choose from, they look nice, but I haven't tried any. Prices are a bit high, but I think the quality makes it worth it.
