I miss living in Connecticut primarily because of Dive Bar. Their nachos are great, the sliders are the size of normal burgers, and the atmosphere is all around amazing. Can't wait to visit soon.

Nice looking bar. On Tuesday June 18th I stopped in for lunch. I ordered Sliders and that consists of three mini burgers. They looked great when I got them. I bit into them and the center was raw and under cooked. I turned them back. If you can't cook a simple burger properly than its time to get a new cook or quit the restaurant business. I will never return.

Without getting into specifics they were out of two things I wanted and my burger was overcooked although it was still delicious. And Dana our server was very pleasant and upbeat. I look forward to going back because they had some very nice menu items and drinks that I'd like to try.

Went last night with a group of 3. Place was pretty busy but we found an open table. Service was absolutely horrible! Took an hour and 25 mins to get our food. Waitress never brought me a water after I asked her twice for it. Asked for extra napkins and she never came back with them. Drinks were good and music was good that's about it cause the food and service sucked. Better places to go for food and drinks but if you're just looking for drinks and to sit at the bar I'd say to give it a shot.

Best spot for food, drinks and hanging with familiar faces. Menu has creative items and always fresh. Well worth any wait to have it arrive, plenty drink choices to pass the time. Fun atmosphere and great location.

Terrible service. The waitress never came back to check if we needed more drinks after we finished the first round. The kitchen closed at 9pm so we couldn't get food. I asked for water and never got it. We were sitting at the table so long we had to go up to the bar to request the check.

The renovations are awesome, it had a nice crowd on a Wednesday, our waitress was extra attentive to our needs made sure we had what we wanted and check up on us regularly which was very appreciated

Upon arrival I was really impressed with this place. Very nicely put together, and right by the beach. The menu was good with lots of choices. I was disappointed that my "motherload" burger had absolutely nothing on it except the jalapenos and Mayo that I requested. And the burger didn't come with fries, which was surprising considering the burger was $12. All in all it was an okay experience. I'd try again, but if my second experience was like my first, I'd never go back.

If you're an avid craft beer lover, Dive Bar & Restaurant is the perfect place for you.There is a large selection of all types of craft beers available, ranging from ales, lagers, IPAs. I'm a huge IPA fan and was pleased that there were multiple options for IPAs and DIPAs. My friend and I ordered the spring rolls and they were absolutely fantastic. I was a little leery about ordering food at a bar, because bar food is usually mediocre. But it wasn't the case with these spring rolls- I could just not stop eating them. I don't think you can go wrong with ordering anything on the menu.

Great burgers and bar food. The place recently expanded, so the wait for tables is less than past years. The hand made potato chips with an array of toppings are delicious and should not be missed. The only thing that would have been better, is the speed that the food arrives. As long as you're not in a hurry, its all good.

The place is great if you can get in. Once in, the ambiance is very hip and the flights of beer are awesome as well as the upscale but affordable plates and apps. Tuesdays seem to be a good evening to get in. Prepare to wait any other days. Summers are even better. They have a garage door they open so you get the breeze off the long island sound. It's truly a West Haven treasure!

Very rude staff. When we came in, the bartender asked for our IDs so while she was checking them, we took a seat. When she finished checking and scanning them she walked to the end of the bar and yelled "Um hello?", while waving our ideas in the air, and looked to a patroon to her right, rolled her eyes, and said something under her breathe. When we ordered a dive bowl ($40), the patroon that she originally spoke to about us was having a conversation with her regarding our drink. He said something regarding our drink being a "safety" drink, meaning that there was not a lot of alcohol in the drink. When watching her make it, less than half the bowl had alcohol in it, and there was even ice coming out of the top of it because of how much ice she packed in it. When she delivered the drink to our table, instead of asking if we needed anything else, like food which we were going to order, she said "that's 40 dollars". Typically, the bartender shouldn't ask for the money for a drink unless the patron is finish and ready to leave. While we were there, we were quiet, friendly, and didn't bother anyone. While we were there, we were never once asked if we needed anything, nor did the battener even approach us unless she was asking for the recipet. Upon our departure, we were told "don't come back", probably because we didn't tip. Being that I work in the food industry, I know that there are rare occasions that someone would not tip, one being that the service wasn't deserving of a tip. After the bartener saw we didn't tip her on the receipt, she still didn't come to ask if we needed anything or if she could help us in any way. I am very disappointed because I enjoyed going to Dive Bar, but the staff is always rude and frequently speaks poorly about patrons to regulars. I would recommend you find somewhere else to go, because the service is that poor and unprofessional. And if the bartender is to see this, I do not appreciate your attitude. People often think less of people on the food/beverage industry, your attitude fuels their attitudes.

I came in for food and soon after sitting I was asked for my ID. When the waitress returned, she stated that the machine was not accepting my ID and I could not be served alcohol. I was then asked for a second form of ID, so I provided several more forms. I was still not able to be served, so why bother asking for a second form of ID? My ID has worked fine here once before, and at other restaurants as well. I asked what I would have to do to be served here, and she told me to either bring a passport or get my ID redone. Sorry, I'll take my business elsewhere. Maybe you need a new machine or need to find a better way to card your guests.

Haven't been in awhile but when I did go I really enjoyed the food. The steak and cheese sub was huge and tasted amazing! Not a lot of seating so you need to get there early for lunch. Totally worth it! Reasinable prices too

We just love this place... When we can get in. It is really, really small. Wish they would buy the dump tavern next to them and move there. Tons of different beers and artsy fartsy pub food. Wish there were more places like this along the water in West Haven and Milford.
