I threw a surprise 50th birthday party at Double play. From start to finish, Jeff was amazing. He made throwing the party easy, fun and took away 99% of the stress. The food AMAZING! Everyone raved about it all night. Everything was delicious. Thank you to the staff and bartenders for keeping the guests happy. We love Double Play and did I mention Jeff??? We LOVE HIM TOO!!

Great age range of patrons. The food is excellent. They have live bands play. It's also a great place to watch the game plenty of TVs and they will change channels if asked to put on your team.

Same excellent steamed cheese burgers as k.lamays. Cajun shrimp po boys , solo good! Great homemade soups too. Get there for lunch. Any sandwich, side and beer only $10!

Double Play Cafe is K. LeMay's sport bar move. Like his other stores it's a hit; for the sporting events during the year the bar is a bee hive of a place. Anything I've had for food has been very good and the selection of beer and spirits is quite nice. If you like football on Sunday especially the Philadelphia Eagles you'll be right at home. Fly Eagles fly!!!!

This is a hidden gem. You walk in thinking it's just a little neighborhood bar and then they surprise you. The food is amazing. I am yet to have anything on the menu that is mediocre, it all tastes great! And the service is excellent. Ever go to a place where thr staff knows the locals and you get ignored? That does NOT happen here. Whether you know them or not, you get excellent service. They never leave you sitting long, your drinks are refilled, food order is taken and they make sure you are OK. Stop in, you'll love this place.

Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, along with interesting folks to chat with, makes the Double Play a great spot for a bite and a beer, or two. Food is fantastic, with a with a wide variety of choices. Did I mention, that the Double Play's prices are more than reasonable. Worth the stop if you're traveling through the Wallingford/Meriden area!

I think there are two questions about this place. 1, how is the atmosphere? 2, What is a steamed cheeseburger. The atmosphere is pretty fun. Noise levels are great for conversation unless the jukebox is playing. Good selection of beers and good food. I had the potato skins and a steamed cheeseburger. The steamed cheeseburger was better than I figured. The steaming process seems to foam up the cheese and create a viscous gooey cheese which coats the tongue. Some may complain it makes salt flavors more pronounced.I think if you can stand a bit of a salty cheese on the most tender meat you will ever try, give this place a shot.

I like the ambience here. The food is very good. We got a warm welcome. This place reminded me of the pubs I visited in England. It is very cosy. Will go back.

We went there for dinner and ordered Bacon cheeseburgers. The service was pretty good and the fries were pretty good but the cheese on the burgers was not good. It did not taste like cheddar like it was supposed to.

I have been going to double play since they opened, but now they are denying me service because of an issue with my wife. I have been a loyal customer and now I feel discriminated towards. I went down there to speak with Bill and I felt that everything was settled. Then come to find out everything we spoke about was not taken seriously. If we are going to speak like men than at least keep your word. It’s embarrassing to be told that you can’t be there after I am halfway through finishing a drink. Why did you serve me in the first place. I will take the proper steps to litigate against them for refusing to serve me based on here say information.

The only thing that I can say about The Double play is I love this place so much. I go there with my son at least once a month because the food is great, the staff are awesome ppl. More importantly I love beer selection hahahaha
